Rose Moon walked into the Great Hall, and cast her eyes around scanning for Henry. She had gotten a letter that morning that had concerned both of them. Rose's mother had gotten engaged to Henry's father. At first, it had been an awkward occurrence and Rose and Henry weren't sure how their relationship worked now. They had gotten together to work all of that out, and had been back on a friendship status, almost pretending that their parents' engagement never happened. But they both knew that the wedding was going to happen, this summer, whether they liked it or not. It loomed above Rose, ever-approaching. It wasn't that she didn't want Henry as a stepbrother. No, that was one of the things that Rose was okay with. Actually, Rose was kind of looking forward to seeing Henry more. It was that she didn't want a stepfather. She didn't want to leave her house that she was living in on breaks. She didn't want to have whole new additions to her family that she then had to figure out where she stood in. That she then had to figure out what kind of family it even was, and how it worked.

She had a family now that worked. She had a family now that she loved, and a house now that she loved, and... she just wondered why that wasn't enough for her mother.

Rose knew that was unfair. Her mother worked pretty much every moment that she could for at least ten years, trying to keep her family afloat by herself. She took up extra shifts, part-time jobs, anything she could to give her kids the best life that she could. But the thing was, having her more in the picture would have given them a better life. That hadn't been possible for so long, and the second it was, her mother had gone and started dating someone instead of loving the kids she already had.

The letter held in her hand, Rose spied Henry Knight. He had just come into the Great Hall. Rose assumed that it was to get breakfast. Rose walked over to him and tapped him on the shoulder. "Can I talk to you?" she asked. If Henry agreed to it, she would lead him over to the Gryffindor Table, plopping down. She didn't serve herself any food yet- maybe she would later, but she didn't have much of an appetite now. Rose handed Henry the letter.
Kids,

I've been planning my wedding this summer, and there were a few things I thought I would ask you about. I value your opinions, and also, frankly, I'm really indecisive about this stuff. It's like it's going to be the best day of my life or something. Anyway, it's just a few things that you all can vote on. Jessie's vote counts, too. It's just stuff like food and colors and stuff. Just as long as you don't have some kind of heated debate or something, be kind to each other.

Love,
Mom

P.S. Show this to Henry, too! He should get a say.
Also inside was a list of things that they could write back about. It wasn't a long list, thankfully, but not anything Rose felt like deciding her opinion about.

Once Henry finished reading, Rose sighed. "I don't even know how I feel about this wedding in the first place," she murmured. "It just feels so weird."

Henry Knight was actually having a good day that morning.

He got up a extra ten minutes that day. Easily changed into his jeans and sweater, his pendant laid underneath his sweater and remembered his slytherin watch as well. The boy was able to head up to the owlery that morning to mail his older brother a letter, they write to each other nearly every day, although that day he received an letter from Apollo his father's great horn owl but decided to tuck it away into his pocket without reading it and head out of the owlery. He had just enough time to drop Loki after in his dormitory and grab his bag through.

The teen even remembered to take the long route to avoid his cousin who had a preference to bully him. After classes that day he planned to head to the dueling room to practice his dueling spells and strategies for the team then thought that he would probably cacth up with Logan till dinner or so. However the teen expected a good day that morning and he thought he would start it off by reading a book he recently got from the library on ancient ruins tucked underneath his arm.

However plans change when he stepped foot into the hall and spied a familiar set of red head bouncing toward him, not knowing anything at first the boy would smile toward her and speak" good morning," ready to find his best friend at the hufflepuff table so he could start on his book when he heard Rose's words.

The teen would nod a bit still wanting to start reading his book when he would follow Rose to the gryffindor table and instead of across from her, he decided to sit next to her that morning.

Setting his bag down by his feet and sliding his book into it before glancing back toward Rose ready to ask 'what's wrong' before taking the letter that was handed to him and reading it over closely and carefully.

Suddenly everything came rushing back toward Henry at once and he felt like his good day was ruined. For a while Henry tried not to think about his father's engagement to Rose's mother which worked out better than he thought but you can't exactly block things out forever and eventually you have to face the facts.

Henry tried not to imagine that summer holiday where his father would marry and he would have step siblings. He didn't have anything against Rose and a part of him thinks it would be nice to be step siblings with the girl but step siblings and moving houses for the third time wasn't the point.

What was the point was after his mum died, his father threw himself into his work and tried his hardest to not be a part of his kids lives. Henry didn't really mind since he bonded closely with Arthur but why couldn't his father first fix his relationship with his own kids before getting girlfriend and before getting engaged and before he gets step children.

Was Henry a little bit jealous of Rose and her family? Yes, because he never really experienced a family relationship minus his relationship with his brother and twin but would he admit this? Never.

So the boy handed back the letter and really didn't care, actually. He didn't want a choice in decorating or designing a wedding and he didn't want his father's future wife to take pity on him either.

Henry hated the line at the bottom, Pearl asking her kids to include him. That made Henry feel guilty and awkward about the situation more then he already did.

"Awkward is one word to describe it," Henry replied to his red head friend as he eyed the food in front of them, the teen skipped out on dinner last night and was rather hungry that morning.

The teen would spoon two eggs onto his plate as he spoke"do you think I could hide out during the wedding or would I get in trouble?" Sending a small grin toward Rose since he obviously meant it as a joke before he would add a few sausages and some black berries to his plate.

Henry would look over at Rose as he took a bite of sausage and would chew plus shallow it before speaking" I skipped dinner last night," not seeing it as a big deal since he almost always skipped dinner, " anyway if that's all you wanted to say to me then my vote goes to whatever you choose and I have a book that I want to read."

Rose smirked a little at Henry's joke, and chuckled a little. "I don't think so," she said, trying to sound casual. Rose was a little confused, though. She didn't want her mother to get married, but she wanted to support her mother and do anything she could to make her happy. If this made her mother happy, she was okay with it. She knew Henry didn't want the wedding to happen either, but didn't he at least want to be there for his father? He was his father, after all. Right? Then Rose remembered that Henry had little to no bond with his father at all. And that was kind of sad. Rose looked down at the food on the table, considering eating something. But she knew that she wouldn't, at least not right now. "I know you're not very close with your dad, but I know he would want you to be there. Even if he wasn't there for you."

Henry seemed really hungry, and explained to Rose that he had skipped dinner last night. She furrowed her brow. How did he want her to react to that? Did he want her to be concerned? "Okay." She said. It was strange since it was off topic about what they had been talking about. Maybe he was trying to change the subject?

Rose wasn't usually one to skip a meal on purpose. On days that were really bad for Rose, sometimes she would accidentally skip a meal. But she never did it on purpose. Growing up in a family where there was almost barely enough, Rose savored the times that she could eat all that she could hold. She knew her siblings at Hogwarts did, too. Especially the boys. I mean, it was free food. Who would pass up free food?

The Slytherin told her that his vote would just go on her vote. Rose sighed quietly. "That's what I was gonna say," she murmured. But she would just pick something she would think Henry would vote for, or do what he said and put his vote with hers. He mentioned that he had a book to read.

It vaguely felt like he was trying to get away from her. But she did have one more thing she wanted to ask him. "Actually- one more thing. Then you can go read your book in peace. Are you okay? I mean, with Anna running away and not seeing Arthur and your dad not being there for you... This marriage is so much different for you than for me." She didn't want to say it out loud, but he didn't really have much of a family. "You're allowed to say no," she added quietly. Rose herself hadn't ever said that. That she wasn't okay. She hadn't ever really been given the chance to. But she wanted to give Henry the chance to talk to someone about all this. Even if he pushed her away to go read his book, she wanted to check with him about all this. She wanted to know what was really going through his mind, underneath the jokes and the sarcasm and the avoidance of the whole thing.

Henry would nod a little to his response of the joke he said which the teen didn't extractly see how it was a joke but move it pass the fact since the conversation did as well.

The teen would listen to the red heads words about how his father would want him there and how he wasn't there for him and the same things he heard multiple times from his brother or neighbor's or such and the boy just nodded slightly to them. Henry no longer cared about his fathers opinion or wanted his approval, that was his mistake first year.

The year before Henry would have tried hard to not get any detentions, get all O's in ever class, make friends and get past his anxiety to become popular. The term wanted to do something that would make his father proud but now he couldn't care less about the fact, his father never sent him a owl or mention any of it besides from two howlers which only commented on the bad things.

Henry didn't care that his father wasn't there for him or want his approval anymore, he had his brother and that seemed to be enough for the young teen.

Henry caught her furrowed brow and words but didn't think to much on it. He was use to skipping dinners, choosing to spend them studying or practicing duel instead and was never bothered by the fact. Granted he could see the appeal of dinner at Hogwarts, free food that was mouth watering and cooked for hours but the boy never was one to be motivated by food or remembered it most days. Most days he would forget to eat all together, which probably explained how he was skinny but not muscular.

Henry thought about leaving to the hufflepuff table so he could sit with Logan but decided against the fact since he was already eating and didn't want Rose to get the idea that he was trying to avoid her or didn't want to be with her. So he decided he would stay.

"It's just decorations or bouquets Rosie and for a wedding that will already be awkward, just choose whatever I reckon but if you want your siblings should be around, we can write something quick back now and have it done," Henry spoke before spooning some egg into his mouth which tasted like warm butter and nearly melted into his mouth. The teen would then reach for a sausage and try to take another bite which usually he had strange cravings of meat probably because of his fury problem but that day the sausage made him gag not that he showed it.

So Henry just set the sausage aside when he would pull a muffin onto his plate and heard Rose's words.

The teen would put on a emotionless statue like face and say nothing, he was unsure what to say. The marriage was definitely different for the two of them and he didn't know what Rose thought of it or how she was going through everything but he would have rather heard her and be there for her then the other way around.

The teen was used to concealing his emotions and keeping his thoughts to himself, so talking to them with others took him some time to do. But the truth was he wasn't okay, he was fall from okay but he hid this from others with library trips, studying, dueling practices, and jokes.

The young teen hadn't technically talked to anyone about his twin running away properly and how that affected him, how it was affecting him. He hadn't had a chance to talk about his father's engagement and the upcoming marriage with anyone yet even if he wanted to. And he also worried that the upcoming summer he won't be able to see his older brother as much as in past years.

Henry did need someone to talk you but wouldn't... couldn't... not yet at least

"Your right it is different and I rather not talk about but what about you? How are you dealing with all of this? Are you okay?" Henry asked before taking bite of his muffin trying not to let his thoughts consume him.and hoping their conversation didn't just take a awkward turn.

As far as reading expressions goes, Rose was fairly good at it.

As far as hiding your emotions goes, Henry was very good at that.

Rose and Henry were good friends, and Rose's best guess would be that Henry did not feel comfortable in this situation. When he was comfortable, he was joking. Well, technically, when he was uncomfortable, he was joking then, too. But his joking now didn't feel as carefree as it usually did. Maybe Rose was just being paranoid, but he didn't seem quite as happy as normal.

Maybe she shouldn't have brought it up. Maybe she should have taken it differently. Maybe she should have caught him some other time. Rose had a spreading feeling of dread that she had just ruined his whole day. She bit her lip. Why had she come up to him? Why hadn't she asked him if it was okay if she could talk to him? Why hadn't she been more sensitive, and a better friend? She should have just left it alone. She zoned out for just a little bit thinking about this, but Henry's words snapped her back to the conversation. No use thinking about what could have been, right?

He called her Rosie, which she still wasn't sure if she liked or not. But if he was going to give her a nickname, she would give him a nickname. "Alright, then, Mr. Knight." She smirked. "They should be around soon. I find that I naturally attract them when I need them."

Henry seemed to pause at her question, considering it. She watched him carefully, trying to pick up any signs about things, which was, again, especially hard with Henry. He did respond, simply brushing off the question, saying that he didn't want to talk about it. She squinted at him a half-second before deciding that she didn't believe him. If he was going to brush it off, that meant that he wasn't okay. Who would not "want to talk about it" if he was okay? If he was okay, he would just say so, right? But you could never tell with Henry, really. He asked her the same question, and she paused to think of her answer.

For a while, no. No, she hadn't been okay. She hadn't been okay with her father's replacement and she hadn't been okay with her and her siblings' replacement. She hadn't been okay with an addition to their family, and she hadn't been okay with her consent not even being considered. As a family, they had usually asked for permission. But her mother had just jumped to say yes when she had been asked the most important question of her and her kids' lives, without a glance towards them. She hadn't even considered their opinion before making the decision. And Rose had hated it. She hadn't been okay with her fight with her mother. She hadn't been okay with her mother almost dying. She hadn't been okay for the longest time. But for now, actually? She was beginning to be okay with it all. She wanted her mother, her siblings, and her friends to be happy, and she felt almost okay. Which was a lot better than not okay.

Before she could tell him this, though, she was interrupted.

"Rose! Tell this gnome-head that Beaters are important to a Quidditch game!" Gabriel Moon shouted, Franklin and Faith in his wake. "Faith is avoiding us."

Objections came from both his older siblings. "I'm hungry!" Faith exclaimed, taking a seat on the other side of Rose and serving herself much like Henry had.

"Well, technically, point-wise, they're unimportant to the overall goal of-" Frankie started.

"They're there for a reason!" Gabe retorted.

"I think Gabe is right, though," Faith admitted, eating another sausage. "Ya can't mess with perfection."

Frankie gasped dramatically, and murmured, "Traitor. We had a pact!"

"A pact where I have to agree with you all the time?" Faith smirked.

"That would be nice," Frankie turned his head on his side.

"Rose, what do you think?"

The redhead froze. "I mean... uhm, both of you have points-"

Gabe sighed loudly. "Here is a Rose in her natural habitat, doing the thing where she tries to be like Mom and validate everyone and be a good person." Gabe rolled his eyes on the word 'validate.' Apparently it was one of those words that wasn't used enough to be important to him.

"What- I don't try to be like Mom. Do I send you letters asking your opinions about my wedding?" Rose made a smooth segue into the matter that she had actually wanted to talk to them about.

Faith looked up from her eggs curiously, but the boys wouldn't take it. "Don't change the subject!" Gabe snapped. This was apparently very important to him. "Henry, what do you think? You're much smarter than Frankie."

Frankie opened his mouth to protest, but begrudgingly decided against it. Rose rolled her eyes. "You don't have to answer that," she told Henry.

Henry was used to putting others before himself, he did it with his friends all the time. He preferred to help and listened to his friends before they could do the same to him.

The second year also had experience in hiding his emotions, he found it easily to hide them and put up a barrier between him and the rest of the world before others realize he was a outsider or awkward or a failure.

Henry knew Rose long enough that she was the same at a sense, she never admitted to not being okay and she usually put others before themselves. They should be quite a pair then when they became step siblings.

Henry took another piece of muffin, blueberry, and as he ate the young teen thought silently to himself.

Maybe I should tell her... maybe I should tell her that I'm not okay and tell her why, tell her that I'm struggling and can't sleep and distract myself with books and dueling pratice and friends and everything else... Arthur does want me to talk to someone...

No... no I can't! I can't do that it her! That will be selfish and wrong, especially since Rose needs me. I need to be there for her and help her, not the other way around. I can keep everything in here for a bit longer away but right now I have to help Rose. I have to be here for her.

The boy would take another piece when he would raise a slight eyebrow to Rose who called him 'Mr. Knight' with her words, Henry caught her smirk as well. The young teen would give her a smirk also as he spoke" someone's all formal all of a sudden, what's the occasional Rosie," he added with a smirk before nudging her playfully in her shoulder with his as he spoke" I'm trying to find a nickname for you and Rosie is unoriginal but currently it's all I have, but don't worry it will change to something better as long as yours changes as well," letting out a small laugh before turning back to his plate.

Henry thought about bringing some sausage back for his feline; Loki as for a moment their conversation fell silent.

Henry had time to rethink Rose's question from before, is he okay? No he was certainly not. Does he want to talk to someone? Yes he did and among his friends, Rose would be near the top next to Logan but he was still unsure.

Currently Logan was the only one at Hogwarts who Henry let his barrier down to and confided in her, so doing it to someone else no matter how close was a bit intimating to the teen.

Although he did it once, he let his barrier down and his emotions were on full display when he told Rose that he was a werewolf. So he trusted her enough to do it and confide in her then what was stoping him?

Maybe it was the others in the hall around them? Perhaps he was afraid of them hearing then laughing at him? Maybe he was worried that Rose would judge him and not want to be his friend anymore? Maybe it was just his anxiety that kept him silent?

Henry would place the muffin on his plate and eye Rose, not knowing that she was thinking the same thing. Not knowing that she was wondering if she should admit her feelings and say that she wasn't okay. Not knowing that the two were thinking about similar things.

Henry would brush a strand of hair out of his face and take a breath, he did want to talk someone and besides from Logan, Rose would be the next one or near the top. The boy would turn to Rose ready to suggest that perhaps they should go somewhere else to discuss if they were both either okay or not okay when he met her eyes.

But he would fail to speak as well, three others join them. Rose's siblings.

Henry thought it was kind of cute and perhaps a little humourous how she and her siblings reacted. Henry would turn back to his food when the youngest, Gabe, Henry was pretty sure it was Gabe was talking about a argument he was in with his brother about the importance of beaters.

Henry listened to the arguement between Gabe and Frankie, giving Frankie a small nod with a smile before looking at his plate and listening to their words.

Faith joined in as well and the young teen smiled a bit at their conversation before deciding to pull the letter that he recieved from his father earlier out of his pocket. He would open it and began to read when Rose was asked the question of the arguement.
Dear Henry,

I know we have never been close Henry but with my wedding fast approaching I want to change that, I want to get to know you. Please stop ignoring my letter Henry, I do want to change and be closer to you. If your still upset up the howler, then I'll apology again. I'm sorry.

Anyway I just wanted to inform you that a day or two before the wedding this summer holiday I arranged for you, Arthur, and myself to hangout I believe and get to know each other. I could be fun for the three of us before the wedding. Please write back your opinions on this Henry, it's happening whether or not you like it initially.

Also just quick, I believe Pearl sent her children a letter asking for them to help decided different things for the wedding, I would appreciate it if you help decide as well.

Sincerely,

Your Father
Henry felt his breathing quicken and grip tighter on the letter, he felt sick. The young teen took a breath and try to block the words from his head as he folded it up and slid it in his pocket before looking up at the small group and giving a smile to Gabe's explanation on Rose. It was sort of funny.

Henry then heard Rose try to change the subject to the content of her letter, he wanted to help her but wasn't sure since that seemed like a family matter and he wasn't family.

Henry thought he should even leave because he felt like he was imposing on a family conversation between the four but was taken back when Gabe asked him.

Henry would nod toward Rose's words and for a brief moment his mind jumped to his friend's; Cash and Scarlett who both were wicked talented beaters at least in his opinion. Henry thought about his answer for a moment when he heard Franklin speak"quidditch is a mainly a point based system and Henry knows that Gabe so he'll probably agree with me or no one like Rose."

Henry however gave a smile and still felt rather awkward joining into a family conversation as he spoke" two of my friends are beaters; Scarlett and Cash and if I remember correctly they both along with the other beaters were the reason their teams won in their last game or so," before eyeing Gabe and giving the young boy a smile as he spoke" I agree with Gabe, beaters are quite important in the game to guard their teammates but also keep opposing chasers from scoring or seekers from getting the snitch. They can change the outcome of quidditch matches actually. "

The young teen would then eye Rose when the attention was off of him and mouth "sorry" to her before smiling at Gabe's comment, " Henry's smarter than Frankie! He agrees with me that beaters are important and can change the outcome in the game," Henry was enjoying listening to the siblings and let then continue for a bit before brushing a few hairs from his face and jumping in when no one was speaking as he spoke" Rose, got a letter about a certain awkward wedding that she wants to bug you guys about," the young teen would give Rose a playfully smile before going back to his muffin.

The Amaaaaaazing @Henry Knight <3
Henry seemed to be thinking over a lot of things, but he teased her back when she called him Mr. Knight. The redhead huffed dramatically. "To be fair, you do use fancy words way more often than I do. There's not a good nickname for the name Henry, is there? Not fair. That means I have to be creative and call you something like..." She paused, searching for a nickname fitting of Henry, then referenced her earlier point, saying, "...like Fancy-pants."

The Slytherin boy reacted quite how Rose thought he would to her rambunctious siblings joining them. He didn't talk very much, mostly listening. Rose did notice the letter that arrived for him, but she didn't think it would be appropriate to ask him about it. He would tell her if he wanted to, and she could ask him later, without her nosy family in the mix.

But what Rose hadn't expected was his input on the conversation. True, he had been prompted, but she had expected him to kind of wave it off. She supposed it was more like him to tell his opinion on the subject, so hopefully that meant he was a little more comfortable around her siblings. They would soon be his siblings as well, so she sure hoped he did. The loyal friend he was, he took Gabe's side because of Scarlett and Cash, two of his good friends. That was definitely like him to defend his friends.

He mouthed an apology to her, and her eyebrows furrowed. Why was he apologizing? Maybe he thought that she would have wanted him to take a neutral side like Rose had? She hadn't really, she liked it when he had shared his opinion.

Gabe planted his hands on his hips. "Henry's smarter than Frankie! He agrees with me that beaters are important and can change the outcome in the game," the first year retorted.

As Frankie had now been outnumbered, he sighed and said, "Oh, I give up." Gabe smirked. The four of them and Jessie had been debating over quite meaningless things for some time now, and they had learned that once they were outnumbered, there was very little chance of winning the argument.

Thankfully, Henry changed the subject to what Rose had wanted to talk to them about. He did do it in the most teasing way he could have, but he was deserving of a thank you. Rose rolled her eyes. "Thank you, Fancy-pants." She handed the letter to Faith, who took it from Rose and finished chewing the sausage that she had just stuffed in her mouth. Faith took in a breath like she was about to read the letter out loud, then looked over at Rose.

"Eat something, or I'll have Frankie shove it in your mouth," she said. While the words may have been threatening, her tone was joking, and her intent, Rose knew, was out of love. Rose had always seemed to eat less than her siblings, because when she was anxious she didn't have an appetite, and Faith had sometimes made it a priority that she eat anyway.

"Hey!" Frankie retorted. "I never agreed to-"

"For two sickles and food in your sister, you would have," Faith glanced up at Frankie. The look on the third year's face said that she wasn't wrong. The blonde girl kept her eyes on Rose until the redhead took a muffin and bit into it, even though she didn't feel hungry. Faith started reading the letter aloud to her brothers, and Rose turned to Henry. They had already heard this.

"Sorry about them," Rose said softly. "They're a little wild and... Loud." She laughed a little. "But I guess you'll have to get used to it. You'll have to live with them soon enough. I've lived with them for over a decade, and I'm still alive." She smiled a little.

Faith's eyes lit up a little at the request that their mother had for them, while the boys seemed a little more hesitant, like Rose and Henry had. Faith had been loyal to their mother to a fault, always seeming to defend her and share interests with her. "I'm glad she said to ask you, as well, Henry," Faith said, looking over the list. "Because these boys here will fight over every other item on this list for no other reason than because they want to disagree with each other."

The boys' hesitant looks turned to playful glares, again proving that she wasn't wrong. "Let me see that." Frankie sat down, Gabe following suit, reached out, and took the letter from her, scanning the list. "I bet somebody like you would choose purple sparkles instead of white," he tutted at Gabe jokingly, to hyperbolize Faith's point.

Gabe rolled his eyes took the paper from Frankie dramatically, saying, "What's wrong with purple sparkles?" he looked over the paper, "Oh! And I bet you would choose to have albino yams for dinner. How scandalous!" Rose, who had looked over the list, knew that neither sparkles nor albino yams were on the list at all.

Rose took another bite of her muffin, rolling her eyes. The two blonde boys continued on like this, getting more dramatic and ridiculous each time, until they were debating on whether to invite Bigfoot or Sasquatch to the wedding, as they clearly couldn't invite both. Faith stood up to try to grab the paper from the both of them, holding back her laughs and trying to keep them on track. Rose stood up and easily snatched it from Frankie when he wasn't paying attention to her, stopping the shenanigans. "Now," she said, a little smirk on her face. "I'm assuming, Faith, you're the only one who actually wants to make decisions on the wedding. Am I right?" She glanced at all the boys present, and her brothers nodded, then whisper-bickered about if Bigfoot's feet were really big enough to be accommodated for the wedding. "Mkay. So Faith, pretend we all came to a conclusion together, and our conclusion is whatever your decision is. Flip a coin if you have to."

Faith murmured her consent, taking the paper back and tucking it safely into her Hufflepuff robes, and that was the end of Rose "bugging" them about the letter.

Henry is a bookworm, he always enjoyed reading and learning which explained how he keeps top marks in all of his classes and uses odd words occasionally. His word choices weren't extractly fancy just not something that one would use everyday so he understood why Rose described the words as fancy and why she would give him the nickname; fancy pants.

"There not fancy words, just dilly words that I found in different books," Henry replied choosing to use silly which was another word for odd or weird almost to prove Rose right with his ability to choose fancy words over plain ones.

Henry always enjoyed using words that either others didn't know the meaning to or didn't use on a regular basis however the young teen couldn't exactly say them all the time since he was afraid of being labeled a outsider or a freak or a failure or being out casted. Fortunately the young teen felt comfortable around Rose to use them and smiled a bit as he playfully spoke" I guess am just a logophile, why do you have Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia Rosie?" The young teen smiled at his words with a small laugh unsure if the red head knew that Logophile meant a lover of long words and the other meant someone with the phobia of long words.

As for nicknames go, Henry gave out quite the few to his friends. All except for Rose and a few others which meant he needed one for Rose and quickly, he wanted something that was oriental and creative but also something that fit her personality or meant her. It was a challenge but the young teen always enjoyed a challenge or puzzle especially one that included words or books or facts or academics.

As for nicknames given by friends went, Henry had quite the few and same were more creative while others were not. A few he remembered on the top of his head of 'Charm' which was his best friend's; Logan Baird nickname for him and 'H' which was Cash's nickname for him. Then there were others like 'morning glory' and 'K' and also others both from friends and family. However Henry won't tell Rose any of these because he wants to see want she can come up with on her own, he does believe that she can come up with a great one.

"I have to be creative to when it comes to your nickname to you know," Henry spoke and thought for a moment about the name 'Fancy Pants' before he would reply with a smile, " Fancy Pants? Alright it's not that bad and pretty creative," Henry laughed a bit and brushed back a few strands of hair before composing himself enough to speak" my nickname for you will either be Rosie or Artemis. Do you like those or should I think of another?" Henry wanted to make sure that Rose liked the nickname as well before he would refer to her as it.

Rose's siblings were definitely different compared to what Henry was use to. They were rather rambunctious and full of energy but also kind to each other and close. It was odd how much the young teen enjoyed watching Rose and her siblings, it was like watching a family interact. It was almost reminding him of his own family before the accident.

That was before the young teen remembered that they would be his family soon, not by blood but by marriage. It was still hard for him to imagine, he was going from a small brown family to a larger one. He was going to be thrown into a family that was already whole and cause a disturbance. He was getting a whole new family, being placed in a area where he would have no one while they were getting a new father and two new brothers and technically missing sister. The young teen was so focused on how it was affecting him and his anger toward himself and his father that he almost forget how it must have him for Rose and Frankie and Gabe and Jess and Faith. It wasn't the same and probably would never be.

While the debate continued on, Henry noticed that Rose saw him read over and stuff the letter into his bag. He didn't want to lie to her after all it concerned her to, sort of since their parents were getting married but he wasn't that uncomfortable with telling a whole group so he whispered to her, "I'll tell you later," he was referring to the letter before giving his input in their debate.

Once he finished and the others continued, Henry noticed that Rose had her brow furrowed when he mouthed a apology to her. That made him question to himself silently that perhaps she wanted his opinion or wanted him to join the conversation.

The young teen didn't think she wanted him to especially since it seemed like one between her and her siblings, a family one and he wasn't family. Even after the marriage, Henry wouldn't consider himself family because he would be a strange almost coming in to live with them who they live together for nearly a decade. Bonding and creating memories together. And Henry would be thrown in that summer and be out of placed in the mix.

The debate seemed to end as Henry stated at his plate. The only item that covered his plate was sausages that he haven't touch at all and a half eaten muffin that was in his hand that he took another bite at when he heard Frankie's words. Apparently he had given up which seemed odd to the young since a arguement or debate in his house would usually continue until one saw was proven right or someone forfeited.

Usually it was either him or Arthur proven right but occasionally Annabeth to however it was usually anyone against Annabeth who would forfeit. That girl was determined to prove her point even if she was wrong which happened most times she argued with Henry about something that was in a book or had to do work classes.

"My pleasure, Artemis," Henry replied back with a playful smirk when he caught Rose's eye roll and use of the new nicknames. Apparently they were catching on and he wasn't about to complain, he currently could call her; Rose, Rosie, or Artemis and all three sounded rather good to the young teen especially Artemis.

For a while he was into greek mythology and would study it for hours which is how he got into Percy Jackson actually. So the young teen figured what better nickname for his close friend and soon to be step sister than Artemis; the goddess of wild animals, the hunt, chastity, and childbirth. Artemis is also the twin sister of Apollo.

Henry thought that Artemis was amazing and always loved to learn about her so she thought it was a fitting name for his friend who he thought of as amazing and intelligent and kindhearted. Not to mention they could do cool things together that involved them being Artemis and Apollo.

Henry would take the last bite of his muffin, finishing up as he watched Faith read the letter before making a comment on Rose and her habit of not eating that also included Frankie apparently.

Henry actually noticed that Rose didn't eat a lot like him, especially the mornings where they sat together and talked about normal stuff like classes or families or books or animals or just joked with each other most days. It was probably another reason that the two got along so well probably.

Henry would noticed Faith read the letter that he already read with Rose earlier so he would move the plate of sausages toward her as he spoke in a low voice as to not disturb the rest, " I haven't touch them and probably won't eat them, their pork also and I frankly remember you liking pork right," Henry smiled toward her before moving his head closer to her to listen to her words.

"I would say rambunctious or rowdy but your words worked to," Henry replied softly with a small smile before agreeing with her since she was right after all, "Can anyone truly get use to it?" Henry asked as a joke and letting a little laugh slip in before he would finish softly, "I'm sure I'll get use to it and if I don't I can visit Art whenever things get to chaotic," something that the teen would end up doing no matter what since just like how Rose was close with her siblings, he was closer with his elder brother, "your still alive but how is your sanity?"

Henry would playful smirk toward Rose since his last comment was a joke before he would softly smile toward the girl as he spoke"I'm sure the summer holiday will be fine and we'll also have each other," the young teen would smile at the red head letting his blue eyes stare into her green which slightly reminded him of Alexa's eyes which were truly stunning and unique in every way before shaking out of his thought and smiling at Rose, his close and good friend who would soon be his step sister.

Henry nodded toward Faith's words before directing his head to Gabe and Frankie who apparently wanted to make a joke out of the blonde girl's words that they argue over everything.

Henry listened to the two for a bit and couldn't help but laugh at the scene since it was amusing and quite entertaining before talk about the guest list came up and Henry remembered the letter stuff inside his pocket.

His stomachs dropped but barrier remained up to hide away all other emotions besides his smile. He wondered if the guest list was on the letter to and if their parents wanted their opinion on that as well.

Henry heard and watched Rose take the letter from her brothers and hand it back to Faith. He would nod toward her words in agreement since he didn't care about deciding anything for any wedding but the guest list and who was on it was still on his mind.

"Is the guest list on that Faith? Could I see it?" Henry asked the blonde who handed him the letter from her robes and he listened to her words, " I think it is, why? Also make sure to give it back to me when your done please," the teen nodded to her as he turned the letter around and commented" of course."

Henry looked over the guest list and to his horror he saw certain names on it that he would have never imagined would be there. He couldn't believe his father would invite them, they were horrible people especially after the first meeting with them last summer holiday.

"I can't believe it, how could he invite them," Henry spoke and heard questions from the others around him but he would look up at Gabe's voice who ask a question that sounded like "who is invited" But couldn't be sure by the amount of questions being posed to him and the amount of voice from others around them at nearby seats and tables.

There were others questions and comments from the others but that was the one that made Henry look up and looked more at Rose than the rest with his blue eyes wide with shock and few stands of hair over his eyes as he spoke
" my fathers family."

Rose rolled her eyes a little. She was only teasing Henry, and she was glad to have a sign that he knew that. He was purposefully using big words because of her comment. Even though Henry liked Rose and her siblings' banter, Rose didn't know if he knew how much she enjoyed their own banter. She smirked a little. "I have no clue what those words mean. Like I said, you use fancy words in your fancy accent." Every time she said "fancy," it was in the most flawless British accent.

Henry gave her his own nickname and she smiled. It wasn't really something that she controlled that time, even though she usually was good enough at trapping her emotions inside. Maybe she felt like she didn't have to do it with Henry, or maybe the smile was too quick for her to decide if it was okay or not. "I love them," she responded happily. Not many people had bothered to give her a nickname. Her father had given her a nickname, and so had Eyre. She had loved that they called her something a little different than everybody else did. Of course, Anastasia Beckett had given her a nickname that was less than loving, but was the exception to nicknames. Rosie was kind of an unoriginal nickname, but Artemis had so much thought and love put into it. Rose couldn't help but smile at being given a nickname that somebody thought embodied her, not just added a letter to her name to make it sound cuter. She didn't know what her obsession with nicknames were. Maybe it just made her feel like she was worth it. Like she was liked. Like somebody was willing to take time for her.

Anyway. Rose was still curious about the letter, and Henry noticed, telling her he would tell her about it later. She didn't need to know, but if Henry wanted to show it to her, she really wanted to know. Hey, curiosity may have killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back.

While the redhead took a bite out of her muffin, Henry's plate was offered up to her. She looked at the plate for a second and then looked up at him. "I- thanks. Yeah, pork is one of my favorites." She smiled fondly at him. Wow, she had really lucked out in the sibling department, even the step sibling department. She took another bite out of her muffin, eating it a little faster now, so she could get to her sausages.

Again, he used words that were fancy. "Fancy-pants," she murmured under her breath teasingly. She laughed a little at his jokes about her siblings, and then at his comment about her sanity, she said, "Oh, I thought my sanity's status would be pretty clear by now." He said that they would always have each other. "Of course. You'll always have me."

Confusion sparked in Rose as Henry asked about the guest list. "When I read over it, the guest list had more been a heads up than something we needed to decide or vote on," Rose said as Henry took the paper from Faith, who was willing to give it over.

"What is it?" Gabe asked. Henry didn't really respond to this, as he was looking over the paper.

Rose and her siblings glanced between themselves, communicating without words that none of them knew what was going on. "Henry?"

The Slytherin looked up at her voice and said that his father's family was invited, in not the happiest way.

"Are you not on good terms with them or something?" Rose asked.

Gabe took this as an opportunity to start talking. "It's no big deal- we haven't had contact with our father's family since Faith set their curtains on fire." With a glare from both Rose and Faith, he took that as a sign to stop talking. Rose knew his intentions were good, but he wasn't really helping anything.

Henry pride himself in the amount of words he knows and the amount of books he read but you'll never actually hear him say that or bring it up, he prided himself about those two facts but was also rather humble about them to especially when around others.

Listening to Rose and her siblings banter remained the young teen of the banter he shared with his own siblings at home, it was fun to hear as he smiled a little. Most times the teens was quiet and kind around others however with friends, particularly close ones he tended to joke a bit and playfully banter with them. Mainly with Logan and Cash however, probably because Henry knew those two the longest out of majority of his friends and was closer to them as well. Still he occasionally would banter with Rose which always brought a smile to his face especially when it occured during a study session or meal.

"You gave me a nickname because of my fancy accent that half of the student body has?" Henry replied looking toward Rose with a rise of a eyebrow before continuing" how original maybe I should call you Rosie," and Henry playfully but lightly nudged her shoulder with his at the comment as took a moment and breath before he would speak" for the words, logophile means a lover of long words and Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia is the fear of long words." Henry smiled toward Rose and enjoyed this, he enjoyed joking with his friends and also teaching or helping them with different subjects or topics.

Henry smiles grew a little when he heard Rose's reaction on his nickname for her, he was glad that she liked it and felt a bit more as ease that she did. He try to come up with creative nicknames for his friends, ones that either described his friends or meant something special to him. Each nickname he gave his friends meant something different to the teen and he always took his time when coming up with a nickname that he would hope they would like since he try thi be original or creative.

"I'm glad you like them," Henry replied smiling. The teen had a odd relationship with nicknames, he tried to come up with a original and meaningful nickname for his friends. Well minus Scarlett, since she's the only one who he hadn't thought of a original one for the girl yet and would continue to call her Scar.

However when it came for nicknames for him, Henry is welcoming toward them and liked knowing what his friends would nickname him. It provided him a type of warmth and sense that he was part of something and no longer a outsider.

Henry smiled around the group and currently while he did feel a bit like a outsider, for the most part he felt like he was part of the group as he nodded toward Rose. His memory was rather strong and when it came to his friends and family he could remember most about them so it made sense that he remembered that pork was a food that his close friend and future step sister enjoyed.

Henry didn't mind giving the girl the sausage and usually put his friends needs above his own. Also he gave her the sausage because occasionally now he found himself unable to eat or the occasional gag reflexive at the sight or perhaps smell of meat. It was a odd sensation for the young teen especially since he use to get strange cravings for different type of meats a few years back from his fury problem.

Henry hadn't told anyone about it yet and was good at hiding it so to the others it just looked like Henry cared for Rose and offered her his pork sausage.

Henry rolled his eyes a little in a playful way at Rose's comment when he used longer words before smiling again, that breakfast was fun engaging in playful banter with Rose and talking with her siblings who will soon to become his own in a few short months.

"It is but I thought I would ask to be polite," Henry whispered to Rose with a playful tone and smile, eyeing her a moment in her green eyes letting blue meet green for a moment before he would turn back to the test of her siblings so they didn't catch on to Rose and Henry's side whispered conversation.

Henry smiled a little and would turn back to Rose as he whisper a reply, " and you'll always have me," the term felt a bit more comfortable hearing Rose's voice in its natural American accent and sweetness. Looking in her green eyes. The moment felt perfect.

It was only a moment before Henry's attention was turned back to the group with a question that popped into his mind and haunted his thoughts.

Henry nodded toward Rose as he heard her words but was focused on the guest list and he read it over and to his horror saw his father's family's written close to the bottom.

Henry only replied when he heard Rose and Gabe's voices, telling them what he was worried about. What he was staring at.

Henry heard Rose's question and Gabe's comment, nodding to both before turning back to the letter. Reading the names over again and again, feeling dread build in his stomach as he imagined his first meeting with them and how awful things were.

Henry took a breath, eyes still on their names as he spoke softly" my siblings and I only met them once, I'm not sure what the of terms we are on with them," then teen couldn't believe his father invited them and didn't know what to think. He felt numb and felt almost sick at the thought of seeing those people again.

Henry would hand the letter back to Faith and let the others continue their conversion as he slipped a piece of parchment and pen from his bag, placing it on his knee as he wrote wrote the following down.
The letter is from my father. He's been sending me a few, wanting to reconnected and bond. Trying to forget the past and now he planned a day over the summer holiday for him, Arthur, and me to hangout.
Henry slipped the pen back into his bag as he took out the letter from his father and folded into the parchment note before handing both to Rose under the table as he took a breath then spoke" I'll see you all later, I have some charms to do that I forgot about," Henry nodded toward each with a smile choosing to smiled at Rose last as he spoke softly" I'll see you later, Artemis. "

Henry collected his thing and slipped them into his bag, closing it before picking it up and pulling it over his right shoulder. The young term would rise from his seat and start to thought the hall toward the doors.

Henry felt thoughts circle around his mind as he exited the hall. His stomach turned and ears ranged with thoughts. One voice rose above the others however and that was Rose Moon's asking the question that she did moments ago.

'Are You Okay'

'Are you okay'

'Are you, Henry Knight okay'

The question rang continuously in Henry's mind. The answer seemed clear yet distant. It was suppose to be a simple question followed by a simple answer but to the blue eyes teen it was anything but simple.

His answer was to pass it by, say he was fine when he wasn't, and asked her if she was okay. Classic Henry, putting his friends and family above himself as usual. His loyalty was his strongest trait no matter what house his robe states.

However Henry Knight was far from fine especially after reading the guest list. His father invited his family to it, his father wanted to introduce his family to Pearl and Rose and her siblings at his wedding. His father was eagar for them to meet his family when he waited twelve years to introduce them to his own kids.

Henry felt himself sprint through the halls as his thoughts clouded his mind.

He knew this experience is 0different for him then it is for Rose. She was getting a new father and new set of grandparents, uncle, aunt, and cousins but still have part of her original family. She'll still have others who will be going through the same thing and that will understand what she is going through and will have someone to talk to about how things changed from before.

She won't be alone

Henry however only saw his future to be alone. Closed off from others. Isolated from the rest. No one to confide in or no one who will experience the change with him.

He never knew his mother's family, had only met his father's family once and it didn't end on good terms, his twin sister ran away somehow that no one knew where, his father lost touch with him a few years back, and his brother won't be able to spend as much time with him that summer than in the past now that he now his own place and had his auror tests coming up. In conclusion he would be alone for another confusing and chaotic time of the young teens life.

Henry walked faster through the corridors, heading back to his dormitory and orange feline; Loki as thoughts spiraled around his mind along with Rose's voice and her question. Unsure what to do or how to feel. Unsure who to confide in or what to say. Unsure what his future holds. Unsure what he should do.

'Are You Okay'

I'm fine

'Are You Okay'

Fine. I'm fine.

'Are you Okay'

I'm fine!

'Are You Okay'

Leave me alone, please

'Are You Okay'

Just Stop already! Go away, please

'Are You Okay'

Define Okay

'Are You Okay'

It doesn't matter

'Are You Okay'

Stop it, please stop it

'Are You Okay'

I don't know alright!

'Are You Okay'

I don't know!

'Are You Okay'

I don't know!

'Are You Okay'

I don't- I'm fine! Fine!

'Are You Okay'

I'm fine!

'Are You Okay'

I'm fine!

'Are you Okay'

I'm fine! Alright complete fine! So stop it please!

'Are You Okay'

No... no I'm not

I'm not okay

I'm not okay with anything. With Anna running away, with dad marrying Pearl, with moving again, I'm not okay alright. I'm not.

Henry ran through his common room and into his dormitory. Passing everything as he ran straight to his bunk room, Loki sat on his bed and would look up at the teen when he entered.

Henry would crawl onto his bed, hugging his knees close as he buried his head into them and would softly whisper to his feline.

"I am not okay."
