The cold long forgotten, Ana whizzed through the air. While things weren’t going exactly perfectly, she was in her element and loving it. Things rarely went according to plan in Quidditch, so she wouldn’t allow that fact of life to bother her too much.

In any event, the game had just begun. The next section went spectacularly well for Gryffindor. They managed to knock two players off their brooms and only one was caught. Ideally, their seeker wouldn't have been saved, but all in all, it was a good outcome. Eliminating a player each round was certainly helpful, as Ravenclaw had finite players. The points that Rafa, Alan, and Evelynn scored certainly didn't hurt either. Piérre evidently missed a blatch, which was a pity.

Ana stayed back, watching for any scarlet players falling. None did, and her dark eyes darted about to see where things stood now.

Long story short, I survived

Scarlett fought to keep the grin off her face as she rushed around the pitch. She heard Rose's voice briefly in the crowd, though she couldn't pinpoint where. With an energetic wave, Scarlett flew to near where she had heard the voice before returning her attention back to the game.

This match had started out better than the last one could've ever been. For one, she knew what she was doing and what she was meant to be doing. And as well as that, she was playing better, or at least she thought so. She was determined to not be knocked out halfway, and even if she was, she would go down fighting, and though it might be painful, it was more tougher than falling unconscious, like the curly-haired Ravenclaw Beater had done. Even Scarlett winced as the two collided on the ground. She wished she could've done something to make it hurt...less. But that was silly after all. This was Quidditch.

Recovering from the slightly icky sight below, she gave out a little woop as Gris and her managed to bludger the Beaters down. It took approximately one Scarlett and one Gris, or two Scarletts, to take down a Ravenclaw. The pair of them managed to take down another curly-haired girl - a lookalike of hers actually - but as she was falling, she was...caught.

Scarlett cursed under her breath. That girl was the Seeker, wasn't she? If she had gone down, she would have probably been replaced by one of the benched players, who didn't look too intimidating. It would've made life so much easier, but Scarlett couldn't judge, seeing as her and Gris's replacement was a muscly third-year who had a notorious reputation for beating people up.

Scarlett took another deep breath and concentrated on the strategy,

In all honesty, River was not too excited to be executing the move her and Aly were about to attempt. There were risks, and the ravenclaw was particularly prone to motion sickness. Either way, she was determined to do it, and do it right. She felt Aly grab and begin to spin her, preparing to set off towards the snitch, hopefully in a way that she could catch it. Though as she flew through the air, it was clear to her the snitch would not be in her clutches at this moment. She’d missed.

As she got her head together from the previous spinning, she heard a crack of the bludgers, and one whizzed past her, ricocheting and heading straight for Aly. Before River had even had the time to take a breath and call out to warn her teammate, another crack was heard, and she’d not have time to react before a crashing impact hit her. The pain didn’t even hit before she realized she was plummeting toward the ground. Her mind flashed back toward the moment she tumbled off her broom during the last game of shuntbumps.
The girl readied for impact on the ground, right as she was caught by something else. Lavinia had been on save-duty, and in this moment River was more thankful than she could express. The pain hit her more noticeably now as the adrenaline lowered, and she winced grabbing on to Lavinia to stay stable on her broom. “Yeah, I’ll be fine, thank god you were there though or i’d be pancake by now”, she answered and gave Lavinia an encouraging pat on the shoulder. A pang of guilt hit River as she saw her teammate Aly hit the ground below, though she knew the game had to go on. “Let’s do this”, she said quietly, readying up to the continuation of the game. However that might look.

It was so interesting, watching the game, that Henry nearly forgot Sylvain was next to him with that little book. He wasn’t opposed to chatting with the older boy, he just really wanted to watch. Especially since it looked like River had seen the snitch and her and another of their players were going to try and catch it. Henry sat on the edge of the bench, watching as River spiraled forward. Unfortunately, she missed the snitch. Immediately after this, she was hit with one of the balls and knocked off her broom. Henry felt a bit of panic well up inside his chest. Not just because it was frightening watching teammates fall from their brooms, but also because it would mean he was in. As much as he loved the idea of playing, he wasn’t sure he was ready yet.

Luckily, she was caught on another teammate’s broom. Henry let out a big sigh of relief and turned his attention to the rest of the game, having barely noticed Gryffindor’s scoring of thirty more points. Wow, this game was not looking good. They had lost two players and Gryffindor was far ahead. Hopefully they could catch up. Henry remained on the edge of his seat, watching intently as the game went on.

He had been told to perform a blatch.

What?!

A Blatch?!

What had crossed his captains’ minds? The sheer idea that the small kid, hardly a hundred pounds, and still lightweight despite his unimportant growth this year, could even make a dent in some of the more stalwart players, let along a Seeker?

Well, he still had to try. For the Captain, after all!

Sucking a breath through the corner of his mouth, Piérre braced himself, making a corkscrew in order to give himself maximum momentum. He was, as Tyr would have seen and described it, a little scarlet bullet shot from a gun. A little red bullet who had a lump the size of an apple in the back of this throat as he tried to force himself to strike true. He hadn’t been doing too hot thus far. Hopefully he could turn it around...

Nope, he couldn’t do it. There was something just a little bit too gentle inside the Britalian. He just couldn’t bring himself to collide with the girl. Even if he was light, he would have been just like a bullet, all his pressure at one point on the girl. He could seriously hurt her if his entire weight was thrown into her.

At the last second, he tweaked his angle just slightly, forcing himself to skitter aside just as she spun the opposite direction. His heart was beating at a million miles a minute, and he couldn’t stop hyperventilating. He had actually even considered blanching someone? What in the world was wrong with him?

Still, the thing that he had been assigned to do had been completed, and the Seeker had been knocked, landing upon another teammate’s broom. That didn’t prevent the boy from receiving a penalty lap though, and to prevent his vision from going blurry with tears, Piérre immediately took his momentum from the blatch and directed it towards the outside ring of the pitch. Perhaps he could shave off some time if he made it quick, even with the chaos going around him.

He certainly could be a viable target if the aggression was not entirely pointed at the Seekers. There was still a little bit of remaining paranoia from the Slytherin vs Gryffindor game that had happened a few months back.

MENTIONING River Dewlight, Pierre Marchonne, Alan Vanes[/font]
Subtlety. That was the path Evelynn elected to pursue in her chase for the snitch. Although Moussa might have been well and out of the game, there remained two winged beaters, each of whom remained to be largely untested unknowns on the playing field. Although neither had yet made a remarkable name for themselves, that didn't mean they weren't just as capable of doling out a hard punishment as any of their forebears. Underestimating peers wasn't a mistake that Evelynn often fell victim to, and she wasn't about to start now. The longer she could keep their focus off of her and on to more attractive targets, the better.

That wasn't to say that she was going to give up on the snitch, though. Now that she'd seen it, Evelynn was determined to close in on it. She spied an opportunity with the quaffle game, and sped to join the next toss. With the hint of a smirk, she snagged it from the air before Ravenclaw--or even her own Captain or Vanes--could do so. She would tell herself it was simply the element of surprise that had allowed her to take possession of the ball so easily, but the ease and grace with which she handled her broom in that moment could not be contested. Thank you, nat 20. *chef kiss*

Nor would her desire to score. It was a strange feeling to race down the length of the pitch, red ball tucked covetously beneath her arm. All the while, her eyes darted about, tracking the progress of the snitch to ensure she didn't lose it in this little charade. Moments later, the ball sailed smoothly through the unguarded hoops. The dong of the bell sounding her successful goal was met with a slight bit of disappointment on her part; she would have rathered a bit of a face-off against the Ravenclaw Keeper, but 10 points were 10 points. She stuck with the Gryffindor chasers for a little while after that, although never secured possession of the ball again. Instead, she flew to intercede the opposing chaser's attempts to close in on the ball, working with D'Spacito and Vanes to maintain a Gryffindor monopoly.

Every score served to stroke her ego just a little bit more, pride in her team swelling. At least until the call for Marchonne to serve a penalty rang out. Her gaze panned in search of his form, lips crimping with disappointment. Blatching was never something she approved of, and it surprised her to hear Marchonne taking such a bold move. The look on his face the split second before he raced off to fulfil the penalty, however, was all the more telling. She hadn't seen the signal, but she could assume what had happened. When the ref threw the quaffle into the air again, Evelynn raced towards it for the third time. It wasn't the quaffle she was aiming for, though. Instead, she paced D'Spacito; and as he secured it, she raced abreast of him under the guise of creating a barrier against a body blow.

"You really don't know when to curb your blood lust, do you.." she chastised, shooting him a look filled to the brim with judgment right before he sent the quaffle sailing perfectly through the hoops.

Another ten points for Gryffindor, and Evelynn peeled off from him in annoyance. A bludger sailed off some distance away. Part of her waited with baited breath hoping it was aiming for D'Spacito and that it would send him careening to the base of the pitch. Sadly, no sound of impact resulted. And really, when she glanced over her shoulder, she couldn't tell who the bludger had been aimed for at all. What she did see, however, was Dewlight sailing across the pitch with her attention fixed, and by the glint of gold that darted in and about trailing ahead of that path, Evelynn could no longer pretend that she was the only one who'd spied the snitch.

In an instant, her heart was in her throat. Her plan to ease herself inconspicuously towards the snitch for a short-distance dash had backfired and now, despite the clear target that had been painted on her back in the process, the opposing seeker held the advantage. Evelynn would have a lot of distance to cover.

Her heart couldn't stop beating no matter how much she tried to calm herself, but how could she? After her first successful team-up with Scarlett, they both made another marvelous attack together. Before the game against the Ravenclaws, as the two first-string Beaters on the Gryffindor team, they needed to train harder. She even tried her best to enhance her own evasion and accuracy in order to be well-prepared for the upcoming matches. Maybe the times getting knocked off by Erin really motivated her to be better. She still couldn't forget the pain when she hit on the ground, the feeling as if her bones in her body had been crushed into pieces. She definitely wouldn't want to experience it ever again. However, it seemed that their training had finally paid off.

Griseldis decided to let Scarlett attack their target first again, she watched as her partner successfully hit the Bludger right at the Ravenclaw seeker. And somehow, the bludger flew right towards another Ravenclaw Quidditch player which knocked the poor girl off her broom. Taking this moment as the perfect opportunity to attack the Ravenclaw seeker. Griseldis didn't give River a chance to react and quickly hit a Bludger right at her. Finally, they both managed to knock the Ravenclaw seeker off the broom, but it didn't surprise Griseldis when one of their own teammates saved the girl before she could collide with the other fallen Eagles toward the ground.

The game is not over yet! Our hunt just begun! Griseldis thought to herself with a confident smile on her face.

Paisley watched as people flew through the air like birds. She clapped and groaned along with everyone else on the Gryffindor team. Everything was happening so fast it was hard to keep up with, but that was always how quidditch was. Her eyes darted here and there, watching the many falls, stumbles, hits, and shouts caused by the beaters.

When the time arose to clap she couldn't, since she felt as if her hands were frozen solid, and thought that they might crumble apart into small pieces of ice. She had been sitting in the same position far too long, she needed to move and get her blood flowing again. She shifted and shook herself, trying to avoid freezing.

The rest of the round she watched intently, inwardly proud of herself for doing so. She had told herself last round she would watch the match with complete attention, and now she was doing it. When things settled down for a few moments, she realized how hungry she was. I should've eaten. she realized, and wondered what would happen if she snuck away for awhile. Just enough time for her to grab something to eat....

After thinking about it for a few moments, she realized it was an absurd idea for plenty of reasons, the first being someone ought to see her leave since there was a crowd full of people around her. She sighed, glanced at the bag the captain had placed down, and looked back onto the field where the game was still taking place, deciding to take her mind off her hunger with the match.

Bloom watched as Ravenclaw was doing what was strategized. It looked good in the beginning, at least from what Bloom thought. Her eyes were primarily on her counterpart, Aly Slinger. Why? Bloom was second stringer to her. This was Bloom's first game, and she hoped for Aly to take on the win for Ravenclaw.

It seemed that Bloom didn't pray correctly. Aly was had lost control of her broom and fell on top of another player. She was officially out of the game. What did that mean? Bloom swallowed in light of nervousness. It meant that she was up and was going to play the second game.

This was her first time seeing how a play worked. Sure, she did a lot of practice runs with the team, but this was the real game. Bloom stood up from the bench and mounted her broom. Here we go..., she thought to herself. Bloom levitated from her broom and went into the game. When she got in the game, she was able to see the Gryffindor players fairly better. It was to her surprise that Gris, her childhood friend, was playing.

Holding the wood of the broom tightly, Bloom went straight to her position.

With just one leap they would surpass the Ravenclaw in points as all of them worked in unison. Alan was happy that he had managed to do this; knowing that he often struggled with all things Quidditch even now that he understood its rules. He was not sure if Rafael's faith in him was all that justified but he would still give it his best shot. He would always aim to make his house proud, no matter what scenario he was in. In a way he felt like he owed that to himself, being able to show who he was and to express himself. He shook his head, not wanting his mind to swivel as he had to keep his head in the game to continue helping his team to be victorious.
