Leaving 'em Behind

With a perplexed look on crestfallen face, he stared at Vivian, the blond haired girl, with a stony, wideeyed look and pondered the oddities that she has brought forth. "YOU BROUGHT MUGGLE MONEY?" Noah bellowed, he bellowed so loud, the entire Leaky Tavern residents heard him.

With a stifled groan, he took off his cape and lifted up one golden coin, known as a galleon. He brought forth a form of silver currency known as a sickle, and he tossed a bronze copper coin known as a knut towards Vivian. He thought about discussing the amount of coins that can go into the next amount... "Ok, Vivian, I am going to inform you about how much Knuts can go into a Sickle and so on and so forth." With a silent smile, he opened his mouth again, "There are 17 Sickles in a Galleon, and 29 Knuts in a Sickle, meaning there are 493 Knuts to a Galleon." He thought he simplified it, so he gave the bartender another galleon to pay off her Butterbeer.

With a glimmering look in his eyes, he walked towards the trash can and tapped the wall behind it, watching the bricks open up a hole in the wall.

It was so shocking for Vivian to see Noah shouting at her suddenly just after looking at her money, she had no idea why he shouted at her after seeing her cash. The word muggle caught her ears and she was confused by the term muggle money...Wait what ‘ muggle money’ what is the muggle first... She thought but did not ask him as she felt offended.

It was when Noah apologised for his action, she becomes a little relaxed. It was very confusing for Vivian to see gold, silver, bronze coins, which were named Galleons, Sickles and knuts in front of her but tried to get it inside her head and she felt it was so difficult and scary for her that her first day, which was just shopping was so tough.

She was afraid whether she will be able to complete seven years of schooling in the wizarding world but after few seconds she realised that she made a decision that she won’t give up and would face anything. When Noah told her she can exchange her money in Gringotts, it relieved her as she had the means to get wizarding money. As Noah suggested a drink, it confused her and told him, “But, as you know I don’t have wizarding money, I have no knuts, sickle or galleons ”

As he walked into the large street, which was Diagon Alley as he remembered with his brothers. He recalled the Apothecary, which, for some reason, was never named. He also remembered Eeylops' Owl Emporium, Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour, Flourish and Blott's Bookstore, Gringotts Wizarding Bank, Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions, The Magical Menagerie, Ollivander's: Makers of Fine Wands since 382 BC, and Quality Quidditch Supplies.

Noah called after Vivian, and stalked alongside the cobbled road to Gringotts Wizarding Bank, and offered her some form of exchange for muggle money to wizarding currency. Leaving her at Gringotts, Noah walked into Madam Malkin's and got himself three sets of plain work robes that are black, one day wear pointed hat, one pair of dragon hide protective gloves, and one winter cloak. He crept into Flourish and Blotts, and bought the following books from there; The Standard Book of Spells (Grade 1) by Miranda Goshawk, A History of Magic by Bathilda Bagshot, Magical Theory by Adalbert Waffling, A Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration by Emeric Switch, One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi by Phyllida Spore, Magical Drafts and Potions by Arsenius Jigger, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander, and The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection by Quentin Trimble. He was having trouble lifting up the books with his arms, but managed to go get one pewter standard size two cauldron, one set crystal phials, one telescope, and one set brass scales. Finally, he went into Ollivanders and got a specific wand, 24,9 cm chestnut wood and wampus cat hair.

With a sudden sigh, he hoped Vivian was doing alright as he walked out of Diagon Alley and treaded back to 9 3/4. With an odd swooping feeling, he ran into the pillar. Noah has finally arrived to the Hogwarts Express.

Vivian had a feeling that Noah was annoyed by her and felt offended as she noticed him murmuring something she couldn’t hear. She did not feel comfortable anymore and she did not wanted to bother him by asking for further help. She came to understand or misunderstand that Noah was disturbed by her silly question and made a decision to buy school stuff on her own.She noticed him forcing the smile into his face which did not reach his eyes.

Vivian tried to make her smile natural but it turned out to be awkward and accepted the butterbeer. After having butterbeer ,they both continued their walk and Vivian was staring at the place when she saw Noah opening the entrance of Diagon alley. As Noah called out ,she entered the diagon alley.

Then she decided to say what she had been thinking, “ Noah....” she called him “Thanks for your help, I think I already got enough help from you, here after I think I can handle things by myself and thanks again for tolerating my stupid questions and I’ll see you later somewhere else” she said with a smile in her face and walked away alone as walking alone was one of her favourite things and she also didn’t want to disturb him more. But she was so thankful to Noah as he helped her when she had no idea on what do do.
