Aside from warm summer days Rebekah loved crisp fall afternoons just as much. There was something about the smell of the air and crunch of leaves underfoot that was satisfyingly peaceful. Even if she couldn't bring herself to sit still for long... Today however, she was on a mission to get ahead on some homework. At least she was going to make an attempt, how successful she was going to be well, that was another story. Sprawled under the large tree in the courtyard, Bex rolled her head from side to side trying to stay awake as her eyes traced the pages of a charms book. She wasn't sure what she had expected coming to Hogwarts from a public school but the classes were vastly different in many ways than just the subject matter. Learning spells required so much more time and energy than Bekah could muster some days. Patience was certainly not one of her key traits so staying on task and practicing often was troublesome.

Letting out a sigh, she stretched her shoulders back and adjusted the book in her lap. Muttering under her breath, Bex eyed the images of wand movements and tried to mimic the wrist movements best she could. Every so often she would look up at people passing by and become distracted by their conversations or wondering what was going to be served that evening for dinner.

Laura was walking around the courtyard not really doing anything, but looking for a tree to climb. Laura loved climbing trees, but ever since one of her new pet bunnies died she has been really down. She finally found a decent tree to climb but there was no place to sit in it, she slid onto the roots of the tree and sat down this tree was actually very comfortable. She muttered to herself "I need to move on, but I can't. ARGH!" sometimes she was quite annoyed with herself as if it was her fault, but she didn't really know what to do. "I'll do my hair" she said happily she often did her hair if she was sad it was a great distraction. "I'll do 2 French Plaits" and she began. 15 minutes later she had finished and was gently placing the last elastic band around the end. She got up carefully and grabbed a mirror from her backpack, it was a small circular one she admired her hair for 3.5 minutes and then put it back in her backpack. She then saw a girl muttering incantations Laura was to afraid to go up to the girl. Finally, she got the courage and went up to the girl she said:
"I'm Laura" she began nervously "Who are you?" and she waited for the girl to reply.

Working her lips from side to side as Bekah concentrated on the text in front of her, she let out a small huff through her nostrils before giving up. Maybe she could take a snack break? She did have some extra sweets in the dorms... Just as she was about to throw in the towel however a girl greeted her. Bex took a quick look behind her to make sure Laura was referring to her before answering, "I'm Bekah." She blinked up at the girl, unfamiliar to Rebekah though perhaps they shared some classes together? In all honestly, Bex had been trying to just get a handle on remembering her classes and where everything was in the castle that she hadn't been able to memorize any faces yet. Squinting for a moment as she studied the girl's face a small moment in Charms class came to mind. Oh! "I think I sit near you in Charms? Sorry, everything is so different from what I'm used to." She didn't feel too awful if she was thinking of someone else. There were way more students at Hogwarts than she was used to. "Have you done this weeks homework?" She lifted the book up from her lap slightly in reference before sighing. "And to think I used to complain about Maths..." Muggle school really had nothing on Magical school when it came to the amount of effort being put into her courses. Though... Maths was a close runner up to Transfiguration and the struggles Bex had there. A small shudder ran through the girl's shoulders.
