AlanReducioAlan falls to his death
With one last conjure of the most useful spell a young wizard could ever learn, Alan's body would still be in tip-top shape, but his strength was not his........ strength. He had done well in strategizing and using his wealth of spells to his advantage, but he could not make himself grip tighter. That is, he could have used the gripping charm but had not. Perhaps exhausted after a long day of flying around, his fingers would lose his broom, not even having a chance to cast anything back before starting the very short plummet to join his friends below. Likely at that point, there were plenty of people underneath who were ready to catch him.
With that, the cat lady with the fuzzy dice broom was victorious. Cheer erupted amongst the SWAG members below, a small fanfare for what ended up being a fairly tame game, the way everyone kept saving each other. Hilarious moments within would be added to everyone's memory, and the notoriety of being the queen of Shuntbumps would be afforded to Xailah for the foreseeable future. Perhaps for the rest of her life!
Anyone is free to write their reactions or play further on this field of bumping, as I will lock the topic in roughly a month. Congrats to our winner, and thank you all for playing!
Game has concluded! Xailah is the winner of Shuntbumps!!

Shuntbumps
Alan would be hit, and the sensation of pain exploded over his rib cage and he instantly knew that it must have been a Flipendo. He was not sure if he had ever been in this amount of pain, coupled with the task to keep his grip on the silver arrow, he just couldn't. Wincing in pain he would feel his grip slip as he plummeted to the ground. Being quite far up, the fourth year tried to fumble for his wand as he braced himself for impact, his mind was screaming at the approaching danger and Alan was overwhelmed as he tried to think and think of a spell but it was as if his memory has been wiped. Not a single spell would come to his mind as he squeezed his eyes tight. Though the ground never hit him, there never was any pain as he opened his eyes questioningly he would see himself slowly lower to the ground. Quickly he would adjust his body, adrenaline pumping through his veins and his breath came heavy as he easily found who had just saved him. It was none other than Flash and in the very moment Alan was grateful to have him more than ever. A shaky sigh of relief escaped him as he walked over to his friend to thank him. After he had calmed down he would cup his mouth with his hands in order to make his voice sound louder as he yelled up to Xailah. "Congrats! You won!" he cheered, allowing himself to grin. He would try to look around, to see where his broom had hit the ground, before he went to retrieve it.

"Flipendo!" That final word would be the one that locked in her victory. Blue light hurled towards Alan, sped towards him like a deadly, ethereal snake, and collided with his chest. He winced. Xailah loured. She watched his body curl inwards, his hands leaving his broom. As he fell, Xailah took note of his frantic fumbling. She recognized it as a search- the kind one did when they were trying to find an object on their person. He was looking for his only beacon of security- his wand. Xailah was noticing that wands tended to be the last thing a wix reached for, when staring into the face of danger. She suspected the reason, didn't fall into the category of defense entirely. The lioness watched her fellow Gryffindor fall, like how she had done with all those before him. Had the boy secured his grip, Xailah believed he would have remained in the game. Alas, his failure would be the bridge to her success.
Victory- it really was sweet. Even if it was not the first taste. Xailah glided to the ground like a supple crows feather. Drifting and weightless. When the tip of her boots were felt, brushing against the grass, she dismounted from her broom. She was greeted with congratulations from Alan, to which she only replied with a slow, meaningful blink, and a slight bow of her head. "It was a pleasure flying with you. You're quite skilled on a broom," she would say after a moment. She had enjoyed flying with one of her own- spell flinging, and Last Man Standing aspect of the game aside. Alan had been a worthy opponent. As well as irritatingly slippery, and strangely helpful one. After exchanging a few words, Xailah would leave her lion, to converse with her comrades.
River was approached first. The young dhampir had been eliminated early in the game, betrayed by her own wand and willpower. She had been the first to fall. Both were feats worthy of mockery. While Xailah was mean at times, she wasn't what one would call a bully- she was mostly just blunt. Sometimes, simply misunderstood. "It is a ssshame you fell so soon," she spoke gently. It might have sounded like the start of a cruel jab, but really, it was only carefully shaded consolation. "To be defeated ones own hand, is better than being defeated by the hands of some other. It hurts much less in the long run." Consolation turned into... something much more. Reassurance it seemed. And from that, came praise. River likely didn't want to hear- what sounded to be nonsensical- chatter. Backfiring was frustrating. Xailah knew- it happened from time to time. The last thing a person wanted to hear was an, "I'm sorry that happened, you'll do better next time". This was not an unneeded apology. At least none of them were given the pleasure of removing you from the game." The cub turned briefly, looking over her shoulder at the other S.W.A.G members. "Never let them have the sssatisfaction." Maybe the ginger would understand. Perhaps she wouldn't. In a way, miss Dewlight still held the Shuntbumps crown. No one could brag about dethroning the girl. Having little else to say to the fiery-feathered raven, Xailah would continue her move across the Quidditch Pitch. "Be seeing you." Fingers wiggled, waving in a friendly way. Hopefully the young Ravenclaw would not confuse the lions praise, for pity.
"We did it!" Is what would be said, upon drawing closer to the snake and bird. An arm rose slightly, and shook the broomstick it held, in silent cheer. The fuzzy bobbles attached to the base, waggled to and fro. We did it. Not I- we won. Shuntbumps had very much been a team effort. There could only be one winner in the end- Xailah was technically that winner, but the way she saw it, she only helped secure victory for her team. Without the help of her three prefects (and a few outside hands), she probably wouldn't have been able to snag success. "Ruby," Xailah called. A hand came down, hovered close over the Slytherins shoulder, but never made any physical contact. "You make a fearsome ally." The hand moved away, and found rest on the cubs abdomen. Xailah leaned towards the snake, as if preparing to whisper something. A cheeky smile cause one corner of her mouth to curl. "Miss May didn't ssstand a chance against you. The wind was only being merciful to her." The crook relaxed into something less conniving- more contrite. "My apologies for not sssending aid when you fell."
Xailahs eyes flickered to the ground in a moment of shame. Ruby and Xailah were supposed to help each other, Ruby had aided the lioness; when it was the cubs turn to return the favor, she failed to do just that. She looked back up to meet the snakes pretty pools of icy blue. "I thought Flash would enjoy writing about his rescue experience, in his diary." A defense. A poorly structured, and false defense. Maybe believable, but hardly redeemable. To keep the mood from dropping, Xailah provided a quick change of subject, directing attention to Pericles. Hues once glistening with remorse, now hid behind a curious sheen. "I had a good think while I was up there-" she said, mirrory eyes motioned towards the sky. "I believe I have the answer to your extracurricular dilemma." She drove the bristly end of her Moontrimmer into the ground, providing a secure structure on which she could lean. She was quiet for a second, as if building up effect for a grand reveal.
"You should do what you want to do." Brilliant right? Who would have possibly thought of such a thing? Xailah knew that Pericles was the type to sit and overthink things, so to make his decision easier (and possibly lessen the hours of pondering, that would undoubtedly drive him mad) she tacked on a quick: "I mean, what you really want to do." Her head tilted slightly, lips parted into a faint smile. "If you pick one, and you find it is the wrong fit for you- you can always choose a new thing to do. It may take lots of waiting, but the opportunity will always be there." She absentmindedly thumbed at a splinter on her broomstick; slowly growing aware of movement near her heels. She looked down to see Schrödinger, pawing at her bootlaces. "Waow." Hungry. Hungry. Feed me. Sleepy. The cat gurgled. Xailah bent, scooped him into her free arm, and slung him over her shoulder as if he were some sort of fuzzy, grey bag. "I must be off. It is past somebody's bedtime." She looked to Ruby, "I had fun playing with you, perhaps we can do so again next game?" On her heel she turned, faced the exit of the Quidditch Pitch, and proceeded to march in that direction. But not before sending the bird one final rib for the night. "Try not to lose your wand on the way to the castle, Dralt. I may not be around to find it for you again."
