Outdoors Club Meet 1Only a couple of minutes after she herself arrived, another girl joined them. "Hi!" Gia replied with a smile in return. Noticing that the girl had brought a camera with her, the first year tilted her head slightly as she looked at it. Wondering now if cameras counted as technology, which didn't work at Hogwarts, Gia opened her mouth to ask about it. Before she could, however, the girl with short brown hair spoke up first, saying that she liked photography as well. She also said the new girl's name: Santario.
Right after the two girls finished speaking to one another, the boy who seemed in charge introduced himself as Percival Rainwood and said that they were going to get started. I guess I'll just ask about it later, Gia thought, referring to her question about why some muggle devices worked in the wizarding world while others didn't. Turning her attention back to the group, Gia saw that the short haired girl had decided to go first. She introduced herself as Kara Capricorn, a second year in Slytherin, and then sat down to grab a treacle tart from the plate on the ground. Next, the girl named Santario went. She was also a second year Slytherin, as well as a dueling captain for her house. When she'd finished, she took a couple photos of the group, and then -
"Gabby!" Gia exclaimed, shocked. She watched her friend slide through the mud and land right where there was an open space with a raised eyebrow. The Ravenclaw hadn't told her she'd signed up as well! After her friend introduced herself to the rest of the group and sat down besides Gia, the eleven year old quickly hurried to do the same. "Hi, I'm Gia Adelard, first year, Gryffindor." she said with a bright smile at everyone in the group. Her introduction was definitely a lot shorter than the other's - besides maybe Gabby's, that is - but the girl barely noticed.
"When did you join?" the Gryffindor whispered to her friend, not wanting to interrupt or distract from whoever was going next. "I was so surprised when you came sliding in - nice entrance, by the way." she added, laughing quietly. She shot Gabriella a grin and waited for a reply, deciding to take a bit of treacle tart herself while she gave the other girl time to respond. Taking a bite, she realized just how fun this whole club thing was going to be now that there was someone else she knew in it. It would've been fun even without Gabby there too, of course, but everything was always so much better with a friend.441 words

Goddammit.
Okay the thoughts running through her head were admittedly much worse that a simple 'Goddammit' but they had to be filtered out for obvious reasons. Scarlett cursed, springing up from her comfortable seat in the Gryffindor Common Room. Tucking away her parchment and quill that she had been idly doodling on, she rushed upstairs and wrestled with the sleeves of her coat, eventually throwing it on and rushing outside.
Outside. Outdoors. The Outdoors club. Also known as the club that she had signed up for, the club she had signed up for in her own free will. Now, Scarlett loved the outdoors. She certainly loved it better than indoors. But at that moment, the fire had been so warm and her daydream had been epic and -
She shook her head, a physical gesture to tell herself to snap out of it. If she was going to claim herself as a true fan of the outdoors, she had to occasionally suck it up and walk into the brisk air, even if the common room was incredibly cosy. Scarlett stumbled outside, to the area where you could host clubs, and saw blankets and food laid out on the grass. Food was nice. But what wasn't so nice was the fact that there were already quite a few people frolicking on the blankets and talking amongst themselves. Another profanity escaped Scarlett's mouth. Play it cool, she thought. As if you were meant to be late. Fashionably late.
There was nothing fashionable about it as Scarlett slipped into the group just in time to hear the club leader - some guy she had seen in classes, but other than that, wasn't acquainted with - say that they would be watching the sunset and introducing themselves. She collapsed on one of the blankets though managed to control herself to not make her look like an idiot at the last minute, and listened to people's introduction. She already recognised a few - Kara from the night at the ball, Michael from Truth or Dare, Sarah from the sass-off at the Great Lake and a brunette Ravenclaw who had been on the bench at the last Quidditch game.
"Hello," said Scarlett confidently, when it was her turn. "I am - er - Scarlett Aden, second year Gryffindor. Nice to meet you all."
She flashed a smile at them all before scooting back towards Kara who she was most acquainted with. She properly knew almost no one here, but Scarlett counted random one-hour meetings outside of the Masquerade as 'good enough'.
The treacle tarts certainly did look good.────── ☆ ───────

As Kara was eating her treacle tart, she was looking up at the sky to see the clouds slowly drift towards the horizon, and she was also listening to other people introduce themselves.
“Suppose I’ll go next. I am Santario Martin, a second-year Slytherin. Most people recognize me now as one of the captains of the Slytherin duelling team. Others might know me more from taking your photograph at quidditch games, the infamous blossom ball last year, and other random Hogwarts events." What did we say about mentioning the Blossom Ball!
Kara furrowed her eyebrows at the somewhat distant memory, but she didn't mind, her face returning to having a stoic expression, or at least, the most stoic you can look while chewing. She watched as Santario took a few photos of everyone, most likely as to take some test photos before taking some of the sunset, but that was an educated guess as a photographer herself. Since the camera was of people, she did a peace sign at Santario for one of the photos before returning her attention to the others.
In the distance, there was another person running towards them, they were late. The person, who was a long haired brunette, came and introduced themselves as Gabby, and Gia had seemed to be pretty excited, as she had exclaimed Gabby's name when she had arrived.
"Nice to meet you Gabby, but are you alright. That was quite the fall!" Kara said, and since Gabby was sitting close, beside Gia, Kara wiped some of the mud and dirt off of her clothes before turning again, but that soon was interrupted as well.
"Hello," A recognizable voice came into earshot. It was Scarlett Aden, an extravagant but fun girl to be around. Kara herself knew them from the Fall Masquerade Ball. "I am - er - Scarlett Aden, second year Gryffindor. Nice to meet you all."
Scarlett came beside the dark eyed girl and sat down. Kara gave a small wave in greeting as she watched the ginger haired girl eye the treacle tart hungrily. Kara rolled her eyes and got some out, handing the plate with a fork and of course treacle tart on it to Scarlett.
"Next time, you should get it yourself it you wanted some. But enjoy I guess!"
Kara put the last bite in her mouth while looking up, which she then choked on out of surprise. She coughed, hacking the piece out of her throat before quickly trying to get the others attention.
"Ah sh!t we're missing it!" She said hastily.
Looking up, you would see the sun setting against the rolling hills of Scotland. The sky had turned to some nice shade of deep orange and nice pinks, and a little bit of yellow and red. Kara looked up in awe, to her, the sunset was beautiful.
OOC Note: I looked up when the sun sets in Scotland, and it is usually around from 5:00PM to 5:30PM during the winter, so it would be around that time right now as the whole event started around 4:30PM

@Percival Rainwood @Michael Miller @Kara Capricorn @Sarah Lightwood @Gia Adelard @Santario Martin @Scarlett AdenGabriella grinned broadly as Gia cried her name. She smirked as she noticed her friend's reaction to her landing.
"When did you join?" whispered Gia, as Gabby sat down. "I was so surprised when you came sliding in - nice entrance, by the way." Gabriella smirked again. Evidently, her accidental slip had turned out quite well.
"I just joined the other day!" replied the Ravenclaw. "You mentioned it when we had dinner together in the Great Hall, and I decided I may as well check it out. It sounds really fun." There was a pause. "I like the outdoors," she added, lamely.
Gabriella reached out and took a piece of treacle tart. Since joining Hogwarts, she had grown in love with them, and she wouldn't have been surprised if she found she had developed an addiction. "Nice to meet you, Gabby, but are you alright?" asked a Slytherin girl. "That was quite the fall!" Gabriella blushed - maybe her landing hadn't been quite as smooth as she had managed to convince herself it was...
"I'm fine, thank you," she replied, in a small voice. She hadn't been here when the Slytherin had made her introduction, so she didn't know her name or her age, but she looked older than Gabby, which automatically made the first-year queasy. When it came to talking to people her own age, Gabriella was loud and sociable, but talking to older students was something she found she didn't quite have the confidence for yet.
Gabriella glanced up as another girl slipped into the group and introduced herself as Scarlett, a Gryffindor second-year. She waved at the Gryffindor, but said nothing. Other people will probably say hi to her too, she assumed. Suddenly, the Slytherin second-year spoke.
"Ah, shit!" she cried. "We're missing it!"
It was true; amid all the introductions the Outdoors Club had somehow managed to totally miss the beginning of the sunset. Beautiful colours swirled in the sky - bright oranges and deep purples and reds and yellows and pinks... if only I had my paint set with me, Gabriella found herself thinking. She was certain that if she had them with her, the painting she would have made would be a good one. The clouds were distant and grey on the horizon, but seemed to have a tinge of purple, and they looked so grand and majestic that their colour didn't matter. The Ravenclaw beamed - this was what she had come for...Word count: 428

The Beginning of Something New
Lucia was late, late late! Admittedly, she wasn't quite sure why she was here at all, but apparently she needed to get more Fresh Air. That was what Ebony had said, anyway. So Lucia had reluctantly signed herself up for the Outdoors Club, and promptly forgotten about the first meeting... until she'd looked outside and noticed that the sun was about to set. Merlin's pants! Lucia skidded down to the kitchens, tapped the right barrel and careered through the Hufflepuff common-room before anyone could even recognise that she was there. She flung on her coat, let River jump into her pocket (okay, maybe that wasn't the best idea Lucia had ever had) and ran back out again.
By the time she reached the meeting point she was gasping. "I'm here!" she blurted as if to reassure herself. "Okay, hi, I'm here, hello-" Then she realised she was just saying the same thing over and over and slumped down onto one of the two blankets which had been set out before looking around. It was a small group, which was good. A large group would make her late entrance even more awkward. How many people did she know? A quick look told her: not many.
The two leaders, it looked like, were unknown to her. Wait, no! The younger one - what was his name - Michael - was the one who hosted the Truth or Dare event. Hadn't he also founded that pureblood club thing? And he'd been there at the muggleborn rights thing that other first-year had hosted; the one where Jennifer'd got detention. But the other one was a mystery. He might've been a sports player? Maybe? Lucia didn't pay all that much attention to House Quidditch, to be honest - she was fairly sure she knew who was on the Hufflepuff team, but that was about it.
A girl with green hair, and a younger girl with brown - wait, Lucia knew the green-haired girl! She'd been at the last On Pointe meeting, the dance club Lucia had signed up for in her first year. What was her name? Sara, wasn't it? Something like that. The younger girl was a complete stranger to her, but seemed okay. She had an infectious grin on her face and was talking to another brown-haired girl whom Lucia didn't recognise. Another first-year? It seemed like it.
The next face Lucia recognised immediately. Santario Martin. Santario and her partner Bridget had completely thrashed Lucia and her own partner, Logan, in their duel a few weeks ago, and Lucia made a mental note to avoid talking to her for as long as possible. Merlin, that'd be awkward. For a moment, Lucia thought she understood where Rose Moon's apparant hatred of Lucia had come from when they were forced to partner for Potions, but Lucia was determined to speak in a friendly tone to Santario if they were, indeed, forced to talk to each other. Even though the Slytherin had knocked her out.
Scarlett! Oh, Scarlett was here! Thank Merlin, Lucia thought as she noticed her friend sitting near to a girl with short brown hair, whom Lucia was pretty sure she'd seen before. "Scarlett!" she grinned, moving so as to sit nearer to her. Lucia always found it easier to surround herself with people she knew as opposed to complete strangers. "Hello!" Her over-enthusiastic greeting made it clear that she was a little flustered. She turned to the other girl. Yes, Lucia was fairly sure she recognised her from somewhere, though she couldn't put a name to the face. Where had she seen her before? Oh! The Masked Ball, that was it! The brown-haired girl had been outside, talking to Scarlett, before Lucia had left the hunt for the ghost cat and gone back into the ballroom. "Um, I'm Lucia, Lucia Fox," she said quickly, holding a hand out for the girl to shake. "Hufflepuff. Hello. Ooh, apple tarts!" Lucia reached out and took one. After a moment or so, a cacophony of pygmy puff squeaks sounded from her pocket, and Lucia sighed. "It's not for you!" she told her pet sternly. River didn't seem to care, and rolled out of the pocket in order to sit on Lucia's lap and squeak more loudly. "River!" Lucia groaned, then swallowed and introduced the purple fluffball to Scarlett and the other girl. "This is River. She's cute, but annoying." River squeaked in agreement.

The Beginning of Something New
Percival nodded at Kara's words it would soon become apparent that some people were just running a bit late. A brown-haired girl came running up to the group. Almost tripping and falling on her way there. The boy offered the girl a smile, another person he could recognize. Though, he was not discouraged by this fact. This was the point of this club. To make new connections. To make new friends. "Don't worry about it you are not that late." he said in hopes of easing her worries. The last thing he needed was to make the younger girl feel bad for showing up late. Though, that did not mean he was no a tad irritated inwardly. Percival grew up in a rather strict Pureblood house. Where on time was late, and early was on time. It was a habit that had been drilled into his head, and one that was hard to let go of it at times. So, he found it somewhat annoying that others were showing up late. Though, he guessed he couldn't hold it against them. Not everyone had been to the same standard as he had been.| Outfit |
The boy froze in slight surprise as he heard a click. Turning his head towards the sound he focused in on the camera in the girl's hands. Percival could not help but be perplexed at why the girl took the picture. She had not garnered the attention of the students around her before taking the picture. "Is there a point to taking a photo without telling anyone?" he asked confusion spreading across his face. His eyebrows furrowing together, and his lips tugging into a small frown. The photographs he had seen were often filled with smiling faces grouped together. Percival had thought that was what the girl would have decided to take a picture of.
Percival looked up as a flash of fiery orange caught his eye. The boy glanced up to look to see another girl make their way into the growing circle. "Nice to meet you Aden. Please take a seat." he greeted before waving his hand towards one of the many seats. The boy quickly perked up as he listened to Kara's exclamation. His gaze quickly locked on the spot where the sun was starting to go behind a group of hills. The sunset seemed to light everything on fire. Glancing down at his hand, he saw it was a deep orange. Reminding him of a flickering flame. Percival felt a restless feeling grow in his chest, and he wished he had decided to do a bonfire instead. Though, there was no going back on it now. So he would just have to make to do. Percival grabbed one of the tarts not really taking notice of what flavor. Biting into it he noted it was one of the apple tarts. The boy hummed with delight as he glanced towards another newcomer. His gaze instantly locked onto the round ball of fluff in the girl's lap. "Oh my it is quite fluffy. I would have brought Prometheus, but he doesn't like new people." he said with a small laugh.

Santario continued to take a few photos, making sure not to get the girl as she fell during her entrance; after all, she was not here to take embarrassing pictures of people. While test photos were a good idea for digital mediums, they would do Santario no good with the analog camera that required her film to be manually developed. A nod would be given in greeting to each Gabriella, Gia, and Scarlett as they made their entrances.Interacting| @Percival Rainwood

My apologies for the late reply I have not been well.
It was then that Percival’s voice caught her attention, and she lowered her camera to look at his face of confusion as he posed his question. “Actually, yes. Posed photos are wonderful in their own right, but in essence, they are forced and like their name’s sake… Posed. It is not always a natural photo with forced smiles or positions. So, while I will take posed photos when asked, I much prefer candid photographs. With Candid pictures, you can get people expressing real emotion, genuine smiles, belly laughs, catching the passion in their eyes when they are doing something that they truly enjoy or the way they look at other people. Candid photographs are my favorite.” Santario would take her seat where she had been standing at the edge of the red blanket, allowing herself to get comfortable.
As Lucia introduced herself, she would receive a nod in greeting from Santario just like the others. And as soon as she heard the little pygmy puff squeaks, she raised her camera back to her face capturing a few photographs of River rolling out of Lucia’s pocket and staring up at Lucia’s apple tart while in her lap.

The Beginning of Something New
Michael watched as more and more people came to join the small gathering. Many he knew, others he didn't, especially those that didn't carry the slytherin title.
He was surprised that Percy didn't say anything to him about how close he sat. While it felt nice, the thought that the other boy might actually want him to sit there with him, that close. It also made him uncomfortable. Why wasn't the boy doing anything? Was he planning something? Going to hurt him or humiliate him infront of the others?
Michael tried to subtly move over, further away from the boy that was running this little get together. He grabbed a tart, looking down at it, he broke it in half, eating one half, then the other.
Maybe Percy just actually liked him back, for some reason that made him feel worse. Percy actually being nice, affectionate. Just the thought of that made a shutter of unease crawl down his spine.
Michael looked at the sky, watching as it got darker. It was a nice afternoon, comfortable and nice and cool. Mic let himself relax, he smiled slightly, it felt good to be outside in the cool breeze. Maybe he'd sit outside more often.

The Beginning of Something New
Percival could not help the surprised look that crossed his features. Cameras, in general, were uncharted territory to himself. It was not like he grew up completely in the Stone Age. His father had an old family album filled with pictures of long-dead relatives. There was only a handful of his father in them. So pale in comparison to the stacks upon stacks of other members. All of the photos of his father were of a young boy who looked far too similar to how he looked. It was interesting. Pictures seemed to capture time. Forcing it to be frozen in suspension. As a child, he had wished he could jump in and meet his father when he was still so full of life. It was a childish dream. One that could never be completed. It was impossible to turn back the clock to a better time.| Outfit |
The boy nodded as the girl, Santario, explained the reasoning behind her pictures. It made sense in a way. People do often put on their best faces when they knew to expect something. He could see how it could become forced or unrealistic after a while. "I can see why. You get an in-depth look at how people really think and act. You can get a feel for how someone is even if you've never personally met them. That's pretty cool." he said nodding slightly as he finished the last piece of tart in between his fingers. "Is it hard to get people to be genuine? To not glance towards the camera when they see a black object in their peripheral?" he asked. He was a bit curious, seeing how he himself had gotten distracted by the soft clicking of the camera. Percival wondered if it was difficult to get truly candid shots.
Percival looked down at the round ball of fluff noting that the pet was staring at the girl's apple tart. "Careful or it might try and take a bite out of your food." he huffed out in a good-natured manner. He didn't know much about pygmy puffs, but animals had a habit of trying to steal food. He had seen far too many cats roam the halls with something that they should definitely not have.
The boy would glance towards Miller as the other began to act weird. He wondered why the boy who seemed to have an affinity to follow him around was acting like he had the plague. Percival frowned before going back to grab himself another tart.

The Beginning of Something New
Kara was looking up at the sky with a content look on her face. She enjoyed looking at the setting sun, and the rising moon, which was now behind her. The fiery and bright colors ripped across the sky, tinting the clouds and showing the splendor of nature.
At the moment, almost everyone, including the people she had just met, had their gazes attached to the sky, so it made Kara feel proud of herself for some reason to be the signaler of everyone, including Percival. The content look on her face now had a small, prideful smirk. She found pride in the oddest of things.
As she was sitting beside Scarlett, who she had given some treacle tart to, somebody else arrived to join the party. She somewhat recognized them, but not really, so when they had come over, she looked at the curiously. Well, whoever they were, they were excited to see Scarlett.
"Um, I'm Lucia, Lucia Fox! Hufflepuff. Hello, oh apple tarts!" She now recognized the girl, from the Ball this year. Another unspeakable to Kara, but she didn't mind it as much as the Blossom Ball.
Kara shook Lucia's hand, introducing herself.
[color#008080]"Nice to meet you Lucia. My name is Kara Capricorn, second year Slytherin. By the way, I like your coat, I've always liked a nice blue!"[/color]
Kara watched as Lucia took a treacle tart of her own, but a load squeak sounded from her coat pocket, making Kara quirk an eyebrow. She listened to Lucia scold the little squeaking creature, till the bundle of purple fur finally showed it's face. It was a pygmy puff!
"This is River. She's cute, but annoying!" Lucia gave Kara and Scarlett a proper introduction to the pygmy puff.
Kara giggled softly, covering her mouth. She looked pretty proper and lady-like...when she wanted to be, though. She let River sniff her hand before saying "Nice to meet you River. I actually have a cat of my own, named Moonshine, so I best keep her away from you!"
She pulled her hand back and looked back at the sky before getting up.
"Lucia, Scarlett, nice to see you two again, but I best be leaving. I don't usually stay up for long as I have a very thorough process of nighttime care, and it takes quite a bit. I'll see you guys around, and of course, during the next events."
She walked over to Percival and patted him on the shoulder.
"I enjoyed my time here, and thanks for letting me join the club. However, all good things must come to an end, so I'll see you around I guess. Goodbye everyone!" She waved to the whole crowd before turning to run back to Hogwarts.
