Henry waited for the red head in front if him to scream back. To shout how he was wrong and prove her point. The eleven year old wasn't truly comfortable with screaming and even through her was a know it all as well as geek/nerd it rarely brought him satisfaction to be right especially in these types of situations.

The first year wasn't to take back his words. To apology to his first and once best friend but he couldn't. He couldn't find the courage to say another word, his anxiety kept him from speaking as he held onto his messager type bag a bit tighter than usually and felt the coolness of the rusted sun pendant on his chest, hidden underneath his shirt that made him tearful.

After a bit he finally heard her reply which was worse then shouting or silence. She was I'm agreement... Henry didn't want to believe, be couldn't that his first friendship... his childhood best friend was over... past memories were gone and so was his childhood.

Taking a deep breath from that moment Henry made a promise to himself, he was no longer the quiet kid in the background that was easily forgotten from the coward. He wouldn't continue being only known as the anxious nerd or a slytherin but instead he would stand up for himself and make a name for him. He would find a place for himself at Hogwarts.

And it only took losing his childhood best friend for Henry Knight to figure that out.

Unsure what to do next as he stood in front of someone that he once knew. That he once hung out. Played with. Went on 'adventures' with. As he stood in front of the girl that was his best friend. Now just another person to forget about him. The eleven year old took a breath still his anxiety increasing and stutter mildly present as surprisingly the boy spoke.

"if all you wanted was t...to shout say me and announce t...that are friendship is over then,"

Making eye contact with someone he once considered his most trusted and amazing friend now on the verge of a panic attack as the young boy continued.

" mission accomplished, d...don't you think."

The boy didn't want to leave, he wanted to stay and apology toward his friend for everything no matter if it was his fault or not. The eleven year old wanted a do over with this reunion one that didn't end in tears and broken friendships... forgotten friendships...

" I'll see around t....then, Scarlett Aden."

The boy would again make eye contact with her before turning and heading back toward the castle where he would then run all the way to his common room before going to his dormitory where then he would lay on his bed for hours, crying and dealing with a panic attack eventually skipping dinner and his first class the next day but the only thing that the boy would be thinking about was that he just lost his childhood best friend; Scarlett Aden.

Deflated was the word. Odd to be comparing herself to a balloon, but that was exactly what she felt like at the moment. The bitter anger and the heat and the fury had all disappeared in a instant as she struggled to breathe, realising what she had done. There would be no turning back from this point - even if the two ever made up, it would take years to re-build their friendship, and even more years to strengthen the trust they once had. Scarlett had made some mistakes - quite a few actually - but this moment, right now, was her biggest.

She could only watch, speechless, as Henry took the reins, replaced her in her position of the speaker and spoke. He still had a stutter but something seemed different. Scarlett knew Henry long enough to know that he was feeling...daring, as much as he could be. The stutter remained, but that was all. The recognition was enough to make her fists clench and she felt herself getting angry, bitter again as he said all of that stuff to her. Each sentence was a blow, a horrible, painful blow as he finished off with a rather dramatic ending, stalking away.

She audibly growled, causing a few bystanders of their argument to widen their eyes and back away. Good for them. She couldn't - she wouldn't - let Henry have the last word, make him think she was guilty and sad and - okay maybe she was guilty and sad and countless other things - but she couldn't afford to feel those emotions right now. What she needed to do right now was win the argument, in a sense.

"No need for the surname!" yelled Scarlett as Henry hurried around. "And thanks for five years of nothing!"

The remark was biting - another mistake that she would reflect on later. But right now, she had to deal with the, well, now. Not bearing to travel in the same direction with Henry as eyes tracked her every move, Scarlett ran to the Great Lake, scrunching up her face to hold back tears. Suddenly, the day didn't seem quite so sunny anymore.
