Winter Break, Hamphire, England

" Paige! Sweety! I've missed you! How is everything?" Paige laughed as her mom pulled her into a tight hug. "Too tight!" Paige's mom pulled away with a smile. " Come on, you can tell me on the way home. " Paige dragged her luggage as she walked to the car with her mom. Same old minivan. Paige shoved it in the trunk before opening the door to the front seat. " BAAAH!" Paige jumped as her older brother sprung from the car. " Not funny. Now get- I'm sitting in the front. " Ross crawled over to the back seat. Not funny, eh? Tell that to your smile. " Paige rolled her eyes. Her mom started up the car and Paige looked out the window.

Suddenly she noticed it was quiet and she looked around. Her mom was casting looks at her. "what? What is it?" But her mom just shook her head with a smile. Nothing! Nothing! " Paige shrugged.

Slam.

Paige got out of the car and looked at her home. At her neighborhood. At the overgrown bushes at the front, the porch with the rocky chair her dad made. The white fence with the paint peeling. The upstairs windows. Kids and parents outside their houses, playing in the grass. She was home.

She opened the door and instantly she was hit with the smell of steak. Her dad was the cook, and he was making her favorite. The sun was still up, but Paige guessed he just wanted a head start. She took a look at her small house. It was tall, but small. You instantly walk into the dining room which had yellow plates set out. To the right was the living room, which had a white carpet littered with Baby toys in front of the T.V. The couch was white, too, with blankets and pillows. To the left was the big kitchen, and past the dining room was the stairs. The house had very big windows, at least.

Paige slipped off her shoes and couldn't help but give a big grin.

" So, how's school? " Paige and Ross had just finished setting the table moments ago and now her father was serving the steak. " Hm? Oh... uh.. it's pretty-" Dangerous. Mysterious. Scary. "Different. She didn't feel the need to get into any details. Paige began to cut into her steak as her father nodded.

"And hows the werewolf problem? Do they handle your... condition.... well?" Clang! Paige dropped her fork and so did her mother. " Steve!" Her father held up his hands. "What? " Ross glanced at Paige and shook his head. Jack, the baby, began to cry and Paige went to pick him up. She follower Ross out of the room. My dad thinks I'm a monster. Ross sat down and Paige set next to him, and he rested his arm around his little sister's shoulder as she held the baby. "There's nothing wrong with you. Paige nodded. Paige set Jack in his crib in the living room and Ross walked into the kitchen. Paige sat there.

" Sensitive... mumble mumble... not her fault.... Her parents talked quietly. Paige sighed. They were off to a great start.

"Ow" Paige inhaled sharply as she cut her finger on paper. She was sorting through some papers in her bedroom. She took a big look around. Her bed was covered with a pale yellow bedspread with white pillows. She had a few stuffed animals on her bed, but the one she walked over to was a worn-out bunny. It had lost its stuffing many times, but her mother had stitched it up each and every time. She usually had it with her every full moon.

She had fairy lights on her wall. She had a white fluffy carpet with mixtapes all over the floor. She had a bookshelf with very few books, and instead, trophies filled the shelves. Posters were on her walls. Basketball teams and baseball teams. It's been so long. She's been gone, her brother has been safe. Her dad thought she was a monster, and her mom only said it wasn't her fault. Not that she wasn't one. Paige could feel her anger boiling up. She pulled at the posters on her wall and kicked her book shelf, sending books flying across the room.
She picked up a trophie and was in mid throw when she heard it.
"Honey?" Paige looked up as she heard a knock. " WHAT?

"Honey, is everything alright?" Paige brought down her trophy. "Oh, no. Everything is just swell" She said bitterly, as she pushed her bookshelf back up and began to place the books on the shelves. "I don't like that tone, Paige. Paige spun around. "What, so you want me to be all happy and dancing and acting like everything is fine when it's not?! Nothing is fine, mom! Nothing!" Her mom stood silently. "And I have to hold this all and all you will do is treat me like one of your patients!" She held out her hands. "I'm your daughter, mom. I don't need a therapist, I need a mom. And I get that you're disappointed. Having a monster as a child, with a condition. " Paige's mom shook her head. "Oh, no. Honey, no! I am not disappointed, I am proud. You are the strongest and best daughter I could ask for. You do hold this in, but you come out every day with a smile. And you're not a monster, you're still you. You will always be you." Suddenly Paige embraced her mom with a huge hug. " Come on, your dad bought figgy pudding
