I think this is the first time I’m writing a letter to someone except for my parents! Wait, no that’s not true, I wrote a letter to Ileen last year during that one letter errand, but I don’t think that really counts. Either way, I hope you feel honoured.
When you didn’t come back from Christmas break, I asked Jack where you were, and he said you decided to stay home to catch up on Muggle education. I could have taught you math Is it interesting?
It’s an odd feeling to be walking around Hogwarts without the risk of being set on fire behind a random corner (or tree). I’m not sure I like it.
Will you be coming back?
PS: Thanks again for the Aphrodite candle, I have it on my nightstand. I haven’t used it yet, though.

Thank you for your Owl, I feel more than honoured that you would break your no-letter streak for me!
It turns out that muggle education is more widespread than I thought it would be.
It’s interesting enough but I hadn’t considered how lonely it could get. Next time I’ll make sure to ask you to tutor me instead!!! I assume catching up on everything would take a while but nothing says I have to prioritise math over magic, does it? In that sense I expect to be back at Hogwarts by September.

I suppose there are many things to learn in Muggle education. I always thought it would be nice if we could learn another language at Hogwarts, the way we would at most Muggle schools. There are wizards in other countries, it seems silly to rely on them being able to speak English, no? But yes, for simple things, I’m sure I can help!!
I’m glad you will be coming back. I’ve gotten used to having you around.
I’d love to come visit you! You could visit me in Whitehaven, too? Ileen is usually around during the holidays, but you’re welcome, too. Are you lonely at home? Are there no other children around?
It’s only been two weeks since the break, nothing much has happened yet. My second duel is this weekend, so I have to get back to practice now. Wish me luck! Not saying that I need it, of course. I don’t. Pericles and I will win for sure. I’ll keep you updated!!
