Robert wasn't doing great. He had now been burned, forced to dance, and hit with the magical equivalent of a punch to the gut. To make things worse, the agile first-year on the other side of the piste seemed to be doing fine, fluidly dodging everything thrown at her. The Eagle had carefully watched Frost and Lea's past duels and knew she was very hard to hit, but somehow thought things might be different in this duel. However, he was still quite proud of himself for his improvement in stamina since his first duel. If he'd been hit this hard at the start of the year, there was absolutely no way that he would still be standing now.

What felt like no time after she was floating, was she plummeted to the floor, before that she had attempted to cast a spell at her opposing first year, but alas, she missed, and so did Robert. She coughed a bit after hitting the floor, but she would be alright, standing back up ready to go.

After missing Lea last round, Delilah would switch targets. Frost seemed an easier target, was possibly even not paying attention. The Knockback Jinx was well cast and aimed even better, slamming into the durable fourth year.

Whatever had been going on with Frost, she quickly snapped out of it. The moment almost seemed to happen in slow motion, the Hufflepuffs taking aim at Robert, the twin blue lights sailing toward him. He tried to avoid them, not even bothering to cast so he could invest all his energy into dodging. It wasn't enough. Both spells were nearly, if not perfectly aimed. They made impact, and in an instant, Robert was out, sprawled unconscious on the duelling platform.

"Pause!" The instruction came quickly; she'd had the feeling this might be coming. Robert was quickly removed from the stage. It would be a moment for the duellists to catch their breath, to process all that had just happened. And with a call of "Resume!" that moment would end, Delilah left alone against the pair of Hufflepuffs.

All she could do was watch as her teammate hit the floor, both of their opponents hitting him at once, the game pausing for a moment to take him out of the way and heal him up, but now it was one against two, hopefully she could somehow flip this around.

Both Hufflepuffs focused their wand on the first year, both spells hitting to knock out the opponent. It was unfortunate to see a fellow first year unconscious, but it would hopefully make this duel a little easier now that it was 2 against 1. The pause allowed her to catch a breath and bring down her guard for a bit before preparing for the next wave of duelling.

So far, the Huffle girls were doing quite well. Hopefully, they could keep up their good work for the remainder of the duel. Frost smiled at Lea after they had gotten Robert out, she really couldn’t have asked for a better teammate. Thankfully both of their spells had hit, good teamwork if you asked her. After a moment of calming herself down, Frost readied herself once again for what was to come next.

One could only wonder how Delilah was taking the loss of her teammate. The dynamic of playing solo was quite different than with a partner, carefully crafted strategies necessarily scrapped; there was only so much you could do on your own. Being in such a position while the opposing team had both its members intact was worse, of course. You could only deal with one of them at a time, all the while dealing with two incoming spells.

Perhaps all of that was getting to the fourth year, resulting in the failure of her spell. A few sparks sputtered out of her wand, but that was all, not even close to the roaring flames she'd been going for. Or maybe it wasn't related to the loss of her teammate at all; even the best of spellcasters could have inconsistencies in their magic.

Frost and Lea, not thrown off their game in the slightest, sent a pair of spells at the lone eagle. Delilah would have certainly had a rough go for the next few rounds if she'd been stuck dancing in the wind. As it was, she avoided Frost's Ventus quite easily, though the same could not be said for Lea's spell. The first year was on her game today, to be sure, and this time would send her opponent into a tap dance. Nonetheless, if Delilah could hone her focus and execute her spells, she still had a chance to claim victory.
