What Makes You Happy
Another simple day at the library, the perfect place to let your brain feel free from the horrible and anxiety provoking daily activities it had to go through, such as social interaction. Aldor always used the library as en excuse to stay outside of the dorms, avoiding his classmates at every chance he had, of course, this wasn't always the case.
Even if Aldor seemed like the weird quiet kid, the type that doesn't want to know anything about anyone, he was actually very kind and gentle, all of the avoiding students only happened because he was extremly shy and was unable to handle conversations in a normal way without feeling panic. Of course, there was a very small amount of people that Aldor actually liked to talk with so much that he searched for them at every chance he had, very close friends that he kept close to his heart.
Aldor sat down by one of the shelfs, opening the book he was carrying with him, it was about herbology, the boy had a very strange habit of reading absolutely everything that he could get his hands on, even if the topics seemed to be a little too advanced, he did his best to understand them and learn something new. Aldor truly was one of a kind.

Florence Ainsworth. A blonde little girl from Ravenclaw was also in the library this afternoon. She loved the library at Hogwarts, it was so big and it was all kinds of books to be found there. So much knowledge that waited to be found. It was so much bigger at the library back home that she was used to. But that was just a little library so it wasnt that weird to be honest. That this one at Hogwarts was bigger.
Florence had already decided what she wanted to read today. She wanted to read about psychology: It was a book that her dad just sent a few days ago. Beacuse she was a bit intrested in over how the human brain worked and why it worked as it did in diffrent kind of situations. When people for example had anxiety or a panic attack. Florence didnt have that problem herself more that she got a bit red in her face sometimes. But there were alot of diffrent people around Hogwarts that acted diffrent and Florence had became intrested why some people acted the way they did and someone another way around. So that was why she had sent her parents a letter a couple of weeks ago asking for a book and it needed to be about psychology. Her parents did never say no to her about buying a new book. Especially not her dad that shared the same intrest with her about books and knowledge.
When she was sitting in the library reading this afternoon. She suddenly saw a boy. It was a boy that was dressed in a school uniform just like her. But he had a yellow tie. And she had her blue one. She knew that, that meant he was in Huffelpuff. She remeberd the face from the sorting cermony. But she didnt know the name of the boy. She saw that the boy read some kind of book. And was trying to see what kind of book he was reading. She saw something green in one of the pages. Could it be some kind of book about vegetation or maybe it was about magical sort of vegetation. But that was called herbology here in the wizard world. She looked at the boy when he was reading. He looked very focused. She wonderd if the book was good. Then she put her face down to her book again. To make it look like she didnt stare. But there was something about the boy that made her look.

Aldor kept reading normally but from the corner of his eye he could see the stranger looking back at him a few times, he tried not to pay much attention to it, but it was easier to say than doing it. His green eyes went back and forth, staring at the page of the book and doing his best not to look towards her. He wasn't sure if he should greet her, or just remain silent and say nothing, but he couldn't hold the pressure anymore, maybe she wasn't even looking at him, but the possibilities didn't help him feel better.
He took a deep breath regaining his composture, slowly standing up as he did his best to remain calm, he was about to do something he would regret easily, but he just didn't care at this point, it was going away or saying something, so he had a hard time deciding. Soon enough he walked up to her, greeting her with a nervous smile.
''Hey there I-I am Aldor Humbleglow, I was uh- Wondering what you were reading and if you would mind if I sat here and joined you?'
He did not seem confident at all, you could see it through his emerald-like eyes, he was shaky and couldn't help but have an unusual breathing rythm. It was obvious he was having a hard time trying to talk to her, but at least he did his best trying, whatever happened now depended on the girl, there wasn't much that Aldor could do.

Florence looked back and fort towards the boy. It was something about him that made him intreesting. She couldnt really say what. But maybe that he seemed as intrested in books like she was. And that would be thee first time she would meet someone with that same intrest. If it wasnt for her dad then ofcourse. When she and him could sit for hours just reading. They often sat together up on the attic and read. Dad also had his office up there and was writing there on his novels that he would give out. And when Florence did have her homework or had her freetime. She sat up there with her dad and was doing schoolwork or reading. That was one of the best things she knew.
When she was suppose to look at the boy again. He was gone. Where could he have gone. She shaked her head a bit and was just going to look down to her book. When she saw thee blonde boy standing right infront of her. And he was talking. He introduced himself as Aldor Humbleglow and smiled against her with a quite nervous smile.
"Hello Mr Humbleglow!" She said and smiled and her face turned red. Why could she never sound more like a child then a professor from school. She tried again. "I mean, hello Aldor."
The last sentence she said sounded so much better than the first one. And she was quite happy that she had managed to say something that sounded a bit more normal. She heard the following sentence that Aldor asked her and she smiled back at him. "Im reading a book about psychology, im quite intrested in how people work and why they act the way they do in some situations. What make us react to diffrent kind of situations. And does the human brain have something to do with it". She answerd him with a polite smile and then glanced at the book she was holding.
"And you are more than welcome to sit here!" She said and showed a gestrue with her hands that the site beside her was free. She took a closer look at the book Aldor was holding in his hands. "And what are you reading Mr Humbleglow, Oh I mean Aldor.." She asked him and her face turned red again.

Aldor couldn't help but feel a little awkward as she called him ''Mr Humbleglow'', in reality nobody called him that, except for one of his aunt's friends, who always said it in a joking manner, but this girl honestly seemed to be calling him this because of politeness. He listened to her carefully, doing his best to remember what she just said.
Psychology, one of the things that the Irish boy was very interested in, but also very afraid of, he was the type of person that did not enjoy being examinated, people who were able to read him were the ones that he avoided the most, this type of people are ones that can help you better in some sittuations, but they are also people that can learn his weaknesses and exploit them against him, he was just being paranoic at this point, but he couldn't help but think this way.
Suddenly he snapped out of it, as she asked him what he was reading. He slowly sat down by her and opened the book slowly, being extremely gentle with the pages.
''Well- It is herbology, I'm currently exploring a bit about Mandrakes and their uses, just finished this other chapter about Dittany and it's healing properties, I'm really surprised, never thought simply eating it can heal a certain amount of wounds-''
Aldor's face went red as he realized that he sounded like an absolute bookworm, bur he couldn't help it, there really wasn't many thing that the boy enjoyed more than reading. Wherever there were books, that was Aldor's safe place, a bunker to hide away from the tiring activities of his day.

Florence smiled at the boy when he opend his book. She looked at the pages and all the pictures there were in it. She listen to what the boy said and nod her head. "Did you know that Dittany also can be used to cure wearwolf bites?". Then she stopped. Maybe that was something the boy wanted to say. And then she came there and destroyed all of it. She saw that the boys face went red. And she wondered why? Was it beacuse of her? Did she say something to make him feel embarrassed.
"U can mix it with a bit of silver. The dittany.. And will help the victim not to bleed to death. But it cant help the person from lycanthropy. Which is the phase that the werwolf has when its turning into the creature." Florence heard of what she said. Until a few months ago she thought that wearwolfs were only beasts in fantasy stories and movies. But they were real and very dangerous. She wondered what she would do if she happend to found a wearwolf someday. She would probably run for her life.
"Do you have a big intrest in books? Aldor?" She asked and tried to not sound like a know it all for the information that she had added to what they boy said. She was just trying to be gentle. But sometimes it could sound like Florence tried to brag about her knowledge. And that wasnt the case.

Aldor's face went red as she asked if he liked books, if she knew Aldor, this would've probably have sounded like a joke, books were one of the most sacred things to Aldor, just the way he held books showed it, unlike other students who would just turn the page in a quick or aggresive manner, the boy seemed to turn the pages with such a gentle touch that it looked like he was handling a relic worth millions of dollars. He truly had a deep respect for books and their contents, of course, not nearly as much as he had for his friends and family.
His closest friend at this point in time was a girl called Rose Moon, a wonderful and adorable Gryffindor from second year, she was really one of a kind. He also recalls a girl he met while moving to Hogwarts in the scarlet train, Tory Williamson, if his memory was correct, who also had a strong passion for books. In the end, Aldor hopes this girl is on that list of people that he trusted, but he realized, he hasn't even asked her name!
''Books- well, yes I love books, reading is probably my favorite thing, apart of spending time with friends that is, but yes, my interest in books is most likely impossible to quantify-''
He'd look back up at her, locking eyes with her for the first time, but quickly moving them away as he started feeling uncomfortable.

Florence smiled when she heard the boy answering with that he liked books. He even said that he had loved them. She liked the sound of that. They shared one intrest. Then he said somehing about spending time with friends. Florence smiled disapeard for a while. And she looked down at her own book again. What should she answer to that? I have never had any friends if you dont count my parents in? That would just sound ridicilous and weird. A twelve year old girl and she had never had any friends. She was really a disgrace when she thought about it.
She had always seen the books as her friends or the caracters in the boook. They never said anything mean about the way she was acting or the way she talked. They didnt judge her. And that was something she liked. "Books are really special, they are filled with facts and stories. And they never judge you!" That was all she said then she looked back at her book again. At that same moment when she looked at him, he took a look inside her eyes. And then turned his eyes away. It was first now that she saw that he boy had really beautiful eyes. But that was not something she could just say. That would be something she should keep for herself.
She turned the page in her book. And it was quiet for a while between the two students. Should she say something to get the conversation talking. But what should she ask? "So who is Mr Humblegrow?" She said with a pensive little smile. She now waited for the boy to tell who he was. And where he was from.

Aldor couldn't help but feel a little awkward as she mentioned how books never judge people, he wasn't that popular either, a very small group of people actually cared for him, and he had a lot of bad experiences with his classmates, to the point in which he preffers to hide away in the library than having to stand pure blooded wizards bothering him, fighting wasn't in his nature, and he always refused to take violence as an option, running away and finding shelter within books was his coping mechanism, like a rabbit, in the bottom of the food chain, with nothing to do against a threat but running.
He tried not to focus much on it, he couldn't just lock himself in his worries all the time, instead he tried to answer Florence's question on who he was.
''Just- a random Irish boy who loves reading, although, I never asked who you were and I am terribly sorry for it- Would you mind to tell me, who you are?''
Aldor recalls seeing her somewhere, it was surely at the time they were assigned houses, or maybe it was after and he saw her in the halls of the school, he was unsure, he had the strange habit of remembering faces, but he collected so many memories about them that he had a hard time remembering who was who.
