Sabrina Hurst was one of the more reckless souls in the student body. Not in the way that she enjoyed pulling pranks on people, which most people let their mind think, but in the way that she couldn't care less if she ended up getting hurt doing something fun. Her time in Derby accounted for that, especially when she was with Reid. Speaking of Reid, just recently she probably had one of her most awkward moments with him. Ever. To be honest, she's been kind of avoiding him since. Not that it worked well, but at least she knew his class schedule, and wouldn't have to encounter him in the hallways. It was odd, but she felt awkward around him.

Currently, she was trying to climb her favourite tree by the Great Lake, but more on the Grounds. She had met Reid by it a few times, and they had even started calling it 'their tree'. It was funny how her thoughts kept going back to the Head Boy. He wasn't even with her at the moment, why was she focusing on him? Well, no one else was around, so there wasn't much else to focus on, except for climbing this tree.

It was one of the nicer days out, and even though there was a remainder of snow sticking to the ground, it was getting kind of warm. She hoped that the snow would melt that day. The sun was out, and so far no clouds threatened to break it up. She kind of wished she was able to view the Muggle daily forecast at Hogwarts. At least then she would be able to dress for the day. It wasn't like she had much choice in the first place - skirts seemed to be the normal now, as well as her Gryffindor blazer and white button-up shirt, with a red and gold tie to top it off. Over top of it now, she wore her winter cloak to fight off the chilly winds.

The redhead reached up to grab onto one of the sturdier-looking branches of the tree. She pulled her weight up, using her feet to kind of climb up the trunk, but she wasn't confident in the soles of her Mary Janes that her mother bought her. They could slip at any time, and she would be falling off the tree and landing on her back on the ground. At least for now, she was good. As long as she could stay focused, she should be fine.

Elmoren took a deep breath, as he took a step out in the cold. He wore a black winter beanie and black gloves. His jacket was a bit too large for his skinny body, and it was black once again. Most of his clothing was black. Elmoren hated the color. It reminded him of his uncle. And anything that reminded him of his uncle made him feel nervous. Elmoren knew it was a stupid logic to have, but he couldn't help, how he felt.

Elmoren started to walk towards the Great Lake. He usually didn't like nature much. There was insects and sometimes even scarier animals. He glared towards the Forbidden Forest and shivered slightly. To imagine anyone walking in there voluntarily.
But today was a different day. Elmoren could not bear to sit in Ravenclaws common room. One of the girls had figured out, who Elmorens uncle was. She kept nagging him for answers, and Elmoren didn't have the heart to tell her off. Instead he decided to take a walk. Peaceful, right? At least until he noticed a tree. And noticed a girl in the tree. And noticed the ice and snow on the tree with the girl.

Elmoren walked in a faster pace. How could she climb trees in weather like this? She would surely fall. As he came close to the tree, he looked up.
"Are... you alright?" Elmoren asked with his soft, light voice.

As a voice startled her from behind, Sabrina's body jolted with fright, and she looked behind her to see a boy she didn't quite recognize. He didn't have any house colours on, so she couldn't even really take a guess. But if she tried, then she would definitely say a Hufflepuff with the way he asked her if she was alright, rather than what she was doing. She grinned childishly, readjusting her slipping grip on the tree branch. "You scared me!" She exclaimed, then furrowed her eyebrows together, "Of course I am alright. Why do you ask?"

And that was when her grip, and foot placing, finally slipped. Thud. A gasp escaped her as her back hit the ground beneath her, and her eyes closed. She didn't break anything, she knew that full well. Her back had a piercing pain now, but nothing Hospital Wing-worthy, thankfully. She opened her eyes, looking up at the sky for a few moments before she sat up, taking her time doing so. She grimaced once she was up and tried to straighten her back. When it did straighten, it felt a lot better than slouching. That was for sure.

"That could be why you asked!" She joked. Most people would wonder how someone would be able to crack a joke in times like this, but she didn't see the problem with it. Sabrina was simply a tough, cheeky girl who liked to joke around. Reid had a lot to do with that, but she liked to think that it was simply because she was how she was. She didn't believe in being influenced by other people quite yet. It was just a part of the naivety of a twelve-year-old. She hasn't experienced quite enough yet to have a say on things like that.

Elmoren largened his eyes, as she jolted. He gasped slightly and clenched his hands together against his chest. He didn't like this one bit. He hated to see people get hurt. It seemed very trivial, but where Elmoren came from, this girl could fall down from the tallest tree, and people would say: 'Learning by doing'. Elmoren didn't like that very much. In his young mind it was a possibility, that everyone could be safe and unhurt in every situation. They just had to handle it correctly.

"I-I just wanted to-" Elmoren was cut off in the middle of his sentence, as the girl slipped on a branch. Elmoren let out a yelp, as she fell on her back. He clenched his fists together harder and looked at her with big eyes, as she laid there. He didn't come near her, though. He waited for her to move. Luckily, she did almost immediatly. Elmoren shook his head to break out of his freezing state. He ran over to her, as she got up. He looked up at her, as she was a bit taller than him. He was quite small for his age after all.

"Do you need to go to the Hospital Wing?" he said with a bit of a panicked voice. He looked at her searchingly to see, if there was any obvious bruises. Elmoren felt chills, as a wind blew against them. His cheeks turned red from the sudden change in temperature - though it turned back to 'warm' right after. He quickly straightened his black hair back to the usual middle parting.

Why was it that Sabrina seemed to be taller than most boys she met? Standing at a measly five foot nothing, she assumed at least some of them would be taller than her. There were tons of people who passed by in the hallways that were certainly taller than the red-haired Gryffindor, but she didn't recognize any of them. And then when she met someone, they were usually shorter. She just wanted to meet one tall first year - was that too much to ask? Of course, all of this stayed in her mind as she was socializing with this Ravenclaw boy. She didn't think aloud often, unless she was being caught off guard.

When he asked her if she needed to visit the hospital wing, the girl grinned widely, so wide that her cheeks could be described as apples. "No way, I'm good." She insisted. Of course, her back ached a little bit, and her head felt a little bogged from the fall and impact, but she didn't have to go see the nurse. She was almost positive she hadn't gotten a concussion, and she hadn't broken any bones. As though to prove she was fine even further, Sabrina stretched her arms up, stretching her back as well in the process.

"See?" She mused, dropping her arms back to her side as she let out a yawn. She covered her mouth with her elbow once she noticed it was coming on, scrunching her nose up afterwards. Whenever she yawned, her eyes seemed to tear up. She blinked them away, shaking her head. "Perfectly fine. Who are you?" She asked, now letting her curiosity peak. She might as well try and make friends while she was at it. She didn't have many chances, and it was best to take the ones she had.

Elmoren was used to being smaller than most others. He didn't really grow much, which his uncle was quite unhappy about. Especially considering the fact that Elmoren lacked in both magical and physical abilities. Or at least the spell magic. He was quite good at magical creatures and herbology. He was also quite excited to get lessons in Divination. Sadly, uncle Barrish didn't seem to find that sort of things important.
Elmoren nodded worringly, as the girl denied his offer to take her to the hospital wing. How could she not be hurt? She must have strong bones, or will. She even stretched.
"That's good. That you are alright, I mean" Elmoren said and lowered his hands from his chest. He still looked at her with a rather worried face, but he was more relaxed. She was clearly relaxed as well. Yawing after such a fall? She must be quite brave, Elmoren thought, or perhaps stupid. He smiled to her.

"I am Elmoren Darkthorne," he answered and scratched the back of his head with his glove-covered hand. "What is your name?" Elmoren was quite happy. He did socialize quite often, but the conversations never lasted long. It often ended with the other person suggesting some kind of michievious act, and when Elmoren denied, they left. Perhaps they found him boring. Elmoren knew, that he wouldn't get in much trouble, if he did something like that. Not at home, anyway. He sometimes suspected his uncle of wanting Elmoren to get in trouble. Uncle Barrish wanted Elmoren to be more in touch with his masculine side. But Elmoren couldn't see, how masculinity was proven by being mean to others.

The Gryffindor girl nodded her head in agreement with the boy that she stood next to. It was good that she was alright - she didn't want to visit the Hospital Wing, she had been so good with not hurting herself thus far. The only one to visit the Hospital Wing that she knew of was Reid, and he was definitely more of a klutz than she would ever be. Seriously, she had no idea how he always happened to get hurt. First with the snowball to the back of the knee,  and what would be next? Falling down a hill and breaking his nose?

Sabrina would definitely feel bad if Reid had to go to a wizard hospice for that. Skele-Grow was probably the worst thing that she had ever tasted. And thankfully, she would probably get to skip that experience while she was in her first year. The girl snapped out of her thoughts when the boy started speaking again, and her cheeks heated up - how had she begun thinking about someone who was not even there with her? It was definitely rude, she should be paying attention to what is actually there in the moment. And at this time it was the dark-haired boy in front of her, who had introduced himself as Elmoren. That was a unique name, one that Sabrina hadn't heard of before.

"I'm Sabrina, great to meet you," She introduced herself, turning her full attention onto the boy now. She was at ease socializing with people in some moments, other moments not so much. Thankfully, this was one of the moments where she was quite alright at it. "Are you a Ravenclaw? I haven't really spoken to many Ravenclaws before. Maybe two?" She wondered, pursing her lips slightly as she seriously thought about it. The only two she could recall were Ben and Bloom - the rest faded from memory somehow.

Elmoren smiled and blushed slightly, as the girl asked, if he was a Ravenclaw. His clothes didn't really say it, so he took it as a compliment, that she would think of him as a Ravenclaw from their first meeting. His uncle had been neither happy nor dissapointed with it, which relieved Elmoren quite a bit. Obviously Slytherin or Gryffindor was to be preferred, but as his uncle phrased it: 'At least it wasn't Hufflepuff.' Elmoren felt bad about it, but that was also his first thought. He didn't think badly about Hufflepuffers, but he really didn't want to be in that house due to his uncle. Especially since his cousin would start next year, and she would without a doubt become a Gryffindor. So that's what he had wished for, but he hadn't dared to hope for anything but Hufflepuff.

"I am indeed. You are a Gryffindor, I can see" Elmoren pointed towards Sabrinas red and gold clothing. Elmoren loved the Gryffindor colors. They were so noble and fantastical. It was without a doubt the house for heroes. Elmoren blushed to himself again. He wanted to be a hero. "Are you a first year as well?" Elmoren thought and smiled to Sabrina.
