Melody Rathburn~First Year~Hufflepuff

Melody Rathburn was born in Broxbourne, England on February 14, 2009 to a large magic family. She grew up in the muggle town without many friends, but had her family instead. Her extended family would often come over to her house for holidays or just to join them for no reason. She was always a very sweet child, and liked to observe things with her brilliant blue eyes. Her father, Richard Rathburn worked for the Ministry of Magic and enjoyed Quidditch quite a bit. He always wanted to be a Quidditch player. Her mother Emily, on the other hand, didn't work. She worked at home, and took care of her daughter as well as the house.
Melody was often told she would be put in Hufflepuff, though she never thought she would be one. Her mother went to Beauxbâtons, and her father was in Gryffindor. But she loved her family, and was always very friendly and sweet. She liked to go outside and bask in the sun on the little patch of lavenders outside her house, which was why she often smelled like the delicate purple flowers. She went to a muggle school, but didn't have any friends there. She also found it hard to do work, which didn't get her on a good side with the teachers.
In 2015, Melody's cousin got married. That was when the family really grew, and when they had kids, they had a little boy named Finnegan. Finn loved Melody, and would always chase her around, wondering what was going on outside. Once, she got a pet toad when she was seven, but it ran away, and she had always suspected that Finn chased him away.
When Melody turned seven, she wanted to stay up late for her birthday. Her cousins got to stay up after the party, but she wasn't allowed to. She got so mad that that became her first time doing magic, she broke a plate on accident. Emily Rathburn was in another room and got quite mad at her daughter until it came that Melody hadn't meant to, and they realized it was her first instance of magic.
After her seventh birthday, Melody was always getting in trouble one way or another from magic. Her parents and family had quite the job running around and covering up all of her accidents, once she even got her friend's cat stuck on the roof of their house. That was the last time she talked to that friend.
Finally, when Melody turned eleven, she received her letter from the Headmaster that she would be going to Hogwarts. She was so excited, and even blew up a pillow from all of the emotion. She dragged her mother with her to go shopping immediately, and got all of her supplies from Diagon Alley, which wasn't too far away.
When Melody got to Hogwarts, she was the happiest she had ever been. She made more friends/companions than she had in a lifetime, and was very eager to start her lessons. She soon learned they weren't as easy as they seemed, though. Still, she had a wonderful time and is still working hard to become a witch.

Emily Browne was born on June 3, 1981 to two mothers in Marseille, France. She grew up around several cats, and became quite popular with the nearby muggles. They always said she was a rose, and her beauty could not be compared to anyone else in the town. She was often favored by the adults, which made the children around get jealous of her. Many times would she wake up to find her hair a different color or something of hers missing.
Emily went to the school of Beauxbâtons, and was quite talented there. She had a wand that contained veela hair, and was always very elegant as a child, wearing light blue dresses and ribbons in her hair. She was usually very kind to the people around her, and very gentle as well. She gained many friends when she went to her magic school, and they all adored her as much as her professors did.
Emily met Richard Rathburn at a dance in 2001, and the two immediately liked each other. Though they were not aware of exactly how long they would be together, they started dating in 2002 and later got married in 2008. They then had Melody in 2009, and unfortunately Emily's mama, Beatrice, passed away the same year. Besides that, they were all quite content and Emily balanced her cleaning of the house chores with her family ones, never forgetting when her child needed something or she needed to cook.

Richard Rathburn was born in London, England on December 29, 1979 to a very loving mother and father. He got used to the shabby house they lived in, as well as the torn robes and little supply of food. He didn't think there was much more that was needed besides his family, and was always one to cheer someone up when they were sad by cracking one joke or another.
Richard went to Hogwarts in 1990, and became sorted into Gryffindor house, the one of the brave and courageous. He was quite popular there for his humor, and people enjoyed to listen to his stories and jokes during the day and night. He always loved Quidditch, but never got on the team, for he didn't have enough time nor good enough marks. He was always getting in trouble and getting detention or points deducted for it.
In 2001, Richard met the love of his life for the first time. It was at a dance, and her name was Emily Browne. They started dating and later in 2007 he proposed to her in France, until they moved to England in 2008. The young couple were ready to start their life together, but unfortunately Richard also lost someone. His mother passed away in 2010, but he had his wife to talk to, as they had both lost their mothers.

Finnegan Browne was born on March 5, 2016 in London, England. His parents had recently gotten married, and they often visited the Rathburn's for advice on their family. They also visited the other Browne, who was quite lonely since her wife had passed away. The little boy loved all the hugs and friends he could get.
When Finn first met Melody, he was shy, blushing, and small. Over time, however, he took a liking to the girl, and every time she would come over he would run up and give her a big hug, while she would ruffle his hair. Finn was often called adorable, and cute, and he was such a cheery little boy that he could make anyone smile with his cheeky little grin. He can't wait to go to Hogwarts.

Noah Rathburn was born in Cornwall, England in 1934 to a well furnished home to a loving, small family. He was always one to be very observant, and sweet at the same time. This young boy would bring home wildflowers for his mother to put in a vase on the kitchen counter, and after she would hug him, he would run upstairs to do his schoolwork.
Noah was a smart little boy, but he always tended to get into trouble. It wasn't his fault, but being magical meant he would have to figure out some sort of cover up story for any accidental magic he did around the town, which once included blowing up a nice loaf of bread when he was at the bakery.
After Noah graduated from Hogwarts in 1941, he was ready to start a new life and get a job. He got hired at a nearby pub, and one night when he was working late he met the woman that would change his life. He and Anne liked each other from the start, he was always very smart and charming, and she liked to get into quite a bit of mischief. They got married in 1951, and if he hadn't had Richard, his son, he would have been all alone when she passed away at 86 in 2010.

Anne Wilson was born in 1935 on May 18. She grew up with two loving parents in a rather messy looking home, but that never mattered to her. Money didn't matter, she was fine as long as she was surrounded by those she loves.
Anne was always a young lady who loved to make people laugh. Her jokes, her exaggerated stories, and her fiery temper made people fall in love with her. She was pretty, and grew up in the muggle town of Cornwall, England. She always loved to dance, and later when she went to Hogwarts, she picked up Quidditch.
One late evening in her favorite pub, she met a young server named Noah. The two later fell in love, and got married in 1951. She was ecstatic when her son was born after a long while of trying. She had grown up to be a funny, strong woman. She never got to play for her dream Quidditch team, but she was quite satisfied when she later passed away in 2010 peacefully.

Melody has a thing for sweaters. She also loves to wear overalls over them, but also likes the sweaters that are buttoned. She always smells like fresh lavender, and with these thick yellow sweaters her mother knits her, she stays quite warm during the winter.
