Group B: Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin

English - ParseltongueOh my god. Mars stood in slight shock, wand still outstretched, blinking in the light of the Duelling Club arena. That'd... hit? They turned down to the tip of their wand, bland as ever now that the spell had faded. In all fairness, it probably wasn't something to be surprised by but—well, they so rarely casted that it always felt like a miracle to land one. Especially a curse. Especially Curse of the Bogies.
"Holy," they muttered. Why had that felt so good? Tossing their wand to their other hand, they flexed their fingers, glancing at the palm of their hand. It hadn't felt at good before, had it? "Weird." A tinkling hint of laughter sounded by their ear. Mars shifted back, raising their wand again. Hmm. Something new to try out, it seemed.
[ Home, they said. I should like to go home. ]

Keeping her focus and her temper was slowly becoming more of an arduous task. These silly eagles certainly weren't there to mess around, and frankly, that much she could respect. After all, what fun was a duel if it was finished all too quickly with just the blow of a couple measly spells. At the very least, they were putting on a show.
Of course, that didn't mean she was particularly thrilled as fire came hurling towards her. Despite her best efforts to avoid it, she felt the flames cling to her and lick at her skin. The snake wince and bit her tongue, refusing to give her opponents any satisfaction of seeing their spell effect her.
"Erik, ye still good?" she asked, passing a glance to her partner.
I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.

This round ended up being quite different from one's past. All of the duellists took a break from the offense, tending to their wounds and regrouping. Celynne cast a Healing Spell toward Mars, effectively prolonging the inevitable fainting that came along with the Curse of the Bogies. They would feel a slight reprieve of the symptoms, the waves of nausea coming in slower paces and the amount of snot in their nose lessening slightly. While it was far from being 100% healed, it certainly must have felt better than nothing. Mars tried to cast the Smokescreen Spell, but the spell never made it out of the tip of their wand.
The Slytherins, on the other hand, seemed to take this round entirely off, simply watching the Ravenclaws and waiting for their moves. While it was slightly confusing to Amadea, perhaps this was part of their strategy: taking the round off and coming back even stronger next time. Whatever it was, Amadea was ready for the next round.

- You have 96 hours to write your posts.
- In the same time period, send me (Amadea Campbell) your team's actions per owl. Actions happen exclusively in owls so do not give anything away in your initial post. You can post your reactions after every mod post for each round. Please have one person send in both actions for each round.
- Failing to give actions means your team does nothing but passively dodge. Failing to post even though your action has been submitted means your action is void.
- Your spells, stats, and abilities are now locked in for this duel; you can still update your trunk but the changes will not be made for this duel.
- If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask! Good luck and have fun!

Mars frown as they felt the rush of magic catch and stutter at the end of their wand. Drat. It seemed the lucky streak could only go on for so long. They were comforted, though, by the warm feeling on their back, the symptoms of the cold elevating just a bit.
"Thank you!" they called, spinning their wand around a finger. It was much easier to focus now, what with their nose relatively dry and eyes less watery. Not that it was particularly necessary this round.
"Hey, hey, what's going on over there?" they called, giving the two stagnant Slytherins a frown, "Giving up already?"
Laughing a bit, they shifted their stance, incantations running through their head. What to do, what to do.

-Reaching up on her tip toes, Cel spun her wrist in a circle above her partner's head, intoning the incantation under her breath—the fact that she cast this so often, had pretty much stopped growing, and had a partner two years her junior probably meant that she was going to have to start wearing platform shoes to dueling at some point—and felt the surge of magic as purple sparks descended around them. Good thing for healing magic, otherwise they'd be done for pretty soon.
"You're welcome," she muttered, jumping back in case she needed to dodge, but apparently not—neither of their opponents did anything. Too shocked? Were they going to dodge, only to have nothing coming at them? Mars had attempted a smokescreen spell, but unfortunately it'd failed. Oh well, they couldn't all be winners. Whatever the case was, just because they hadn't reacted for the past few seconds didn't mean they wouldn't gear up soon.-

These freakin' oversized chickens!, was all Erik could mutter as he was shielding his eyes for a blinding light. The damage had already been done though as he was disoriented. Black spots were already covering most, if not all, of his sight. Damn it! These guys are not messing around. To some degree the werewolf could respect that. A hunter loved nothing more then savor the hunt and the chase before relishing in the kill. This time, however, the tables seemed to be turned.
Erik couldn't quite pinpoint what had gone wrong. Earlier off they seemed to be equally matched, but for some reason unbeknownst to him they had quickly set the stage and now they were struggling whether or not they were willing to admit this was a different story.
The Slytherin started to feel ill and at that moment his "teammate" wondered, if he was still doing alright. I'm going to be frank with you. Less and less, but we need to get a grip of ourselves and quickly do something, anything really before these chickens knock us out clean. You with me?

Illowy hardly gave her opponent the flattery of some witty or snide retort as they inquired if they were giving up. She was not the sort to simply "give up" on anything. She gave it everything she had until she was either victorious or unconscious. For all they needed to know, this was intentional; they were laying in wait.
When her teammate finally spoke up, she couldn't blame him for feeling less and less okay. The snake could feel her own body starting to drag under the weight of the curse, in addition to the flames clinging to her person, but that was hardly a weakness she was about to show. She would be a rock, not easily swayed or cracked, "I've been with you this whole time, Tharaldson." she assured, "That's kinda the point of us being a team." she offered a small smirk, "Just keep hangin' in there. We've got this." the snake tried to encourage. Now was not the time for their usual banter; that could wait until after they'd won.
