Way too behind to be happy

The year so far dragged on, pulling Rylea behind it. After missing over a week of school because of the flu, Rylea had plenty to catch up on and wasn't looking forward to hitting the books. As much as she wanted to go to the library and read, she forced herself to go to the Great Hall early in the morning to squeeze in some homework before the day officially began. She would focus on Potions, there being more work there than any other class.
Sitting down at the Slytherin table in the farthest corner from the professors, she set out her textbooks and parchment and began to read through the Potions textbook.
That didn't last too long. After a few minutes, Rylea was distracted by the enchanted roof, watching as it changed colors along with the actual sky as the sun came up. With the beautiful blend of blue, pink then orange, Rylea couldn't take her eyes off of it, even when her neck started to hurt from looking up so much.
She forced herself to look away, relieved that she was alone. That would have certainly made Rylea look like a crazy person. She was about to start reading again when the first few students started filing in and going to their tables, the Great Hall gradually getting louder as more students came in.
