This had to be by far the most interesting Gryffindor the third-year had ran across in all her years here. She couldn't recall the last time something like this happened but usually, it took a lot to unleash her wrath and at that moment, Everly was well on her way to finding out what happened when she really got amped up as if the Gryffindor was not already. A sarcastic laugh slipped from her mouth at Everly's suggestion suppressing the urge to just fling anything else that was within grabbing distance, the temptation however was very strong though. "You make it sound so easy, you have no idea how long I have been working on that, it's not as easy as picking up a brand new piece of parchment and scribbling away." There was a process to it, research, the right words, a methodical approach that the girl in front of her had just absolutely shattered with her words and that, Elena thought would have been an achievment if she didn't have rocks for brains.

It didn't stop there however as the words just kept coming and the Gryffindor stood there silently, her eyebrow raised wondering how much longer she would have to endure this pointless rabble. "Are you done? Now, you're just reaching for anything you think might hurt and frankly, it's quite embarassing to watch so do yourself a favor and stop." It was always the first years, the younger kids, that was the other thing that surprised her. Usually, new arrivals to the castle were nervous, hesitant because after all, Hogwarts was a whole new experience and they were not sure what to expect, you didn't go around lighting a fire you didn't know how to put but Everly seemed to have done just that. Well, at least she had that Gryffindor spirit in her but it was not serving her very well right now.

This was beginning to hurt her head and as much as Elena had confirmed in her head she would want nothing more than to send a handy jinx Everly's way, the brunette was also not stupid. She wasn't one to go out of her way just to bulldoze all over someone because of a few choice words but the girl was certainly beginning to push all the wrong buttons as the Gryffindor took in a deep breath before exhaling. Right, just a foolish first year, no one important. So, why, pray tell was she getting so worked up over this? There was just something about Everly, Elena didn't know what it was but it sent her the wrong message. "I know how to be civillized, thank you very much." The girl snapped back coldly bristling a bit at the remark.

That had struck a nerve, the audacity of her bringing up the suggestion she needed to rethink her behavior. Elena was a Jangleton, one of the more proud wizarding families to ever grace London's soil and while they might not be one of the happiest or the best, they certainly had one thing in spades and that was social etiquette and standing. Everly didn't need to know that though as the girl decided to fire back with some choice words of her own. "That's if you can find your way back. Careful you don't get lost or something, that would be a shame." That was what Everly needed more than any sort of books on how to behave yourself, she first needed to figure out how this school worked in a whole lot of ways. "Instead of telling me what I need, focus on yourself. Otherwise, you'll go around making a whole lot more enemies than you can count on both your hands."

Really, what was with people and picking fights with each other?

Everly stared at Elena for a long time, with a sort of accusing look. Confused, yes, but also, what was even going on in her mind? "That's why," she said, as if speaking any slower would help it actually enter the Gryffindor's brain, "You use as much time," long breath of intense staring, "as you can," another long breath, "to make it as good as it was before!" She grinned. "In fact, I would believe that a tiny ink splat wouldn't be enough to make the entire paper die, so you could even look at what you had before! Or, what's left of what you had before."

Elena continued to stand there, with one raised eyebrow, looking quite ridiculous, if you asked Everly. It didn't look snotty enough to be worthy of her. Continuing to ignore Elena's jab at Everly's innocence, she continued with a small shrug. "It's sort of fun to see the way your face goes -" Everly made a little demonstration "- when I start spewing off random stuff. Especially because I've never done something like this! You know, I have a question. Why do people use the word frankly? I'd feel bad if your name was Frank, frankly."

Everly knew very well what Elena was thinking. Or, at least as close as she thought. Besides, she'd wasted a lot of time with.. whatever this was, but her stubbornness refused to leave so soon. A little grin appeared when she saw that she had FINALLY gotten under the third year's skin appeared on her face, but it quickly disappeared when Everly remembered she had to be subtle. Like.. like a... like a super cool spy. Or something.

Everly completely missed the insult in Elena's next words. "Don't worry!" She said cheerfully. "I'm sure someone else can help direct me. After all, since you love my company so much. And don't worry about that either! It's not like I'm trying. Though some people are more annoying than others." With one final, little smirk-smile, Everly skipped away. "Good luck on your essay!" She called back towards Elena, with a wave.
