The puck was free for anyone who dared try to go for it.
At first Henry did but then would come to a halt when he saw that again.... for the second time he was the only one on his team heading for the black disc while again both the black haired asian boy and the ravenclaw captain went to fight for the puck. However the twelve year old realized why should he try hard or even at all since apparently none of his teammates care that much about the game to actually try to get the puck so why should Henry?
Halfway to the puck, the boy would stop and skate the opposite way particularly toward the other goal that was guarded by a fellow slytherin dueler whom Henry watched failed at jinxing him with the blindfolding jinx only to blindfold herself. The second year just skated past unfazed but glad that a spell never backfired against him well not yet....
The twelve year old was halfway around the ice when he came upon two hufflepuff's; the blonde hair boy and the rainbow clad girl on his team who Henry was pretty sure that their name was Willow... possibly... anyway Henry watched the two collide and have either a awkward hug or unbalanced body check. The second year would skate over to the two since they were the nicest two on the ice but it was like the bar was set high for that especially compared to someone like Ileen.
Henry would stop just in front of the two and offer a hand to Willow to help her off the ice as he spoke" are you mate's alright?" his British accent flowing throughout his words as his eyes gazed over Willow before the blonde as he would continued" it could be worse, at least no one got hurt," not the best bright side but a bright side. Henry would wait till Willow was on her feet again before giving each a small smile and nod and stakeing off.
A few feet from them and Henry saw Ileen finally finishing her penalty lap and seemed to be judging everyone.
The boy let his eyes rest on the fellow slytherin for a moment before looking elsewhere within his mind at least he thought of Ileen as rather competitive maybe even considered ruthless in some cases. Hypocrite and aggressive were two other words that could describe Ileen perfectly at least to Henry....
Honestly she's a nightmare, it won't be a surprise if she hasn't got any friends even that black haired boy is more tolerable than her...
Henry skated past and saw the only member of his team who appeared to have actually cared about the outcome; Thomas Lestrange casting the knockback jinx at the black hair boy and Henry decided to nod a bit to him as he spoke" nice casting," before skating off and letting his eyes land on the two newest members of his team.
Alan Vanes and Cash Ironwoods... neither had gome for the puck but both at least were trying to help the team by body checking players of the other team. While neither hit anyone at least they both were trying right? Sometimes trying your best was the best one could do... isn't that a saying?
Anyway with no sudden urge to rush into the middle of a pileup and risk getting injured, Henry would skate up to Cash and start skating besides them when he heard their words.
"now you know why we needed you and Alan mate," Henry replied giving a small smile to the purple hair slytherin before continuing" apparently team 2 is the misfit team where players blame each other instead of working together." The boy's words weren't completely wrong since he was blaming Ileen for everything going on, unknown to him Ileen was blaming around about the whole team while others no doubt pointed their own fingers somewhere else.
Henry smiled a bit and leaned closer to Cash as he whispered" what would you reckon would happen if someone levitated the puck into the goal?"

Dee bristled when Thomas Lestrange managed to deflect her shot, although just barely. At least he'd had to scramble a little, and next time, she'd know what she was doing. Next time, he wouldn't be so lucky.
It got worse when he used her name to taunt her, obviously not fooled by her (poor) attempt at denying it. It felt like it caused all her hair to stand up at the roots in disgust, from the fine hair on her arms to the long brown locks currently covered by her hat. Lucky for him, she couldn't actually cut people with her glare, but that didn't keep her from trying. "Keep it up and I might actually shoot you one day," she snapped back. He'd gained the upper hand today, and they both knew it. She wasn't even sure that scoring a point against him would be enough to make up for that.
The puck bounced away from the goalie, wobbling back over the ice, and Dee spotted the opportunity to perhaps take another shot right away. He couldn't keep this up, right? Surely, he wasn't actually a good player, this was all just luck.
Eyes on the puck, Dee pushed herself forward, but she wasn't the only one on her team who had spotted it. No one from Team Red seemed to be reacting to the puck at all, though, and she gave the nearby players a confused look. Had they just... given up? Or maybe they all just disliked their goalie so much that they wanted Team Blue to score? Honestly, she wasn't quite sure what she'd do if she was on his team, which part would win: Her spiteful wish to see him lose, or her own competitive nature. Would be a close fight, probably.
Although she'd been the first to spot it, the moment of distraction gave Kazuo the opportunity to get to the puck, just a second before she reached it, and Dee slowed down, a scowl on her face, barely managing to avoid crashing into him. Fine then, she grudgingly decided, it was his turn again. Maybe she could prove useful in other ways - like chucking her stick at Thomas Lestrange's head if he used her full name one more time.
Before she could further contemplate this rather tempting course of action, something else drew her attention. Or rather someone else. It wasn't very hard to duck out of the way, but it was rather clear that Alan had been aiming for her, with whatever intention, and she gave him a dark look. "Even you?" she asked in an injured voice, as if she was Caesar who had just been stabbed in the back by his close friend. It seemed Team Red really did have it out for her.

Opeila was enthusiastic. She had just casted hell of a spell and while she felt sorry for poor Cassandra... she couldn't help feeling proud of herself. Why couldn't she cast spells like that during her duels?
Excitedly moving back and forth on the ice, always in reach of her goal of course, she watched the game proceed. Thomas was also casting spells at her teammates, she could see Kazuo fall over after being hit by a spell that Opeila could identify as a Flipendo without a problem, even from distance. After getting hit by one or two, you simply knew what it looked like...
Again she considered risking the penalty and jinxing the other team's goalie. Was it worth the shot? Another player caught Opeila's attention and she changed her plans. Casting spells at attack players was safer, a lot less that could go wrong. Right?
"Obscuro!!
Wrong.
The Slytherin was too enthusiastic. While casting the spell, one of her skates slipped, causing her to pull up her wand in some weird motion, trying to catch her balance again. And then... The world around her was suddenly black. Startled the second year stumbled backwards until she felt the goal in her back and reached up for the black piece of fabric that covered her eyes.

"Wh-whoa," the Gryffindor yelped as he was caught by Flash who would more or less run through him with his shoulder checking him violently. He stumbled for a bit but managed to catch himself before falling victim to gravity, a bit of shock and surprise written over his face as he followed Flash with his eyes, gasping slightly. After he was over the first shock however he shook his head and forced his focus back onto the game; he would have to get back at his friend for that later, he promised himself with a excited grin forming on his face. "I'll get you back for that later," he promised all in fair game. The game was on!
Well he know that the game wouldn't be going on for too much longer as the next goal might win the game for either team as they were aiming for a best out of 3, but Alan would be there for the ride however long it would last. He liked the idea and wondered whether he should be implementing seasonal games into the numerous activities Flash and Alan could be able to do with their shared club. The opportunities were practically endless and he was aware that all it took was a bit of creativity and the brain to figure out how it could be done.

Willow's friendship senses were tingling, this time for giving love to a fellow badger. Jake Morris was a Hufflepuff that she had interacted with every now and again, and someone she considered dear to her from his soft nature and similar love for his stuffed animals. She had a fond memory of herself, him, and Mildred all playing with their stuffed animals together in the common room. The idea of exploring Atlantis together still bright in her mind. When she heard the whisper on the wind of him needing a hug it seemed like her turned around just in time to be taken down to the ground by Jake who was covered in pillows. The wind was knocked out of her a bit from the land on her back onto the ice, but the front of her was just fine with the cushioning provided from the other badger.
After recovering her breath she couldn't help but giggle and give him a quick and tight squeeze. "Jakey you doing ok?" She had a feeling neither of them really had anticipated the intensity that was this game. The two of them were much better suited for cuddling like this. It wasn't long before Henry skated over and helped her up, she gladly took his hand up. "Just fine! Thank you for helping me up." As she got her bearings once more, she brushed herself off. She gave a soft smile to Jake, "You're doing great Jake, we got this." While they weren't on the same team, she wanted to encourage him just the same.

Jake skated over to Willow, still sniffling and trying to keep the tears that threatened to come to his eyes at bay. Hockey wasn't very fun, and he couldn't keep on his feet, no matter how much he tried - even though he had thought he knew how to skate. He realized as he almost got up to Willow that she wasn't ready for him, but he still didn't know how to stop, and so he bumped into her, putting his arms around her as they both toppled.
He came to a stop on the ground, again, feeling defeated. Then she let out a giggle and put her arms around him. He rested his head on her, as she asked if he was doing ok. Her friendly voice put him at ease, but he answered honestly."No...." the boy answered, sniffling again, but a hug from Willow always made him feel a little better. "I keep falling..." he whined. "Sorry...." he apologized. He hadn't meant to knock her over. He just wanted a hug.
The nice boy from the other team came and helped them both up. He mumbled his thank you after Willow did, though by now Jake would have been happy to just stay on the ground with Willow, instead of back onto his feet in the game he was failing at. Willow told him he was doing great. She wasn't the first one to say it.
"But I can't even stay standing up...!" he answered. But he didn't want to let down his team, so he had to keep trying...didn't he? What kind of Hufflepuff would he be if he abandoned them? He wiped at his eyes so nobody would see a tear or two had come to them, and then he tried to do his best on his feet, recharged just a little by Willow's hug.

At this point Lydia was practically useless. She had decided to try and tackle someone in order to slow the opponent team down in some way, since scoring was clearly not her thing. But as she skated towards the nearest student, ready to tackle them and hopefully knock them down, she realised that her vision was way more blurry than what she thought it was.
The impact, again, never came; her skates kept moving on the ice, but she never met anybody in her tracks. Feeling more and more frustrated with herself, Lydia took a moment to let herself take a proper breath through the endless snot that had decided to just lay on her face. The feeling of it was just gross, everything was feeling slimy and snotty, and that only made her nausea worse, as if the light head wasn't doing enough already.
As she stood there, observing the game unfold in front of her, the Hufflepuff girl wondered how long she still had until the inevitable moment in which she would have fainted and fallen with her bum on the ice. It wouldn't have been long, or at least she assumed so, since her head was getting lighter and lighter, the shivers were making her shake like a leaf, and if that wasn't enough, the snot and the nausea were making it hard to breathe. But beside all of this, Lydia wouldn't have given up; she would have kept fighting for her team until the end.
Once she felt like her head was feeling "heavy" enough, Lydia looked around once again, before she decided her next move.

ROUND 9
The longer the game lasted, the more certain the players seemed on their skates, speeding across the ice in sure strides. Or well, at least most of them did. Team Blue's resident bulldozer, Flash Holmwood, was likely on his way to run over another member of Team Red, when he caught on a groove in the ice, indicating the deteriorating ice quality caused by the twelve kids aimlessly crossing paths on it. Flash barely had the time to realise what was happening before he stumbled forward, landing awkwardly on his hockey stick. Ouch.Balance Check DC5/6

Thomas successfully guards. The puck rebounds and is free to snatch.
In another iteration of this scene, @Kazuo Shimada had managed to gain control of the puck, and made another brave attempt at shooting it into Team Red's net. However, he barely even managed to hit it with the blade of his stick, and it wobbled more than shot in direction of the goal. @Thomas Lestrange barely had to move at all - in fact, it kind of looked like he didn't move at all - for it to bounce off and slowly slide back across the ice.
Perhaps his lack of aim had been because Kazuo had sacrificed precision for speed, in an attempt to score before the wave of players from the red team came crashing over him.Initiative: Dealla vs Alan

Free of the puck, he easily managed to duck out of the way when @Alan Vanes came hurtling towards him, whose momentum would carry him far past Kazuo. Perhaps Alan should have brought Tiger as a distraction.
But the danger was not averted just by dodging one badly aimed attack from a first-time skater. While @Ileen Knight might have originally been planning to steal the puck, she didn't let the fact that it had left Kazuo's possession deter her in the slightest, happily taking the opportunity to repay the Hufflepuff for the horrible crimes he had committed against her. With Kazuo slightly distracted, she braced herself and executed a decent approximation of a hockey check, although her strength did not suffice to push him off his feet.Initiative: Dealla vs Ileen

@Cassandra Ironwoods was keeping their head in the game and their eyes... not on the puck, but at least on their opponents. Perhaps sensing that Dealla would make another grab for the puck once it was free on the ice, the Slytherin decided to stop the Ravenclaw Duelling captain before she'd have the opportunity to. It was a good thing that Team Blue's half of the field had been deserted for the past couple of minutes, as @Opeila Winters would not have been in any condition to guard her net, considering the blindfold she had conjured over her own eyes. Oddly, the puck was again not getting much attention. Ileen skated over the surface of the frozen lake, feeling more secure on her skates now and determined to steal the puck from her new favorite Hufflepuff. Apparently, she was not the only one who had chosen the boy as their target.
Alan Vanes, the older Gryffinor who had helped Ileen to save Liv, rushed towards Kazuo as well, a little bit faster than her. When had he joined the game? Ileen had been too busy fighting with Kazuo and Henry to notice the new teammates. However, in this moment it didn’t matter if Alan was on her team or her opponent. She wanted to reach Kazuo first. Stealing the puck would be the right way to repay him for his crimes and tackles earlier and she was not happy that someone else wanted to take that from her.
Unfortunately, neither of them was fast enough anyway. Kazuo managed to shoot barely one second before Alan crossed his way and nearly hit him.
Hopefully Lestrange would get it together and save it, otherwise the game would be over. And even worse - Kazuo would score this triumph.
Out of the corner of her eye, she just saw the puck bounce. She couldn't tell if Lestrange had deflected it or if Kazuo's aim was simply bad. It all happened in a split second before she herself, unable and admittedly unwilling to slow her pace, slammed into the Hufflepuff. Though she had sworn never to harm anyone, this was surely allowed. She had not achieved her original goal, but tackling him back gave her a grim satisfaction. “Oh, sorry! Have not seen you standing there”, she mirrored his unhonest apology from before and made a face at him, trying to stay on her own feet. Unfortunately, he did too. But not for long.
As the Hufflepuff was still struggling from her tackle, Willow, who probably also had her eyes on the puck, smashed into the boy. At least, it looked like it. Whatever had happened there, he ended up on the ground.
A mean smirk spread over Ileen’s face and she actually stopped and turned around to look down on him. That felt good. Although it had not been her who had sent him on the ground, she would take partial credit for the result. She had thrown him off balance and Willow had finished the job.
A warm and friendly smile was given to the Hufflepuff girl. Ileen had felt good vibes from her before, hence she had tried to cheer her up when Lestrange had been picking on her. Now, she was absolutely sure. This girl was a friend. “Nice job!”

He didn’t have much time. Puck on his stick, heading toward the net, he knew he was a target. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Alan and, desperate to get a shot off before the older boy could try to steal the puck from him, he drew back and slapped the puck toward the net. Unfortunately, his aim was not nearly as good as his first shot and Thomas barely had to move to block it. ”Tch.” He clicked his teeth in irritation as he gracefully spun out of Alan’s path. Unfortunately, Alan wasn’t the only Red targeting Kazuo and as he scanned the ice for the rebound of his failed attempt, Ileen swooped in for her vengeance, knocking into him. He turned to see her making a face at him as she mock-apologized and snorted in amusement, giving her a grin.
“Try not to fall again~” He taunted back but those words would come back to haunt him as yet another Red decided he would make a good target. This time it was Willow targeting him with her patented hug-tackle technique. Could the pale Japanese boy grow paler? Quite possibly as the thought of being hugged to the ground drew a strangled and mildly panicked shout. “Ie!” Not that Willow was likely to understand what he had shouted, nor was she likely to stop even if she had heard him. They were in the middle of a hockey game after all and Willow was just playing the game, albeit in her own hug-happy way. As she knocked into him, he resigned himself to his fate, grimacing as he hit the ice. Defeated by a hug, how embarrassing.
At least Lydia had managed to grab the rebound.
