@Calypso Starling Ty! ^^
@Lillian Davis Wow . . . . that was so good! I liked the rhythm and the use of questions, like Calypso said. Also, the stanza Do you hear yourself, Anne?/Do you hear your song?/For there is much to be learned from its words is just amazing.

Words taken from 1984 by George Orwell
figure - window - flung - dead - overwhelmed - understand - issuing - story -
(sorry, this one is also pretty dark, but I accidentally chose eight really dark words, so I'm sorry)
Overwhelmed
I see you through the misty glass
fifty yards away,
a hundred years away,
lost, suspended in time,
a shadowy figure,
you move so fast
blink and I’d miss you
I miss you
I miss you already
though you’re not even gone
the story of your life beats its rhythm in my heart
spilling its final chapter into my soul
and I don’t understand
I can’t understand
why you choose to leave this way
but it’s happening
the bridge of a hundred years between us
yet only fifty yards
and a pane of glass
and I want to reach out
but I can’t
and it tears my soul apart
as you throw yourself at the window
our eyes meeting for the briefest of moments
and I can read the thousand terrors
issuing from your heart
I catch them in the palm of my hand
and hold tight,
hold tight as you fall,
a ballerina dancing on the wind,
and flung through the doors of time
and I hear those echoes in my mind
the echoes of the song of the dead
as you alight
on the crest of a distant wave
blink and I’d miss you,
I miss you.

Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise.

@Gabriella Haworth OMG. Your wording was beautiful and poetic and sososo strong! Everything about that piece was awesome. I loved the lines fifty yards away,/a hundred years away and blink and I’d miss you/I miss you/I miss you already and a ballerina dancing on the wind,/and flung through the doors of time

Book: Eight Pieces Of Silva by Patrice Lawrence
Words: some - even - know - could - I - starting - down - so
Some people say
That the winds howl
And steal your breath
And your mind
And even your soul

Some people say
That the winds know your secrets
And that anything
That you whisper to them
Is not safe

Some people say
That the winds could scream
So loudly that you
Could hear them from
A thousand miles away

Some people say
That they saw the winds
And they stole their hearts
And their souls
And left them wild

But I want to be wild
And free, like the winds
With their howls
And their secrets
And their screams

And if that means
Slowly starting to become
One of the winds myself
As some people say
Then I do not care

And if that means
Going down into the depths
Of the winds' valleys
As some people say
Then I do not care

And if that means
Going so far that
I would become a monster
As some people say
Then I do not care

Do you hear me?
I said
I do not care
Not entirely sure what this is to be honest but I think I like it :)

@Ashley Coulson - Oh wow. This is so beautiful! I especially love the lines into a sky woven // with memories // and welded together // with stars. The picture it paints is amazing!
@Lillian Davis - Wow! The story that this shows is beautiful, and I love the repetition of do you hear and come on, listen for yourself - it really portrays a kind of yearning from the narrator for Anne to really see what she's missing.
@Gabriella Haworth - Wow! Again! xD aahhhh everyone's so goooddddd xD I really love the story in this poem, and the lines blink and I'd miss you // I miss you. I mean, wow. This is heartbreaking.

@Lucia Fox Woah. That. Was. Amazing. The way you almost personified wind was so beautiful and breathtaking, and the repetition of I do not care was awesome. The last stanza was especially great - Do you hear me?/I said/I do not care oh, and thanks for the feedback!

@Aurora Ranvier no rush! :)

Feeling ❖ Know ❖ All ❖ Goddesses ❖ Spoken ❖ Wiser ❖ Run ❖ Knelt
Circe by Madeline Miller
I’ve spoken a a thousand things
And known all there is to know.
Yet I’ve knelt at the feet of wiser goddesses
And run from feeling too.
All my life I thought I was right
And I was, except for one:
I’m not on my own
I’m pieces of the cosmos,
Living as a human for a while.
This one isn't really my best work  but oh well. All of yours are fantastic!
