Tory watched as Gia’s head turned to Gabriella, and then Gabriellas turned towards Gia’s, there were a few whispers exchanges of some sorts, and then both turned back towards her. "Williamson, I'm going to give you a choice. Either you stay, and ruin the day of this girl you don't even know, or you leave, and maybe I'll forget today ever happened." Gabriella said, and Tory stayed silent.

Was she really making the right decision to stay? Or was it the wrong decision to leave? The young Gryffindor wasn’t a terrorist of the school. Gia was innocent, (actually, being friends with Haworth is a massive crime- Tory thought, but that wasn’t really important) Hadn’t Tory’s mother told her to not be that one person? That person who just went around ruining peoples days for no reasons whatsoever? She would take any chance to ruin Haworth’s day, but would she go so far to ruin another person’s day, to?

Finally, after a good minute or so of thinking, Tory clearly, loudly, said “I’m not going anywhere, but you better skedaddle-” She paused and motioned her head to Gia standing beside Gabriella, “-and if you wanna stay, then go ahead, but you can’t blame me for ruining your day...” Tory finished, moving a few steps closer to Haworth and her little ‘friend’. She smirked a smirk of evilness mixed with determination, and crossed her arms over her chest in triumph. It was obvious, really obvious, that there was no chance of Tory moving. Nada. Zip. Zero.

Was she being the bad guy right now? Yes, and Tory knew that. Did she care much-? No, not at all. Other than rude remarks and snarky comments, she wasn’t really tormenting anybody badly (not like she ever would, she was much too nice for that). And plus, what was the point of having an enemy if you didn’t push their buttons every once in a while...right?

Gia could feel Tory's eyes on her and Gabby as the two talked quietly to each other about what they should do, but it didn't seem like the other Gryffindor could hear what they were saying. That was good, at least, wasn't it? When Gabby finally made up her mind on what their plan was, she turned to Tory and gave her some options. Then, before the other first year had finished deciding, the Ravenclaw turned to Gia and told her to leave if Tory stayed.

After a couple seconds of hesitation, the eleven - almost twelve! - year old nodded somewhat reluctantly. It wasn't very characteristic of her to back down from an argument or something else similar to one, but. . . it was her best friend's birthday, and if she was being honest with herself, she knew it wasn't her fight. "'Kay," she agreed. Looking back at Tory, the first year realized that the other girl wasn't going to want to back down either, which meant that she was most definitely going to have to leave the party much earlier than she'd expected.

Only seconds after she'd come to this conclusion, Tory declared that she was staying, and that she, Gia, should leave if she didn't want her day to be ruined. The brunette rolled her eyes at the smirk that appeared on the girl's face once she'd finished talking, and she wanted so badly to stay and see what happened next, but she knew that it wouldn't be a smart move. Glancing over at Gabriella, Gia gave her a small smile that almost seemed to say good luck. Then, with another frown at Tory, the eleven year old opened her mouth and spoke once more before she left completely.

"You're really doing it, then? First you decided to crash Gabby's birthday party, then you decided to ruin it completely? Wow." It wasn't much, but it was enough for now. Turning around, Gia began walking back towards the castle doors. When she passed close enough to Gabby for her to hear her, the Gryffindor whispered another quick "happy birthday." Then, pausing slightly, she added, "Let's meet up another time to finish all the cake, alright?"

After giving the Ravenclaw a slightly teasing smile, Gia quickened her pace until she was back on the path that she'd walked there on. Hopefully Tory would leave soon as well, and her and Gabby could talk about when to meet up again. It wasn't fair for her friend's birthday party to end so abruptly. Still, it had. As she stepped back into the castle, the wheels in her head began spinning and Gia started planning another meeting with Gabby where they could actually celebrate her friend's birthday. . .

Gabriella stared despairingly after Gia as she disappeared off. It was selfish of her, she knew, to wish Gia would stay, but she felt she needed the moral support. Well, I suppose I brought that one upon myself, Gabby berated herself. After all, I was the one who told her to go. Anyway, how could I ask her to stay? She doesn't deserve to stick around for this!

Gabriella turned round and faced Tory. Emnity. Why did it have to exist - and furthermore, why did it have to be a thing that plagued her life in particular? Having an enemy sounded like something that might happen among the Slytherins - not that Gabby meant to stereotype by house - but not her, not the calm, peaceful, fun-loving Ravenclaw that she was. The two facts jarred against each other; a person like her should not be in a relationship like this. Yet that was what was going on all around Gabriella, she had somehow found herself in a relationship like this, in which two parties hated each other for no reason other than pure malice. If only her mother knew... She pushed the thought from her mind. Her mother was not here; her mother did not need to know. In fact, Gabriella had already configured a lie for when her family did, inevitably, find out about Tory. This, too, had disconcerted her; the Ravenclaw was honest and not one to lie. She blamed it on Tory and moved on.

All this had gone through Gabby's mind before, and all of it went through her mind again in this moment, although in reality it only took a couple of moments to think. "Williamson," she said, in a low voice. It was all she could do to hope she sounded intimidating. Either way, she certainly looked the part - at 5'4", she towered above her young nemesis. She narrowed her eyes. "The question does arise of how sick someone must be to mess up a person's birthday and completely ruin their best friend's day, too." Strong opener? No. Opener? Yes. And that was enough.

Tension hung in the air for a few moments as Gabriella realised she had possibly just insulted Tory quite deeply - sick, she had called her, mentally sick, that meant, and it couldn't be nice to hear. However much she hated Williamson, she didn't want to start using mental illnesses as insults. She glanced down at the floor, at the birthday tea party laid so grandly out on the mossy floor. "Want a cake?" she asked, raising an eyebrow sarcastically. "Plenty to go around... and after all, that seems to amuse you."

"The question does arise of how sick someone must be to mess up a person's birthday and completely ruin their best friend's day, too." The (very) cold February air seemed to slap Tory in the face as Haworth said this, and it was almost as if the entire world was ganging up on her for being mean for no reason whatsoever. Intead of snapping something snarky with a sly smile wow alliteration back to Haworth, Tory just stayed silent, contemplating her lifes decisions from the last 20 minutes.

I mean, sure, it was certain that it was fun to annoy Haworth, but was it worth crashing her whole birthday celebration just to dig under her skin a little? Probably not. And it never would be, in all truth. Oh well Thought Tory to herself , I'm here now and I'd be considered a chicken if I ran away, so might as well just stay longer, why don't I? . With that, she looked up to the sky, down to her feet, and made direct eye contact with Haworth. On second thought.. She thought, She did call me sick, which I personally take no offense to, I mean like call me whatever you want bastard, but I know she's too nice to say that unless she's really mad, or something...and I don't wanna start a fight-

Her thought train was interrupted by Haworth's annoying voice. "Want a cake?" She asked, her facial expression covered in sarcasm. "Plenty to go around... and after all, that seems to amuse you." Tory knew Haworth was not being serious, but she closed her eyes, and, her voice surprisingly quiet and nonchalant, almost too calm, said, "Yes, I would.". With that, she opened her eyes, walked closer to the food, and plopped herself next to a beautifully frosted chocolate cake. She then ran her finger along the top of the cake because she knew it was terribly irritating to see such a perfect cake being ruined, licked it clean, said nothing, and then reached for a randomly lying about fork, dipped it into the cake, and took a large bite as if she did this everyday. "If your trying to poison me," Tory said through the load of cake in her mouth, "It's clearly not working."

Surprisingly, Williamson said yes to Gabriella's offer of a cake. This actually annoyed the Ravenclaw a bit, as she had really hoped her sarcastic tone would get under her enemy's skin - but evidently not, she thought with a sigh, watching as Williamson callously trailed her finger around the edge of the icing. Clever, thought Gabby, irritated. She's using my trick against me. Backstabber, she added, even though it was exactly what she herself would have done - and it wasn't really backstabbing at all, because there had been no mutual contract decided upon.

Mutual contract decided upon? Gabriella scoffed; she knew it was weird for an eleven - no, twelve-year-old to be thinking that, but these long-winded professional expressions were part of her personality and she sort of liked it, actually. Her English teacher mother would be proud.

Sulkily - although trying to be casual about her displeasure - Gabriella watched as her enemy spooned cake into her mouth. This cake was supposed to be shared with Gia, and we were gonna have an amazing time, thought the Ravenclaw, crossly. Instead I have to share it with this backstabbing female dog. She dared not say the word 'bitch', even in her head. "If you're trying to poison me," said Tory, "it's clearly not working." Gabriella narrowed her eyes sarcastically.
"Of course I'm not trying to poison you," she scoffed. "I might detest you, but that doesn't mean I want to kill you. All that going to court and having a trial and stuff, it's just not worth it. In fact, it's my party, I might have some." With that, she plonked herself down on the grass and began eating from the other side of the cake.

Anyone watching, Gabriella realised, would get rather the wrong impression of what was going on between her and Tory, and if nobody saw them and thought they were lovers, they'd definitely think they were friends, and quite good friends, at that. The kind of friend Gia is, thought Gabriella. For a while, this didn't bother her - there were few people around, after all, and what did she care if she thought the two were friends? But the more she watched Tory dig into the cake, that satisfied smirk on her face, the more Gabriella knew she could never even pretend to be her friend, never even seem like it to a passer-by - and she was sure what she had to do.

She stood up, and - with no warning at all - kicked the cake, aiming right for Tory's face. [Tory can decide whether the cake hits her or not.] As soon as she had done it, she stepped back in shock. She had done it completely on impulse. What the hell had she done? That was a nice cake, she thought sullenly to herself. But it was an attack on Tory Williamson, and that justified it somewhat.

"Shame," she said, snarkily. "I think I'll leave you to clear up."

Gabriella picked up her belongings - and one or two of the small cakes, because she liked cake felt bad, and made her triumphant way back up to the castle. Not quite the birthday party she had been anticipating, for sure, but at least she had given herself the last word.

The moment had seemed to go in slow-motion. Haworth kicked the cake, Tory snickering under her breath, thinking it would miss her. Well, it didn't. It had hit her square in the face, and the second it did, a wave of regret washed over her. Her mean smile fell into a frown as she processed what had happened. She didn't believe in karma most of the time. But apparently it was real, because now she was sitting all alone on a blanket with a cake splat across her face with a whole setup to clean herself. What had gone wrong? She had come over here with the mere intention to ruin Haworth and Gia's days, not go this far. Why had she done this out of pure spite?

In all honesty, the Gryffindor enjoyed being a jerk. It sounded horrible, and she knew that, but seeing none other than her enemy upset gave her a rush of satisfaction and confidence. Of course she wasn't so mean she was going to go around the castle being rude to random people for no reason, though. With her finger, she wiped the thick, chocolate frosting and cake off of her eyelids so she could actually see. Sighing, she picked up the remains of the cake and smashed them into her forehead. She deserved it. She liked being a jerk, but should she be one anyways? No. She was nice, right? Not totally evil and cruel? She tried to reassure herself of her kindness, how friendly she was.

She would admit she liked being a jerk, but she didn't admire that about herself. Tory just didn't want to be disapproved of. And mean people were very disapproved of. Sighing deeply again, she started to tidy up around her, cake still smeared around her face. Multiple people passing by gave her weird glances. Aw, poor them. It looks like the horrible sight of my cake-covered face has disrupted their perfectly good days. I feel so bad. She thought to herself, the little voice inside of her head sarcastic sounding. She tried to clean up her own mess quickly, the faster she was done the faster she could get back into the castle and tidy up herself.

Having finished after 15 minutes or so, she began the walk back to the castle, keeping her head low. She was ashamed of liking to be a jerk.

Taking a deep breath, the memories of the last 45 minutes played in her mind as she stepped foot in the building. The kicking of the cake, the mean comments, her new negative acquaintance.

It had been an eventful afternoon, to say the bare minimum.
