Her twitting received no response, so Dee just pulled a face and then turned to see what was happening around the rest of the field, her temper cooling some. Although she'd been too slow to intercept the puck, Opeila and Flash seemed to have fended off the attack just fine, as Percival was now on the ground and the puck was in Lydia's possession, travelling back to Team Red's side of the field.
Dee paused, frowning slightly. She was ready to speed off but... where? And... to do what? For the first time this game, she was on her feet and free to do something while her team was in puck possession, which meant there was no point in blindly storming after the puck the way she'd done so far.
Percival was on the ground, Henry still on his penalty lap, Heinrich wasn't heading this way either, Flash was skating towards Willow so there didn't seem much point in blocking any of the opposing team's players. Maybe she should just... wait? In case someone tried to steal the puck from Lydia, or the Hufflepuff girl failed in her attempt to score. She wasn't looking too well, the effects of the Curse of the Bogies rather clear on her face. Dee winced in sympathy, having experienced just how nasty that cold was on her own body before.
So yeah, just waiting for a possible rebound seemed like a good idea? Maybe she could snatch the puck right back and try to score again.
Except turning slightly had brought Ileen back into her field of vision, just in time to see Kazuo ram into her with his shoulder, sending Ileen to the ground and skidding across the ice, and Dee flinched. That looked like it had hurt, and for a moment, Dee forgot she was supposed to be mad at her best friend, and almost started skating towards her to help her back up.
Biting down on her lip, hesitating, Dee only watched instead of moving. Ileen should be fine, right? She wasn't as battered yet as Dee herself, would get back up by herself in a moment.
Although it was just a few seconds of daze, the Ravenclaw was distracted enough that she completely missed Lydia's scoring attempt, along with Thomas Lestrange's save, and the puck she'd been waiting for skidding off across the ice. When she blinked herself back to the present, she'd missed her window of opportunity, the moment that would have given her the advantage. Others had time to react now, too.

With the puck in their possession and Lydia off to the enemy goalpost, the rest of the team fell in line to protect her journey. Really, in the short amount of time the game had run so far, there was quite a bit of team cohesion. Besides the unfortunate pillow defenseman, everyone seemed determined to win, and were making excellent decisions towards achieving that goal. Of course there were fumbles-- they weren't professionals by any stretch of the imagination-- but Flash's heart was burning with the adrenaline of a game that was tied but in his favor. He didn't want to let it slip away. When pillowman squeaked a pitiable apology to Flash, he looked over with cold indifference, resisting the answer that he might like to say, It hardly matters what you do, I can defend the team myself. Just don't get in my way.
Instead, he was far more charitable in his response, "If you do your best that's good enough." A smile, a bit forced. He was trying to concentrate.
Back to his job, he saw Willow looking at the ice with intense focus, looking incredibly unhappy. She was likely in the stage of the game where she felt she needed to prove herself, or was letting her doubts get to her. It happened in her duels, and in Shuntbumps as well. He knew his target, in that case. He would relieve her of the responsibility on her shoulders. Skating up to her almost casually, Flash would initiate a quick hug, something that was quite easy through exhaustive practice. Then, introduce her to the ground, dropping her perhaps a bit harder than he would have liked. With another, he'd not hesitate in using his full strength, but this was meant as more of a mercy kill.
"Oops, sorry." Flash would be smiling cheekily if she managed to look back up at him. He knew she was also fiercely competitive in the right situation, so she was definitely a real threat. After she had thrown the first spell of hers at him in Shuntbumps, he had no fear that this friendly competition would be taken personally. If anything, he might inspire her to work harder.
He wouldn't linger too long, as he wouldn't want to lose track of what the other players were doing. He got to watch as Thomas unfortunately blocked Lydia's score attempt, though admittedly it did seem like a very easy attempt to block. It looked like Thomas could have blocked it with his eyes closed, not seeming to need to exert much effort to bounce it away. Perhaps Lydia was a bit too blurry-eyed to shoot anymore... but at least there were two other attackers who could grab the puck away. Kazuo was keeping Ileen down, which was good, but Dealla didn't seem to be doing anything at all. She certainly could have grabbed it, but she instead just watched Kazuo's check. The puck slid around openly on the ice claimed by no one. How frustrating.
"Dealla!" Flash wouldn't pretend to start barking orders, but she certainly needed to keep her head in the game. Hopefully that would wake her up.
Elsewhere, it looked like Percival's acquaintance with the ice ended up becoming an obstacle for the first year who first got the puck. Once the two met, it seemed they were done playing. Fair enough, especially since it seemed there were others on the sidelines who wanted to jump in. Flash would be lying if he said he didn't feel a dark sense of accomplishment for Percival getting hurt and quitting the game. He would still try to lie to himself about it though. Convince himself he felt sorry for the other team. Time would tell how he would remember it.

Intially Cash had no plan to joined the game. Their plan was to waited for the game to be over with then they could freely skate through the Great Lake. It had been a long time since the green eyes set their skates on ice. Cash was not a professional one but they could pull out a maneuver or two.
As the game dragged on and body stumbling over. Cash got bored with it. They about to leave the Great Lake until two of the red team players was crashed at each other. Cash cringed as both of the players were stumbled into each other, knee met stomach and head bang onto the ice quite hard.
As the referee skates over to the fallen players asking if both of them were alright. When both of them got up, one of them was sniffling and the other had bloody nose. Clearly both of the player is not suitable to continue the game no more. Once the injured player out of the field the referee glance towards the spectators.
The referee then pointed out to Cash and the other person that was on the field watching the game same as Cash. Cash looked around to make sure the referee indeed pointed them. Once Cash was sure of it, they change from their white sneakers that they wore into their black and gold skates.
Once the skates was securely place on their feet, the Beater then grabbed the unoccupied hockey stick nearby. Cash skates over to the team they assigned at. The green eyes was waiting for the referee to give the signal for the next round. While waiting, a familiar face belong to one Henry Knight approached the purple haired.
Henry asked whether the young socialite joined the game or not. "Looks like it"Cash replied to their good friend. "Not my initial plan but why not. I was bored watching you guys played so pathetically from the sideline"The green eyes let out a playful jabbed and smirk.
Cash then looked around and saw one Alan Vanes also joining the team where both Cash and Henry were in. It been ages since the last time Cash met Alan. Cash always had respected for the redhead boy (Alan). "Maybe just maybe Alan and I are what your team need"They exclaimed as the rubbed their glove covered hands and wait for the next round to begin.

Ileen only took a few moments to re-orientate. The puck was on the way to their goal - she had missed Percival’s scoring attempt, too busy trying not to get murdered.
Though she felt deep reluctance, as it was exactly what Lestrange had said and thus reason enough to do the exact opposite, she set off to cross the path of the pretty Hufflepuff on her way to the goal. But she would not let down her team, because she didn’t appreciate the self made captain… even if it was very tempting. She would defend!
On her way, she passed by the other defender, Willow, who looked rather upset. Ileen had overheard Lestrange’s comment from before. She gave the young girl an encouraging smile, feeling deep sympathy for her. The enemy of my enemy is my friend... “Don’t listen to Lestrange. He’s talking a lot of sh-”
Okay, she probably should have focused on staying on her feet. Her balance was extremely inconsistent today. In the middle of the sentence she got stuck on a bump and fell so hard that the air was pressed out of her lungs. Her knees throbbed from the impact, but Ileen would not let that stop her for long. She might have felt better if she had seen that Lestrange had also fallen over, even though he was just standing around instead of skating. But no, she was too busy getting back on her own feet.
Ileen had lost sight of the puck. Where was it? Determined, she pushed herself up and tried to orientate, ignoring the pain that would probably show up as bruises tomorrow.
Before she could fully grasp the situation, she felt a shoulder ram into her side and she was painfully sent to the ground again. What the…?!
Ileen was furious. By now she was pretty sure that every part of her body would be blue or green tomorrow. The pain throbbed dully in the back of her head, but was washed away by indignation and anger when she realized that it was the Hufflepuff boy again who had just tackled her a few seconds ago. This time, even without a quick apology. What an unfair idiot! He had certainly seen that she had just gotten up, so how could she have had a chance to dodge?
It wouldn't surprise her if Kazuo could feel her burning gaze at his back. Her brown eyes were narrowed to slits and she gritted her teeth angrily. The young Slytherin was a very unforgiving person who took many things far too personally. It was probably a blessing for everyone that she usually gave team sports a wide berth.
Ileen's cheeks were red with anger. One thing was clear. He would pay for this. "You’ll regret this." Congratulations Kazuo, you now have a reticle on you for the rest of your years at Hogwarts.

Alan saw the crash and winced slightly, that must have been painful. He heard the call for substitutes and pushed himself up from the patch of grass he was sitting on. He had not been actively watching, but rather had been at the side sitting leaned up against a tree. Tiger would slightly raise his head but otherwise did not bother as Alan started moving towards the lake. He would carefully switch out his boots with a pair of skaters before carefully venturing over the ice, skidding towards Percival and reaching out a hand to help him up and get him towards the shore of the lake. Alan has never been walking over ice with skates before and was a little worried on how to make them function properly. However he would try sliding as he had seen the other players do before they started to get a hang of it. He was sure he would be able to figure it out over time too. His fingers and hands were wrapped by a over-sized pair of gloves that he had gotten from @Eliseo Céspedes when they were building a pair of snow men together. After Alan brought Percival to the shore and told him to get better at the Hospital Wing, he would turn towards the ice again, taking in a deep breath as if that would help him gather some confidence in himself.

Opeila watched as two opponents were helped to get off the ice. It seemed her chance to return her housemate's mockery was taken away from her, too bad. Their replacements were... Oh good god. Her dorm mate, Cassandra Ironwoods and... a fourth year, Alan Vanes. Well, wouldn't that be fun. The Slytherin watched him get on the ice, a little relieved when she saw his almost clumsy sliding. She had seen the older kids often being faster and stronger than the younger ones, so she had bee scared that they were in a disadvantage- well they probably still were, looking at the way Thomas' spell affected Lydia. How mean, her perfectly casted curse of the bogies was completely useless now!
Her team didn't manage to score, the game was still 1:1. Well, that was fine as long as team red didn't take the lead. For now the puck was free to take. Come on, come on... Give me the time to cast some more spells... Opeila was a duellist, no athlete. She was not the weakest, actually she seemed to be in the upper ranks when it came to strength in her year, but spells were her weapon. Opeila owned a wand and she knew how to use it better than her fists- Her attempt to punch Jack Warren in her last year proved that point.

It seemed Willow's suddenly upset mood hadn't gone unnoticed, first by her teammate Ileen who skated over to give her some encouragement that Thomas was just being a jerk, before promptly falling over. Willow couldn't help but gasp a little bit at Ileen's sudden fall, especially in the middle of a rallying speech. She smiled and nodded slightly, understanding what she was about to say. "I'll prove him wrong!" She had quit Quidditch, but that didn't mean she suddenly lacked the ability to do anything.
Her mood was still a bit off kilter as she skated away from Ileen who seemed to already be on her way back up onto her feet. She spotted Flash skating right at her, and prepared for an impact of a tackle like what the other students had been doing around the ice. Instead she was met with a quick hug from a brother that sensed her mood. Even with him being on the other team he made time to take care of her in the ways he knew how. She felt herself drop slightly onto the ice, of course he had to make it seem like he had tackled her. The smile on his face was met with a stuck out tongue playfully from her. "Thanks. I'll get you back for that." The rest of this round was spent picking herself back up, emotionally and physically. With a fresh dusting off of Thomas' bad attitude, she was ready to play again.

Whether it was a gust of wind, or preoccupation with the suspect figure that emerged from the shadows to address a violent collision. Stranger Danger! Thomas' focus was everywhere but on maintaining his balance. The boy slid into a rough edge, initiating a wobble before he fell forward onto the ice, using his palms to preserve his face.
The collision stopped play for a moment, the pair of teammates were deemed unfit to proceed, or simply declined to keep going. Fortunately, reserves were waiting on hand. Alan Vanes of Gryffindor, who Thomas was acquainted in a long drawn out afternoon in his hometown of New Romney. Joining him was Cash Ironwoods, steady beater for Slytherin. Her entrance offered a glimmer of hope, Thomas hoping her physical nature on a broom translated to ice skates.
Though there was not much time to linger on the new arrivals, the mysterious person gave the signal to resume play, and Lydia quickly retained possession in a bee line towards Thomas. As he's been accustomed to doing, Thomas embraced his sprawled position on the ice, wiggling to square his frame to Lydia's, sitting up on his knees and reaching up with his stick towards her shot trajectory. Perhaps his curse was to thank for the lack of air underneath her shot, Thomas reached his stick out and deflected the puck.
After bouncing off Thomas, it wobbled out in front of him, too far for his reach with Dee skulking nearby to sniff out a rebound. The boy maintained his position on his knees, slightly pivoting to square his body to Dee. But nothing happened, the girl seemingly in a daze, she did not recognize the wobbling rubber on the ice below, leaving it to settle between them. Thomas quirked a brow, issuing an amused stare towards the Ravenclaw. "It's behind you." It wasn't.

Jake looked up sheepishly at his fellow defenseman, but the other boy said that if he tried his best, then that would be good enough. It was the kind of thing his mum would have said. It didn't really matter how well you did on something, so long as you tried. He knew that was true with grownups, but he wasn't sure that kids always thought the same way. So it counted in hockey too? That was good, though sometimes doing your best seemed hard enough.
"Okay, I'll try," Jake said back, with a nod of his head.
And he did try, but as he watched the others waiting for a puck to go towards their side, he found himself drifting a little too far from the goal, and right into the path of...the same boy once again.
"I'm okay...are you okay?" he asked the Slytherin who he had already knocked into a bunch of times. At least this time neither of them had fallen down.
Other members of the game hadn't been so lucky. He watched as the other kids began to slip and stumble. He saw spells being cast. And then Percival and Heinrich collided. Jake turned and skated towards them, forgetting all about his promise to do his best at defending. He thought he saw the younger boy crying...As the two were taken off of the ice, Jake stared after them, watching to see if they were ok. They were on their way to the hospital wing, but it didn't look like they had been hurt too badly.
Hockey was even more dangerous than he had thought...
"Alan!" Jake said, waving at the older boy who had just arrived on the ice. "Be careful...it's really crazy out here..." he said in warning, before trying to skate back towards his goal, remembering what he had said to his fellow defenseman and the girl from the Halloween ball.

Miss. But Jake wasn't the only one who had set their eyes on the new player. Maybe an attempt to get them off the field as suddenly as they'd entered? @Opeila Winters also decided that Cassandra made a good target, and she attempted to grace the opposing team with another nasty cold. However, this attempt, too, although cast beautifully, went into nothing. It seemed that Cassandra was not to be underestimated.Initiative: Opeila vs Cassandra
ReducioOpeila: [d20: 18] + 6 = 24
Cassandra: [d20: 11] + 5 = 16
Opeila vs Cassandra
ReducioOpeila casts Curse of the Bogies at Cassandra. (WDC 11 + 2 Willow & Alan's LC)
Wisdom: [d20: 15] + 7 = 22, success
Accuracy: [d20: 13] + 7 = 20
Evasion: [d20: 19] + 6 = 24
Miss.In any case, @Cassandra Ironwoods seemed to learn rather quickly how this game was supposed to be played, and they chose their first target quickly: Dealla was of the opposing team and was currently guiding the puck. Well, if Cash had anything to say about it, it wouldn't stay that way. After dodging two attacks on them, they attempted to repay in kind, bracing themselves to execute a hockey check against the Ravenclaw. But Dealla was not an easy target: She almost managed to twist out of the way, and Cassandra only managed to slightly bump into her, leaving both a little unsteady.Cassandra vs Dealla
ReducioCassandra attempts to bodycheck Dealla.
Accuracy: [d20: 17] + 6 = 23
Evasion: [d20: 14] + 9 = 23
Impaired Hit.
Both Dealla and Cassandra will suffer -1 Accuracy for their next action. Dealla remains in possession of the puck.@Ileen Knight was seeing red - or, uh, well, actually blue. Either way, she was angry, absolutely outraged, actually, and all of her fury was directed at one boy of Team Blue: Kazuo Shimada. For daring to bodycheck her not only once, but twice, and not even bothering with a fake apology the second time. How incredibly rude. Her solution: Jinx him, maybe a little conjured wind would knock him onto his backside.Ileen vs Kazuo
ReducioIleen attempts to cast Wind Jinx at Kazuo.
Roll for Detection:
Wisdom: [d20: 12] + 12 = 24
Evasion: [d20: 5] + 7 = 12
Attempt at cheating is noticed. Ileen will have to spend a turn doing a penalty lap.
Sadly, or luckily, likely depending on who you asked, the referee noticed before she managed to cast the spell. "Ileen Knight, penalty lap!" came the call across the ice, Ileen's attempt at cheating thwarted.@Thomas Lestrange used the pause between attacks on his goal to climb back onto his feet. A good decision, maybe he'd have to guard against another scoring attempt soon - assuming Dealla Prince lived that long.Thomas
ReducioThomas successfully gets up from the Ground.
Alan
ReducioJoins the game, will have a full action next round.
Lydia
ReducioDid not post, her action was voided.
Meanwhile, @Lydia Cooper was violently shaken by a sudden bout of sneezes, rendering her unable to help her team for the moment. Her condition was obviously worsening by the second. How long would she last?
Last but in no way least, @Alan Vanes finally made his way across the ice to join his new team. A little unsure, a little awkward on his skates, he obviously wasn't the most experience skater, but he stayed on his feet, and what more could Team Red ask for, really?

OOC Note
- Ileen is on the Ground. She will have to spend her next action getting up, and the action after doing a penalty lap.
- The next moderation will take place next weekend. Your team has 6 days from the time of this modpost to decide on your internal action order and actions and send them to Dealla Prince.
- Failure to post will result in a void action. You may ask for one 24 hour extension.
- If you notice anything off about the mod, don't hesitate to poke me about it, might very well have missed something.
