Aldor suddenly answered by instinct, he didn't even think about it twice, he cleared his throat quietly and ask her something she probably was not expecting.
''Would you like me to buy something for you?- Well, you can pick anything you like, if you're ok with that of course-''
Aldor smiled softly, waiting for her answer, usually he wouldn't do this for anyone else, even though he looks like the type of person who is more into taking care of himself than sweets, he had a natural weakness to sugar. So much, that he had to keep himself from going to any sort of candy shop or he'd end up wasting all of the money his aunt gave him. This brought back fun memories about his aunt, like the very first time he baked a pie with her, and almost burned down the kitchen, or that other time they were making chocolate and Aldor added salt instead of sugar on accident, in general those memories were about him making a mess, but he recalls something very important, his aunt was always smilling, she never got mad him, and only told him to be more careful next time they tried something like that.
And so, Aldor learned many things, trial and error, a fundamental way of solving problems and learning. His aunt had very strong thoughts about this, and always said that everyone deserves a second chance no matter how bad they seem at something, they will learn with the tools required to do so and good advice.

As the old woman waited with her treat cart, Tory scrambled over to where she was sitting before -across from Aldor- and frantically looked for the sickles her mother had sent with her. She hadn’t had sweets in a while, since Christmas, when her maternal grandmother, Grandma Sunny, had brought a few caramels and chocolate frogs with her from France (“Mère!1ne pas2rot my daughter’s teeth with all that du sucre3!” Her mother had scolded).
That reminded Tory of how her mother always spoke more French around her grandmother, and how on Christmas Eve the whole house would smell of potatoes and ham, and how her paternal grandmother, Grandmother Moriah, would always try to fish in the frozen lake near the house, and would always come home drenched, but would refuse to admit her own defeat. Tory smiled sweetly to herself thinking about the memories. Then she realized she was getting homesick again, and mentally slapped herself as she went back to searching for those sickles.
Suddenly, as Tory was searching her pant pocket, she heard Aldor say ''Would you like me to buy something for you?- Well, you can pick anything you like, if you're ok with that of course-'' and her cheeks somehow flushed an even redder beet shade than they had earlier. She whipped around, a few just found sickles slipping out of her hands. “I-erm..” She muttered, bending down to grab the sickles. Sighing, she reluctantly said, after counting and deciding her sickles were barely enough to buy a single magic toothbrush at The Leaky Cauldron, “Ok. Thanks...how about chocolate frogs?”
Key: 1 - “mère” means mother | 2 -“ ne pas” means do not | 3 - “du sucre”means sugar

''Chocolate frogs? I got you.''
He'd take out his sickles, he had just enough to buy one for her, maybe it wasn't much, but Aldor didn't really mind, he thought that buying something for her would be a good way to start this friendship, he wasn't sure if this bothered her, or if she would be happy about it, either way, he had already paid the woman and she was already giving the treat to him.
He looked back at Tory, as he handed her what he just bought for her with a beaming smile, making him look terribly adorable, soon after he gave her the chocolate, he realized how he was smilling and covered his mouth in a very indiscreet way as he blushed, he never really smiled that way with anyone, and he was almost scared of what other people would think of his smile.
''Anyway, I-I hope you like it-''
Aldor would try to stop smilling that way, as he felt like he looked weird and awkward, this wasn't strange, he was always very insecure, but he wasn't sure why he started smilling like that so suddenly, of course, he felt good about sharing what he had, but there was more than that, he just honestly felt happy, happier than he usually was, after having his feelings locked up in his own mind for the past few days, he finally felt some true joy.

Had Aldor just bought a chocolate frog for Tory? Had he really? Tory didn't know how to react to such generosity - I mean, just holding a conversation with her made Tory consider you as a very nice person. When she had agreed to him buying it in the first place for her, she had thought it would be one for each of them, then she wouldn't have felt as guilty.
She had never been rich, never had much money, but she was taught to stay strong, not to give in to people spoiling you or buying things for you, and that's why she almost refused for Aldor to buy her something. It made her feel pampered, like she was living off somebody else's money. Of course, as usual, she was overthinking a very small thing, a single chocolate frog.
Aldor was now smiling. No, not just simply, plainly smiling, but beaming brighter than the sun. His hand was over his mouth - Tory suspected to cover up his smile and now very obviously red cheeks - but it was kind of failing. She didn't really care, she loved seeing people happy. Especially when it was true happiness. True joy. Not just a phony, fake, plastic smile glued on your face. Tory strongly despised fake happiness. She always thought that if you were upset, you might as well display it instead of pretending to be something your not.
"Thank you very much!" Tory chirped, Aldor's glee spreading to her and lighting her whole face up, a sweet smile spreading across it as she opened the chocolate frog. "Cool!" She exclaimed, "It's Candace Vablatsky."
She sat back down to enjoy her treat, across from Aldor, and looked out the window yet again. The villages were none, and the hills were fading into mountains. They must be getting close to Hogwarts.

''You're welcome''
Aldor looked back at Tory for a few seconds, smiling softly, feeling really happy, but worried, what if they didn't end up in the same house? His aunt said Hogwarts was a huge place, what if they never found each other again? He tried not to think about this but he was clearly worried, in the future he would find a few good friends just like Tory, but he didn't know this yet, in fact, he felt terrified of the fact that he would be all alone in Hogwarts if he wasn't able to find her again.
Aldor wasn't exactly interested in girls in a romantic way, and he wouldn't be for some time, after all, he was very young, and he spent a lot of time in his books and other things to even bother caring about it, but he felt a deep connection with Tory, more as if she was the sister he always needed, a person who actually cared about how he felt, someone who understood what he went through. He didn't feel completely safe around her just yet, but at least he knew that she was honest, at least as far as he saw.
In the end, he tried not to worry about it, whether they found each other somehow or not, he would do his best to enjoy this last few minutes they'd spend togheter this day, in his heart, all he can hope for is that they manage to get togheter somewhere, somehow.

The end of the train ride was getting closer, Hogwarts was getting closer. A whole new life was closer. Tory was just a bit nervous. Scratch that, just a bit, was an underestimate. She was really nervous. Really, really nervous. She now was focusing again on whether or not Aldor and her would be in the same house. Which, frankly, made her nervous.
Just by looking at him Tory could tell he was thinking the same thing. I mean, it wouldn't be the end of the world, but it would be so much easier to have a pre-made friend already waiting for you in your same house. They weren't bestfriends or anything, but they weren't strangers either, which was at least a small accomplishment, and Tory already knew she was the louder one, and Aldor was more quiet.
Tory brought her knees up to her chest again, and in a voice of pure warmth, she reassured Aldor, and although she wouldn't admit it, herself as well, "It's alright Aldor, I'm sure everything will turn out just fine..." And those were her last words to Aldor, for the time being at least, because she had gotten out of the cart and was now changing into her robes. After a few minutes, she walked back into the thin and crowded hallway now, and there was a sudden, abrubt noise, signaling the train had stopped. A whole bunch of commotion buzzed around Tory as she stood there in the middle of the hall.
She was nervous. She was also excited. She was homesick, to. But it didn't matter, because this, like in a good book, was just a new chapter in Tory's life.

Aldor simply nodded when she said everything was going to be alright, but now he regrets not saying anything else, he didn't know if he'd see her again or if they would end up in the same house, he waited for the other students to also start going out so he wouldn't have to be with the crowd. Soon enough he followed them, holding his book close to his chest, preparing for whatever will come next, his heart was pounding rapidly, he wasn't sure how to feel about going to Hogwarts just yet, but he knew it wouldn't be as bad as he first thought.
His original plan was to follow his aunt's foot steps, but now that he met Tory, he realized that there was more to being in Hogwarts than learning and spending his free time on books, more books and even more books. Maybe, just maybe, his point of view had changed, and made him have a 180º turn.
The world wasn't as dark and grimm as he thought it waas for the past few years, there were some beautiful things he missed out on for so long, but he wouldn't waste his time anymore, he would do his best to enjoy what was in front of him, and experiment new feelings. Being thankful for the smallest of things, as he thought about that, he started to worry less about not seeing her again. He was thankful for meeting her and getting to the conclusion he just had.
Little did he know this wouldn't be the last time he would find Tory Williamson in his life.
