Aldor Humbleglow, a strange kid with an inmense passion for learning more about the world around him, but instead of being the kind of kid who goes on adventures, he was quiet and gentle, learning everything from books. The boy slowly searched for a place to sit down, It was hard for him to decide, social interaction was not exactly what he was looking for at the current moment in time, so he had a hard time finding a perfect spot. Aldor kept looking around, holding a book he had brought with him close to his chest.
After a few minutes of slowly searching, he managed to find a cabin with no people in it, he was feeling quite anxious, but at least, his natural ability to blend in with people had saved him from having to sit in one of the cabins that already had people in them. Even though Aldor was always a kind and even adorable kid, he had a hard time talking and interacting with others, his whole life he had simply talked with those he considered his family.
His aunt was always there for him, she had taken care of Aldor since he showed his first instance of magic, so to him, she was the only motherly figure he had. Now, the only thing he had to keep those good memories close were the letters she promised she would send weekly and one of the books she wrote about magical beasts. Aldor smilled quietly, as he sat down in silence.
Maybe sitting alone was a bad idea, this could be a long trip, and boredom plus loneliness was never a good thing, but he had taken a decision and now he had to work with what he had, so he would just wait, in hopes that the trip wasn't as long as he thought.

Her mother had gone to Beauxbatons, and her father had gone to Hogwarts, but he had died when she was 2. And now, herself, Tory Williamson, was going to Hogwarts. She couldn’t believe it, not really. Her mother had taught her everything she knew, but since she was a healer at St.Mungo’s hospital, she wasn’t around much. For 9 whole years of her life, Tory had just been alone with hundreds of books and her beloved black cat, Jammy. Day by day, month by month, year by year. But now, she was going to a real school, with actual people.
Maybe, she hoped, she would make a few friends. Unless they all laughed at her and thought she was weird and she just spent the next 7 years being sad and lonely. But she didn’t really like to think about that. Instead, she was focusing right now on finding a good seat in the train.
Tory wasn’t exactly the most extroverted, but she certainly didn’t want to spend the entire train ride to Hogwarts alone. And so, she walked down the hall of the scarlet red Hogwarts Express, looking for empty compartments.
All were filled, except for one, with a single ginger haired boy sitting in it, and so Tory politely opened the cabin door and walked inside, a smile small across her face as she sat across from him. “Er- hi. I’m Tory.”

Aldor turned to the girl, smilling nervously, he wasn't really sure on what to do, this was his second interaction with someone who was going to Hogwarts, the first wasn't very pleasant as the person who encountered him was a pureblood with the now unpopular state of mind in which muggle born wizards are not accepted by the magical society. Of course this was not always the case when talking to other kids, but after that experience he was feeling very broken and confused, if he had trouble trusting people before, this time around he might have a horrible time.
''Oh, I'm Maldor Tumbglow, I-I mean Aldor Humbleglow, uh-''
The boy was already in panic, so much that he couldn't help but stumble over his own words, now he definetely looked like the weird one in this sittuation, Aldor held the book he was carrying tightly, trying to think of how to even save this sittuation. But he had no ideas, the boy who had a ridiculously huge imagination couldn't handle a simple conversation.
He would look back up at the stranger, barely being able to make eye to eye contact, his emerald colored eyes showed how worried he actually was, he was all shaky and there was a period of time of about 4 minutes of silence after the last word he spoke. He had to do something, right? He couldn't just sit there without saying a word to her.
''So uh- Do you like to read?-''
And sadly, that was about as much as he could think currently.

''So uh- Do you like to read?-'' The boy, Tory had just learned his name was Aldor, asked and she nodded. “Very much, it’s my favorite thing to do. How about you?” She responded, eyeing the book that Aldor was clutching very tightly. Ah, I should have brought a book as well.. The dark-haired girl thought to herself, making a mental note to go to the Hogwarts library as soon as she could when she arrived.
“One of my favorites is The Tales of Beedle the Bard, although I haven’t read it in years heh...”She added on, but soon enough felt a wave of memory of when her mother had first read it to her at age 4. Saying goodbye to someone you’ve never truly left was extremely hard, she could say that for sure. She never cried. Never, ever, but now she wanted to, even though she’d only been on the train for 5 minutes now.
Even if her mother was at work so often, she still saw her lots, and being away from her until July would be...Tory didn’t really know. Sad? Good? Was it good to be away from your mother that long? She didn’t really know, she’d never been away from anybody that long, not once. She hadn’t even been near another child in; how long? 7 years?
It was weird to Tory that she had just introduced herself to Aldor, not the other way around. Either way, she was here now, and she was going to go to Hogwarts and enjoy herself and make friends even if it meant she would miss her beautiful cottage and wonderful mother and grumpy cat to death.

Aldor smiled quietly, it's good to find another person who enjoys books almost as much as he did, Aldor could lock himself in a room for days and read everything that was readable around him. Of course, this probably was related to the fact his aunt who raised him was a writer.
''Well- I really love reading too, I'm- the kind of kid who would preffer to stay inside reading in a sunny day instead of going out.''
Aldor would place the book he was carrying on his lap, as he felt a bit more safe, anyone who loved books that much surely can't be a bad person, right? The boy did his best to make eye contact with her, managing to look into her eyes a few times without feeling like he was unable to breath.
''That book is wonderful, I'm pretty sure Hogwarts should have a copy somewhere, my aunt told me their library is absolutely enormous. It shouldn't be hard to find something that interests you there, I found myself taking the challenge of reading as much of it as possible-''
Aldor would chuckle, blushing a little as he realized that he just laughed in an honest way in front of someone. He honestly didn't know how to feel about this sittuation, just a few minutes ago he was feeling really sad and nostalgic and now he was laughing with someone that loved books just like he did, maybe even more.
''Well you just- mentioned loving reading so, you probably won't want to spend the whole trip just looking outside the window, w-would you like to join me and read this for a bit?- It's not specially fun or interesting, but reading something new never hurt anybody, right?-''

''Well- I really love reading too, I'm- the kind of kid who would preffer to stay inside reading in a sunny day instead of going out.'' Aldor replied, and Tory already knew he was wise. She did indeed love the bright, flower filled meadows and gardens that surrounded her home, but she always very deeply liked the indoors. The fireplaces and bookshelves and the smell of pure comfort that filled her own home, and would probably fill Hogwarts as well, she really enjoyed that.
For the first time within this so far short conversation, Tory looked into the boy’s eyes. They were a pickled toad green, and reminded her of bright emeralds. He spoke again suddenly, “Well you just- mentioned loving reading so, you probably won't want to spend the whole trip just looking outside the window, w-would you like to join me and read this for a bit?- It's not specially fun or interesting, but reading something new never hurt anybody, right?-”
Tory set her attention on the book he was holding after this, and said, her mouth in a warm smile now, “Oh uh ok sure! What’s it about?” She asked, a bit awkwardly walking across the small compartment and sitting down next to him instead of across. Er - was that too bold of me? She thought, nervously sliding a few inches away so it wasn’t weird.

Aldor flinched a little as soon as she sat by him, he could feel goosebumps going through his body, other kids would probably not mind being so close to another person, but Aldor was different, he was very susceptible to physical contact, becoming anxious by the slightest sensation of someone else's skin. For the longest time he has avoided hugs from everyone except his aunt. And in very rare sittuations, he would accept a pat on the head from his aunt's friends.
Of course, Tory didn't know this, but she still did move away a few inches, probably to not make Aldor she was weird or something like that, whatever her intentions were, he was just reliefed she wasn't so close anymore, the boy couldn't help but let out a nervous smile, as if saying 'I'm fine'.
''Well- In reality it is just a book about dragons, my a- the writer really likes and decided to make an encyclopedia about them. It's quite interesting, well, I say that because I really like drag0ns too- My opinion isn't really valid in this sittuation.''
He would smile again as he opened the book a few pages away from the index, almost avoiding it, it was a page about the history of magic, and how dragons represent a destructive force and chaos in general, most people doesn't care about dragons or they are afraid of them, but Aldor would do anything just to be able to see one in person. When he still had no clue about magic, he loved dragons, toys and television were the source of entertainment for him in those times, as his parents weren't really there for him.
But when he showed his first magic, and his aunt decided to raise him, his love for dragons went even further, realizing they weren't fiction and learning that they were even more amazing than whatever muggles have made up.

Tory was now very pleased with her decision to not sit very closley next to ginger-haired Aldor, since he flashed her an anxious smile very clearly stating that moving was a good choice. Plus, she could just...tell. Aldor was not one to like contact. How she could tell? Tory didn't really know - she wasn't a pyschic or anything - but had always been able to read people like magazines, almost like scanning their emotions.
Not wanting him to think she was just going to let it it be silent in the compartment, Tory quickly responded to Aldor, "Ah, interesting. Dragons are trully neat creatures, aren't they? My favorites are the Hungarian Horntails, because their so vicious and strong, but I'd probably die in seconds if I ever came in actual contact with one, who's your favorite?". Deep inside was curious about what "my a-" meant, but right now wasn't really the time to just start intriguing personal questions.
Sometimes her curiousity got the better of Tory (which she really didn't want to happen right now), like when she kept bugging her mother last summer about going to swim in the large lake nearby her cottage, and her mother, wisely, had told her "absolutely not, that lake has gryndylows." And Tory, being her very stubborn self, had gone anyways, and swam peacefully around some seaweed for about 5 minutes before she got bombarded. Long story short, she ended up with 5 small scars on her knee alone, a bloody nose, a large gash across her thigh, and a very wrecked bathing suit.
Onwards, Tory wasn't a huge fan of dragons, but she said no lies in being honestly interested by them. And the history of them. Tory loved history. Everything about it, especially about how it always seemed to repeat itself. She was a girl of consistency, she was, and now she was looking down at the book. Aldor had opened it a few pages, and this one was on more common dragons.
She glared down and read to herself, her eyes skimming the paper.

Aldor's eyes widened as she told him about the Hungarian Horntails, most described this as the deadliest dragon in the world, this fact didn't make Aldor like them less, he knew that ever getting close to a dragon was already a stupid idea, but he didn't care, his wish would become real eventually or so he hoped.
''Horntails are the writer's favorite too, she always praises how they represent nature so perfectly, that behind all the violence and rage, there's just an animal with a will to live and with a strong instinct to defend what it owns, she describes it like a very motherly attitude, but well- My favorite type of dragon is actually the Antipodean Opaleye, it is just- very majestic and elegant, but also strong. Something about them just makes me feel very joyful and curious-''
He'd pause for a second, smilling softly as he looked back at her for a few seconds, he seems happy which was a little strange considering how sad he looked before she entered the cabin, there was something special about this boy, it was hard to determine what it was, but he wasn't like others.
''A lot of people are scared of dragons, but I think they are just misunderstood, they do what they can to survive but- People take them as a threat, don't we also hurt many things to survive? Like, animals to eat, insects that we consider pests and so on- I think it's unfair to judge magical being like that, even if they are a little dangerous.''

"Aren't we all like that? The bad guy is never really bad at their core. Nobody is. We're all just misunderstood, and most people can't see past the surface." She responded, looking deep into Aldor's emerald pool eyes.
"Quite sad, really..." She added quickly after, hastily looking back at the ground from Aldor's eyes. "It's always prejudice. Unfair, grimy, slimy prejudice." Her voice rose with anger as she spoke, and she glared out the window at the now steadily moving grassy hills and pulled her knees up to her chest. "The dragons, they didn't even do anything! It's our fault they go hostile! Their never that cruel in the wild, it's all because of us!" She exclaimed, her tone now loud and full of frusteration.
Taking a long, calming, deep breath, Tory looked back at the page that was opened on the dragon book, and after a short pause, apoligized for her temper. "Sorry for snapping, I just- it's so frusterating, isn't it? You understand, right?"
