Lone Wolf PV Ross

@Ross Stephens
She watched as his hands trailed through the dirt searching for a worm. It was a funny little analogy but one Elena understood. The worms to Ross were probably the same level of importance as Flutters was to her. The worms were the Hufflepuff's Flutters and while to her, no small worm could ever take the place of a gigantic barn owl who feasted on them for food on a daily basis, the Gryffinder understood the relevance of what he was trying to bring up. "You know, I read once that worms have a very minimalistic nervous system. Basically, they can't feel emotion or anything." She didn't know if that was a good thing or not. In a way, it was almost nice due to the fact that the worms couldn't feel all the negative emotions Elena was feeling. That is to say, they couldn't feel loss, they couldn't feel all of the negativity that the Gryffindor had endured for the majority of her lifetime and it was amazing how such a simple creature could play such a huge role.

His answer to her inquiry was simple enough. She had done the same for him when Ross had been in a compromising situation. "Maybe I should offered you a worm back then, seems to do the trick." The third year said smiling slightly at the remark. She actually still possesed the ability to crack a joke or two, Flutters had just been in the crash of a lifetime and somehow, Elena had found the courage to jest. Maybe it was the Hufflepuff's word, she didn't know how to put it but he had just kickstarted a train of thought within her that no, her barn owl was going to be quite alright. Elena Jangleton just needed to keep being her normal self without getting all torn up about it and Flutters would be back to being his normal self after a few days of rest and healing.

He just couldn't die. She wouldn' t allow it, Flutter's wasn't given permisson to do that. He was her owl and only she could determine any sort of major life choices for her sole companion, not some stupid bandits who had hijacked a train for the sole purpose of their own benefit without a care in the world to the all the innocent lives they had potentially scarred or even injured in this case. The image of Marshal's leg with the train car bearing down on it flashed through her head and she winced at the imagery. Ross was right, it could defintely be worse. "Hot chocolate sounds perfect actually, lead the way." The girl said suddenly scrambling to her feet running a hand through her dark brown hair which clung to her head now soaked by the overhead thunderstorm which was now in full bloom as tiny bits of hail began to pelt the two students. "I reckon the skies are in need of some comforting too if you ask me."
