Down the the final few birds whose wings still were flapping, the team elected to not send anyone after the quaffle. However, these birds were not stupid. True to their house trait of wisdom, their captains had the insight to realize that the Lions were not going to go easy and would try to get some more points. Bloom was waiting. Friendly competition might have taken place between the three, well four, players in red, however Alan continued to prove his skill in grabbing the quaffle. Unfortunately that is where his skill ended during this round. Might it be due to exhaustion, arrogance, or sheer bad luck, Alan's best attempts were stopped every time by Bloom. The birds might be down to their last few players, but that did not mean Bloom was willing to give up any easy goals.

"Bloom has shut out Gryffindor for all three attempts! What a show of skill by both players," the announcer shouted.

Roll Order (based on 1d100)
Gris: 1d100 = 91
Scarlett: 1d100 = 23

Gris attempts to bludger Cecily
Gris is fearless and is not affected by terrible presence.
Gris' roll for calming presence: 1d100 = 26. Proceed with attack: 1d20+12 = 16+12 = 28.
Cecily evasion: d20+11 = 11+11 = 22. Does not dodge!
Cecily take 11x75 = 825 damage. Cecilys remaining HP: 1000-825 = 175 HP remaining.

Scarlett attempt to backbeat Lavina/River.
Scarlett is fearless and is not affected by terrible presence.
Scarletts roll for calming presence: 1d100 = 90. She is not assisted.
Scarlett attempts to bludger Cecily: 1d20+12 = 17+12 = 29
Cecily attempts to dodge: 1d20+11 = 1+11 = 12. Cecily does not dodge. Roll for damage: 8x50 =400.
Cecily takes 400 HP damage: 175-400 = -228 HP. Cecily falls off the broom.
Cecily was saved by Henry and they are sharing a broom.

Scarletts broom effect = bludger ricochet upon successful hit
Gabriella was targeted per Scarlett's post.
Attack roll = 1d20+7 = 8+7 = 15
Gabriellaattempt to evade = 1d20+4 = 11+4 = 15. Gabriella was hit, but as the rolls were a tie, damage will be 1/2 normal.
Roll for damage: 8x75x0.5 = 300 HP damage
Gabriella takes 300 HP damage: 800-300 = 500HP.Gabriella remains on her broom.
The power couple of Gris and Scarlett would not end this round. Gris saw her chance, hitting the bludger with all her force at Cecily. Like may of the other birds, she did not see it coming. Somehow this bird would not fall at this time though, holding tight to her broom. As per their modus operandi, Scarlett was not close behind in her attack, sent straight for Cecily as well. The girl was not so lucky this time. As the second bludger hit her before he had a chance to recover from the first attack, the girl began falling off her broom to the ground. Was this game to end in a pile of blue birds with wings broken? Alas, it was not her time. Henry raced in, catching his captain.

Gabriella was the unfortunate victim of a ricocheting bludger, but this would not be enough to knock her down.

No math for this round, as both seekers were doing other moves shown in other sections.

What were both seekers thinking? Sharing a broom, Rafalynn chose to go for quaffle grabs during this round rather than attempt a snitch catch to end the game. Perhaps they enjoyed seeing the misery of the birds falling to the ground. Just like Lions to antagonize their meal.

Henry had catching up to do if he wanted to get the snitch before the Lions were able to grab it, but that meant he had to spot it first. Despite this, he just sat there waiting until he spotted Cecily falling from the sky. Racing to save her, he had a ploy up his sleeve, but would it pay off?

Reducio

Snitch DC: 15+4+2 = 21
Cecily spot attempt: d20+11 = 3+11 = 14. Cecily does not see the snitch to attempt to catch.

Cecily was prepared to do whatever it took to win this game, and if that meant cheating, so be it. She knew Henry had not yet spotted the snitch, but she had been on the field for a while now. She might have spotted a gold glint hoping she could find the snitch, try to catch it, and bring it to Henry for the win. She raced off towards what she thought was the snitch, but it turns out what she saw wasn't the snitch, but rather the glint off some gold item that someone on the other side of the pitch in the stands had.

Despite her best efforts, she had failed and maybe during her moment to plot for the next best move, she was blinded by the incoming attacks from the Gryffindor beaters. Hit twice, she stood no chance. Her fate might be to join her fellow teammates who had played valiantly on the grass. Falling to the ground, she could only hope that someone might save her. It was then that she felt something solid beneath her, and there was no pain of the impact with the ground. Sharing a broom with Henry, it is unfortunate she was unable to steal the snitch away from under everyone elses nose. What a perfect chance she would have had to pass it on to her seeker.

Bloom blocks all goal attempts from Alan.
Pierre was not needed to save.
Gris bludgered Cecily, bringing her health to 175HP.
Scarlett backbeat Cecily, knocking her off the broom and the ricochet hit Gabriella, however she remained on her broom with 500 HP remaining.
Cecily attempted to snitchnip but failed. She was caught by Henry and is now sharing a broom with him.

The blonde's hair flew out behind her as she flew in formation with the other chasers plus Decipio. Alan was continuing to excel, managing to grab the leather Quaffle three times in a row. The Ravenclaw keeper prevented all three of his score attempts, but it was still a quite impressive bit of work on Alan's part.

A glance at the rest of her teammates was fairly encouraging. The fourth-year Ravenclaw chaser now shared a broom with their seeker, and it looked as though the Gryffindor beaters had managed to wreak a fair amount of havoc in the few seconds Ana had been focused on the Quaffle. Ana inhaled sharply before fully committing to the next part of the Lions' strategy.

Long story short, I survived

Hovering nearby, Piérre kept close tabs on the teams. Another hit and the final chaser on Ravenclaw went down, only to be caught by... the Seeker?

Tipping his head like a curious puppy, Piérre watched the two pairs of chasers and seekers. Rafalynn had decided to go for quaffle. Good thing Alan had gotten them all three times, though, even if he didn’t quite manage to make a goal. It was making Piérre’s non-existent blocking career much easier.

Piérre flitted over for only a second towards their orange-haired chaser, watching Rafalynn in case he needed to come zooming back. “Hey! You got it Alan! Next time!” Piérre cheered on his fellow Lion, pumping his fist in the air to affirm his words.

In a blink, he was gone again, tailing the red Seeker and Chaser duo. He still had a job to do. Perhaps a new job after this moment, but a job nonetheless.

Sighing sharply, Rafael took a quick moment to relieve himself of his frustrations, his eyes glued to the maroon leather ball circulating the pitch. Dammit, they’d missed all three shots to that Ravenclaw keeper – ah, well, losing a small battle never cost anyone the war. The Birds were still outmanned. If Gryffindor played their cards wisely and watched their opponents with a careful eye, surely the field would stay as such. Muttering something quickly to Evelynn, he turned his broom once more, picking up speed as he set his focus on his new mission.

Abilities:
INTERCEPTION
When a Quaffle is being passed, users with this ability automatically get a chance to Intercept the quaffle. This does not replace their normal action for the round. This put the quaffle in your and by extension you teams' possession.

Also, if the Quaffle is dropped for any reason, you would automatically (without it taking up an action) attempt another Quafflegrab. At present there would be no mid-round way to drop a quaffle due to the order of operations, however there will be certain effects in future patches that can cause this effect.

CATCH
Able to catch two falling players on your broom when playing Quidditch. These additional caught players would be brought to the ground safely and they would be allowed to retrieve their broom and enter play again the next round. This can be done every round as the player's action if they choose to do so.

With brooms that have the feature where an additional player may be caught (such as Bluebottle) where there is a stackable chance of failure with each additional person caught, there is no stacking failure chance for players with this ability.

Another one bites the dust, thought Scarlett, as her and Gris practically annihilated the pitch. They were like two lionesses on the hunt - for bird blood. Okay perhaps that image wasn't the nicest. But anyhow, their next attack had sent the blonde girl tumbling off her broom, only to be caught by Henry. Scarlett had met him in the stands one day, and had talked about his dream of playing for his team. It was now a reality, if not a slightly annoying one. Her Bludger bounced off to the other girl but didn't knock her off. Scarlett rolled her eyes, nodded at Gris encouragingly and zoomed off to whack more metal balls into her opponents.

Honestly, it was very surprising how amazing her and Scarlett's teamwork turned out throughout the entire game so far. Griseldis did expected for the worst and was mentally prepared if anything would happen during the game. However, both Gryffindor Beaters were killing it! For the first time, Griseldis felt extremely proud of herself as a Quidditch player. And of course, she was also very proud of her new and old teammates.

Then she felt slightly bad for the Eagles but on the Quidditch field, it was either win or lose. Griseldis witnessed Bloom did something unexpected and was super impressed when she saw how her childhood friend was able to skillfully blocked all three Quaffles. Able to block all three attempts was never an easy thing to do so she couldn't help but to respect Bloom for her wicked skills as a Keeper.

After another successful attack, their best Chaser was down. But she got saved by one of their remain teammates. The other Ravenclaw players also barely got knocked off from her broom right after getting hit by Scarlett's "surprise attack". It was obvious that at this point the Gryffindor team had higher morale than the Ravenclaw team with only a few remaining players on their brooms. The game is still not over yet, the threat is still there. Griseldis thought to herself with a serious expression on her face. Noticed that her Beater partner gave her a nod. She nodded back to her and both went off to continue their hunt.

Clenching her broomstick, Bloom was breathing in and out, scared of what may happen. It was always a strategy to attack one player from each team. It was why Aly was down so quickly. And even so, Bloom and a couple others went after one Gryffindor teammate. But the question came up in her head: when will it be her turn?

Levitating by the goal posts, she had a feeling that it was going to be this round. And unfortunately, she guessed right.

Come on, you can do it. Like in practice. Balls no go into hoops. she said to herself, being a tad bit silly in her mind to help lessen the fear.

It was then, something miraculous had happened. Bloom was able to block not one ball heading her way... Not two... But three balls. She blocked all of their attempts for a goal. Bloom's smile was from ear to ear, adrenaline pumping through her body. She looked around at her peers who seemed to be happy and even her opponents who could have felt defeated. Bloom couldn't help but to look at @Gris Edelhardt, her childhood friend that she just recently found out also plays Quidditch. She gave the Gryffindor a friendly, but competitive smile.

Bloom was ready for the next round, hopeful that the same luck will resume.

So, playing in a game was definitely not the same as watching it. Henry did his best to observe everything going on around him and do what he had been told to do, but this was more chaotic looking up close. Maybe he should see about switching from Seeker to Keeper. Being Seeker seemed more fun, but if it meant having to look for a snitch amid this chaos, maybe he would have preferred a more observational role.

Still, he was second string Seeker and their first string was out, so he had to play. As he watched the players, he noticed Cecily falling off her broom. They had already lost so many players, he didn’t know if they could handle losing more. Racing toward her, he managed to sweep her up just in time. “Are you alright?” He asked, hoping she was. Though he had always been able to find odds and ends, finding the snitch was a lot harder than he anticipated. Cecily had been searching for him. Perhaps she could still help him with that…. Whatever the plan was, Henry now had a little extra weight, so moving quickly was not going to be as easy.

Oh, for Merlin's sake. "LUcKiLy, she had yet to have the misfortune of being knocked from her own broom." Cecily mocked herself in her head. Clearly, she had spoken too soon. Probably even jinxed it, if she was being honest.

The bludgers crashed into her as she struggled to hold onto her broom. She could take a hit, she thought, but as the second iron ball made contact, sent flying directly towards her by the Lions, she was thrown straight off her broom.

Perhaps, she thought as she plummeted towards the ground, this was what she got for cheating. Karma, eh? What a bitch. Although, for consciously cheating, she supposed karma could do much worse. There were more terrible things that could occur than Cecily being thrown from her broom once during a quidditch match. Maybe there would be long term effects.

Or maybe-- her flailing arms caught a fistful of blue jersey as her fall suddenly ceased, -- it was to be her punishment to fall over and over again until there was no one left to save her.

It was a moment before she released the jersey, taking a deep breath. It was the young seeker, Henry, who had cut short her fall. "Hey, thanks for that," she said, breathless. At least her broom, her lovely Silver Arrow, was still intact. And two eyes were better than one, right? Perhaps, with the two Ravenclaws seeking as one, the snitch would fall right into their laps. That is, if the two weren't too busy falling themselves first.

"I'll probably be fine," she replied to the younger boy's inquiry. "Let's get that bloody snitch in your hand, then we'll talk."

Safely returned to her own broom. Right. Perhaps she was deluded to think that was actually going to happen. It was a special kind of Hell that had seen her fall and rescued by the last member on the team with whom she would have wanted to share a broom. Only wishful thinking could have had her believing that they would actually be able to cut through the chaos well enough for a swift return. Nope. Instead, Evelynn was stuck there, core temperature no doubt rising a fraction of a degree for every minute she was forced to keep her arms secured firmly around the boy in front of her. Nevermind bludgers. Her will to survive and win clashed loudly against her savage desire to shove the captain from his own broom just to recover the comfort of sufficient physical distance. If she didn't succumb to malaise from the heat of that internal battle, it might be a miracle.

Perhaps there was something to be said for that though. In a way, her mental struggle and the effort to contain any outward hint of her revulsion had her seeking a distraction to tide her over. Soon enough, she found herself being pulled forward. Evidently, D'Spacito had found a way to cut through the madness of the game by taking the opportunity to position themselves firmly within the quaffle game. She couldn't fault him for it, really. Putting them in the thick of a Hawkshead formation would afford them some measure of protection. More eyes on the lookout for bludgers, and more bodies to draw them away from an intended target. Or something like that. Plus doing so would assist the score some points.

"They're not coming after us..."

While the skeptical observation was not intended to be spoken to her broom companion, he might have been able to hear it before the wind tore it away. Realistically, Evelynn was just as unaware that she'd spoken aloud as she was that Gryffindor hadn't managed to take advantage of the lull of quaffle opposition despite excellent quaffle handling on the part of Vanes. Or that Silverton had just displayed an absolutely enviable level of skill and composure as she blocked quaffle after quaffle with little to no support. Instead of remaining forward, her head swiveled this way and that in search of incoming assaults and the movement of Ravenclaw's replacement seeker. But nothing had come. No bludger. No organized attack. Brows pinched suspiciously. Their pointed shift to exaggerated offensive had taken her off guard. Had they rescinded their new strategy already?

Well if they had, Gryffindor had not. Again and again, the crack of bats against ball would echo with foreboding as Edelhardt and Aden continued to prove their mettle. Like the sleek lionesses they were, they continued to dole out devastatingly coordinated attacks. As Quinn finally succumbed, hope rolled Evelynn's belly. "Stop stalling!" Evelynn chided, turning her attention back to D'Spacito. "If ever there was an opening, it's now. Get me back to my broom!"
