Group B: Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff
Banner by Lucia Fox
In those moments Maria had clearly fallen out of favor with the fates. The jet of magic intended to attack her opponent backfired from the back of her wand and hit her in the chest instead. Said mishap threw her back and did quite the amount of damage on the Hufflepuff. To add to the frustration she saw Katrina healed herself once again and looked good as new. She was treading on thin ice now, one wrong move and this would all end pretty quickly.
@Katrina Walker
Tryna solve a problem like Maria.

Damage: 100 + (6 × 10) = 160 damage to selfEmerald stars fading from Katrina's vision, Maria regaining a solid stance, the witches prepared to face the finale of their duel. A pattern repeated: the Gryffindor cast a fiery Incendio Duo, sending a trusty blazing ball spiraling across the stage. The Hufflepuff, gathering her strength, wove out of its way and raised her wand. She readied yet another Flipendo. As before, the blast did not go in its intended direction. Instead, it backfired with enough force to knock Maria off of her feet. She collapsed upon the piste, showing no signs of rising this time. The mesmerized referee snapped from his spellbound spectating, and after a beat, Pericles barked a particularly loud and clear "Ceasefire!" Sprinting to the side of the stage, the moderator nimbly leapt and took a knee, ensuring Maria really was out cold. A nod to the older (NPC) assistants announced that it was time to carry the extraordinarily evasive Hufflepuff up to the infirmary with her partner. Rising to a stand, Pericles extended an arm for a grand gesture towards Katrina, calling to the crowd: "Despite their impressive duelling, Hufflepuff's Maria Dee and Autumn Ivy have been defeated. Katrina Walker and Calanthe Choi have earned a victory for Gryffindor!"GRYFFINDOR IS VICTORIOUSConclusion

This match has ended. Gryffindor is the victor, though congratulations are owed to both houses for a spectacular fight. I think we had the most rounds this stage! You're all welcome to make exit posts (50 words minimum), though that isn't mandatory.
I also wanted to thank you four for your patience with me as I moderated my first match. I'm looking for feedback from my duellists, and really, feel free to nitpick. Were the referee posts too long? Too short? Was anything described, coded, or written in a way you didn't enjoy? Please owl or DM me on Discord if so, you can even submit feedback to one of your captains and have them forward it to me instead. Thank you all for doing your best and sticking with this, I had an excellent time moderating for you and hope you all enjoyed it too! - Cheers, Peri

Group B: Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff
Although she was freed from the grips of the Curse of the Bogies, Katrina realized a good deal of her weariness that she had blamed the curse for weren’t from the curse after all. She was really tired. Keeping the high pace adrenaline sustained for so long was immensely draining and Katrina realized how hard it was to continue to preform her best. But at this point, she simply couldn’t afford to loose.
Katrina cast the fire spell once more, leaning on the spell she trusted the most. Maria somehow managed to dodge it yet again. Maria’s retaliation was in the form of a Knockback Jinx, at least, she had intended it that way. Instead, the spell backfired on her once more, she flew back and hit the floor limply.
Katrina stood in stunned silence. Maria didn’t get back up. The moderator, who Katrina just now realized was Pericles, called the ceasefire. Some older assistants carried out Maria’s unconscious body. Katrina numbly turned toward the crowd, plastering on her face some sort of look of pride. Katrina exited and made a beeline for the infirmary, she needed to make sure her dueling partner was alright.
Thank you for the great duel!
