Spring time had always been one of Ruka's favourite seasons of the year. Flowers were starting to bloom and warmth was starting to fill the air, allowing him to forego the thick winter coats in favour of lighter, less restricting clothes. It was the time of the year when being cooped up inside the castle walls felt even more suffocating than it did in any other season, so whenever there was some time to spare, Ruka would make sure to stay outside as much as he possibly could.

Most days he would simply bring a book to read somewhere hidden in the branches of the trees, or take some bread to offer the Giant Squid, or even gather some wood to use as torches for some fire dance practice. Today, however, there was an urge inside him to do more than that, to actually create something, so he was glad to have brought some arts and crafts stuff to Hogwarts with him after his time at home.

With a bag full of twine, floral stem wire, a couple of scissors, and little pearls and buttons for decoration, Ruka made his way to the Grounds, dressed in a short sleeved green shirt that showed off the scars along his arms, and a pair of denim capri pants. It took him a while to find an ideal spot, but once he did he immediately settled down between the flowers that lazily stretched their heads towards the sun.

If there was one thing he could remember doing for fun growing up, it was spending some time making flower crowns for himself and his dad, and it had dawned on him that it had been a while since he had done that; He hadn't made any since his dad had passed away, so it was about time to pick up an old hobby again. Maybe he could make one for his brother and Dealla as well. He certainly had enough materials.

With that thought putting a bright smile on his face, Ruka started on his first crown, snipping away at twine and wire and wrapping greenery and pearls in them. Maybe he could even ask a teacher to put a spell on the flowers to make sure they weren't going to whither away over time.

After all, no closet was really complete without a flower crown.

While wearing a simple shirt with her old jeans Samantha made her way trough the group of close-together trees. She could have easily gone around the little group of trees, but she enjoyed climbing over fallen logs, trying not to fall. She had put her hair in a ponytail, so it won't get in her face. The first year had been walking for a good 40 minutes and was now on her way back to her dorm.

Since the weather had gotten nicer, the young girl had been going out for a short walk everyday after her classes. Normally she would walk for 20 minutes, because she had balance it with her homework, but today was a Friday, so she didn't have to worry about her schoolwork. Samantha preferred biking over walking, but she didn't have a bike at Hogwarts, so she had to live with her daily walks.

Samantha felt the sun shining on her face as she made her way out of the shadows of the trees. As the trees where now no longer blocking Samantha's view of the grounds, she could see a boy dressed in a green shirt, most likely 1 or 2 years older than her, sitting on the grass between the flowers. At first Samantha didn't really paid attention to him, but as she got closer she could see him working on something. She had no idea what he was doing and started to get curious. Trying to figure out what he was doing she changed her path, first she was going straight for the castle, now she was going more in the direction of the boy.

After a lot of glances she still couldn't find out what the boy was doing. Samantha gave up trying to figure out what the boy was doing on her own and decided to asked it to him. "Hi, what are you doing?" Samantha was now standing in front of the boy, looking at everything that lay around him, twine, scissors and some kind of decoration. When the boy would look up he would see a small girl with her long brown hair in a ponytail (well, not all her hair was in a ponytail, some smal pieces of hair had fallen out of it), dressed in a simpel dark blue shirt with earth all over it and a pair of ripped jeans (not the best Samantha had ever looked).

The entire year had just flown by for one Third Year Gryffindor. The only real milestones were the many tragedies that had occurred every few months. The ball in and her kidnapping in Autumn, the train crash in Winter, her recent Trial. Each event was basically the only thing that Katrina remembered from those time periods. Surely she had lived through every day between the events, but she had hardly a recollection of most days, even some months she simply couldn’t remember much from, there was just nothing notable. Morning run, school, studying, dueling practice, music practice, letter writing, sleep, and it just repeated day in and day out.

Today wasn’t much outside normal. She’d chosen to study this morning rather than go for her typical run, so now, this afternoon, she was making it back up. She pulled on a pair of faded jeans, a t-shirt with a forget me knot plant on the front, a light sweater, and some tennis shoes and started off. Katrina was humming some muggle pop song as she ran (or rather jogged as she had miscalculated the temperature and was overheating). There was a comfort in the normalcy of it all. No surprises. No terrors. Just routine.

Everything was normal, besides the fact that there were people out. That wasn’t too out of the ordinary, but as the weather returned to calm and nice, more people were out and about. On her way back, she passed something in particular, a boy and a girl in a flowery meadow area of the grounds. The boy, as Katrina recognized as she strolled over, was Ruka, they had met once before that Katrina recalled, that one time with Nora and the roses. The girl, however, Katrina didn’t quite recognize, but she seemed younger so there was a good chance she was a first year Katrina hadn’t had the opportunity to meet quite yet. Whatever it was that Ruka was doing intrigued Katrina enough that she decided to ask.

I hope I’m not interrupting anything,” Katrina started, waiting until no one was talking to interject, “But I couldn’t help but notice you were doing something,” now that she was closer, she could see some of his supplies, twine, scissors, little beads and rocks, and what looked like a strip of flowers and the little knickknacks that he seemed to be almost braiding in his hands. “Oh, are they flower crowns?” After hearing some sort of response from this, she would continue, “Do you mind if I join? Some company and conversation might be nice,” Katrina offered a small smile, “So long as I’m not impeding anything of course,” she hurried to finish.

Maybe she could make a memory. Or at least not have today as yet another day that she would completely forget in the coming weeks. Besides, even if she was declined company, it was still an attempt at something, which was more than she could say for most of this year.

April has finally come to a end. Spring has arrived and Henry Knight has been a teenager with a twin who disappeared for a month now. The teen knew how to keep his emotions and true feelings hidden from others, which he did often but that didn't mean that April didn't feel like the longest month in his whole second year.

There was his birthday which was the night he found out his twin was missing, the embarrassing howler the next morning from his father, the trial a few days after, the third stage duels, and the numerous of panic attacks that Henry was forced to experience either alone or with another which at moments only increased his anxiety. The events with a few more added ones felt like a year to the thirteen year old who wished for a time turner to go back in time for at least a month or two months at best.

That day after classes the teen decided to take a walk around the grounds. Alone. Dressed in a pair of casual jeans and his black hoodie, with the holding covering his hair the second year would emerge from the castle walls.

Henry felt rather awkward being alone, in the absence of friends and his orange feline; Loki but he tucked his hands in his hoodie pockets and continued on letting his thoughts consume him as he walked.

It hasn't been that long even the teen noticed three students gather together among a patch of flowers creating crowns from the flowers and twine it seemed.

At first the teen kept his distance from the group, watching and smiling a bit. Thinking to himself how fun it seemed and how the group were creating a new memory to look back on for later in harder, darker times.

Henry considered going over as he watched from behind the tree he stood, recognizing the boy as the older gryffindor he ran into once in the hospital wing when he was there visiting Rose after the duels. So naturally Henry assumed he was a gryffindor dueler and also from the hockey game a few months back as well.

The next he recognized was the gryffindor girl with a teal streak in her hair as Katrina Walker. Remembering that they met in the room of requirement when he accidently and still felt guilty about walking in on her playing the piano to accompany her voice in different songs which sounded beautiful to the boy. Besides from meeting her at the trial again and remembering how the two had shared suspicions about the event and a few other places as well.

The last was the only unfamiliar one to the teen and he still didn't thunk he should have gone over there but he took a breath, leaving his hood on to cover his hair and part of his face as he approached the group.

Giving a slight wave before shoving his hands in his hoodie pocket as he smile before speaking" Hello, I apology if am disturbing you mates," no emotions could be seen on Henry besides from the small smile, " I just noticed the flower crowns and they look speculator. Uh, I'm probably bothering you lot and could leave?"

April had felt like a very long month. It had started with one hell of a disaster, an experience that had been altogether chaotic and definitely still lingered in his thoughts. Then there had been the Trial by Fear, hosted by Paine and Lestrange, an entertaining diversion. His first duel with Willow had followed and throughout all of that, he had been doing anything and everything he could to gain House points, hoping to earn a chance to help organize the upcoming Blossom Ball. He hadn’t quite taken first place, much to his disappointment, but second place was still a success. With all of that out of the way, he found himself with a brief respite with nothing in particular that needed his attention and a rare need to be somewhere that wasn’t the library.

Passing through the courtyard on his way back toward the dorm, he paused, eyes drifting away from the stone walls toward the green fields of the grounds. The warmth of the sun was a lure he had no reason to resist and he turned his steps down the path that led to the grounds, an aimless and peaceful amble. Eventually his eyes would catch sight of a shock of red hair among the wildflowers, a familiar face beneath it. Lips curved into an amused smile at the sight of Ruka sitting in the field. He appeared to be focused on something but Kazuo was too far away to see what it was. Though he couldn’t see what Ruka was doing, he could see the two girls who seemed to be watching him.

Kazuo’s head tilted slightly as he watched, pausing his own walk as a third student approached Ruka, someone he was beginning to know well with how frequently they seemed to cross paths. His eyes narrowed even as his lips quirked upward in a smirk. Impulsively, he stripped off his shoes and his socks, stashing them in the satchel he used to carry his school books. He crept silently toward the group, watching as the three seemed to be waiting on Ruka to respond to them. “Ki~ tsu~ ne~ bi~ Foxfire He spoke in a singsong as he slipped up beside Ruka and immediately sank down into a cross-legged position, examining the assorted crafting tools in front of the older boy. Once he could see them, it was obvious what Ruka was doing. “Are you making crowns for the girls?” He joked as he gazed up at Samantha and Katrina, giving them a friendly smile. Then his gaze shifted to Henry, giving the Slytherin a calculating stare and a wicked smirk. “Knight. Are you hoping Ruka will make you a crown too? Come to think of it, the first time I saw you, you were also with Ruka… How amusing.”

“Need some help?” Kazuo turned his question back toward Ruka, though his gaze stayed on Henry.

Ruka hadn't exactly expected company, but for a change he couldn't actually say he minded when a girl he didn't think he'd seen before approached him to ask about what he was doing. Surely he made quite the sight, surrounded by all kinds of decorations, scissors, wires and greenery, but he was too invested in his current project to even look away from the purple blossom he was skilfully weaving into the wire string. Instead he hummed his acknowledgment to the girl and nodded his head in the direction of all his materials. "I'm making flower crowns," he explained simply, eyes lighting up with glee when he managed to get the greenery into the position he wanted it in. "Help yourself if you want to make one too. I've got plenty of stuff." With that he cast a glance upwards, smiling gently at the girl to make her feel more welcome.

Before he could say anything else, however, another girl had approached them. This one was familiar to Ruka, if only vaguely. He remembered her from his short time on the Duelling Team, also still had the bracelet she had made for the team, though now that he wasn't part of it anymore he had opted not to wear it. Instead it lay safely in the trunk he stored all his valued possessions in.

Nodding at Katrina's question as to whether he was making flower crowns, Ruka gestured around himself. "Feel free," he said calmly, reaching out to offer her some wire. "There's enough space, and I brought more than enough for a few crowns." Lightly shrugging his shoulders, Ruka lifted a hand to sheepishly rub the back of his neck before resuming work on his own flower crown.

He didn't get very far because the two girls were not the only ones who's attention had been drawn to him. Yet another person approached to see what they were doing; Henry was not unfamiliar to Ruka as they seemed to cross paths relatively frequently, but he couldn't remember ever having had a real conversation with the boy. All Ruka knew was that he seemed a bit awkward and shy whenever they had met before. Henry's so far unnecessary apology was met with the wave of a hand, but Ruka didn't get to say anything else before a familiar voice rang close by, causing him to grin in the direction it came from.

The word Kazuo decided to singsong upon his approach was one Ruka could only guess the meaning of, but the language differences between them had intrigued him from the start, so Ruka was quick to focus his attention on the newest addition to their little group with genuine curiosity. "What's it mean?" he asked, head tilted to the side. With a faint lilt to each syllable he tried to repeat the foreign word. "Kee-tsu-neh-bee," he muttered, cringing at his own pronunciation.

Nudging his elbow against Kazuo's side in greeting when the other boy sat down next to him, Ruka couldn't help a small grin from tugging at his lips when he was asked if he was making flower crowns for the girls. "For all you know I could be making one for you," he pointed out as he handed Kazuo some twine and scissors. "Wanna make one too?"

Turning his attention back to his own flower crown for a moment, Ruka let out a small chuckle as he listened to Kazuo addressing Henry with the observation that they seemed to be crossing paths frequently. "He already thinks he's bothering us," Ruka pointed out with raised eyebrows, lightly nodding his head in Henry's direction. "Let him try his hand at making his own crown. He could go from Knight to King in no time at all." Laughing quietly, Ruka gestured for Henry to sit down and use the materials if he wanted to before smiling at Kazuo and gently shaking his head. "I don't need help, but do stay. I dare say your company makes things interesting."

After the boy had invented Samantha to make a flower crown, he looked up and gave a welcoming smile. A bit surprised by the invention Samantha sat down, not to close to the boy to make it awkward and not to far away from the supplies. Samantha hadn't expected to be making flower crowns today, but it seemed like a good time to spend her time. "I've never made a flower crown before, but it sounds like fun."

The young girl was trying to figure out what to do, she had never made a flower crown before as she was never interested in something creative, she preferred reading a book or being with her friends. Before Samantha could ask what exactly she had to do, a voice reached her ears. "I hope I’m not interrupting anything," Samantha looked up to see an other older girl join the party. Samantha knew she had seen her before, but couldn't come up with where. "Impending anything? Of course not! The more, the merrier." Samantha gave a little smile.

The brunette looked at her company and felt really young, the other two students must be at least second years if not third. It was like Samantha's though had summoned Henry, the second year approached the group and started talking. As Samantha looked at him something clicked in her head, she had seen this boy and the other girl at the trial by fear. She turned her head to the girl with a streak of teal in her hair to check if it was true, the sudden movement would look odd to somebody who wasn't able to follow Samantha's thoughts.

Samantha looked puzzled at the words of the new boy, why would you join to leave after not even a whole minute. "Well, you don't bother me," Samantha smiled, "I can't speak for the others of course. And about the flower crowns," the girl looked down at what was suppose to be her flower crown. She hadn't started on hers yet, she had just chattered some supplies, "Mine for sure isn't pretty, yet. Hopefully it will look acceptable at the end."

An other boy joined the group, greeting the first boy in a language Samantha didn't know. Even though she was working on her flower crown Samantha listen to the boys and laughed at the jokes they made. The young eagle had been quieter that usual, a bit overwhelmed by all the new and older students.

Katrina, thankfully, wasn’t dismissed and was rather accepted into the slowly growing group rather fast. The atmosphere was calm and almost cozy, the warmth of the sun seeming to seep into Katrina’s bones, making her warm and a bit lethargic. It was a good kind of tired, though, far better than the alternative of being on edge and anxious for something to go horribly wrong. Katrina watched in quiet curiosity as Ruka continued creating the flower crowns, somehow knowing exactly what to do and where to create the growing chain of flowers and embellishments.

Henry arrived at the group not too long after Katrina, he seemed in a pleasant mood as well, a bit different than Katrina had seen him before, less on edge perhaps. He inquired if he should leave as Katrina had but he was, similarly offered to stay and make the crowns as well by Ruka.

Another boy showed up quickly as well, Katrina sort of recognized him, but from what she wasn’t sure. Perhaps just passing in the halls or being in the same place at the same time. She didn’t know him enough to know his name or much about him, but he was somewhat recognizable. He quickly seated himself, saying something to Ruka in a language Katrina wasn’t familiar with. He joked at Ruka, asking if he was making crowns for ‘the girls’, referring to the other girl and herself. Ruka grinned and quickly deflected the question.

Katrina grabbed a few supplies, some twine, a few items that caught her eye, and settled back, taking a seat. She began slowly entwining the string and flowers together, taking a while before getting a bit in the hang of it. It was slow work and Katrina was almost constantly going back and redoing things, but it was less difficult than she originally thought. She began making little bunches of small flowers and spacing them out around the twine.

Ruka made some comments about Henry learning to make his own crown, something about him going from a Knight to a King, what a cleaver word choice. Katrina took notes, witty comments were so much fun but almost always something that she could only come up with in certain circumstances. Katrina smiled at the jokes between the boys, focusing more on the flower crown than adding to the conversation.

Is there a proper way to make the crowns or is randomly braiding and tying knots the proper way?” Katrina smiled a bit worriedly and held up her crown which had now become mostly undone and had flowers falling out of it. Making the flower crowns wasn’t so easy after all.

Was it possible for someone to be so annoying but also enjoy their company oddly?

Kazou definitely came close to that. The hufflepuff was rather annoying at times but also his presence was mildly entertaining.

When the hufflepuff first entered the scene, Henry didn't show it but he has mixed feelings about the boy. While they did admire his intellect and skill in dueling if he remembered correctly from their 'practice' duel where it seemed no prefects or professors ever walked into the grounds to see the illegal duel take place, he also found him annoying and childish even.

Henry would watch Kazuo speak with Ruka, giving the hufflepuff only a slight nod before looking at the others there and giving a smile to the girl who he didn't quite know yet and her words that was until he heard the hufflepuff turn to him with a question or rather a statement.

"I thought that was why you were here as well Kazuo. To see if Ruka could make you a flower crown as well, the crowns could match your outfit style in your next duel," Henry replied to the hufflepuff before turning toward Ruka with a small smile as he spoke" thanks Ruka, I am glad that I'm not a bother but I think I'll perfer to stay a Knight for now. Perhaps I'll make one for someone instead if you don't mind," Henry felt uncomfortable near Kazou, mainly since he kept remembering their last few meetings so the young teen would grab a few supplies and sit find a seat on the ground close to the group, specifically near Katrina and perhaps Samantha.

Henry would lay his material in front of himself as he looked up at the only girl he didn't know and smiled toward her as he spoke" Hi, uh I'm Henry and your crown looks like it will be bloody excellent," before eyeing Katrina as he gave her a small smoke and spoke" hey."

The young teen then thought that he didn't exactly know what he was suppose to do or how to make a flower crown but thankfully Katrina asked her question in which Henry nodded as he spoke" I have the same question, is there a special way to make a flower crown or is it just tying knots and braiding?"

Kazuo grinned at Ruka when the older boy asked him what he had been called, nodding a bit at his pronunciation. It wasn’t terrible. He held his hands up beside his head in a fox hand sign, smirking at Ruka. “Kitsune.” Then he paused, glancing around for some way to mime the second part but not finding anything particularly useful. Bi is fire.” He added to the explanation with a shrug. “Foxfire.”

He picked up a single flower, a bright red one, and tucked it into his hair behind his ear then leaned into Ruka a bit, chuckling. “For me? How sweet~” He began collecting a multicoloured pile of flowers in his lap and measuring out some twine. His eyes shifted to Henry as the boy addressed him and he grinned. “Yes please, Ruka~ Make me a crown to celebrate my next win.” Self-assured, not at all bothered by the commentary on his dueling outfit. If that was an attempt at making fun of him Henry would have to try harder. He was not at all ashamed of what made him different and preferred to stand out besides. “Properly gold, maybe kiku - chrysanthemums.” Kazuo was joking of course, as he returned his focus to the flowers and twine, but he couldn’t resist responding to Henry.

He glanced over at the girls’ crowns, giving them both a smile. “It’s more time-consuming than difficult, once you get the hang of it.” He supplied as he reached for the floral wire, forming an outline to attach the flowers to. “And you look like you’re getting the hang of it already.” He lined up his first flower, carefully wrapping the twine, then adding a different coloured flower and another, forming a sort of rainbow pattern, broken by the occasional splash of white. “Favorite flower?” He asked the group in general as he worked.
