Yes, No, Maybe?
Saturday: February 8, 2020
Andrew strolled hand-in-hand with Dan as they left the Slytherin Common Room. From the start, others could tell there was something peculiar about the way Andrew was staring at Dan, with that infatuated goofy grin plastered on his face. Even more surprising, the fact that Andrew was walking barefoot with Dan, raised more than a few eyebrows from those that so happened to glance at them passing by in the Castle hallways. Whispers and chuckles began rippling:
"Did you see that? Andrew Vance, with Dan Palmer. He doesn't have any shoes on."
"Like true friends, I suppose."
"Friends? Are you blind? Clearly they're together."
Andrew, in his love potion-induced trance, didn't pay heed to the odd looks he was receiving. His mind and gaze were entirely fixated on Dan. He didn't know why being beside Dan made him so happy, but he didn't want this feeling to end.
Eventually, the two boys made their way onto the Grounds. It was a crisp afternoon. Birds warbled and fountains gurgled. But Andrew didn't register the chill or the ambiance, only the warmth of Dan's hand and the sound of Dan's voice. His bare feet padded along the smooth stone pathways of courtyards and bridges, across trimmed green lawns kept neatly manicured by the House-elf gardeners. Normal-Andrew would have paid more attention to where his feet were stepping, but zombie-Andrew would have walked across a bed of flaming coals if it meant reaching Dan on the other side.

Yes, No, Maybe?
Dan rested his head against Andy. They walked like this together often, but this time was different. Andy was barefoot for one thing. And also this time, they were there on a romantic date. The romantic date with Andy that Dan had wanted since the first year he came to Hogwarts. This was exactly what he needed after Oswald vanished.
He also had a fun little sinister plan. He had recently learned one of Andy's biggest weaknesses. And he was going to have some mad fun with it.
He stopped walking, and turned to Andy, and gently moved Andy's head to face him.
"Andy"
Dan gently caressed the top of Andy's bare foot with his own.
"Do you wanna walk through the grass? I sure do."
He knew Andy would do whatever Dan wanted. And this would be the first step to having something else he'd been wanting to do with Andy, but was too shy and embarrassed to ask him to do. Now though, Andy would do anything he wanted without questions. If he told Andy to take off his shirt and dance on the table in the Great Hall at dinner, he would.
Actually.... That was a pretty good idea....

Yes, No, Maybe?
Dan's head rested against his shoulder as they strolled along, and Andrew happily provided the bulwark support. He was the big, strong tree for Dan to lean on. Even though it was (or ought to be) the opposite. Physically, anyway. Dan was the athletic one, training every day at Quidditch (except today, of course), having the most muscle to gain between the two boys. Surprising a 'tough' Captain like him would be so cuddly and emotionally sensitive. A trait that could be a bit…awkward and too close for Andrew's comfort on most days, but on today of all days, it was particularly endearing, and nothing about the intimateness of it registered at all in his brain. Nada.
Then they paused. A glimmer of Andrew's old self resisting the power of the love spell as he stood still, gazing at the Scottish mountains, though given his and Dan's shared appreciation of nature, both of them were likely equally mesmerized by the view.
Until he felt Dan's hands on either side of his face... peeling Andrew's eyes away as his head was turned to face Dan's, staring into those emerald greens.
A walk through the grass? Well, duh, what wouldn't Andrew give for a romp around the fields on any other day?
"Yeah! C'mon, mate."
He wouldn't wait for Dan to take the lead, freeing himself of Dan's grasp and started out across the lawn, laughing as he picked up stride, sprinting down the slopes that led to the shimmering Lake in the distance. The ultimate draw for Dan to run after him, to reunite their hands together once more.
Against an athlete like Dan, it was hardly a fair chase as to who could outrun the other for long.
Caught up in a dream state, his reckless speed was likely to faceplant him into the hills first, before Dan could catch up.
