There was something to be said about a child who would not take direct criticism as an opportunity to change their behavior. It wasn't anything particularly nice, but Zacharie kept his harsh thoughts to himself and buried his nose into his book. He'd read it at least a hundred times before, The Compendium Magnoliophyta: Magical and Otherwise. "We moved to England when I was a toddler, I grew up speaking French and English," he supplied, glancing over the top of his book to give Kazuo a faint smile. "I think you speak English very well. It must have been difficult to learn a language that is so different from your native one." His gaze slid over to Hayden and his smile dimmed, his eyebrows furrowing ever so slightly. "I've never been to a muggle doctor so I wouldn't know the differences but I imagine they play the same role in their respective societies."

As the excitable boy hopped up, he returned to his book. He didn't want to look out the window and he didn't want to think about the fact that he was going to be living away from home with a bunch of strangers. "Magic is an everyday occurrence in my house...it's not as exciting for me as I'm sure it is for all of the muggles on this train." He was excited to learn, of course, but the best thing that Hogwarts had to offer him was the ability to actually cast his own magic. It was the only reason he was going, to be perfectly honest. If he were able to cast outside of the school's grounds then there was absolutely no way that he would have been convinced to leave his brother at home.

"This is the Hogwarts Express, no one rides it unless they are going to Hogwarts," he muttered, rolling his eyes from behind the safety of his book. "I've ridden a few trains with my Grand-mère but otherwise we take the floo, it's more efficient." Hayden's urging only made him lift his book higher but he couldn't do much more than take in the pictures on the page, too much was going on for him to do any productive reading. The question about magic, however, drew his full attention back up. "Do they not tell muggles anything when they receive their letters? Underage magic is against the law. You and your family could get in a lot of trouble if you're discovered and as far as I've heard the Ministry of Magic always finds out." He shifted in his seat, digging his heels into the seat cushion to push himself a little further upright. "Aside from accidental magic...though I wonder how many incidents they consider to be 'accidental'. I've only had two."

Hayden was pleased to know that healers and doctors were pretty much the same. He woudk love that. He always wanted to follow his father's path and this was a great opportunity to explore magic and make his father proud. Although he had to admit that he felt awkward, being the only muggle in the compartment. Of course he knew when Zacharie was making a slightly mocking comment and he could definitely read the room around. He was well aware that they probably found him annoying but his father taught him to pay no mind to such things as it could cloud his judgement. So no matter what they said and how many times they rolled their eyes, Hayden held his genuine positivity. "Oh? So magic is part of your life all the time? How great is that! And they did give me a brief explanation but they also told me that I will learn more on details when I get to the school. I have almost zero experience with magic. That one time felt so.... Exciting and... Fascinating... I want to experience it again. I can only imagine how nice it is to live with magic all your life "ans he really meant all of that." Well, sicne I dont know much....i dont know if it will harm to try a few things on the train... But you two probably want to to keep it safe so we can definitely wait until we get to the school. I wonder how it looks like. Would it be like in the wizard movies? I cant wait to see it all "he sighed dreamily and returned back to his seat." You guys are really amazing. You both know two languages, and you speak then so well. You know all about magic and seem smart. Maybe a little boring but no doubt smart. I will probably not see you after this train ride so... Perhaps you can tell me more about what to expect? You know, just to have soemthing to talk about on our way... Unless you are desperate to read " he chuckled, fixing bus glasses, having noticed how both of them had their eyes longing to return to their books. Maybe Hayden could do the same. He thought he would travel alone in a compartment so he had brought himself a read. He wasnt even sure how long the ride itself would take.

”It is… a very different language. I am glad to hear that I am not terrible.” Kazuo replied to Zacharie’s compliment with a slight smile. “Without magic, doctors cannot doe as much. They have to deal with injuries and illnesses differently but yes, they play the same role.” He agreed with Zacharie’s observation. “I am curious… Perhaps you can explain it to me. Why do you call those without magic ‘muggles’? It’s such a strange word and I don’t understand why you use it.”

He turned his gaze back to Hayden as the excited boy continued to talk. He had to admit, Hayden’s excitement at being able to learn magic was something he also shared, even if he wasn’t nearly so outgoing about it. The freedom and the power that would come with mastering magic, it was deeply alluring. “I don’t know too much. I wasn’t meant to go to Hogwarts. But my mother talked to Headmaster when I received my letter and she told me a bit about what to expect and gave me a book about the school. The train ride is pretty long. We’re going to some remote place in Scotland. We won’t get there until the evening but when we do they have a welcome dinner and that’s when you get sorted into your dormitories. I don’t really understand the sorting system. My mother said it had something to do with a hat?”

He glanced at Zacharie, wondering if the other pureblood knew more. “Do you know about the dormitories and the hat? I read that there are four dorms that you can choose from… There’s a snake, a griffon, a raven, and a badger I think?”
