Collection of letters between Dealla and her grandparents
1st May 2020
Our dearest Dealla,
we are very sorry that this letter is so late. We only now heard that you were at Hogwarts, or we would have written to you sooner, now that your parents cannot keep you from receiving our messages.
We hope you are well. We heard that you have been sorted into Ravenclaw, a fine and worthy House, although we are sure you would have made an outstanding Slytherin as well. We are also pleased that, despite his other misled decisions, your father decided to name you Dealla. It is an honorable name and you should be proud of it.
We do not know what lies your parents have told you about us, but please believe us when we say that it was not our choice to not be part of your life. Your parents have been keeping you from us, and even moved to the other side of the country to make sure you would not know us, and it breaks our heart.
We have been waiting impatiently for you to come to Hogwarts so we would have a chance of knowing you.
We know this must be hard for you to hear, and come very unexpectedly, but we would really love to meet you this summer. You can spend a week at our manor if you want to. We are sure your parents would not deny you this wish.

Friday, 2nd October 2020
Our dearest Dealla,
we hope that these words find you well. We do not hold against you that you never responded to our last message, or to the offer to visit us during the summer. It must have been confusing for you to get read that letter, and we apologise if we took you off-guard. After all, your parents have been poisoning you against us for the past decade.
Still, we could not rest easy without making another attempt to contact you, but decided to wait for you to settle into your second year at Hogwarts. We have heard that you finished your first year with exemplary grades, and have not been surprised to hear that you have been appointed as Duelling Captain for your House. We expected nothing less from you, but are pleased to see that you are not bringing shame to our family name.
We have also heard that you have been tasked with organising the Fall Ball at Hogwarts, to represent the school to visitors from other countries, and are certain that you will continue to live up to our expectations. For this occasion, we have decided to entrust you with one of our family heirlooms. It has been in the Creek family for generations, and was traditionally given to the next generation as a wedding present. As your father never married, it seems only right that it should be yours now. We hope that you might wear it at your ball.
We also want to repeat our previous invitation to visit us. You would love Christmas in London.

A Careful Sequence
Friday, 5th February 2021
Our dearest Dealla,
We hope this letter finds you well. It has been a few months since our last letter, and we have heard it has been an eventful few months for you. We were not surprised but still saddened that the letter and our present went unanswered. Still, we wanted to express our continued interest in your activities. Your duelling team seems to be thriving under your leadership, and your ball appears to have mostly been a success.
Christmas has now passed, and we expected you to spend it with your parents in Whitehaven, but wanted you to know we have been thinking of you even in your absence. Since you have completed the mandatory flying program in your first year, we assume you have mastered the basics of flying, although we have heard that you could have put in a little more effort. In that spirit, we will be sending a late Christmas present along with this letter. Perhaps you will find it useful.
We want you to know that our offer of visiting us is a standing one. You would be welcome here over Easter, or coming summer. At the least, however, we hope to receive a letter from you. While we are not angry at your silence, we must admit that each unanswered letter brings a little disappointment. Is it too much to ask that we hear about our granddaughter's achievements in her own words?

A Careful Sequence
Thursday, 10th June 2021
Our dearest Dealla,
Our warmest congratulations to your 13th birthday. Although this letter will be arriving after the day, please know that we have spent the day thinking about you, and we hope it was a pleasant one. Considering your continuing lack of reply, we thought receiving a letter form us might not be what you want on your day, so we delayed sending it, to let you enjoy the day without disturbance.
The school year is approaching its end, and from what we know, you are bringing pride to the family name, although you do not carry it. We heard about your appointment as prefect of your House, and would have expected nothing less from our granddaughter.
Although we do not wish to pressure you, we want to repeat our invitation: Our doors are open to you, whenever you might want to walk through them. We would be delighted if you chose to come, this summer, or any time after.
We would love to hear from you.

Thank you for your letters and presents. I received them. My birthday was nice, too.
