@Kage Suzuki
"Did you take karate? or boxing or was it something more on the streets?" She asked quietly. Thinking about fighting brought back her own memories of the last couple of years mostly boys fighting each other in the group homes. Trying to assert their control. Their dominance. Momoji stayed away from them but she still saw it. The few times she'd been picked on she never fought back she just tried to get away and when that hadn't worked she just tried to minimize the amount of damage she got to her stomach and face. Luckily most of the time the others kids or grown-ups pulled them away before she could get seriously hurt. Thinking back on it she knew how lucky she had been otherwise she wondered how many times she might have ended up in the hospital or worse. Shaking her head a little to shake off the memories her focus went back onto Suzuki Her expression only held curiosity wanting to learn more about Suzuki and her life.
She realized how blunt they were being. Momoji was always blunt about the facts she knew she didn't see why anyone danced around the truth. Especially when it came to things like this. The only thing she could see is if someone was trying to spare the other's feelings but she's never had that experience personally. Only reading about it in her books and sometimes seeing the foster system only half telling the truth or not at all to help another kid. She wondered though if lying really helped anyone.

Mentioning/Interacting: @Momoji Mikoto #666[font=Kaufmann Bd BT]"Something more on the streets. Think random kids gathered around two kids trying to beat the shit out of each other." Suzuki said, in Japanese, this time.
Despite the multiple lectures from her aunt telling her not to curse, Suzuki still used the more derogatory words of her vocabulary. It was for the aesthetic, really. Kind of.
Suzuki frowned as she thought about her mother now. No doubt, she knew her mother didn't really want her. Who the heck stays 24/7 at some Ministry place? Yeah, work called, but not for 24 hours a day. Not for 7 days a week. Plus- no way the Ministry didn't provide breaks. Breaks were essential. Summer break had to exist, at least. Winter break. Spring break. Even Hogwarts had breaks.
It also didn't help that each time (there were 6 times total- Suzuki counted and had a good memory) Suzuki brought the facts up, her mother, Emi, had totally dodged the topic. She did it with ease, too. The Suzukis were known to be smooth talkers. They could talk their way out of nearly everything.
But nevertheless, smooth-talking or not, it was pretty depressing if your mother didn't really want you, or like you, for that matter. Whether or not she smiled (smiles could be fake- most of the time, they were) didn't matter.
She wondered where she'd go if the unwantedness was carried out. Nakamura's? Probably not. They weren't known for having much money.
Suzuki'd probably end up like Mikoto, in a group home.
At least she'd get out of the football drills.

Momoji's eyebrows raised for a second at hearing the words in Japanese. She was used to swears but not in her first language. "O-oh I see..." She said quietly thoughtfully. "Did you w-win? I mean... From w-what, I understand about something like that. I would assume it would result in a winner..." She bit her lip a little. She wondered when was the last time she got in a fight? Judging from the bruises it wasn't too long before they came to Hogwarts. She realized she didn't see any bruises on her when they met in diagonally. But then again she had been even more nervous than she was now.
Being afraid to say the wrong thing was troublesome for her. In these situations. Was it good if she won? Was it bad? Alternatively, if she didn't win that would mean she probably got really hurt. She didn't think that that was a good thing. So she hoped Suzuki won even if it meant someone else had gotten hurt. She didn't want Suzuki to be.
She looked back down at her book and flipped the page she had been done reading the last few moments feeling nervous still she ended up reading faster. Her eyes scanning the page absorbing the details of the picture that happened to be on it. then flipping the pages carefully but quickly afterward.

Mentioning/Interacting: @Momoji Mikoto #666[font=Kaufmann Bd BT]Page after page after page. Word after word after word. Suzuki remembered now. She stuffed the book she was currently reading back into the metal case she'd brought with her, and fished out the Charms textbook and a few sheaves of parchment. There were more important matters to attend to. Homework. Suzuki allowed only a few seconds for her attention to divert to Mikoto.
" It depends." Some of the kids in the neighbourhood (s) were actually good at fighting, some were okay, some were terrible. Suzuki was placed in the upper category, the good one. However, she'd discovered, there were always times when you lost to someone worse than you, and there was always someone better than you.
Fighting could've been the reason Emi didn't really like Suzuki. Maybe she got tired of Suzuki getting in trouble all the time? But that couldn't be. Emi didn't know enough to know that Suzuki was out on the streets waging wars all the time. Suzuki was pretty sure only Nakamura and the neighbourhood kids knew, and none of them snitched on each other. To tell a parent was to sabotage not only the offending kid, but everyone engaged in the activity.
Adjusting her grip on the quill, Suzuki started on her essay, scribbling bits and pieces on a separate parchment for brainstorming. The speed of the quill tip on the old piece of parchment increased. She was finally getting used to quills.

Momoji nodded a little. "What makes you enjoy f-fighting so much?" She asked as she closed her book now finished. She shifted her bear to one arm before scooting off the chair and going to put the book back. It flew out of her fingers as she looked for the spot it was supposed to go then went about choosing a couple of others to read. She went back to her and watched as she wrote for a few moments before hopping back on the chair and curling up to read more.
Only these then you can read more tomorrow. She thought to herself as she opened the book to read more slowly than she had before. She had to limit herself otherwise she knew she would get lost in the shelves and miss going to the dorms in time. She wouldn't want to be caught out of bed she didn't want to lose any points for her house if she could avoid it.
"Do you have any t-teachers you l-like yet?" She asked curiously after a few moments of silence. She didn't want to interrupt her homework too much but she still wouldn't mind talking to Suzuki more either.

Mentioning/Interacting: @Momoji Mikoto #666[font=Kaufmann Bd BT]” The thrill of the fight.”
Looking back on all those fights Suzuki had participated in, she decided her favorite was the one against Jaxton. He was tall, around the same height as Suzuki, about two or three years older than her. He was one of those sturdy kids, the type whose punches land hard.
The fight hadn’t started to well for Suzuki. She had tried to go at him from the side- quickly, but the boy had swung around, and landed a solid punch on the side of her face. There was a spurt of blood- from her nose. The next punch from him, Suzuki had barely dodged. She blocked the third with her arm.
Then, even faster, she drove her fist into his face. Three times. Giving him no time to react, Suzuki obliterated him. Around five minutes later, Jaxton lay on the ground, blood all over his face, water like crystal on his face. He was not crying. The tears had been bashed out of him.
Turning back to her (poorly) written essay, Suzuki scrapped the paper, and restarted. She stopped only to watch Mikoto as she asked her next question. Since the term had started not long ago, Suzuki didn’t really have opinions for any of the teachers. They were just that. Teachers. Nothing but teachers. So as a reply, Suzuki gave Mikoto the shrug. Shoulders up, shoulders down. Back to the paper.

Momoji never knew that feeling. The thrill of the fight. It sounded exciting. Maybe it was like the excitement she saw on the kids' faces from the home. The way they faced off in their video games. Or perhaps she could compare it to something she had played like chess or monopoly but it had been years since she played board games. The last time was with her parents during a family fun night no work no school only each other.
She remembered how much fun it had been and a sad smile came to her lips as she remembered the laughter. Her father pretending to cheat and trying to distract her mom. Then doing the same thing to her when it was her turn. Getting competitive when the game started getting close to finishing.
She closed her eyes sinking lower in her chair using the book to hide behind for a few minutes as she fought tears back A couple leaked though and she used her sleeve to wipe them away. She pushed the memory away. She wasn't sure what else to talk about right then so she just focused on her book. The words and the information the author was giving her.
