James turned towards the other girl that just entered.
"I wish I could help, but I'm wondering what we're doing too." he explained.
"Does anyone know what we're doing!?" he shouted to the entire classroom.

Owen looked it over quizzically, but in the end smiled his thanks to her. He hastily grabbed the bottle and shoved it in his bag, wondering what it was. When he had turned back she seemed to have left the room and he waved as she got up from the table and waved goodbye. He returned the wave, hoping he wasn't to late before he turned back to the lesson at hand.

James saw another boy in the class who might pay attention to him (OOC: Owen).
James came over to his desk and cleared his throat politely.
"Um, excuse me? What exactly are we supposed to do right now?" he asked.

Owen, since the departure of his partner had remained in his seat, trying to finish the assignment by himself, with a certain degree of success. He turned from frantically cutting up one of the ingredients the book had told him he would need to glance at the newcomer. he briefly looked over the boy before responding, "Oh, I believe the teacher said we were supposed to be making a pepper up potion." He quickly turned back to his potion making, not wanting to be rude, but simply not wanting to ruin the potion.

James considered that new information for a minute.
"Okay, thanks!" James supposed he would take a seat and try to figure it out himself using his textbook.
James proceeded to take out his textbook as he sat down.
Flipping to the index, he started his search for a pepper up potion... maybe if he could do one with just himself and his book, he could get some points for his house... James doubted it though, he hadn't learned any magic so far...

After a few minutes of searching, James had taken the following notes:
Pepperup Potion:
Relieves and/or cures cold symptoms
Causes steam to come out of the drinker's ears for a few hours
Invented by Glover Hipworth, based on an earlier one by Linfred of Stinchcombe

Ingredients:
Two pinches of crushed Bicorn Horn
Mandrake Root
Three Sprigs of English Thyme
Five drops of Salamander Blood
Four Fire Seeds

Finish:
Finish potion by casting Counter-curse for Curse of the Bogies...
James looked over the notes he had taken. That had been all the information he could find. But he didn't trust himself or the limited amount of information he had to try and make a potion without blowing anything up. James swallowed hard and figured the best thing he could do was turn in his notes to the professor.

James took a deep breath and got up from his desk. He walked for what seemed like an eternity before he ended up in front of the teacher's desk.
James handed them the paper and returned to his desk to grab his stuff and leave.
Well, my fault for getting here late...

Alex watched the two guys as they talked and hoped that James had gotten an answer. She watched as he walked back to his desk and grabbed a textbook and turned to a page. She sighed having no choice but to do this as well grabbing the over sized textbook. She looked at the page he was in and read the name of the potion “Pepper..up potion?” She said quietly to herself. “What the bloody hell is that?” She mumbled quietly before reading the directions bored. She really hoped she could ace this and get a good grade, her mother would absolutely kill her if she failed a class. She got the supplies she needed for the potion her eyes scanning over the directions multiple times as she concentrated. Potions wasn’t the absolute worst class but you had to be careful and know how to do stuff before beginning to mess around. She looked up to see James leaving and frowned a bit, she decided that she was just going to try her best on this potion. As long as she puts effort into it she would be okay, right?

Sincerely,
Alex Reed

Venice Smith]“It’s nice to meet you, Dakota.” She smiled and cocked her head towards him, “I don’t think you’re weird at all. This might sound horrible but I felt at ease when I noticed you were nervous.

I’m nervous too.” She added softly, hoping she didn’t come across negatively with feeling grateful for him being nervous. She gave him an apologetic smile, “You don’t seem bad yourself.” She waited for him to stand before walking to the cupboard, a small basket in tow.

We need mandrake root, english thyme, salamander blood, four pieces of fire seeds and bicorn horn.” She said rapidly, her eyes glued to the list she made earlier. She added looking up at him, “do we have a supply of already crushed bicorn horn? It said crushed bicorn horn, but I'm unsure if we need to crush it or it has to be crushed or...

Her eyes widened as she realised how fast she was talking. She always talked to herself, not used to working as together with anyone.

Sorry, it’s a bad habit.” She said, moving the piece of parchment to where both of them can read it - letting him look at the list of things they needed. Looking at the cupboard, she noticed that the ingredients are arranged alphabetically.

We’ll save more time if we do this together.” She pointed out, “B, E and F are clustered together... if you want to get those things...” She worried her suggestion would across as bossy or overly controlling, she didn't want to make him uncomfortable or more nervous.

{ OOC: For reference, I'm following this "recipe". :) }
Dakota looked dumbfounded for a moment before realizing what she said, feeling more confident about himself, so if he looked a fool, he wouldn’t look it alone. The boy nodded lightly, following her over to the cupboard and speaking a bit louder, “I never heard that before, but now that I’m here you don’t have to be nervous.”  He was quite the talker once he got comfortable, “You seem like a smart kid-I mean you knew what page to flip to, and you got up as quick as lightening to get the supplies! I was surprised that you didn’t just walk off me.” He stated, his voice not as fast as Venice’s, but it was obvious he had grown more comfortable.

He was a good listener so he easily understood Venice’s words, “That’s fine, I know what you’re saying. The Bicorn Horn are already crushed, all we need are two pinches.” He responded, he was used to taking orders, mainly from his brothers, and he never could protest against them-at least when he was at home-so this was natural for him. “Sure, sure.” He murmured out, before turning around and going over to gather a portion of the supplies, trying not to think that all eyes were on him.

She opened the door of the potions room, it was her last class of the day. Looking around she saw people in groups working on their potions. Sitting down at an empty table with a cauldron she looked up seeing the page number they had to go for making the potion. Seeing everybody had started she quickly started to add ingredients to the cauldron as she read off the things she needed quietly. Done with putting the ingredients in the cauldron she stirred three times and waited a few minutes, looking again on the page to make sure it was right.

Sophia sat at a table, waiting for a partner to join her. No wonder barely anyone wanted to be in her group - she was a plain, dull, boring know-it-all. She stared absent-mindedly at the large cauldron sitting in front of her. It had nothing in it; Sophia had no one with her. This was really frustrating - she only knew maybe around seven people in her year, and maybe nine in total in the whole school. If only someone actually wanted to socialise with her as she usually made the first move in small-talk or a conversation
