Now that Freya Thomas had accepted her destiny as a bird-hero, she was always looking for ways to save the day. It had been exactly two days since her transformation, and with each minute that she grew more comfortable in her identity, her steps lightened, almost as though she was soaring with a newfound confidence.

The only issue with this lightness was that Freya was so preoccupied with her thoughts and how best to save Hogwarts and all of its inhabitants that she was missing everything that she could potentially insert herself into. Preteen and teenage humans frequently got into scuffles and misunderstandings, and it would not take a normal solver much effort to find a problem to handle. Yet, Freya was not necessarily 'normal' (whatever that meant). Given her newfound status, she was superb. Just because one views themselves as superb does not mean that they are perfect, however, and Freya's imperfections were pronounced in how unable she was to see what was right in front of her.

Freya found herself wandering the corridors for the third consecutive day, lost in thought but pacing frantically, as though she was going to miss something incredible if she did not move just a bit faster. She quickly decided to make her way downward, toward the Slytherin common room, where she presumed there'd be a bit of dramatics. The first floor was...a bit dry, to be honest; perhaps some liquid venom would be seeping down below, and she could mop it up with her plung-

Oh no. She'd forgotten her plunger, the one thing that every superhero-bird needed in order to truly solve issues. Freya wasn't a very big girl, only average-sized, and she would need something terrifying yet practical if she wanted to break up a fight between two seventh-years or unclog a toilet. Picking up her already-fast pace, Freya was close to a run of panic, and nothing could stop her from her goals except...

A collision.

After her time of speedwalking, Freya's pace dramatically stopped as she collided backward and landed on her butt. A small snort of laughter and pain emitted from her mouth as she looked toward the person who had (hopefully temporarily) distracted her from her super mission.

@Freya Thomas

Everybody knew Hogwarts was dangerous...

Magic could do just anything, and that meant lots of things that could hurt you. Not all of the teachers were nice, there were staircases that moved while you were walking on them, there were balls that ended in horrible frightening disaster, and then there was Peeves

But if that wasn't bad enough, sometimes not even walking in the HALL was safe.

Jake was walking down the hall on his way back from the study room, where he'd been working on an essay for history of magic that was so long it had made his hand start hurting. He could draw for hours when he got lost in it, but sometimes when he was writing he just had to stop.

But if only he had taken a little more time to write about the history of runes in magic, or a little less time, maybe he wouldn't have been in the wrong place at the wrong time like he was today.

Because as he walked down the hall, reading about the latest illustrated adventures of Nelly the Niffler, he barely heard the footsteps that were approaching. There were always footsteps in the hall and usually they went around him. He'd used to be on his guard in the halls...terrified of running into somebody like the Gryffindor quidditch player who had once terrorized him. It had been a long time since he'd been bullied in the halls. Maybe if he had he'd have been looking where he was going...

Suddenly the wind left his chest, and the floor left his feet, and the next thing he knew he crashed down on the ground.

"Owwwwww..."Jake moaned, as he landed straight down on his bottom, and looked up. A girl, the one who crashed into him, was sitting on the ground in front of him. The two students had collided, thud, and both of them had fallen. The boy's eyes watered, as a lump came to his throat. "That hurt...." he whined, sniffling.
