This is just Henna - It will wash off in a day.
Dance of the bush people... Hum... Bailey thought, after seeing the poster in the common room that morning after breakfast. I think I’ll go. Bailey decided, after puzzling about it all through all of her classes. After changing into an outfit she wouldn't mind getting dirty, or even ruined, Bailey headed down to where Eliseo Céspedes, the groundskeeper, had said to go.
Arriving next to a roaring bonfire, Bailey noted the other students milling around. deciding to get a head start on her nature-y outfit, Bailey went to the collection of plants that she figured the groundskeeper had put together for the student's use.
Bailey decided to start by weaving a crown of flowers and ive. After that, Bailey planned to attach a few creepers to the crown, making a sort of veil, that would hopefully float about while she danced.
After finishing her crown, Bailey started on her veil. She braided some creepers together in a braid, and one by one she attached them to her crown. After putting the crown on, Bailey decided that she could add a little detail to her veil by adding some flowers here and there. Bailey soon immersed herself in attaching the flowers inn a pattern, so when she spun they would show a sort of picture.
After a while, Bailey finished her veil decorating. Deciding to take a break and toast a s'more, Bailey again placed her crown and veil upon her head, and went to the snack table that had been prepared by none other than Eliseo Céspedes. After grabbing a gram cracker, a few marshmallows, and a bar of Honeyduke's finest chocolate, she headed over to the fire. After toasting a marshmallow and preparing her s'more, Bailey bit into the heavenly creation that is a s'more. After devouring two huge s'more's, Bailey was powered up again and ready to finish her leafy costume.
Rolling up her sleeves of her ravenclaw sweater, Bailey exposed the henna one of her fellow students had drawn on her for this occasion. Bailey was sure it would wash off in a day or so, and if not she would use the magical soap her mother had bought for her in Diagon Alley for Christmas. Deciding to make a series of chains to serve as bracelets and necklaces, Bailey grabbed her supplies and headed to another shaded spot.
Gaizing around the bonfire, Bailey spotted a boy hot gluing leaves onto a shirt, another girl toasting a s'more, and a bit lump of weeds. Nope, not a lump of weeds. A person disguised as a bush person. That had to be the groundskeeper, Eliseo Céspedes.
Walking over to the groundskeeper, Bailey said, “Hello mr. bush-man. Nice party”. And with that, Bailey walked off again.
after completing her series of necklaces and bracelets, Bailey decided toLink them together to decorate the snack table. She decided to do this since the table had no adornments.
While linking the chains together, Bailey watch the other students. As the sunset, more and more students came down.
Bailey saw wide variety of students, from each house. Plenty of Ravenclaws and Hufflepuff’s. A few scattered Slytherin and Gryffindor too.
As the sunset, it sent a brilliant sparkle across the lake. Bailey could only imagine what it was like to see the Durmatrangue ship come up out of it.
Bailey also wondered what it would be like to be grabbed by the giant squid. Bailey was sure that she would make great friends with the squid, and any other lake dwelling creatures.
Being the curious creature she was, Beatty continued to deserve the students and faculty that she saw around her as the sky darkened.
As the sky darkened, the bonfire illuminated the clearing.

There was something to be said about the first signs of spring, something poetic about nature's renewal and the change of seasons. All of these things would have been lost on Jacquelyn, who was only casually grateful for the warmer weather and the melting snow. Still, the air still carried a chill and the dungeons were still cold, so she had taken her winter cloak, hat and mittens with her to meet Rhys outside.Mentioning and Interacting:@Rhys Hughes
"I've never been to a campfire before." She told him as they walked. "Or..bonfire? Is it a bonfire because it's bigger? Or..because it's better?" Her family had never gone camping in the summer, nor did they have a yard to have a fire pit. She stood just close enough to feel the heat on her face, marvelling for about 35 seconds at the dancing flames and the sound of wood crackling. She inhaled the scent of campfire smoke, considered, then abruptly turned to examine all the collected flora.
She looked over the boxes of plants curiously, glancing back and forth at the others who were making or modelling their creations. She hadn't the faintest idea what she could possibly make, nor did she know how to make something as wild as the cloaks or shirts or entire outfits that some people had already done. So instead of taking exactly what she needed, she took a little bit of everything. Some flowers, some moss, some twigs and twine and string. She considered the snacks on the table but decided against them-- later, she told herself, but she was definitely going to make s'mores.
"Gosh, it's warmer than I thought it would be!" She declared as she slid into a seat facing the bonfire, placing all the plants on the table before taking off her hat and mittens. She ran her fingers through her thick hair a few times to (unsuccessfully) tame it. Someone at a table nearby was making a flower crown, another a wreath. A few were dressing head to toe in the stuff, and Jacquelyn's nose crinkled as she watched. She was already worried about getting dirt and plant stains on her clothes.
"Do you know how to make a flower crown?" She asked. "Do you just twist the stems together?" She picked a few white flowers out of her pile and tried to braid them together.

Grant had been collecting leaves for about a week now. In theory he should have maybe started at that earlier or even in the actual fall, though Spring was the whole point and theme of this endeavor. Still a few yellow leaves interspersed in among the green, to sort of fit House colors?
It was a working theory for his craft. Really just after his first Semester had gone so well and now his second was off to an ok start, he wanted to continue that and make something spectacular.
Ok Spectacular was too big of a goal. Something ok.
Also even though he was the second to last person his uncle had to worry about sending to Hogwarts, he had been the sort of dam-break (maybe for his uncle's problems with the school centering around older brother protectiveness of his mother) and now they were telling Matilda everything. No secret owls, like Ben and Sarah had had to send, and Grant wanted to share everything with her in a way he wished he'd been privy to.
It was also his first Bonfire, and the whole concept of a Bonfire sounded cool.
Not so much dancing around it like a bush...but then full body Ghillie wasn't required, thankfully, otherwise Grant would have been tempted to think this was just First Year Hazing. He had quizzed Ben (the first he found in the halls afterwards) and was fairly certain he was being truthful when he said it wasn't.
He wasn't sure where the Orange Flying Fish Shirt had come from, it just finding its way to their small isle to be handed to him by a neighbor one day, but he figured it, and the orange background, could maybe help with a nature theme with leaves all on it. If he left the little feather fin visible he could even work it in maybe...
Plus orange was still in the color spectrum of yellow (wasn't it?) so it would also fit House. Not a requirement or worth any extra points. Thankfully it was also a bit big for him so he was able to wear it over an undershirt and take it off to add more leaves when he got there. Entering the spot, the large roaring bonfire was the first thing Grant noticed.
Whoa! They weren't kidding about fire!
He walked towards where tables (complete with snacks!) were set up, and knew he should get to adding more leaves to his shirt, but was first distracted by the snacks and sampled a few, yet while glancing at the tables and pondering if leaves was his only idea. A few seemed to be going that route, while others (some of the girls yes, but not just them) had very elaborate outfits!
Maybe he was going to stand out for being a bit simple in his costume...
Grant glanced to the ground, seeing only dirt of course. And grass. He had arrived to late to hear the comment on rolling in the dirt, and only hoped his next idea wasn't already to wild. Finishing his handful of food for the moment (he wouldn't mix and eat the dirt) Grant dusted his hands before getting them dirty again scooping some of the dirt to smear on his green cargo pants he'd worn for the theme.
He stood up and glanced over the effect. Hmm...not bad...but maybe not full Tree. Though he wasn't trying to go full Tree.

A thick, faded red jumper and old jeans didn’t seem to be quite warm enough. Rhys was uncomfortable from the moment he emerged outside, felt the crisp evening air creeping its way through the holes of his jumper, and caught sight of Jacquelyn, bundled up in her winter best.Mentioning and Interacting:@Jacquelyn Gibson
Scotland held the cold, or, rather, it was the cold holding onto Scotland much more fiercely than it ever did Wales, and it was difficult to judge the exact level of insulation needed for the evening during the increasingly warmer, brighter daylight hours of late. While an undoubtedly welcome change, the pleasant comfort of those days belied the distinct coolness enveloping them now and he briefly considered asking her to wait for him while he popped back to the dormitory to grab his own cloak.
Instead, considering the time and how the last few times he’d left her outside the Fat Lady some of the sixth years seemed to have come to the genius conclusion that because she was both friend and girl she must - in some deluded and dull and most importantly incorrect way - be more than that, must be his “girlfriend”, he soldiered after her, crossing his arms tightly against his chest. He was in no mood to be so effortlessly put in a bad mood by the feat of some lazy acrobatics of the mind.
In fact, despite how he was hurrying as much against the cold as he was his impatience to get to the orange-red glow feeling its way up to the sky down by Eliseo’s (and had to remind himself to actually slow down to keep pace with Jacquelyn), his mood was distinctly elevated.
There was something sweetly intoxicating about being outside again at this time of day, with the familiarity of the scent of freshly cut flowers and the unique sponginess of the spring-kissed ground. A nostalgia for the openness of the outdoors that had - necessarily - gone dormant in lieu of the lessons during the day and homework at night, both of which were almost entirely confined to the castle.
“What? Really?” He tried not to sound aghast at her admission of having never been to a bonfire, tried not to sound like his upbringing on the barest edges of civilization could be considered the norm or normal when there was no such thing in this place. “I think you’ll like it.” He grinned, before adding, “And I think it’s only a campfire if we’re actually camping.”
As the transient outline of the fire loomed closer, filled more of the landscape, grew close enough to have it infiltrate all his senses all at once, every thought of ever being cold melted away. The heat radiating in short, cracking bursts, then long, slow waves was more than sufficient at keeping comfort close and when he finally looked away, looking round for Jac, she was already set to work on gathering her materials.
He glanced, briefly, at what she was selecting, scanned the others’ outfits, some becoming so elaborately decked out it looked as if they’d somehow already been there for hours, and then scooped up some random elements of his own. Bundle of twigs, a handful of mostly red and yellow flowers, a few sheets of still-living moss, what must have been an entire spool of twine.
It seemed the others already had some idea of where they were taking this, and initially he thought he might have recognized some of them, but, between the dwindling daylight, plumes of smoke, and dance of the fire, illuminating those nature-soaked shapes both softly and violently, some delicately soft and others grotesquely violent, he didn’t spare them much consideration beyond the work at hand.
Taking a seat next to her, Rhys crossed an ankle over a knee and started gently bending some twigs, a few dry pieces snapping the instant his hands tried, though the fresher ones, still tinged with green on the end, easily yielded to his grip before he secured the slow growing wood crown with twine. Glancing up at her query, he nodded. “Yeah, you’ve got the right idea. First you sorta cross two of ‘em, then twist the bottom stem up, around and back down,” he grabbed two of his own to demonstrate, “then you lay them on top of another one, twist that stem up and around these first ones, then back. See how the stems all go the same way? It’s a bit tricky at first, but, yeah, just repeat with each flower.”
Reaching for another twig, he frowned at a dark smear of liquid on his finger before wiping it on his sweater. “Careful, couple of these flowers have got thorns.”

Spring.
The snow had begun to finally disappear, replaced by the budding green of new life. Seven months locked away in this castle, far from home. Winter had been hard. Long and cold and nothing like what he was used to. Yet it had also introduced him to new experiences. The hockey game, the New Year’s Ball, the Sinterklaas disaster and even Howard’s outburst had all led to fascinating discoveries. The hockey game had been about himself - learning that he had a competitive streak. Sinterklaas had shown him just how wrong things were at Hogwarts - and how so few seemed to notice. Howard’s quest for vindication had led to an investigation that had motivated him to put his intelligence to work, hunting down multiple mysteries with some interesting people.
Spring had a universality regardless of culture, something inherently natural, residual of humanity’s role in nature. Though humans may believe that they have removed themselves from the cyclical nature of the world, the truth was that the turning of the seasons called to them still. That fascinating line between higher intellect and baser instinct was often blurred together by human emotion. It was surely that which drove the groundskeeper to host a celebration of spring involving dressing like primitives and gathering around a bonfire.
It wasn’t the sort of celebration he was used to. Spring in Tokyo was already much warmer, the flowers already starting to bloom. March heralded the start of his favourite season, of plum and sakura blossoms filling the air. Scotland was green but it felt colder, rockier, hardier. He lingered on the outskirts of the gathering, taking his time, watching as other students were drawn to the boisterous event. Children were always ready to abandon any pretense of civility to revel in uncontained emotions. The groundskeeper had collected enough greenery to clothe the entire student body in plants it seemed from the boxes and heaps all around the area. He leaned against a tree, blending in with the dark as he watched students collecting the greenery to make all sorts of creative outfits while the groundskeeper beat his drums like some sort of mythical swamp creature. It was an amusing scene, children reliving their pagan roots. Fascinating to watch as the greater event inevitably drifted down to small clusters of ‘friends’, social circles they had created to support each other.
Did he have such a thing? Friends? No, perhaps not. Not really. Not like these people, laughing and joking with each other. He hadn’t let himself grow close enough to anyone. He had acquaintances and allies, people he could even say he was fond of but the sort of friendship he watched the others engage in, was not something he had. He contemplated that state, wondering why that human drive to gather together didn’t have the same appeal to him as it did to others. He didn’t mind company sometimes, in small numbers but these sorts of events… he didn’t want to participate. He found far more enjoyment in watching, analyzing, learning from others.
He stepped forward, pushing away from the tree to step into the firelight, wandering around the collection of greenery, gathering bits and pieces as he went. Bright red rose blossoms were his flower of choice, the singularly vivid colour he preferred. He carefully wove the stems together into a wreath the way his mother had done with sakura blossoms back home. The rose stems were thicker, harder to intertwine than the thinner sakura but he was determined and eventually managed to produce a decent-looking crown. He placed it on his head, a splash of vivid red against the raven-black of his hair. Once the crown was complete, he gathered another handful of roses and drifted away from the fire and the noise of the others, making his way back to the tree. Tucking the stems of the roses in his teeth, he pulled himself up into the welcoming branches of the trees, settling in a low crook to watch the continued gallivanting of the other students around the fire. It was a strange mixture of faerie-like adornments - crowns and capes and mantles of greenery - and full-on swamp people, head-to-toe mossy monsters like the groundskeeper. He plucked the petals from the roses as he watched, gathering them in his lap.
Some faces he recognized. Henry, competitive second-year Slytherin. Quinlan, Calypso, and Lucia, he’d seen around the dorms. Atlas and Ethen, the most adorable swamp-couple to grace the House of the Badger. Quite a few more that he hadn’t met or even crossed paths with. Hogwarts seemed to have an endless amount of students wandering its halls, faceless to him until they did something to draw his attention. Would anyone draw his attention tonight? Or would there be any more strange events? It was these questions that intrigued him, that drew him to these events, drew his gaze to drift over the students as they gathered, to watch and to wait. He released a handful of petals, letting them drift downward from his perch, fluttering in the wind. What did the still-cold winds of spring bring with them?

"Yeah. I mean, we went to summer camps in London, but we weren't camping." Jacquelyn continued, "And Dad used to make s'mores for us at home, but it definitely wasn't the same." She gestured at a few other students who already had marshmallows on long sticks, jabbing them into the fire until they caught. "I'm definitely making one later. Maybe two. Have you made them before? Are they better burnt like that?" She could be careful to let it slowly cook, sure, but it looked more fun to blow out the marshmallow-sized flame.Mentioning and Interacting:@Rhys Hughes
She paused to watch Rhys' demonstration closely, then tried to mimic it with her own. "I think I get it." She said, though she still leaned over to look at his crown as she worked.
Jacquelyn didn't really get to do anything crafty often; she wasn't particularly good at it, nor did she often have the attention span nor inclination. But she found the slow repetition almost soothing as she carefully weaved the more supple pieces together into something that could pass as a crown. A flower tiara, perhaps. A flower headband?
"I don't think I grabbed any with thorns, but that's good to know." She said, tilting her head to glance at him as he brushed his jumper. "It didn't get you too bad, did it?"

The incredibly large fire was the first thing Maria noticed. Frankly, it was rather hard to miss. It was not like fire was a new feature Hogwarts experience, but the fact that this one looked like it was angrily blazing and growing in the night air incited some concern in the young witch.
From where she stood outside the castle, she could see it. At first she thought it was just a flickering that danced across her eyes but then she realized that it did not fade. Instead, it persisted and almost demanded her attention.
Trying to find out what was going on, she approached the source. She did not know what it was for, but seeing the shadows of figures as they moved against the curtain of the night peaked her curiosity. They looked like odd shapes moving about in the lit darkness. What was happening? Part of her wondered if there was something much more nefarious going on. The faint sounds of “ominous” bongo playing she heard as she approached did not do much to quell her fears either.
The fire looked much larger up close. A steady line of smoke made a large cloud as it dissipated up into the air. It burned and danced almost as if it were moving along with the beat of the sounding instrument. Crackling and hissing could be heard as the wood gave way and turned into ash. She moved a little closer. She could hear the bongos clearly now, and that only added to the hypnotic effect of the fire. Now she was close to where the “ritual” was happening. She was still very far away from where the fire or the other students were, but if she looked around she could see where the groundskeeper set up the flowers and the food. But she did not notice, as her eyes were trained on the large fire as if it was magic.
A gentle breeze came by, bringing with it the smell of the burning wood and particles of charred matter.
Maria sneezed.
Her eyes watered and she coughed at the wall of smoke and burnt particles that came her way. Her throat burned as she tried to hack up the bitter flavor in her throat.
Truly magical indeed.
When she’d finally recovered, she finally had the sense to look around to see where she was. She saw students around chatting with one another, and the array of snacks and other things that enforced that it was indeed, a school event. If that was what you could call this. Several of them had shrubbery or greenery in their clothes and hair, one boy had leaves all over this shirt and another had a large crown of orchids on his head.
“Oh. She would softly murmur to herself. Finally she’d remembered what this was supposed to be.
She’d forgotten that the groundskeeper had organized for the welcoming of spring to happen on that day. In fact, if she hadn’t been outside, she likely would have missed it. Spring wasn’t necessarily her favorite season. Of course she liked it much more than the dry and cold winter, but with spring meant flowers, and allergies, and cleaning, and change. At least two of those things she was not too keen on (and it isn’t the flowers).
To add to that, it was a time of new beginnings but there was no start of something new for Maria. Not this year. There was no solace in the warming air or the trees that were slowly coming to life. There was only the continuation of all the things that hung over her head all year. Not much to be excited about. Hence, the prospect of welcoming a new season was lost on her.
A way’s off she could a figure fully covered in greenery, as if it emerged from a bog and came to walk amongst fresh earth for the night. Guessing from the size, she estimated it to be an adult. One could make two assumptions from this: (1) that it was an adult-sized sentient piece of shrubbery or (2) an adult who opted for the compost-bin yeti look. Judging from the foliage stuck to her peers, she thought it was safe to assume the latter.
Maria felt out of place now that she’d discovered what was happening, as her initial intent was not to come celebrate. However, her eyes scanned the faces of the people around and she saw them all talking and laughing with friends, simply enjoying the company of one another. These were people she was not too familiar with, and she would probably spend most of the night alone, but being in the presence of other people felt…nice. Truly she felt no need to celebrate the season but all the same she decided to enjoy the company of strangers even just for a little while.
Decision made, she approached the table and grabbed a few pieces of flowers and some materials to make herself a small crown with. As her hands absentmindedly assembled the accessory a brief memory of her and Aaron putting together Ms. Jensen’s flower surprise crossed her mind. She quickly shook it away.
In an effort to distract herself she scanned the area once more. A hint of red and a figure in a tree caught her eye. She squinted and approached.
It was a boy [Kazuo Shimada].
It was a boy she recognized to be one of those who got caught up in the recent descent of a malevolent entity in the Hufflepuff Common Room with her and several others. She did not remember much, but rare was it that she would forget a face. “Hello.” She would call up to him, stopping only a few feet away. How does one start a conversation with someone they’ve had a near-death experience with? “Find anything interesting up there?” Like that, apparently.

Henry started to thread a green vine into his version of a flower/vine crown as he conversed with Rhea. Upon hearing her comment, the twelve year old would smirk as he joked " kidding? Humor isn't particularly a strong suit of mine yet others seem to think I'm joking when I'm actually insulting them," giving the girl a quick smile before turning back to crown he was working on and continuing" that is a nice cape through," the next smile would be sincere.
Henry would be dramatically waving his arms around before stopping and smiling quote shyly when he heard her comment, no other emotion could be seen on his face as he spoke" thanks," before continuing as a joke mainly at least he hoped, " I appreciate you lying to spare my feelings," giving the girl a simple smile before taking off and continuing to add to the crown.
Out of the corner of his eyes Henry saw a familiar face; Carolyn Hunt and decided to give her a friendly nod with a smile before turning back to his flower crown and Rhea Miller.
As time went on and Henry looked up for a moment again, he saw that his feline; Loki seemed to have moved on from the first boy and now was fast approaching Rose Moon who was with Starlee Kennedy.
Henry would watch from the corner of his eyes as Loki would first greet Rose with his single meow but no purring before going over to Starlee and giving the girl a sniff followed by his approval meow before he started batting at her leg as his way to demand attention from the girl.
Henry didn't see at as his eyes moved toward a black haired Asian fellow by the name; Kazuo Shimada, the boy wasn't annoying or anything like that but he was competitive and seemed rather like a sore loser or winner for that matter still Henry didn't hate or disliked him but surprisingly enjoyed the lad's competitveing side.
Henry would move his eyes back toward Rhea and her cape as he placed the flower crown back on his head before speaking" so chess master are you going to dance around the bonfire in your cape once you finish?"
However that was when another gryffindor join them, Haley Rose.
" Hey Haley, it's nice to see you as well," Henry spoke with a smile before fixing the vine intertwined with flowers on top of his head as he continued" I'm fine and you?"

The warmth of the crackling bonfire was a lovely accent to the crisp springtime air of this highland eve. Dancing about, the light of the flames caused the shadows of each who grew nearer to its warmth to distort. This distortion created horrific shapes, which only managed to lend themselves spectacularly to the odd variety of misshapen earthly forms each attendee had began to don. This was a proper springtime festival, and Sylvain was glad to be out of the castle for once.
Edging his way through the crowd of students gathering near the supplies and snacks, Sylvain first made his way to beside the fire. Standing there, his eyes locked on the flames, he extended his hands to warm himself in its glow. As he stood, soaking in the heat of its coals and doing his best to avoid getting smoke in his eyes, he took in the events unfolding about him slowly as if to judge where he should start. Everywhere he looked, wonder and joy were seen and even though the cool air fought against him, their fire warmed him to the bone.
It wasn't often that a party or celebration was thrown directly on school grounds. In the year past, he recalled only a handful of birthdays (which were more like a gathering than actual parties) and then the school's more formal Balls. How awfully those had a tendency to go! The gatherings were usually safer, with those most inclined to leave gifts making an appearance early on, and those less inclined to eat cake leaving early, but the larger Balls by comparison never went without some sort of hitch. Thinking of cake was what tempted him to make his first decision.
Just as quickly as he had arrived, the lad snuck over to the tables filled with snacks. Firstly to have a gander at what natural bounty Eliseo had provided them with, secondly to partake. Nuts, berries, biscuits, and juice were plentiful. A handful of nuts went down the hatch as he washed the remainder of a biscuit down with cider. As he chewed, he thought more on the nature of nourishment, arriving to the conclusion that the Groundskeeper must've gathered these supplies himself. A truly marvelous collection of exactly the cornucopia expected, every bit worthy of thanks.
Satisfied by his ranging on the natural selection, Sylvain looked at the next step of the process. Garb. It seemed it would be necessary for him to blend in with the others, literally. Taking a swathe of loose fabric and some rope, he fashioned a net-like skeleton for which he needed to dangle a variety of foliage from in order to match his peer's efforts. Pine needles seemed to work best for him. A couple boughs worth of the stuff now poked its way out from every visible hole in the net as Sylvain worked on hanging pinecones from the rope itself. When finished, he turned back around to look at the others.
Still, he felt as if something was missing. He began to cross items off of his mental checklist. He had foraged for food, crafted his garments, and stood by the fire to let it all in. A brisk walk from the school down to the fireside had left him with little desire to take a hike, so that was a dead plan. Then, as if the background finally came into focus he remembered tonight's mission. He had come to make friends. Not just any friends though. He already had Flash and Willow to talk about his feelings with and their support further encouraged him to seek another kind of opportunity tonight.
Now, he wasn't just looking for any friends, but specifically the kind who liked to go out and have fun after their school work was done. It wasn't that he didn't have work to do, rather the contrary, he always had work to do, rather that he meant to be find others like him. Others who needed break from work. With no doubt in his mind, Flash preoccupied with his studies and Willow safe in her dorm doing homework, a normal night in most aspects, Sylvain stood proudly on his own. All alone.
Doing his best impression of a porcu-pine, Syl quietly shuffled his way over to the patch of dirt where two others had already began playing. The stuff practically coated them already and would likely be the final ingredient he mixed into his outfit. Without much of an introduction, Sylvain awkwardly waved to the two before asking their permission to join in on the fun. "If I could wrestle with you," He paused trying to think of a joke before an obvious one came to him. "I'd be happier than a pig." A very pointy pig too. He didn't know if they could see his face from behind the foliage, but that didn't mean his smile wasn't still there.

There had been a gnawing feeling recently within the young Hufflepuff. Rebekah tried as much as she could to be outside but the past week had spent a majority of time inside studying. So needless to say she was very much looking forward to this gathering. Not only did it involve fresh air but better yet, a bonfire! Back home she had enjoyed camping and vacations that ended in sharing laughs and smores by the warm glow of a fire so when she had come upon the group of fellow students and setup the groundskeeper had prepared she immediately set her focus on the crackling flames. That was until she noticed snacks-oh and a friend! Grant wasn't too far off so she gave the boy a wave and yelled his name to snag his attention.
"Heya!" Trotting over to where he stood, her smile turned more quizzical in nature at the stage his clothes were in. "Well, you look uh-" Pulling at the corner of her mouth she gave a slow nod of approval. "Festive!" Whatever theme he had been going for she believed he had achieved it. In fact it was as if the dirt was calling her name, seeing how her friend had covered his clothes. The disapproving tisk of her mother's voice tugged at the back of her mind. She hadn't been sure what to wear and wasn't one to dress up, not like the other girls anyway. Bekah never had felt a need to, not yet anyway... her mother always teased she simply hadn't blossomed yet. How appropriate for this very occasion. She had spent longer than usual picking out her outfit for the evening. Her time at Hogwarts had gotten her into a habit of enjoying wearing similar colors to her house. In fact she had fully embraced the yellow color, begging her mother to take her shopping over winter break so she could return prepared for this term to represent her badger pride. It felt almost the same way with her wearing jerseys and facepaint while attending sporting events except she found more pride in her house and housemates as time passed than she had in any team she supported up til now.
"Lotta people here already! Have you checked out the snacks yet?" Bekah's father swore the girl had a blackhole for a stomach. "Maybe you can help me with some of the leafy bits too?" Seeing as how Grant's outfit had turned out she looked at him as if he were an expect in trimmings.
