A New Friend?

Private Interaction with @Everly Charlton
It'd been a few weeks since Amethyst first arrived at school, and she was getting accustomed to it. She woke up early every day (as she was used to) and was usually one of the first people to get to the Great Hall for breakfast.
This morning, when she got there she recognized someone sitting on a bench at the Gryffindor table. What was her name? Emmerson?
Amethyst couldn't quite remember. She was about to sit at the Ravenclaw table, when she remembered her goal to make friends. She was nervous about it, but she knew she would be happier in the long run if she made some more friends. So she walked up to the table and sat down right beside her.
Everly! That was her name. Everly Charlton. She even remembered when she'd been sorted. I hope you don't mind, I read about her Sorting and I thought it would be cool to add. She'd seemed like a bundle of nerves, and when she was sorted, she'd looked sort of.. relieved? Amethyst wasn't quite sure of the emotion.
She pulled herself back to the present, and looked up at Everly. She was suddenly anxious, but she soldiered on.
"You're Everly, right? I'm Amethyst! The food here's great, isn't it? At home, I never got anything so good except for maybe at holidays. You know, one time my grandmother made something so good, and I thought it was the best thing I'd ever have, but then I got here and..." Amethyst babbled on and on with her nerves, and she jolted to a stop, putting her hands over her mouth. "Sorry about that! I don't usually talk so much."
Amethyst smiled shyly, and gave Everly a chance to speak. She hadn't let Everly get a word in since she sat down.

#b76e79Everly hated tomatoes. Absolutely hated them.
This was the thought running through Everly's head all morning.
Everly was still adjusting to Hogwarts. It was certainly... different than what she was used to, but Everly was liking it so far. Mostly.
Breakfast was laid out before her, and Everly avoided the tomatoes like the plague. She didn't know why, but the Gryffindor had discovered a hatred of them when she was little, and her brothers teased her about it for no absolute reason. Was Everly... supposed to like tomatoes?
Everly was brought out of her deep rant about tomatoes by the sound of someone sitting down next to her. She was about to yell at them to leave and get their own hoard of tomatoes, when she realized that it wasn't another Gryffindor. It was another student from one of the other houses - Ravenclaw, she remembered, throwing a look over at the table that the student was supposed to be sitting at.
The girl began to ramble, and Everly missed the first few words in her thoughts. When the girl finally paused, Everly chewed her lip, one eyebrow raised.
"Well uh... hi there, Amethyst! Yeah, I guess so. I honestly have not had some good food in a long time. Hogwarts is cool, I guess. What do you think?"
Everly braved together a sort-of-smile, her head tilted in a curious way as she looked at Amethyst. Meh, maybe she could still destroy the tomatoes after this.─────────────────────────────────

A New Friend?
Interacting with @Everly CharltonAmethyst smiled, relieved that her rambling hadn't cost her a new friend. She tilted her head thoughtfully, thinking. She thought Hogwarts was amazing. It was the best place she'd ever been. "I think this place is awesome. It's so interesting and fun, because of all the secret passageways and rooms and stuff." Amethyst helped herself to some pancakes, maybe loading up a bit too much.
She noticed how Everly stared at the tomatoes. It was very strange, but Amethyst didn't pay too much mind to it. She was mostly focused on the food, which was, like she had said, the best thing she'd ever tasted. How could any one thing taste so good? Was it enchanted? Honestly, that was probably it. They'd enchanted it to taste good.
Amethyst decided to test it, grabbing a piece of cottage cheese. It was fine with other things, but Amethyst did not like it on its own. She hesitantly took a bite of the cheese, and immediately regretted it. Nope, not enchanted. She didn't want to be gross, though, so she swallowed the digusting mush and shuddered. She took a deep drink of her milk, and she was about to set it down when her elbow hit the table and the milk went flying—all over Everly!Word Count: 213
