A Romantic Symphony
It was really late at night and Rianeira knew she shouldn't be walking down the halls. But her restlessness made her get up and explore late at night, the full moon dancing on the large windows. The aura was peaceful and serene; it reminded her of every romance novel she ever read.
Always in the moonlight, always dancing, always by a river, or some other cliche.
Unfortunately, that was a "love at first sight" sorta thing. She wasn't a believer of love at first sight, mostly because she was part-veela. Her mother was, and her grandmother, and her mother's side of the family were all a descendant of the most "captivating creatures" in all of the magical world. She was basically a human-creature example of judging a book by its cover.
Great.
And yet today was a promising night of exploration and discovery. She walked in her plaid pajama pants and a shirt a bit too big on her and it hung off her shoulder, and a strap of her bralette showed. She put on her bright red flats and they shone a little in the soft light.
She later found an elegantly designed door with a large gold colored handle. Curious and intrigued, she stepped forward and looked up at the large entry. After she opened it (with some difficulty), Rianeira gaped at the sight before her. It was a massive ballroom, with beautiful designs and intricately detailed wallpaper and had a gold lining to every little bit.
She was captivated by the sight and smiled brightly. She could dance, she could sing (quietly, she would have to remind herself) and enjoy it. She spun around and sang her favorite song as silently as possible and heard the acoustics of the room and oriented herself accordingly.

I’ve been hearing symphonies
Before all I heard was silence
A rhapsody for you and me
And every melody is timeless
Life was stringing me along
Then you came and you cut me loose
Was solo singing on my own
Now I can’t find the key without you--
Before all I heard was silence
A rhapsody for you and me
And every melody is timeless
Life was stringing me along
Then you came and you cut me loose
Was solo singing on my own
Now I can’t find the key without you--
Don't love someone who loves your appearance. As you grow old, their love will grow old.

A Romantic Symphony
As per usual, Ami couldn't sleep. Sleep insomnia, the doctors had said. But without the daytime drowsiness. Ami called bull, though, and just blamed it on terrible sleeping habits. Late to bed and early to rise, she needed only three hours of sleep in order to feel well rested.
Bored out of her mind (she'd already marked up all her music, and finished most of her books), she'd left the Hufflepuff dormitories and common room, and opted to go exploring. While walking past this particular hallway, she'd heard soft singing- an American song she recognized, and in fact, had played at one point. She decided to stay and listen, although it now seemed rather creepy and stalker-ish.
"You're off," Ami said flatly, watching the twirling girl with an amused smile. She was standing in the doorway, the light angling so only her thin, lean silhouette was visible. Her long, loosely hanging grey cardigan was wrapped tightly around her shoulders and waist, her hair was still in bed-head mode, and her feet were bare. "I'm really, really sorry, and this is gonna sound really rude, but your C4 is slightly sharp." She tapped her ear self-consciously, lowering her voice. "Perfect pitch. One day a blessing, one day a curse. You're very good, though."
She stepped forward, and in a low, husky voice that you usually don't hear on eleven-year-olds, she started to sing, surprising herself.
Ami stopped herself before she could embarrass herself even further than she already had. "Symphony. Clean Bandit and Zara Larsson. I like the lyrics and chord progression, but they chose the wrong instruments, in my not-all-that-humble opinion."

And now your song is on repeat
And I’m dancin' on to your heartbeat
And when you’re gone, I feel incomplete
So if you want the truth...

And when you’re gone, I feel incomplete
So if you want the truth...
