This round was quite unexpected. The Slytherins seemed to have made a comeback, snapping out of their passive state from the last round and firing off some spells. Amadea was unsure if the last round had been a fluke or if it was some part of their odd strategy, but nevertheless, the two teams both sent spells flying. Erik's Disarming Spell whizzed by Celynne; the Ravenclaw barely even had to take a step to avoid the spell. Unfortunately, she was not so quick in evading Illowy's Incendio Duo. Perhaps the Slytherin wanted some revenge after being hit with the flaming spell herself; the spell hit Celynne squarely, setting her robe aflame for a round. Amadea cringed again at the thought of fire; she really did not even want to think about it. Mars, their symptoms beginning to worsen again, would attempt to cast the Smokescreen Spell again, this time succeeding. A dark haze would soon fall over the duelling field, making it hard for everyone to see. Amadea was never sure why people used this spell in duels; while it certainly made it hard for the opposing team to hit you, it made it equally difficult to hit them. Amadea shrugged; she was sure the Ravenclaws had some sort of reason for why they did what they did. In the meantime, Illowy and Mars would find their noses running much more, their nausea growing again, making it difficult to cast spells. The blinding effects from Lumos Maxima would be almost gone, and Erik would start to feel the effects of his own Curse of Bogies starting to flare up. Celynne was aflame. All duellists were feeling the effects of the spells; the question would be : who could withstand those effects the longest?

The jet of light that Cel sent out of her wand before smoke filled the room missed by just a hair—so close, so close, but oh well, this wasn't the time to deliberate. Unfortunately, her dismay became her downfall—the fire came out of nowhere, giving her a little taste of her own poison. Well, crap, her sleeve was on fire.

"Ah, so they're still alive," she muttered, "and apparently I'm on fire," staring at the growing flames on her robes with all the urgency of a particularly lethargic sloth on a languorous summer day. Oh well.

Mars inhaled, focusing their energy on the tip of their wand as they chanted the incantation. Fumos. A curl of smoke rose before it bloomed, thick and heavy, bubbling out like a small spring. It filled the stage, slowly hiding them in a cloud of ashen mist. They raised their wand as it began to sputter out, blowing the last tendrils away. Huh. That'd felt better than normal.

Squinting through the fog, Mars noticed a red flicker by their side. Red flicker... oh, shoot.

"Cel!" they called, "You alright?" Ah, she was on fire, staring at it with a rather bored look on her face. They sighed. Yeah, she was fine. What came next was yet to be seen.

This round was quite hazy for all of the duellists. The smoke from the Smokescreen Spell was making it difficult for anyone to see anything. The Ravenclaws used this as a good point to regroup; Mars cast their Extinguishing Spell toward the flames surrounding Celynne, successfully removing them before she was even more burned. Celynne, despite the flames, was able to cast a successful Healing Spell toward Mars, giving them yet another slight reprieve from the stuffy nose and nausea.

Both Slytherins attempted to cast their spells toward Celynne, Illowy casting a knockback Jinx and Erik attempting to disarm her. Through the haze, it was almost impossible to find the target and both spells whizzed through the air, not hitting anyone. Both of their colds were starting to gain in intensity. The haze still stood and all of the duellists had made it through the round; Amadea was interested to see what would happen next.

Another turn of her arm, and purple sparks descended on her partner again. That cold was no joke, honestly. In the haze of smoke, the flame on her arm diminished until it left nothing but a blackened crater on her sleeve—she'd have to get that fixed later (or not, if she couldn't be bothered)—and Cel turned to nod her thanks at her partner, holding her intact sleeve over the front of her face in an attempt to block out the smoke.

A simple cast and the flames on Cel's arm proofed out of existence, coinciding with the shower of purple sparks over their head. Mars took a deep breath, relishing in the ability to breath once more.

Through the smoke, they spotted the telltale flash of two spells, but the casts were so haywire that they didn't bother to move. Both of them seemed to be aimed at Cel but... with the horrible aim, it was difficult to tell either way. Oh well. Not like it mattered.

"The smoke's really effective, huh?" they mentioned to their partner, pointedly loud enough for the other team to hear, "Really screws with people's aim." They drew a hand through the thick cloud, eyes gazing through the veneer. Almost there...
