That's a Wall Solo Finished

Not even two weeks ago Chaleur had been told that she was a 'witch' and had been invited to attend a prestigious school filled with students who could do 'magic.' What a silly and ridiculous idea. A trick, she had thought. But here she was, frazzled from the day before that had been filled with shopping in a part of London that she had never heard of before where every other step she ran into creatures from fairytales, people casting spells and incantations, inanimate objects coming to life, and even felt her own power surge through her body the moment she had laid hands on that old wand in a dusty little shop called Ollivanders. She hadn't gotten a wink after that.

Her world had been chewed up and spit out right before her eyes, and yet, out of all of the obstacles that she had faced thus far and overcome, it was here and now on this bright morning at the train station that Chaleur had come face to face with the most absurd challenge yet. A wall.

Waves of humanity passed her by as she stood still, eyeballing the wall with bewildered emerald orbs reddened by lack of sleep. The letter had said board at platform 9 3/4. She checked the cursed parchment for the third time, and the eloquent little scribbles of ink stared right back at her. She had a sudden urge to crumble the paper and throw it, but refrained.

The professor who had delivered her letter to her had mentioned something like this when he dropped her off in Diagon Alley. "There's a wall. You'll want to go trolley first at a bit of a run." This was one of many vague and quickly explained instructions given to her. Then he patted her on her shoulder and disappeared. Literally. Chaleur almost fell over at the sight of it. She handled herself fairly well, if she did say so herself, but that was done and gone and she had a new issue at hand. Did he really mean 'run into' the wall? Why not? Wouldn't be the strangest thing she had seen today but...could she? Was she really magical like everyone was telling her? Nothing made sense anymore, and at this point she was just going the direction everyone else was pointing her in. They acted as though everything were perfectly right.

So why not? What's the worst that could happen? She run into the wall, spill all of her supplies, and camera crew comes out and shouts "Surprise, it was a joke!" That was plausible, and brought about a sort of relief to her, but something in her gut told her it wouldn't be that way. Simply to spite her at this point.

Right. Well, she didn't have all day. Apparently this "train" takes off at eleven sharp, and she was running short on time. She side-eyed the people around her, inhaled a few times, and throwing her sense of self preservation to the wind, she took off toward the wall. She braced for the impact she knew would come, but it never did.

She cracked open her eyes and through locks of strawberry-blonde hair that whipped wildly around her she took in the new scene before her. A long black train resting in a station filled to the brim with children much like herself pushing around the same carts. The train blew it's horn, and a new sort of excitement washed over her. This was really happening.
