Quidditch Game Hufflepuff v Slytherin

As the match progressed it seemed that neither team would gain an advantage over the other. Hufflepuff managed to pull off a successful Hawkshead Formation and put a couple goals in for the team. However, as Atlas abandoned the goals to bolster the Huffles offense it would be an easy score for Slytherin. It was a tie game at the end of round 2. It seemed that all of the luck was for the Chaser as neither the Beaters or Seekers had much success. The Slytherins were returning from their penalty laps and it would nerve racking to see who would gain the advantage in the next round. "Keep it up! Keep it up!" Howard called to his teammates trying to keep the motivations going.

Broom: Twigger 90 - In the role of Keeper, if the Keeper effectively blocks an attempt to score rather than obtain possession of the quaffle they can kick the quaffle at the user who attempted to score. This must be declared at the time actions are submitted. This would have damage like a bludger using an accuracy roll to hit and the user's strength score to determine the amount of damage done. If the quaffle hits or misses the target, a quafflegrab the next round would be necessary to determine which team has possession of the quaffle again.

Brisk, cold and windy
As the game continued, the second year Beater hoping that their house had the upper game but fate said otherwise. As their Keeper left the goal post undefended, it makes the opposing player easily score theirs. "Darn it!"Cash grumbled while on their broom. Their green eyes keep their eyes on the ball of iron.

Their captain instructed them when the ball come at their way, the purple haired must directed it to their seeker. At the second attempted of the Quaffle grab, their house managed to gained another point. Cash let out a whooped against the air once the announcer told all the player and the spectators alike.

"10 Points for Hufflepuff!!"The announcer told all of the attendees that Hufflepuff yet again win the third Quaffle grab. Cash was a bit flabbergasted. They wondered how the game turned so fast in the matter of seconds. Cash sighed as they rubbed their gloves covered hands to keep their hands warm so they still can feel the limbs.

Finally the bludger come at their way. "It is time"Cash said to themselves as they zoomed toward the ball. Once it in their reached, Cash balanced themselves and whacked the ball with their thundering strength. The ball fly passed the pitch and it almost hit their target if only Lindsey was not in the way.

The Hufflepuff's beater (who also their friend) send the little cannonball back towards them. A move that Cash was not anticipated at all. A month ago, both Cash and Lindsey had a friendly training session. The green eyes had taught Lindsey how to avoid the bludger and do one or two play for both of their position.

Guess that training paid off after all. The memory of getting hit by the ball and falling off of their broom for a split second come into their mind. That memory alone make Cash a bit paralyze for a split second. Evade, evade their mind screamed at them.

Their eyes widened as the ball approached them fast from such a strong comeback that Lindsey had done. It seems their body jerked them back to the reality as the iron ball closing in. At the last seconds before the ball closing in on them, Cash managed to dodged the ball.

As the bludger zoomed passed them, Cash swerved their broom to avoid the bludger. The young socialite looked at the offending ball for a moment then back at Lindsey. "Holy fuck! that was a close one"Cash gritted their jaw. Cash then raised their bat and pointed at Lindsey.

"Oh it is so on, Springhall"Cash smirked as they fly chasing after the bludger and wait for their next chance to whacked the offending ball again. Hoping when the time comes, they did not missed their intended target again and managed to knocked the opposing player down. Forcing them falling off of their broom and sending them to the ground.

Ami's eyes followed the speedy little figure of Atlas as she broke away from the goalposts, recognizing the Keeper's intention. "Come on, Reid..." she muttered under her breath as the nimble girl went straight for the Quaffle. Two goals! Ami shot to her feet in a raucous cheer as the Hufflepuff Keeper scored not once, but twice. What a legend! To be fair, there was no Slytherin Keeper guarding the hoops, but Atlas also seemed totally unaffected and unbothered by anyone else on the field. That was some legend material, right there. Aaron and Serenrich seemed to be doing alright as well, both fighting valiantly for the Quaffle alongside their Keeper. Between the three of them, they were able to hold off the single Slytherin chaser who dared go for the Quaffle quite well, only ceding it to her once. "LET'S GET THIS BREAD, Q-TEAM! EASY, EASY!"

Quinn seemed a little off his game as he whiffed a bludger, but Ami was sure that their captain would bounce back. "Shake it off, Quinnie!" she shouted, fist-pumping the air in support. Lindsey, on the other hand, was doing just wonderfully, as she ricocheted a bludger right back at the Slytherin beater who had flung it towards Ethen. If the Quidditch players were paid, Ami certainly would've added in a sweet bonus for the rookie Beater's excellent performance in this match. Considering that this was her first match as a starter, she was doing amazingly. "KEEP IT UP, SPRINGHALL! GET THOSE SNAKES! WE EAT SNAKES FOR BREAKFAST!"

All in all, certainly not too shabby.

Thomas' snide response would draw out a look of incredulity, more than Flash might have wanted to gift him for such a pointed remark. Truthfully, he should have taken solace in Thomas thinking he wasn't of any note-- yet somehow he couldn't resist the self-righteous need to show his distaste. For a cherry on top, he added that he kept bad company. It reminded him of Burnett, that way of needling at weaknesses that brought out a feral desire to retaliate. Even though his restraint had been waning in recent undesirable situations, today was a day where he could remain under control. Stay silent. People like that were fishing for reactions, and the niggling prideful snake inside him wanted to bite.

"I like most people. The whole school keeps me company." It was the kind of answer Valerius would give, a thought that passed through his mind briefly after he said it, dimming his mood further.

To his knowledge about Thomas' sportly interests, he seemed to have clearly gone a step too far. No matter how obvious the things he listed were, it was a mistake to show any interest at all. Regret wasn't worth his time though. at least not when it could still be salvaged. Unlike another situation where he would be glad to write off the conversation completely, Thomas was actually his teammate. Having a bad relationship with him would be suboptimal. Of course it wouldn't change his opinion of him, but harmony was more important than comfort.

However, his glance over at Percival had attracted his attention. It seemed their cat-and-mouse game of watching each other out of the corner of their eyes had ended. Another 'teammate' he had to make peace with. What Percival decided to let unfurl out of his putrid mouth was such a shock that Flash could have been made paranoid. Were they working together? Were they trying to throw him off? Get him to make a scene during his first game? It was such fresh malarkey as to seem like unabashed bait. Then again, Percival could also just be idiotic.

"Winters..." Flash looked at him blankly, though he had turned back to the game to feign disinterest. "You must be confused, I'm dating Miss Anastasia Beckett. She's a third year, so you might not recognize her... but I cannot say she has any real resemblance to Opeila."

The best he could do was admit his utter confusion and state the facts. Whether Percival replied at all was his perogative, as at best he would now have to explain why he thought the two of them were together. The were close, for sure, perhaps best friends depending on the metric being used, though perhaps for an infantile mook, friendships between boys and girls could not be platonic. It wouldn't be his first time hearing the sentiment.

Turning back to Thomas (if Percival answers, there may be another bit of back-and-forth before he returns his attention to Thomas), Flash sighed, realizing he was missing the game. The distraction was wholly unwelcome, even if he had been a bit on edge. If things went horribly wrong and Dan was attacked, Flash should really know what position the game is in. Intricately. He normally tracked every player meticulously, and now he wasn't even sure what the score was.

"I'm sorry Thomas, I didn't mean to be so rude. However, I would like to concentrate on our game." Even though he hadn't had an outburst yet, Flash certainly looked frustrated. "I hope to learn a lot more about you as we grow as a team. I'll be relying on you, and I promise you can rely on me as well."

With that, Flash would attempt to direct his focus back on the game.

"In fact, no matter what you do or say, you can depend on me. That's what a team is."

This session wasn't the greatest for Slytherin. Nico had laid back and watched the strangely intimidating chaos of Badgers waltz into the game. Of course, she wasn't just hovering in mid air, daydreaming. She was on save duty and whenever one of her teammates would fall, she'd be the first to see it, and prevent it. This round, they were spared. Nico did notice how Quinn may or may not have been eyeing their Snake Seeker. As she did, she clenched her hands around her broomshaft, on edge for anything to happen. But Quinn missed. The dhampir sighed relieved. That was an awkward conflict that thankfully didn't happen. However, she'd like to show off her speeding skills to the handsome Badger Beater.

With a sigh, aware that now both teams were tied, Nico readied herself for the next step of their strategic plan of conquering the Quidditch Pitch.

Lovely Creature

Effect: You are very distracting to look at. This increases the Control DC of spells in duels and adventures by +2 as well as the DC for finding things in adventures or the DC for finding the snitch in a game of Quidditch. This ability does not stack.

Unsetteling Aura

A Dhampir's Unsettling Aura becomes noticeable. This is created by their presence. It is that uncanny feeling one gets where the small hairs on the back of their neck stand on end and the flesh on their arms turn to gooseflesh. It is as if the room itself was turned down by several degrees and one's heart was filled with a foreboding sense.

Effect: This represented as a 10% auto-fail rate for anyone besides the Dhampir (or other Dhampirs) to perform an action or cast a spell. Unfortunately, this prevents a dhampir from being hidden (entering stealth) when in use. As such any attempts to be hidden in a topic while this is on would automatically fail. However, a dhampir can turn off their aura at the cost of an action (unlike those that have the ability terrible presence) and as an action turn back on their aura. This ability does not stack in intensity when multiple Dhampirs have it activated.
Broom : Tinderblast

In the role of Chaser, as a free action if the user of this broom is successful in the quafflegrab they can as a free action pass the Quaffle to another user in an attempt to score. There is a chance of the quaffle being intercepted, however due to the fact that the user is "so fast" with the quaffle this would be considered "surprising" and the attempt to score would be done at +3 accuracy by the player it was passed to in an attempt to score.

Note: The attempt to score would be an automatic attempt by the user that catches the passed quaffle.

Everything seemed to start looking up. Atlas (one of the Hufflepuff chasers) had gotten the quaffle twice and both times scored. It seemed Hufflepuff has caught up to Slytherin quicker than Stanley had anticipated. The boy sighed softly as he released a breath that had been stuck in his throat. His eyes redirected towards their seeker seeing a bludger heading right for him. Stanley held the urge to shout out while one of their own beaters swooped in and hit it back missing the original person.

Stanley had shifted foreword on the bench slightly bouncing his leg even more than before. The game probably wasn't going to end for a while and at the rate of speed his legs where going they were going to fall off eventually. His hand raised to his mouth balled up and his eyes welled up with small tears at the anticipation. He wasn't very good at handling stress.

None of the seekers had seen the snitch yet. Stanley just hoped that Ethan would find it before the other seeker giving them more chance to catch it and win the game. "Come on." He let out a soft whisper, "We all believe in you." Even though he wasn't on the pitch, he knew his dad was waiting for an owl home with exciting news of a win. Stanley knew he couldn't let him down. The only way to contribute was to encourage his teammates as much as he possibly could.

Keeping a few paces behind Ethen, her chocolate brown eyes kept observing the surroundings. If a bludger, thank smack it. If someone attempts to blatch, then evade. She kept telling herself, feeling anxious if she missed the iron ball and it would knock Emerys down. Although she was confident enough that she wouldn’t miss it, there’s still a chance…

Her eyes widened when she spotted it. A bludger, coming right towards them, smacked by one of the Slytherin beaters. Before thinking (Quidditch was the only thing that could make her act before think), she flew in front of Ethen and intercepted the bludger. With a “smack” - Merlin the bludger went straight back to its very first smacked - she successfully hit it. It was when she remembered to check who was the aggressive snake offender. Her first thought was Ryan - she’s terrifying. But no. Ryan was doing her penalty lap for attempting to blatch Quinn. Then…her eyes widened yet again, staring at it as the bludger flying towards her target.

Cash - n - ca - eva - pl - do - CASH! Her eyes widened again, with pure anxiety. Well…this was a match between two houses…but…she quietly watched the bludger storming back towards her friend. “Cash, I —” she mumbled, trying to find a way that they both would be good. She watched the snake nimbly darted out of the bludger’s way. Like a fool she chuckled to yourself. You are such an idiot. Do you think that this would do any harm to your friend, and thus it would do any harm to your friendship? Huh. See, they evaded it.

“Sorry.” she muttered in Mandarin Chinese, for no one would understand (probably). She didn’t know who and what were she feeling apologetic for. For Cash? No, they evaded the bludger valiantly, like a month ago when they two had a friendly training session. For herself? Maybe not too. She didn’t know. It seemed that Captain Healey hadn’t got any luck sending the bludger to Palmer this round, but she confided in him. They would definitely have better luck next round. Though…two goals. Good enough.

She heard Ami cheering for her, for the whole team. Giving a grateful look to the side of the bench (she couldn’t locate her co-captain very well), she continued trailing after Ethen. After the penalty laps were finished, Slytherin might get strong again…and she had to keep an eye out. The wind was strong. Thank goodness she put her hair into a ponytail earlier, rather than just let curls dropping down freely. They had to do it… “Gooooo badgers! We’ve got this!”

Dan scowled. This was not going correctly, Hufflepuff should have been in the dirt by now.

He saw the bludger that was supposed to destroy Ethan get redirected, but missed. Something that he took considerable joy in.

Then, he saw Quinn hit a bludger directed at him. He also saw said bludger fly thirty feet off course, not even coming close to hitting him.

"Losing your touch, Healy? What a shame."

Somewhere in the back of his head, Dan realized that his 'Quidditch Mode' was a bit... He couldnt think of the word. Vicious, maybe?
But he didnt care. Nice and happy Dan was not a good thing to have on the Quidditch Pitch. Vicious and strategic Dan was needed if they were going to combat Hufflepuff's obvious luck cheating.

Her broom felt lighter after she dropped Erin off. It felt... weird? Huh. Koko had figured that having less weight on her broom would be better, but it had been sort of nice flying with someone else. It had been almost as if she had a companion. "Good luck," Koko murmured, gently steering away. She planned to take it easy until she glanced up from ahead of her to see the empty Slytherin goalposts, and she began to zoom along. After all, the teams were at a tie, right? Koko needed to fix that. Hufflepuff would not get any more free goals. Koko would make sure of that.

She gripped the broom as tightly as she could, squinting her eyes against the bitter chill of the wind as it rushed past her. She fought the urge to glare at the Hufflepuffs, but all in all, she decided glaring would not do much. Her hands itched to feel a Quaffle in them; her heart wanted to feel her body block the goals and help her team win.

Koko was quite surprised by the warm buzzing that had built up within her sternum - confidence, something she was not well-versed in. With a small smile, she fought the urge to giddily do a barrel roll (it was a bad idea anyway). They could do this.

Quinn was not expecting things to turn out quite as they did. But you know what take what you can get and he was not going to complain about the certain turn of events. He needed to be careful and remind himself to keep a calm head and not over stretch himself or his team in momentary arrogance. It excited him at the same time and damn if they wouldn't push things as far as they would allow.
