Ellie was born to an Irish mother, a witch by the name of Ciara, and a Scottish-English father, a muggle by the name of Lucas. Ellie is an only child, but has many cousins, who she treats as siblings as some of them live with her.

Before Ellie found out she was a witch and moved to Hogwarts, she lived in Bearsden, Glasgow. She lived with her mom, dad, maternal aunt and uncle, and the cousins on that side of the family. Their house was quite cozy, not poor, but not exactly rich as they needed to feed 8 people in the house. They also gave lots of money to charity so that is expected.

They had quite the lot of pets, including Coconut and Bear the 3 year old Samoyeds, who were family pets, although Ellie shared a budgie with one of her cousins, named Baliey. They had quite the lot of rabbits as well all named after characters from books they liked. For instance Anne and Diana (Anne of Green Gables), Mary, Dickon, and Colin, (The Secret Garden)

Ellie went to Bearsden Primary School, and got in 2 weeks at Bearsden Academy, before she got the letter for hogwarts. Go back a year and a half, when she was 8, to the time Ellie had her first instance of magic.

It was when her first pet by herself, a pure white rat named angel, died. She stomped into her room on the top floor of their cottage, crying. She stayed up there for a while, and eventually around 8:40, fell asleep. Once morning came, she woke up to her family already at the breakfast table, discussing obviously something about her. They all bore tired expressions. She looked around and saw the lampshade looked as if somebody took a knife to it, the same looked as if for the curtain around the loveseat.

¨What is it? Did something happen? Ellie asked, expressively. She wiped her eyes and realized they were not tired expressions, they were joyful instead! Her mom stood up and walked over to her saying,¨You are officially a witch! When you got all sad last night, you were so frustrated about angel, that you didnt realize you had, with magic to be clear, shredded the curtain and lampshades! Of course, we will need to go get new ones, but while we are at it lets go get ice cream to celebrate!¨

It was one of the most exiting days of Ellie´s life.
