Blood Tainted Reputation
The decision to embark into exploring the world and away from the magical one was a rash one and influenced very much by emotions. If the seers she had come across a year back had not prophesied her plausible cause of death, perhaps she would not have left after Heinrich’s incident. But they did and she’d been haunted by the thought since. And for more than half a year had the teen been on the run until the wizards whom her parents sent finally found her. The adolescent had put up a fight, finally utilising her wand in a long time, abstaining from something as convenient as magic allowed her to stay hidden for far longer than she expected. Agile the teen was but two against one was far from a fair fight and only against her own will was she returned back to her family.forward dated 1st June

The Zuheirs was there upon her return to the Bezuidenhout manor including a very concerned Hadrian, her betrothed. The whole meeting seemed scripted, the genuinity present was questionable. With Hadrian later apologising - something Aurelia noticed, rare - in person for his previous attitude during the ball. No matter how much Aurelia wanted to deny, she in fact did have an infatuation for Hadrian, it was not just his pretty face, there was something about the way he spoke, his gaze, his words. The way he spoke made her momentary disregard all the many flaws he possessed. To forgive him, and for her to believe that he had forgiven her for disappearing without so much as a word. It was too easy, everything amended with such expedite. Perhaps everyone just wanted this incident behind them, it was better that way after all.
It came to light that Heinrich was not doing well in Hogwarts, and to the chagrin of her parents, Aurelia was adamant on her terms to return to school. After a bout of discussion, the verdict was clear, Heinrich joined Hadrian in Ilvermorny while Aurelia returned to Hogwarts. Chances that he would be bullied was slim with such connections with Hadrian Zuheir.
Now back in Hogwarts, the school remained the same old scottish castle she had entered three years ago, no noticeable alterations to the ancient structures. But walking down the halls, the many judgmental gazes and accompanying whispers did not go unnoticed. Having much insight from Heinrich, her dear brother who told her many with a generous heap of exaggeration, Aurelia knew much about the incidents that passed throughout her absence. With the cat out of the bag, the incentive to conceal the hideous scar exhibited on her neck was no longer. However, nothing really bothered the fifteen year old until she heard it, ‘monster hunter’. While passing through the courtyard, the word was uttered condescendingly by a first year with an ego far too big for such a small stature.
Such a term twisted her lips into a scowl. Yet the two words could not hold any more truth than it presented itself to mean. Indeed, the adolescent previously went on hunts on the occasion. Even then, without them having even acquainted, Aurelia did not appreciate the term used on her, especially not in such a manner intended to condemn. “You are quite right. And what might your name be, Little Slytherin?”

banner by Henry Llewellyn@Aurelia NotrésvaceThe movement of the castle had diminished from the former excitement of students as summer neared. The seasons were like the tides, the heat of the summer wave sweeping across the castle and removing the usual liveliness. One thing in particular the young Slytherin noticed were the eyes of other students, round with fright and apprehension, the rumors about this particular student were frightening indeed, setting her name perhaps as one of the more infamous ones around the school. When the senior Gryffindor disappeared, some of the students noticed her absence and a few even went out of their way to investigate the odd cause, asking questions to the few close relationships she had and putting pieces together. Regardless of the reason she had left for, it was quite an enigma that no one could figure out.
Violet wasn’t the first to notice the girl’s long brown hair and Gryffindor uniform in the corridors of the courtyard. Students were walking around with slight unease, exchanging glances and hushed whispers. Quite surprisingly, the person who was reigning the silence didn’t seem to be bothered by the rumors and the whispers. She seemed more intent in her own thoughts than the ones about her, especially now that she came back. Aurelia Notresvace was back in Hogwarts and her presence was felt - literally - by many.
When the senior Gryffindor brushed past, Violet could not help but notice quite a peculiar scar on her neck. She immediately muttered something that might just be inaudible to anyone else except for those in the very near vicinity passing by. However, this perhaps was a mistake.Violet wasn’t usually a scaredy cat, in fact, she was usually very hard to scare. But there was something about the senior girl that made Violet’s hands sweat, her heart beat faster. She carefully looked up from her book that she wasn’t paying attention to anymore, and looked at Aurelia’s intense gray-blue eyes.
“You are quite right. And what might your name be, Little Slytherin?”
“Violet Carrington.”She would reply, her tone mirroring the older girl’s own tone of voice. Violet was intelligent enough to know that the scars that Aurelia had on her neck weren’t normal to a student life and she respected that. It did give Aurelia an air of bravery and respect after all. However, she wasn’t going to respect someone who had addressed her with a degrading term “little”.

The girl's deep brown eyes were still stubbornly peeled onto her neck and Aurelia would not blame her. However, one thing she minded was the tone used against her, the girl required some lessons on manners served to her on a silver dish. If the winds had not been so relentless that day, her long locks of hair would have curtained over her shoulders as it typically did and obscured the nasty imprint on her integument. However, it was an element out of her control.
Sharp and assertive, a reflection of her own tone of voice would earn the first year an enigmatic raise of an eyebrow. "Violet. So what exactly have you heard about me to conclude such?" Spoken in a manner of challenge, Aurelia would ask. If a student like Violet, one whom she had not met or seen before this encounter knew such a piece of information, that meant that more student would at least have some knowledge about it. Whatever happened while she was gone must have been a decently large-scale occurrence. With a swipe of her hand, Aurelia would bring her tinted-auburn hair back down over her shoulders, the scar no longer in sight.

Well, lots of things. Violet started. You disappeared from the school for almost a year for no knowing reason, and left us all to ponder where you were... thought the Slytherin girl had only heard whispers, she was a good listener, stalking other student's conversations was fun and entertining, especially if it contained juicy gossip which she could keep for herself, so that she could ponder in her thoughts when she was bored about what in the world all of that talk was about. Aurelia's disappearance had been something that students did whisper a lot, something entertaining that she could listen to once and for all.
People have been talking about you. Talking about you a lot for the year. Things had started to calm down until I heard your name being shouted in the Hallways when there was some sort of commotion thinghy. I kept what I heard to myself. I figured that you might not like people talking about you so much... Maybe the last part was wrong. Maybe Aurelia had left Hogwarts that year to seek attention instead of doing whatever she had to do.
That scar you have.... Violet asked, looking at the senior lioness' neck. What made it so...uh, you know, scary...?

However daring this girl was, Aurelia presence was one that commanded respect and overall, fear. This girl had spoken, but Aurelia knew that what she had gotten were only from rumours. She could not speak for everyone. Moreover, her collections of friends were scarce, little to none, why was there to show so much concern over someone one barely knew? Was there really that much talk about her and about her disappearance.
Now it seemed like Violet had not been keeping up with the news at all. Of course, the scar. Something so personal to her, yet a beacon for unwanted attention. A dhampir bit her. "Dhampir." was all she replied. "So you heard from the rumours that I was a monster hunter?" She asked, prodding on the subject further. "And you believe the rumours?" At thirteen, her grandmother had introduced her granddaughter to her lifestyle. Indeed, some hunting was involved, but not entirely always. However, Aurelia never really considered the term herself. Yes, she had blood baited in the past but everything she did was usually for a reason.
"Violet, have you seen a dhampir before?" Aurelia asked. How much did the girl actually know? How much had she seen?
