Hey there Gia, what a welcome surprise to get your letter. I too think it would be a good idea for the first few letters to be “Get to know each other” letters. So fear not your work shall not be in vain!! I look forward to getting to know you!
I absolutely love flying, it’s a great feeling just racing across the sky (It also helps that I want to make the Quidditch team) But yea I shall introduce myself.
My name Is Jay Flame as you already know, I’m a first year hufflepuff. My mother is a witch and my father a wizard, so magic is no stranger to me. But somehow I still find something to be amazed about here in Hogwarts (I love this place) But yea as mentioned Flying is by far my favorite class, I hope to one day become a seeker or a keeper.
To answer your “Random” question I think that to witches and wizards they are the normal. And Muggles are abnormal? not that I mind either of course.
Anyway my second favorite class is History of magic to learn where it all began, and what has happend. Just a fantastic topic.
that's was all I had for now.

All my school work just piled up and stuff, so I had to rush to get all my assignments done and hand them in on time. I know that kind of sounds like an excuse, but it's not.
I want to make the Quidditch team for my house too! I signed up a while back, but they put me on the wait list because they already had all the players they needed for the team. What position do you want to play? Oh wait nevermind, you already said haha. I really, really, REALLY want to be a seeker too! Keeper is cool, and being a chaser would be alright too, I guess, but there were sooo many others who had already asked to be one, so the line was a whole lot longer than the line for the seeker position. My best friend is on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team, though, and it's super fun to watch her play.
Sorry for how long I was talking about Quidditch, I could probably talk about it for hours. I mean, even though it's almost the end of the school year (well, kind of at least), I still find it so crazy that wizards have a sport that they play on brooms! And flying brooms, nonetheless! I guess that's partly because I'm muggle-born. And yeah, true, I suppose we are the normal ones in this world, so it isn't really fair to call either one the "normal" species. (Species? Is that what you call wizards and muggles?)
History of Magic class is alright, I guess. I was more interested in it waaaay back at the beginning of the school year for the same reasons you just said - it was super interesting to learn about wizarding history. Now though, it's not my favorite. . . sorry if that's offending to you, I don't mean for it to be. It's hard to express things over letter in the way you mean them Anyway.
I know this whole thing is quill pals and such, but do you want to meet in person some time? That'd be fun. Maybe not right away, but after we get to know each other a bit more? Also, what do you look like? I have straight brown hair and green eyes, and. . . wow it's hard to describe yourself well, huh? Like, there are tons of other people who have brown hair and green eyes. Oh well. You'll see what I look like if we ever meet in person sometime, I guess. Still, maybe you can do a better job of telling me what you look like over letter than I did telling you. Oh, I have to go - dinner is starting soon. I can't wait to get your next letter!
