You've Got Mail! Finished

Unlike most of the other rooms in the castle, the Owlery was rather uninviting. Very few people would choose to come up here unless they had something to do. After hurrying up to the room, Justin – who was now heartily tired of all the winding stairs in the castle – sat down and started to write. This was a bad idea, now that he came to think of it. Why don’t people just write in the comfort of their dorm? After all, it’s not like there wasn’t a choice. He sat down and started to write. ‘Dear …’. Who should he write to? His parents? It’s not like they really expected a letter from him. This would have been the ‘right’ thing to do, but he decided against it.

‘Dear Theo,’ he began, and then thought better of it. Was it a good idea to send an owl to a Muggle? He would just have to wait till the holidays and send a letter by normal post. Or better, just meet him. Eventually, he decided to write to his brother.

After signing the letter, just as he was about to send it, a large screech owl flew in through one of the windows. It dropped right next to him. A letter? Why would anyone write to him? There were plenty of people who’d written to him before, but none of them, so far as he knew, used owls. He untied the letter. It had no name on the envelope and had a large, red seal on it. He’d never seen that particular emblem before. Now burning with curiosity, he quickly sent his letter, and rushed down to his dorm.
