Long story short, she survived again, without losing a single hair. On the other hand their good small Emerys was perfectly alive and actively searching for the snitch. Those snakes should be disappointed. Well, see, everything they could do was managing to score a few goals and knocking Bezuidenhout off his broom. But anyways, Bezuidenhout was caught by Bowen, and was now perfectly alive as well. Ha!

Captain Healey was doing a great job, successfully shooting a bludger towards Palmer. Lindsey had to admit that her captain was indeed an intimidating guy, with - ugh, his bludger hit, but it wasn’t Palmer. Cash had obviously been putting an effort in defending their seeker, and they weren’t as luck as her when the iron ball arrived. It was good that they were caught though, from a friend of their’s view - but certainly not of an opposite team. Alright…

She turned, and her chocolate brown sight landed on the chasers for a short period of moment - wait, did Reid attempt to get the quaffle and leave her rings unguarded? Sounded a bit impetuous, but surely, she was fairly glad that the quaffle landed in yellow hands for every single time. She was attentively watching them going for quaffles and scoring, when -

Someone stormed towards them.

Ah, it was her again. Larkston was her name, wasn’t it? Thanks to the announcer, Lindsey now was well acquainted with this player. She should have been playing for quite long now, but probably a second string, as Lindsey didn’t really remember hearing her name that often before. But anyways, Slytherin had a similar - nope, completely the same - strategy just like the beginning. The green robe was coming closer and closer, clearly wanting to knock them off their brooms. Remembering her duty, she swung from the back, and blocked Larkston’s way to Emerys.

She nimbly darted out of the snake’s way. Phew, good enough. Again, a foul for Slytherin. Waving her bat threateningly at the back of Larkston (she must seem hilarious, by the way), she muttered triumphantly, with pride tinting in her words. “What else do you have, you sneaky snakes?”

They’d be well after all - wouldn’t they?

Another score for hufflepuff!

A smile stretched across Stanley's face like the speed of light. He was finally getting in the mood he wanted to be in. He was excited for the game and not scared of being disappointed.

His head turned to their co-captain, @Ami Procoppio. She was really cheering on the team like a mad man. Stanley hoped that in the future he could give of the same energy as well. Ami then turned towards Stanley and the other new player, Aspen before telling them some words of encouragement as well.

"I really like watching Quidditch. It's very interesting." His mouth sputtered out from nowhere. There was a small spark of confidence that burned inside of him and Stanley secretly wanted to show it to the world. "I can't wait to play as the seeker. I just hope I don't let the whole team down."

The boy sighed quickly. He needed to move those bad thoughts away until after everything was finished. All that was important right now was the game. "I want to make my Dad proud." Stanley puffed his chest out a little bit and put a smile on his face while even more chaos unfolded in front of him.

And off they went again. Nico had been instructed to lay back. Not in a relaxing manner. Quidditch was far from relaxing. Except if you were some strange sadist who loved to watch kids hurt each other for sport. Or maybe if are a Quidditch player and want to blow off some steam. Maybe then.

However, Nico was instructed to keep an eye out again, to see any potential attacks from their rivaling team. Were they going to be out for Dan again? They definitely were. Her tree of a boyfriend was hard to ignore on the field. His huge presence stood out between all the regular sized students. Her eyes darted left and right, glancing at the other potential enemies. But sure enough, her gut feeling was right. Quinn once more aimed for Dan, and just in time, Cassandra threw themself infront of him. Very brave, but almost stupidly brave. Cassandra forgot that they were up against Quinn. A massive hunk of meat with muscles that was only going to keep growing and get stronger. The dhampir didn't hesitate when the purple haired girl got launched off their broom.

Swiftly, the dhampir pressed herself nearly completely on her Tinderblast, trying to reduce the friction as she zoomed after her falling comrade. It was a close call, wooshing down, the redhead safely, yet maybe a little painful, caught the girl and carefully ascended again. 'Sorry about that.' Nico said to them. 'Even though this is but a game, I'm still going to give him an earful for hitting you.' While they were in the clear, she looked over her shoulder at Cassandra. 'You're welcome.' Her eyes would show that she was smiling. A genuine smile. 'We'll have to bring you to the Hospital Wing after this. Just to be sure. Hold on a little longer.'

Lovely Creature

Effect: You are very distracting to look at. This increases the Control DC of spells in duels and adventures by +2 as well as the DC for finding things in adventures or the DC for finding the snitch in a game of Quidditch. This ability does not stack.

Unsetteling Aura

A Dhampir's Unsettling Aura becomes noticeable. This is created by their presence. It is that uncanny feeling one gets where the small hairs on the back of their neck stand on end and the flesh on their arms turn to gooseflesh. It is as if the room itself was turned down by several degrees and one's heart was filled with a foreboding sense.

Effect: This represented as a 10% auto-fail rate for anyone besides the Dhampir (or other Dhampirs) to perform an action or cast a spell. Unfortunately, this prevents a dhampir from being hidden (entering stealth) when in use. As such any attempts to be hidden in a topic while this is on would automatically fail. However, a dhampir can turn off their aura at the cost of an action (unlike those that have the ability terrible presence) and as an action turn back on their aura. This ability does not stack in intensity when multiple Dhampirs have it activated.
Broom : Tinderblast

In the role of Chaser, as a free action if the user of this broom is successful in the quafflegrab they can as a free action pass the Quaffle to another user in an attempt to score. There is a chance of the quaffle being intercepted, however due to the fact that the user is "so fast" with the quaffle this would be considered "surprising" and the attempt to score would be done at +3 accuracy by the player it was passed to in an attempt to score.

Note: The attempt to score would be an automatic attempt by the user that catches the passed quaffle.

The boys appeared in mutual agreement to digress for the time being. If Flash proved his suspicions were correct as an aid of Chatter Fox's share sessions about Thomas, there would be another time for Thomas to affirm his stance. However, for the time being, Flash was right. While situated on the bench, their attention should remain on the game. The team captains formed the position equivalent of a coach, but in the heat of the action there are developments they could miss.

This is why in a traditional setting, there's a team coach on the sidelines to survey the action from an outside perspective. You can game plan all you'd like, but each match approach will require modifications. You take what your opponent gives to you, make alterations if necessary. If anything, a bench player's chief role is to watch the action closely, and signal to a team captain if they notice consistencies to exploit in their opponent's strategy.

Thomas may have taken on Quidditch as a topic to cover for the Headliner, but in truth the boy was not well versed in the sport. His familiarity with muggle sports and statistics fueled his passion to understand and analyze the game. Though he could not readily identify the strategic formations or broom maneuvers. He knew the game on the simplest of levels, send the quaffle through the hoop, catch the ferrero rocher.

Even on the bench, there is always an opportunity for a player to improve. Thomas elected to hone in on this approach, to take the game in like a sponge and learn.

It was rapidly becoming clear that the Slytherins had it out for him. Ethen couldn't imagine why the other team continued their plans to strike him from his broom. He couldn't understand why they would waste their precious time with such a task, surely they had better things to do than annihilate him. But he did find their strategy rather adorable. Each failed attempt to eliminate him only made him feel more invincible in the moment. With his guardian Lindsey on his side, he doubted the little flying sneks would have a true chance to bash him off the broom. But he knew better than to become too complacent in his newfound invincibility.

While the snakes continued to embarrass themselves in their attempts to vanquish him, Ethen was still keenly aware that the little snitch remained elusive. He wasn't able to make out even the faintest glimmer of the snitch. His eyes continued to flicker about in search but to no avail. With each passing moment, the pressure began to mount. Ethen wanted to avoid a prolonged game, not just because he was hungry, but he knew the longer it went the more chances his teammates would have to get hurt. Not to mention the longer the game went, the more embarrassed the snakes would become in their failure to get past Lindsey to knock him off his broom. "Come on little snitch... its time for you to show yourself," Ethen grumbled to himself.

Atlas’s body had become numb to the harsh weather which helped keep her mind focused on the game rather than her shaking body but she couldn’t help to think how amazing a bath would feel later on to thaw out. With her impromptu Chaser round success Atlas couldn’t see the harm in stretching her skills a little longer as she stared back at her posts before diving down to catch the quaffle.

Aaron expertly pulled the quaffle from the air as a smile grew on her face watching as he raced down the pitch. Atlas’s nerves grew as she clamped her hands tightly around her broom, slightly leaning forward as Koko pulled off a pretty decent Starfish and Stick blocking his throw.

Feeling determined, Atlas swiped the next quaffle out of the air as she twirled it in her hand, pulling it to her chest to prevent someone from snatching it as she too raced towards Koko. “Try this on for size.” Atlas muttered under her breath as she quickly faked a throw before pulling up on her broom and tossing the quaffle through the hoop.

The familiar ding sounded throughout the pitch as another 10 points were granted to Hufflepuff.

“YES!” Atlas squealed as she did a little victory spiral on her broom making her way back to the center for the third throw. Feeling elated and determined, Atlas inhaled deeply and exhaled as the quaffle was thrown and she was able to snag it for a second time.

A subconscious devilish grin twisted on her face as she traveled down the pitch facing Koko once more. Just as she was about to throw it, Atlas caught a glimpse of Koko’s alluring eyes as hers widened in response causing her to gulp as she wondered where these bizarre feelings were coming from. Catching something moving in her peripheral, Atlas caught a glimpse at Ethen who was completely enthralled in finding the snitch as she found herself feeling calm and a little flustered.

Trying to shake out of it, Atlas quickly tossed the quaffle but just as it left her fingers she felt its lack of power as it sailed toward the goals only to be easily dismissed. Gritting her teeth, Atlas shook her head telling herself it was still early in the game and she wouldn’t let the other keeper’s looks catch her off guard again.

This must be declared by the Keeper if either of these free actions are to be utilized.

Serena wasn’t quite sure what happened, but she completely missed all three attempts at grabbing the Quaffle. Besides saving her teammate earlier, the twelve-year-old seemed a bit off of her game today. She made a mental note to spend some extra time training between the end of today’s match and the next one. Clearly, she needed it.

But, looking on the bright side, Hufflepuff was now in the lead by ten points! If Serena and her fellow teammates could just keep scoring while also keeping Ethen able to catch the Snitch, then they would win, and Serena liked winning. Besides, she couldn’t let her team down again. So, she got ready to do whatever was necessary to ensure that Hufflepuff’s winning streak would stay intact.

There was nothing much Heinrich could do whilst on his teammate's broom. Both their weight was significantly slowing them down, so much so it was quite impossible to keep up with the quaffle. The boy could not help but feel a little guilty that he had been knocked off so early into the game. Still, he was thankful that he had not yet plummetted to the ground.

Well things were becoming more then a little interesting. The chaos, the swiftness of it all. Was absolutely invigorating and sent splendid chills up his spine. Things were really heating up and all he could do to contain his excitement was smile like a mad lad, cheer for his teammates and keep it all up. What a fun day, what a fun day indeed!

Still on the bench. Still on the bench.

Those words rang through Alexx's ears. She knew injuries killed momentum, she knew that for sure. But she wasn't expecting to still be on the fucking bench.

Alexx could do what this team needed, she could get shit done. Why was she still here? It was irritating her to no end. She felt useless. For the first time in her life, she was completely and utterly useless. All she could do is stand by and watch. This feeling was new to her.
