The library was not typically the place you would find Paige yet here she was. She figured she would mix up her schedule and maybe read something other than what she's forced to. But she did read the lyrics to songs but she was pretty sure that wouldn't count. "Make way for Paige." She quietly opened the door to the library and peeked inside. Ah, people! Reading! For fun! Gave her the chills. She remembered that she was supposed to be quiet so she walked slowly as to not disturb anyone.

She bumped into a table.

"Sorry!" She backed away and bumped into the shelf, startling herself. She turned at the book that she had knocked off.

Damphires... Huh. She flipped through it. Fangs... blood... monsters?
That sounds dangerous, that was her kind if thing. Frowning slightly, she sat in a chair and opened the book. Wait, so they go here? No one has been killed, right? "What's the deal?" She muttered.

This person makes them sound so bad and it was kind of... well... bull shit. Excuse Paige, but those were her thoughts on this. In fact, this made her angry. She wanted to do something. There was simply nothing wrong with damphires in her humble opinion. "Stupid..."
I would like maybe a damphire to join this and see that she's anything but against them.

Nico wasn't really much of a bookwurm, allthough she liked learning things. Broaden her horizon. In a school like this, it wasn't hard to find anything about anything. The Library was the centrum of most knowledge. Paper bundled up in leather covers. Or cardboard... Maybe cardboard. In the muggle world, those kind of books usually weathered real fast. It was a pitty. Thankfully in the wizard world, they seemed to have overcome that muggleworld error.

The redhead sighed and stretched before quietly walking in the Library. Lately, she usually came her during her patrols, making sure that no one was causing trouble. Girls pulling each others hair because one happened to topple over the others inkwell... Children truly are on edge at Hogwarts. The littlest thing makes them explode in anger, tackling the other like a bunch of rabid dogs.

A small smile tugged on her lips. It was calm today for a change. A very welcome change. As she casually walked around, her black mary janes tapping on the floor, Nico's iceblue eyes rested on a student holding a specific book. A chill ran down her spine. A fear that held her hand daily, creeped up to her neck. Like a wild animal feeling cornered.. No. She had to calm down. Not all students hated dhampirs. The catastrophe at the Great Hall had been a significant proof of that. It eased her nerves. Even if it was just a little.

However, if the opposite was true, that this girl was looking for more information about knowing how to hurt dhampirs, Nico felt she had to interfere. To educate them before things turned bad...

'Hello.' Nico smiled softly, her head slightly tilting to the side to look more approachable. Her strawberry red hair fell like waterfalls down over her shoulders. 'Looks like you're reading something interesting there.' The dhampir tried her best to not look intimidating but it was hard not to. Nico was incredibly pale, yet beautiful. Ethereal almost. Her iceblue eyes were decorated with a red batwing shaped eyeliner. On her cheeks there was a soft presence of blush. She almost looked like a doll. 'What do you think about dhampirs? They're pretty dangerous aren't they...'

She was testing her, but not that the Hufflepuff knew. Maybe she'd connect the dots sooner or later that Nico might fit the description of a dhampir, or maybe she wouldn't.

She was get more and more angry by the minute. First off, some people have conditions that make them get burned easily, that doesn't mean they're dsmshire so this isn't accurate, right? She bot her lip but jumped slightly as she heard someone say hello. She searched the room for just a moment before realizing it came from the girl before her. Paige blinked. This girl was picture perfect, a bit intimidating, to say.

She gave a slight nod. "interesting is one word for it, I suppose. Reading bout damphires. " She slightly closed the book, leaving her finger where she was, and showed it to the girl, searching her face. "Well, this book gave me some thoughts. Angry thoughts. About-" She closed her eyes and opened the book again and her eyes followed the words the best they could. Paige struggled with ELA but she tried. " - excuse me, I'm just super annoyed- about people like this author. What. An. Ass' Paige's hand shot up to her mouth. "I didn't mean to say that! But to say this stuff about damshires is outrageous! I understand freedom of speech but why? " She shook her head, deeply confused. "Who would do this?"

Nico blinked at the girl in slight surprise. It was clear to the dhampir that this Hufflepuff wans't out to hurt anyone. Maybe the author but not anyone different atleast. The redhead smiled softly and nodded. 'We do have some questionable authors here and there. I'm relieved to see that you feel the same. Recently someone wrote something in the Daily Prophet which was rather questionable aswell. We're not entirely sure why... But I'm sure that that wasn't their best move...' She sighed, her hand reaching for her elbow to gently grab hold of it.

This girl wasn't used to cussing. Not that that was a bad thing. Far of it, actually. It meant that there was still hope. Hope within the first years, the freshmen of Hogwarts. Nico only feared that things could go south for them real fast. Hogwarts had its own way of igniting trouble. It wasn't really because of enemies on the outside of the castle walls... but more of the ones who lived within those same walls.

'Some people just like to cause chaos. Pain. Their reasons are usually questionable, to say the least. But... I'm happy to see that you aren't one of those.' Nico bowed her head gently as a greeting towards the Hufflepuff. 'I'm Nico. A dhampir. A pleasure to meet you.'

There was no need to hide it. Students usually wouldn't know right of the bat that she was a dhampir but that was perfectly fine. Let them figure it out, she thought. If they hadn't by then, Nico would see to it that only at the right time they'd know what she was.

William was studying hard at a table in the library like he did most afternoons. He pushed a few strands of his brown hair out of his face while mumbling to himself, "I swear to God if you don't stop that I will cut you off." He of course was talking to his hair. He had a tendency to talk to random things when he was bored, including, but not limited to: his hair, his pen, his paper, the chair he was sitting on, the table, and much more. Most people told him it was a sign of something bad that he did that, but like most things, his ability to give a crap had run completely dry.

He groaned as he realized he was going to need another book again, slowly sliding up and leaving the paper on the table. He took a few steps before spinning around, placing the pen he was using on the table, and then turning around again to find the book. He turned towards one of the rows and heard in the next one over a girl say she was something called a dhampir. His curiosity picked up and he took a couple of steps back, completely forgetting about the book.

He walked towards the two girls, one seemingly much older then the other. They were both reasonably pretty, which did not help the situation at all, but William was starting to get use to having to talk to girls. He stood there for a couple of potentially awkward seconds before saying, "Uh, hi. I just heard one of you say something about a dafire was it?" He of course messed up the word and closed his eyes for a moment, mentally kicking himself for doing so. He opened them and asked, "So what is that?"

Paige bite her lip, and nodded with a slight frown set upon her face. yeah, I heard about that, too. The whole newspaper thing sure was something..." in all honesty, it made Paige worried. What if they targeted werewolves next? What would happen? Pain. Chaos.Something Paige knew too well. she sighed. Doesn't the world;d have enough pain and chaos already? I mean... I don't know..." The world was chaotic enough as it was, wasn't it?

She felt bad for the damphires, it wasn't their fault they were considered "different," or "dangerous." They didn't choose this...
Paige's eyes widened. Her heart skipped a beat. She glanced at the book she was reading, then back to the girl. Of course, why didn't she realize before? :I'm Paige... a- " She hesitated. -a werewolf She spun around. She could feel herself start to panic. Calm down... maybe he didn't hear you... She cleared her throat. " Damphires, me and Nico were talking about damphires. We both find them interesting, so we came to research. Well, she noticed my interest and came over, actually. Her voice was calm, but no one but Nico would know she was lying, She didn't want everyone knowing Nico was a dampshire, it wasn't fair.

'Chaotic is a word for it, yes.' Nico nodded soflty. It wouldn't have been weird for her dhampir confession to raise some brows. She had expected the girl to maybe look weird at her or to not believe her statement. That it might've been just a way to get attention from a random stranger... But the Hufflepuff only responded, what would seem, surprised. Baffled? Nico was slightly flustered by her reaction but also glad. The redhead managed to find a kind spirit in this hellhole of a school.

Paige. What a lovely name. For a moment she couldn't help but wonder why their parents gave her that name. Had it to do... with books? Maybe that was a little too obvious. What the dhampir didn't expect though was the confession that quickly followed after hers. 'W-werewolf?' She said softly, trying to process that information. Truth be told, she hadn't met many werewolfs in her school career so far. Did she ever meet one? She couldn't recall.

A boy had overheard them talking about the creatures that were often referred as, in slang, as bloodsuckers. The young Prefect had counted on only interacting with Paige but it seemed some ears found this topic interesting aswell.

Her iceblue hues rested on the boys face, carefully taking in his features. 'Yes. Dhampirs. The half-human, half-vampire kind. Are you familiar with them, at all?' It wasn't a snarky remark. Not everyone knew about dhampirs, as she had experienced first class before. she wanted to see if maybe, maybe he already had a view on the rather unpopular race.

William smiled at the two girls, he seriously felt like he was invading in the conversation. Maybe it was just him, but they both seemed to act quite strangely when he showed up. Truth be told he wouldn't blame them if they didn't want him there, judging by the sounds of these things he could imagine the uncomfortable dinner table or hallway conversations that could be held about them.

His features weren't anything special, he looked like a stereotype of some sort; his brown hair was a mess, his brown eyes had a dull but curious look in them, and he had a slightly athletic build. His uniform was also a slight mess too. It wasn't like he didn't respect it, its just he didn't understand it. The tie was a pain, the robes were impossible to keep straight, and his shoes weren't shined worth a crap.

He eyed Paige for a moment, not in suspicion, but in curiosity. He didn't exactly hear what the younger girl had said before, but he did hear something about a wolf. He came to the conclusion that she was talking about a werewolf, another one of the things he was always told was mythical, but are probably a normal Sunday visitor to the magic world. "Well, now I know one of your names. I'm William." He said with a slight grin on his face.

He shook his head and said to the one the first girl had called, Nico, "half Human..half Vampire..cool. No I don't think I've ever heard of those, but I bet they're pretty normal for you guys. Honestly, now I'm curious to though, just to learn a little bit more about them. My dad always said its better to ask questions from the source then to ask a second hand." He was genuine in his answer and hoped his curiosity didn't offend anyone.

Vivian Seoigh was gliding through the library as usual (well--not really 'as usual', actually. She usually avoided the library like a plague) when she heard voices up ahead. She wasn't sure exactly why she'd come here, even though she'd made the decision only a couple of minutes ago. In reality, Vivi was still holding onto the hope that there might be a gym in this castle, even if she had long ago given up on the possibility of there being some sort of beauty salon around anywhere. For goodness' sake, it was the twenty-first century--how could there not be a gym. It was the mark of her desperation that Vivi, who hated working out, was looking for one.
Anyway, one word in particular had her hurrying over as quick as her feet could carry her.
'DaFire? Is that a rapper? Please tell me that's a rapper. You don't even understand how starved I am for pop-culture. This school is so, so boring!' She flicked her hair over her shoulder. She was a miniature blonde bombshell, with glistening blue eyes, perfect golden skin and long blonde tresses. She looked like the sort of girl who belonged on the beach in Bali, not in some library. Of course, Vivian happened to hold that exact same view. And even though she could be on the cover of a magazine, there was something about her--there always had been--that made you think she could be your fun, goofy best friend. And that was true--to a certain extent.

Paige's face went bright red at Nico's reaction. But she was okay now as she watched the boy's reaction to the dampshire's words. Half human, half-vampire. Stereotypically, vampires were pale dudes with terrible black hair who wore capes and said "Bla bla bla". Well, at least in the muggle world. But she knew vampires were much more than that. She eyed the boy as he eyed her. She took it all in. Brown hair, curious eyes. Not the eyes of one who was planning to overthrow non-humans.

"I'm Paige. And, uh... I guess you could say that... She ran her hand through her curly hair, not trying to give herself away. "Um, I'm a muggle-born but uh... I mean, this school is crazy!" That's all she could say. She didn't want to lie to William, he seems too nice. "Don't believe everything you read, though, there are stereotypical people out there who only look at the fangs and... stuff..."

Paige glanced up and froze as a girl walked in. This girl looked like she walked right out of a movie set in Hollywood. She made Paige feel slightly self-conscious, not something that happened very often. But Paige could sympathize with the girl, because she slightly felt the same way. It was easier to dance when there was good music. " I know right? *ahem* UH... no... dampshire! Half human, half vampire?"
