☾ Cecily deciding on Parkin’s Pincer was nothing short than expected. It was a good play, and could hopefully get them ahead if they managed to succeed in doing so. Valencia broke off into her own lane, eyes following the prize while still taking note of her surroundings. Her confidence shortly fell as Erin evaded their play nicely, though her spirit didn’t waver. It was only the beginning, there was still plenty more chances to go.
She gave no reaction to the points Slytherin managed to score, refusing to give them a display of defeat. If it hadn't been for both of Valencia’s hands gripped tightly to her broom, she would have raised a hand to her mouth as she gasped. Watching a fellow teammate, Jorah, fall to the ground set off a small fire inside of the young Dhampir. If this was how they wanted to play, so be it.

Already the match was not going as Cecily had hoped. As she and her fellow Chasers dived towards Erin, she was almost surprised at herself for how bold Ravenclaw was being right off the bat, but, to be fair, they didn't have much to lose. It wasn't like they could make a comeback and a bid for the Quidditch Cup at this point. What was the worst that could happen? They lose? Merlin knew the Ravenclaw team had gotten plenty of practice at that, as their best laid plans often went awry.
Alas, their bid at an offensive start slipped downhill as Cecily heard ten, twenty, thirty points to Slytherin. Great, so their risky move had not paid off in the slightest. Plus, they were down their star Beater, she noticed, as she saw Aurora take to the sky in Jorah's place. Awesome. This was just going splendidly. A look of displeasure was clear on Cecily's face as she could feel her team losing their grip on this match not two minutes in. But then, they still had a shot. They had come back from worse, probably. Not in a while, but at some point, likely. They'd won at least one match before, and the snitch was long overdue for finding its home in a Ravenclaw's hand.ACTION: doing as strategised

Each team started in line with form, Slytherin swiftly piling up points with consecutive quaffle goals. Since a series of early season roster changes, the birds appear ready to continue their descent as the school’s laughing stock. Not that the players on their roster lack the talent, but the house seems generally disinterested in athletic competitions, prioritizing more important matters, such as forest exploration and play dates with dolls.
Flash’s retort left Thomas on uneven footing, pausing his approach to the bench, head tilting in a scrutinizing gaze down towards his peer. The fighting club last summer had felt more like a dream with each day removed. If not for the school paper’s coverage that solidified its existence, Thomas may have continued on as if it was a dream.
Offering no immediate response, Thomas took a seat at Flash’s side on the club’s bench. Allowing time to pass, taking in the intermittent bell rings and roars from those cheering the black and green. Though it would not deter his mind from the flashes of the day in London. A day Thomas could not remember the beginning nor end, only an inconclusive mess that left Slytherin’s house with one less name.
There were still a series of mysteries that surround what was a trio, now just a duo. After their collective experience of witnessing the death of a Ministry official, they appeared fixed on predetermined roads to a bitter end. Thomas’ similarities with this group all but confirmed their connection. Yet their purpose aligned, merely tools to carry out someone else’s agenda.
It is this status that has led Thomas Lestrange to the position he is in. Fueling his strong drive within the school’s network, gaining notoriety through the various extracurricular activities and a prefect’s badge. As he saw it, high name value worked as life security. Having publicly exposed intimate details of his relationship with a coven, and how they operate-- his disappearance would be met with scrutiny, and investigation.
“Varellion chose the easier target, even if one of us was not moving.” Thomas broke the silence in a neutral tone. Thomas had made himself available that day, an attempt to help facilitate Vladimir’s show. Though Alexander was discomforted by Thomas’ open invitation at a free shot, deeming it a trick and opting to target Flash. “You ought to thank me. It seems I’ve helped you find your calling.” A reference to the fall ball, where Flash preformed the evolution of his summer fisticuffs on the instructor himself.
Though an unexpected pivot in tone left Thomas peering over at Flash, curious of what powered this depressive outlook. Not that Thomas in any way deviated from this position, but in the brief spurts of shared company, the boy appeared content with his Hogwarts experience on the exterior. “Balls are no longer your thing, then?” Thomas deemed the approach Blossom Ball an interest point for Holmwood after his involvement with the Masquerade, now prodding to see what altered this course.

[/quote]Suffice to say, the game was not going well for Ravenclaw. Already Gabriella could see what was ahead: the slow demise of her team, each missed opportunity to gain some ground a further degradation ending in the ultimate humiliation that was losing the tournament by a mile. Or two miles. Or ten. Twenty. Fifty... I can keep counting up and I'll still never reach the right number, she thought.
Anyway, pessimistic thoughts were never going to get her anyway, and instead of wallowing in missed opportunities she needed to make an effort so that they didn't repeat the same mistakes twice. "Come on, Ravenclaw! Don't back down now!" roared Gabriella, a wave of energy suddenly surging through her and revitalising her mindset. She gripped the handle of her broom and swooped into the centre of the pitch, ready to perform her next move, and with perfect precision this time.Action:

Briefly mentioning the Ravenclaw first-string members.
Aly winced as the Slytherin Chasers scored once, twice, thrice- putting them at a solid 30-point lead. Her eyes sought out her first-string counterpart, Bloom, on the pitch, and though the curly-haired second-year wasn't quite sure if the fourth-year girl could see her in the stands (or even if she'd be looking her way), Aly sent two cheerful thumbs-up motions in Bloom's direction. She knew the pain of being scored on from the last game. It was never pleasant.
But this is just the very first part of the game! A thirty-point lead does not a win make! And Bloom is already doing so much better than I did last game just by staying at the posts, she assured herself, waving cheerfully to some of the other players as they zoomed by on their assorted broomsticks. Our luck will change... I just know it!
Aly's optimism, however, didn't stop a Bludger from crashing into one of the Ravenclaw Beaters- Jorah, actually, the one on whom Aly had fallen last match. The Beater went plummeting towards the ground, and Aly winced again, remembering how that very move had been the beginning of a horrendous experience for both Jorah and herself during the Quidditch game the previous autumn. Hopefully, nobody would fall on him this time- least of all not Aly herself.
Note to self, Aly noted in her mind, hopefully Bloom stays on her broom, but if for some reason I have to go in... avoid Bludgers at all costs!

With a short blast of the whistle, the balls were released and the game was on. Just like in their last match versus Hufflepuff, Thora darted forward immediately, sharp green eyes fixed fast on her target - but this time, it wasn't a tiny figure robed in the Hufflepuffs' signature yellow (or the blue of Ravenclaw, for that matter). No, she had her gaze set on the Quaffle, raring to try her hand at scoring rather than the constant cycle of blatching she'd been on previously. In all honesty, it seemed strange for her not to be gunning for an opponent right now with a blatch attempt given the preponderance of times she'd done just that on her previous gameday, but she was grateful to have been instead tasked with scoring. After all, she'd trained hard for this. She was ready for this.
At the merest touch, her Silver Arrow glided forward, sending the chaser hurtling towards the maroon-swathed Quaffle. Although the snitch was typically seen as more important to obtain than the Quaffle - and it certainly was, in terms of point value - Thora knew the less significant goals would be important for Slytherin this match. If they won this match, they'd be in a decent position to win the year's Quidditch cup - as long as they also caught up to Gryffindor's point total, which would require Quaffle scoring. So, there was a fair amount of pressure pressing down on her hunched shoulders as she flew, but she did her best to ignore it.
She had assumed there would be competition for the Quaffle, the game having commenced just moments ago and attacks having not yet begun in earnest, but as she allowed her gaze to shift just ever so slightly from the prize, she was surprised to see that wasn't the case. In fact, her only competitor would be Tyranni, with Nico trailing Dan and the Ravenclaw chasers evidently having something else in mind, lost in the colorful blur of her surroundings as she sped through the air. Nearing the Quaffle, she reached out, straining for a better hold on the ball as her fingertips brushed the surface. But Tyranni had arrived at exactly the same time, and Thora grimaced slightly as they grappled briefly for control. She'd never been particularly strong, and it was almost embarrassing how easily it was ripped from her grasp.
But even so, she forced herself to shake off the embarrassment as she slowed and fell behind, watching Tyranni bring the Quaffle to the goal. After all, there would be more chances - and besides, it wouldn't hurt to catch a breath and try to see how she might put the ball past the Ravenclaw keeper later on, would it?
As Tyranni scored, Thora let out a cheer. Slytherin had taken the lead within moments, and now all they would have to do was hold onto it - granted, this was no easy feat, but it was decidedly easier than gaining a lead further on in the game. And here was a new chance to score - her chance to score. With the Quaffle free once more, no longer in anyone's possession, she could try this again.
With a deep breath, she darted forward once more, a rush of pride coursing through her as she swept up the ball, tucking it into the crook of her arm. She scarcely had to think as she shot towards the goals, for she had practiced this so many times - and of course, it was all made easier by the fact that she was completely unopposed… until she reached Ravenclaw's keeper, of course. Without a second thought, she tossed it at the goal, grinning as it sailed easily past the opposing keeper. The booming voice of the announcer sounded almost immediately, echoing throughout the stadium - 10 points for Slytherin.
Tyranni scored once more, boosting Slytherin up to a 30-point lead, and their team had suffered no losses so far. Ravenclaw had attacked them a fair number of times - Thora hadn't missed the telltale clang of a bludger on a bat, nor the referee's call for a penalty lap - but her teammates had evaded every single attack. They were already in quite an excellent position, which was unusual for Slytherin and even more so due to it being so early in the game, and she would do her very best to ensure that it stayed that way.

Well what a first round that was. An explosive start for Slytherin and not so good start for Ravenclaw. However, those smart raven's were resourceful and stubborn. Despite a shaky start and the ensuing chaos they're rallying back to try and even the field. Looks like this could be quite the match afterall!

It seemed like in a matter of mere moments the action had shifted stages. Where the beaters had been the most chaotic that shifted over to the chasers. Zooming around at a breakneck pace the chasers were in a heated contest of skill.Nico, Cecily, and Thora each vied for the quaffle and in an impressive display Thora had grabbed the quaffle twice. They looked ready to grab it for a third time but seemingly out of no where Bloom who should have come racing in didn't. Instead it was Cecily who narrowly grabbed the quaffle from Thora's. Perhaps getting caught off guard or the excitement of the match got to Thora. Whatever the case, in an impressive fumble, the quaffle did not stay within their reach and was stolen instead by the young Raven.
Going for the goals. First up was Thora who in a spectacular fashion completely failed in their aim. The quaffle looked ready to go in at first but then in an unexpected turn there was a total miss perhaps a slip or error in aim? Taking that quick chance Ravenclaw's keeper did...nothing. They were mostly just still, possibly daydreaming or overwhelmed by everything? Whatever the reason it allowed for the quaffle to sail right past them as it went into the goal. A loud Dong! could be heard as they announced,
"10 points for Slytherin!"
But thanks to Thora's mistake on the last attempt. Cecily got the drop and with what should have been an easy goal. Wasn't perhaps the tension and just oppressive presence in the air that did no favors for nerves got to them. Because much like Thora it was a total miss.
Definitely not what the team needed. Nico who could be considered fairly skilled in her role couldn't quite do more on this phase of the match. Still with such a fast paced exchange it was a spectacular sight to see and such a good show! Things were unexpected and surprising as always.B E A T E R S || B L A T C H E R S

Gabriella and Aurora perhaps sensing the quick changing and flow of the match. Sprung into action, right as Aurora entered the pitch from the bench. She and her fellow beater had their sights clearly set for some payback. Playing smart as the Raven's tended to do their bludgers were set for one particular seeker. Their bats hitting the first bludger seemed as though it would hit Dan, but then Cassandra put herself between the bludger and him. Narrowly evading the bludger and giving her seeker enough time to evade as well.
Sadly there wasn't much time to catch her breath! She saw the second bludger coming from Gabriella and flew into action. Given the distance and angle Cassandra would have a hard time trying to evade this one while protecting her seeker. Getting just in the way of the bludger she was slammed by it. It looked like a pretty solid hit but it didn't budge her off her broom. Miraculosuly the bludger bounced off her and was headed for a different player now. Hitting at just the right angle, the bludger slammed into an unsuspecting Nico. But deceptive was this Dhamphir, a solid hit as it were, and yet she didn't look too terribly phased by it. Both players while a bit weakened were still in the game and looking fairly strong.
Not far away like a shark stalking its prey. Erin was on approach her eyes locked onto one target. With a terrifying Crack! of the bat. A bludger was sent careening with explosive force towards young Gabriella and unfortunately with another sickening slam. She was knocked clear off her broom and sent plummeting. It was a good effort but not enough to escape the terrifying might of this mad lass.S E E K E R S

It seemed like the wizarding gods did not like how the Slytherins taste. Were they not yummy enough? Or were they too tasty? Better sacrifice the whole house next time. She spotted Ironwoods on the Slytherin team, defending the seeker. Although they were not friends and more of an acquaintance, she felt a bit reluctant to backbeat the seeker because Ironwoods might get the bludger instead. Aurora did not want to hurt those who were nice to her.
“Ironwoods, I am so sorry! Bludger incoming!” What a dumb kid. The new beater was a bit clueless when it came to quidditch, but what she just did was way beyond the stupidity range. Let’s just say it was an action of kindness. Ironwoods evaded the bludger just fine, it relieved the first year a little, but also, she did not hit the seeker and that was the bad news.
The actual match was so much different than scrimmage, and the Slytherins did look very bloodthirsty. Everything went so fast, and suddenly, her fellow Ravenclaw beater (Gabriella) knocked off of her broom by the same mean-looking Slytherin (Erin) that knocked off the first beater (Jorah). “HEY! THAT’S CHILD ABUSE! God, that should be illegal!”

Final Foray
If there was one thing Lavinia Cloven knew it was that penalty laps were awful. It had seemed like each game she was getting one. Of course it was well deserved but it just taught her that if she was going to cheat, she had to do it much, much more hidden. As she did her penalty lap around the field it took all in her to not leave and go after the quaffle, or leave and try and save her falling teammate, or even leave to go try and block the goal. It was excruciating, her team doing a little better and it looked as though River had seen the snitch but it was so hard to not go try and help out.Action: Doing as strategized

Abilities: Foulplay and Interception
Heath points: 800/800
Broom: Cleansweep 7
ReducioStats: +2 accuracy, +2 strength
Effect: In the role of Chaser, if you have a contested quaffle grab and a contested strength roll between yourself and another user is in progress, unless they have the same broom, you would be the victor of the contested quaffle grab. In addition, rounds where you are successfully carrying the quaffle in an attempt to score, you only take half-damage from bludgers and blatching attempts.
