Eleanor Locklear | First Year| Gryffindor

Eleanor is a cheerful, brave and adventurous child with a lot of energy. She always puts others before herself and has a tendency of over thinking things for the good of other people, leading her to do things so that they won't worry including keeping secrets or hiding her true feelings and often forgetting about taking care of herself.

Elena, although generally nice can get mad like anyone can. She would bottle up her feelings and become quiet, the only hints some might get of her anger are subtle, such as a lot of staring and slight body movements and snarky comments and it isn't long before she lashes out. Elena isn't afraid to lie if it would mean that her fellow kids would be safe, sometimes recklessly putting herself in danger. She can come off as clingy to those she likes, as she's always around them and caring for them to the point of being a bit annoying and sometimes worries about things that don't concern her and sticks her nose into other's business. While her reasons might be good, it tends to be annoying to others.

Elena is a chatty kid and loves to converse with other people and has a lot of curiosity, sometimes asking the whys whats and whos of a thing and dedicating herself to investigate if if piques her curiosity. She prefers to multitask and doesn't focus on one specific thing for a while which leads her to be mostly jack of all trades and master of none in that situation. She has extreme determination though and combined with her stubnorness, love for adventure, bravery and curiosity has led her into all kinds of situations. While she mostly laughs in the face of danger, she has abandonment issues and despises people that leave others, no matter what the reason. She takes bonds seriously as other people she cares about are very valuable and won't stand for betrayal. Despite being overtly friendly, she does have a snarky side to her, sometimes adding witty and sarcastic comments to the situations she's in and to people that deserve it.

Eleanor was born to a muggle family, the Douglases, as an only child to a single father, Richard as her mother died during childbirth. Her father often travelled for work-related things and took his daughter with her, developing her love of exploring and adventure. One particular stop for work was in Brazil, where Elena met her best friend, Bertille Silva. They would both wander around their neighbourhood, pretending to be explorers searching for treasure and such, Bertille became like a sister to her. On her last day in Brazil, the two promised to see eachother again in England. While Elena always loved travelling, it was always hard to say goodbye to the friends she had made. After a few years of constantly travelling, the pair settled in their home country in Liverpool where her father remarried to Daisy Patterson and partly became the reason why they stayed in Liverpool instead of travelling around a lot. Elena and her new mother hit off and got along just great, both of them lovers of adventure. Daisy would teach her some mapping techniques and such and they all went on multiple vacations. Life was going just great.

That is, until her father walked out at age 9. She didn't know why, she would never know. Eleanor had woken up to the sound of arguments and went downstairs. They had been arguing constantly recently but she didn't know why. When she asked, there was never a clear answer. Her dad simply walked towards her and told her to go to bed, which she tried but the thoughts rushing through her head weren't helping. Her dad eventually came to her room, gave her a kiss and told her that he loved her very much, leaving her with his golden pocket-watch, with a compass instead of a watch before leaving out the door. Elena simply waited for him, thinking he had gone on a business trip without her. Daisy hugged her tight and whispered as she cried

"Daddo isn't coming back"

Those words alone left a hole in her daughter's heart. She thought it was her fault, maybe she did something wrong? She felt extreme guilt. The house felt a lot emptier. For a while, Eleanor wasn't herself. She didn't leave the house for a long while and furiously sketched maps of the world, trying to guess where her father was.

One day, Daisy told her to pack her bags because they were going on a trip. Elena felt a mixture of emotions since her last trip had been with her dad but decided to comply anyways. She always loved trips. This was a trip she wouldn't forget for a long time. Why?

Because that would be her last trip with Daisy.

They parked infront of a house, next to a barn. Daisy presented the owners some papers, signed a few things and left. These people, the Locklears, were distant family of Daisy's and she had just been adopted by them.

The Locklears were a big family, consisting of Mr. and Mrs Locklear, her new brothers Ralph, James and Jack and her sisters Silvia and Mia. It was strange for a while, being left with complete strangers. Elena harboured a deep dislike for Daisy for leaving her like that and was enclosed on the farm. Silvia, her adoptive older sister, helped her out of her sadness. Taking her out to see the barn and explore, chatting, Sylvia was the gentle, caring older sister she never had even though she wasn't always there. Elena became more and more like herself. It took a while but she accepted the Locklears as her family soon enough. Leonor was told everything about the Wizarding World a year after she got adopted. The Locklear was a muggle family but Sylvia was a witch and so she told Elena most of the things she learned at school and made her promise not to tell anyone else.

She knew something was up when Sylvia came back from school one day, after almost a year of absence, with a piece of paper in hand. The paper wasnt Sil's report card but was meant for her. Was it from her dad? Maybe Daisy? An apology? As the girl read over the letter and saw her family look expectant, her shocked expression turned that into happiness and said:

"I'm going to Hogwarts!"
