It seemed another errand had popped up at Hogwarts, and this one sounded like a fun one. The Grounds Keeper had what seemed like a mountain of flobberworms and he wanted the students to take care of them while he put together an enclosure for them. It seemed easy enough, simply swaddle the little flobberworm like a baby and keep it preoccupied and warm. Starlee was also excited because this seemed like a great way to get some early Care of Magical Creatures class experience in, so she jumped at the opportunity.

When she arrived, she ran into Everly, with whom she had done the previous errand. She seemed nice and, after watching that insane duel she had against Ravenclaw, she was eager to get to know someone who was that good a dueling. I mean, she was almost a dodging queen!

The two decided they would take their flobberworm's somewhere quiet and they agreed that the trophy room would be the perfect place for them. Of course, the idea of slime getting all over all the trophies was certainly not on Starlee's mind.

They arrived and Starlee began looking around the room, her mouth agape and her swaddled flobberworm tucked safely in her arms. She had never actually spent more than a few minutes in the room, and she ended up setting her flobberworm on the ground to take a closer look at one of the large glittering trophies.

"Whoa, this thing is huge!" she exclaimed aloud. "Looks like it was for some quidditch win... whooa." Starlee's eyes then flashed onto another wonderous looking trophy. She was almost like a niffler, her eyes continuously flittering around between all the shiny trophies. She didn't even realize that her flobberworm on the ground was now attempting to free itself from its swaddled wraps.

Starlee Kennedy. The Slytherin girl seemed nice at their first, and possibly last, encounter, but Everly saw her again soon enough, and here she was, doing another errand with the girl. This errand seemed intriguing, at the least. The students seemed to be taking care of flobberworms for a day. While Everly had never really had any encounters with such a creature before, she still thought she knew quite a bit about them, and honestly, they seemed kind of... boring, to her, at least. Starlee seemed to enjoy it, on the other hand. Everly didn't have that big of an opinion on flobberworms, but she supposed she needed the house points, so here she was.

The flobberworm, safely tucked in its wraps, was moving quite slowly. Everly adjusted her arms, trying to avoid getting slime over herself and the trophies. When Starlee suggested to bring the flobberworms to the Trophy Room for the remainder of their time, Everly had no objections, so there they went. Now that she was here, Everly had an inkling that she would be spending quite a lot of time keeping an eye on her flobberworm to avoid spreading the slime everywhere. At least, it wasn't worth a detention.

Starlee and her made two, but for the errand, the group required three. And so May Moonstar filled that last spot. The second-year Hufflepuff wasn't one that Everly recognized or was familiar with, but Everly hoped that she would be nice enough. Everly and Starlee had bumped into May after they had been given errand instructions, and so she, May, and Starlee were a group now, and they were headed up to the Trophy Room.

Looking up, Everly spotted Starlee flitting around, fawning over the trophies. Starlee's flobberworm seemed in much more of a hurry than her own flobberworm, wrestling (slowly) with its wraps as it struggled to get free. Shifting her flobberworm in her arm, Everly called out, "Starlee! Your flobberworm!" Quickly Everly scooped the flobberworm up in her other arm, shifting the two until she found a comfortable position for the two.

Finally settled, Everly found Starlee again, then held the two flobberworms. She intended to give Starlee back her flobberworm, but now she couldn't tell the two apart. "Um..." Everly said, the hesitation evident in her voice. "Urgh, now I have to play this guessing game," she mumbled under her breath, annoying. Wrinkling her nose, she decided that the flobberworm with more slime was Starlee's, so she held out the flobberworm towards the girl, expectant.

Everly's flobberworm was now safely tucked in her arm, and she reminded herself again to keep an eye on the little creature as she began to accompany Starlee in observing the trophies. She brushed a hand over the trophy entitling a Hogwarts Student's Special Services to the school.

Oooooops.

That was a mistake.

The flobberworm's behind seemed to be drooping, and Everly didn't notice the slime that had found its way onto the golden trophy until she felt it, brushing her hand across the surface, cringing as her hand met the gooey, slimey substance.

Oh dear.

"Starlee!" Everly called, panicking. Surely she hadn't been this careless? "May! Ugh, come on," she muttered, rubbing the trophy's surface with the arm of her robe, only making the damage worse. The slime seemed to be spreading faster, and Everly visibly shrunk at the sight of the greenish, gooey liquid all over the trophy. "Now what?" she mumbled, frazzled.

A new girl had decided to join the two on their little flobberworm adventure, someone that Starlee had never met; an older girl named May. The girl looked sweet, but Starlee knew after an interaction with a certain someone, that looks could be deceiving. Their walk to the trophy room was pleasant, however, and Starlee was definitely excited to spend some time looking at all the shiny things.

Her Flobberworm was in the process of attempting to free itself, when Everly swooped down and scooped the little one up, readjusting it in its wrapping. Starlee turned around to the girl and put her hand behind her head, saying a meek "Sorry..." rather sheepishly. Of course, she missed what hand Everly's original flobberworm was in, so she too had no idea which one was originally 'hers.' In any case, she decided that it didn't really matter. It was just a flobberworm after all, and while Starlee may have picked out the most excitable one of the bunch, well as excitable as a flobberworm could be, in the end all that mattered was that the same amount of flobberworms were returned as had been taken.

Again, Starlee smiled sheepishly as Everly contemplated which one was which. She watched the girl scrunch up her nose in thought, and handed over a flobberworm without saying a word. Starlee took it, also figuring that the amount of slime on it probably had something to do with its escape attempt and she now began to regret taking the most wiggly one of the bunch.

The two then returned to looking at the trophies, this time with her flobberworm fully in her grasp. There was one particular trophy that seemed to catch their eyes, so much so that Everly decided to touch it. Perhaps not the best idea when carrying around a bunch of slimy flobberworms.

Starlee watched as the other first-year attempted to wipe off the slime with the arm of her robe and the slime just smearing across the whole thing. Everly began panicking, calling to the two others for help. In the panic, Starlee set her flobberworm down again, grabbed one of the handles of the trophy, and spit on it, hoping the old 'spit shine' trick would work... which... of course, it didn't because of her extra slimy flobberworm, even more mucus began to spread itself over the trophy.

Starlee had had enough of this slimy trophy mess. Before anyone else could do anything to try and fix it logically, she looked around fervently for a place to stash the trophy. No one would know if they couldn't find it... right?

She spotted the fireplace on the opposite side of the door. 'Perfect.' She ran over to it, trophy in hand, and threw it into the fireplace looking satisfied with herself. Surely it would just melt and then this whole ordeal would be over. Starlee returned to her flobberworm on the ground, who was, again, trying to break free, and smiled at Everly and May. "Well that worked out okay!" she said, unaware of the now strange colored smoke that was emanating from the fireplace.

Whoops.

Starlee reacted quickly to Everly's yelp, attempting to clean the trophy but just like Everly, trying and failing. The girl seemed to complement her choices there, and Everly felt guilty for the decision to bring the flobberworms to the trophy room and ruining all the trophies in the room. They were probably going to get in trouble for that, but there seemed to be no going back. Starlee looked around, and Everly started to get an inkling that they were about to do something very illogical and stupid. Why was she looking around? For somewhere to hide and never show their faces again because of this mess?

"Starlee, wai -" Everly began, holding a hand out, about to stop her and try to do something that actually made sense, but the girl grabbed the trophy and threw it in the fireplace, which was slowly burning the trophy up. Everly stood, watching the mess dumbfoundedly, mouth open. She needed at least five minutes to process what just happened.

Some may call Everly a strict rule-follower, but she never really saw any helpful use to breaking the rules. Unless it was for a large, bigger purpose, there was no big reason to break the rules. That weird color that was emitted from the trophy that was burning? Nope.

Tearing through her hair with her hand, Everly muttered under her breath. She knew that this wasn't entirely Starlee's fault (it was sort of hers too?) but as much as she didn't want to admit that it was partly her fault, Starlee didn't deserve any of the backlash. "The fire.." Everly squinted. "Is that fire turning red?"

It seemed that their third partner, May, had somehow gotten herself distracted or somehow lost, as she never made it to the trophy room with the pair. It was now just Everly and Starlee, their flobberworms, and a trophy in the fireplace.

Things were spiraling out of control, and fast. Everly had attempted to stop her from throwing the trophy in, but she was too late. While Starlee felt perfectly satisfied with how that had worked, it seemed that Everly was not quite as happy about Starlee's trophy goo cover-up plan, as when she looked at her, he face was filled with shock as she ran her hand through her hair in a contemplating manner.

Of course, nothing could go smoothly for her ever it seemed, and Everly made note of the strange color change of the fireplace. Perhaps it was the flobberworm goo? Or just the metal of the trophy, very slowly boiling into nothing? Well, no matter what the reason, it was certainly a problem. What if it was toxic?

Starlee sighed and set her flobberworm back down on the ground again for what felt like the hundredth time. She pulled out her wand, and, as confidently as she could, yelled "Extinguo!" at the burning fireplace. As per usual, nothing happened. Her stupid wand wouldn't work for her in the first errand they had attempted together, so why on earth would it work this time? She really needed a new wand or something.

She looked over to Everly and said, "Can... can you do it..." rather quietly, as she retrieved her little bundled flobberworm again from the floor.

Ack. Ack. Ack.

Everly had no idea what to do in a situation like this. Did they want to alert an adult or not? Everly did not want owe to her first detention to the flobberworms. Starlee seemed to be on her feet and reacted quicker than Everly did, pulling her wand out and casting Extinguo at the burning trophy. The spell had no effect. Everly didn't know if this was due to the spell backfiring or just because a burning trophy couldn't be put out. Just to test this, Everly raised her wand.

"Extinguo!" She yelled, pointing the wand at the fire as it started to grow, concentrating with all her might.

Nothing happened.

Hesitant, she reached out a finger, almost to touch the fire, to see what kind of effects it would have, but quickly retracted, reminding herself that she didn't know what was in it - which was exactly what she needed to know. "Extinguo doesn't seem to work on the fire," Everly told Starlee, scooting back the slightest away from the fire.

Mesmerized, Everly moved a safe distance away from fire, feeling the warmth whenever she moved forward. The fire didn't seem to emitting smoke, so was that good? It did seem to be getting bigger, though, and much more threatening.

Until her hand met some slime did she remember about her flobberworm. Starlee's flobberworm was safe in her arms, so that was good. Everly searched the shelf of trophies and the floor under it until she found the slimy creature. Everly had never been so relieved to see a safe flobberworm. Wrapping the creature up in her arms, she hurried back over to Starlee. "Are you alright?"

[font="Monotype Corsiva"]Quinn was going about his patrols as per usual. Wasn't too terribly late and the general routine of it provided him with some relative calm and relaxation. As odd as it might sound that Quinn very much needed especially now. The Half-Giant was fortunate to have generally no issues when it came to his patrols most behaved on his route, but that wasn't always the case. As was the current situation.

Quinn was passing by the trophy room when he heard a bit of a ruckus which was strange as this ruckus seemed more panic from what he could tell. He debated going in he almost wanted to ignore it but Quinn was never one to shirk his duties and he wasn't going to make a habit of that now. So he took his large lumbering form inside the trophy room, and boy was he glad he did."What in de 'ell is goin ahn 'ere? And are dahse flahbberwahrms?!?"

Quinn was met with three girls in the trophy room. On one hand there was a girl near a fireplace it seemed holding one of the oddly cute buggers. On the other hand there was what looked to be a trophy in the fire and it was covered in. He squinted his eyes walking closer to get a better look. Was that slime?? He looked to the worms and then the three girls in question with a mostly confused expression on his face. He didn't even know what to think and quite frankly if it wasn't so funny and fairly harmless to some extent he'd be in a worse mood. The boy giant somehow managed to hold back his laughter keeping up his expressions.

He folded his arms and then raised a brow looking down at the students. Quinn was a towering monster of boy being well over 8 feet and halfway to 9 by this point. His beard and wild hair making his freckled face look even older then he actually was. "Alright i wahn't frahnt I 'ave no idea what's goin ahn, boeht frahm what i'm nahticin it doesn't seem like any o' dis was intentional. Now can sahmeone please explain to me what's goin ahn?" Quinn decided it was better to start with less words and let them come to their own conclusions though he already knew what he would do. Glancing around at the minor mayhem and somehow avoiding what he hoped to god was just slime/mucus.

[reducio]A roll was made to determine if your rule-breaking was caught. Specifically these rules:

8. Magic should only be used in relation to studies and extra-curricular activities or with permission.
17. No damage to school property.

Now normally a detention would be given for something like this. However given how events unfolded and the honest to good intentions behind the unfortunate aftermath a warning is being given instead. This is your only warning and next time it could be something more.

Starlee watched in horror as Everly's attempt at an Extinguo didn't work as well. What on earth were they going to do? She stood there, just staring at the trophy in the fireplace; burning and possibly melting. Everly ran off to retrieve her flobberworm again, and she proceeded to ask if she was alright. "Well... if Extinguo won't work... I'm not sure what to do... but other than that... yea... I'm fine..." she told the other first year in a clearly unhappy tone. She didn't want to get in trouble for this... well... It was kinda-maybe-partially-a-lot her fault...

Not a moment later, someone else interjected, and Starlee jumped and squeaked in surprise at the newcomer. "What in de 'ell is goin ahn 'ere? And are dahse flahbberwahrms?!?" Starlee turned to see a huge 8 foot tall... student!?! staring down at the pair. Starlee was almost half his size, and she struggled to look him in the face from all the way down where she was. She watched as he assessed the situation, staring between them and at the trophy burning away in the fireplace. When he folded his arms, she slowly scooted herself towards the fire, hoping for a faster way to run if needed. It seemed that running wouldn't be needed, as the other student just seemed to be asking what happened. Perhaps, maybe, he could help?

"Well... Uh... we wanted to find a secluded place to watch our flobberworms for Mister Eliseo... and... well..." she paused, probably for a bit too long as she thought of the best way to explain their predicament. "So my flobberworm is like, reeeaaallllyyy mucusy, and it got on Everly, and when she went to admire a trophy... well... some of the slime got on it. And then we tried rubbing it off everyway we could... but... uh... it didn't work and well... this was my attempt to hide the evidence..." Starlee stretched her neck back to look up at the tall student, and smiled sheepishly at him. "And now the fire is getting huge and we can't get the trophy out... my spellcasting isn't so great..." she added, looking down at her feet, chagrined.

She felt that telling the truth here was really the best option. It's not like they were burning trophies on purpose... although she did wish she hadn't acted quite so impulsively earlier.

"So... uh... could you maybe help us?" she asked the giant student.

[font="Monotype Corsiva"]Quinn got down on one knee so the student wouldn't need to praactically yell or crane her neck up at him. As he listened he kept a neutral expression the whole time. For if he didn't he was afraid he'd make an expression that'd either make the girl fall on the floor in laughter or scare the poor lass. He couldn't have that. Was enough that some of his friends were scared of him as is. He barely kept it together managing to only crack a small smile. i dahn't know what's foehnnier. de fact you dooehght it was a good idea to throw a slime cahvered trahphy into a boehrnin flame. ahr dat you brooehght flahbberwahrms to a room foehll o' shiny, pahleshed trahphies.

Sighing heavily Quinn ran a massive hand through his mess of curls. His exasperation turned into amusement and warm, smile came across his lips. He looked at the fire then back to her. "well let's get dis mess sahrted. you're 'elpin wit clean oehp by de way. now den...let's 'ahpe it's naht too bad." He let a small chuckle escape. Pulling out his wand from inside his robe. He stood up to fully height careful of Starlee as he moved around the girl. With a carefulness that betrayed his massive size.

Walking up to the fire in question he pointed his wand directly at it taking the practiced hand position and performing the wand movement, "Extinguo!" There was almost no delay as not light but something came out of the wand in a wide wave to put out the quickly growing out of control fire. Dousing and snuffing it out completely as the Half-Giant with clear practice and focus waited for it to be put out. He stared at the slightly charred and steaming trophy now, sighing as it appeared to be still covered in some of that now mostly dried mucus/slime.

He turned his head to look back at the girls, and the mess around them. "well dat's one crisis averted. now it's time to cahrral all dese slimy boehggers and clean oehp dis mess. be loehcky, i'm naht one to punesh oehnnecessarily joehst prahmise to be carefoehl next time." He chuckled once again turning around fully to look at the girls.

It wasn't his loud voice, or his very very tall structure, or how intimidating he was that made Everly scared.

Nope. Not at all.

It was the fact that she had been caught.

Or... whatever it was that described whatever was going on. She wasn't doing anything wrong, so she couldn't have been caught, right?

That was a thinking session for later. Right now, Everly had other matters to focus on.

"What in de 'ell is goin ahn 'ere? And are dahse flahbberwahrms?!?" was the exclamation that made her jump and squeak out, "Um, yes, they are flobberworms! At least, if you're talking about the flobberworms. If you're not -" shutting up now, she reminded herself as she let Starlee do the rest of the explaining.

Once Starlee finished explaining, Everly watched his face intently. She really really didn't want to get in trouble. "Wellll -" Everly said, prepared to explain logically, realizing that she was stumped. Why did they bring flobberworms to the trophy room anyways?

She watched as the fire was quickly put out. Everly wrinkled her nose, having not realized the smell that had started to grow immensely. "Thanks... and I'll remember! I'll try to be careful!" she said with a hopeful grin.
