Mentioning: @Frost Cira and @Lea HirschRuby was successful at casting her spell and targeting both her opponents in the process, but both girls managed to dodge. A scowl flickered across her face but was quickly suppressed. Don't let them shoe that it gets to you. But it was getting to her. All she had succeeded in during this duel was a single Expelliarmus, while her partner was clearly excelling. What was wrong with her today? She wasn't inferior, she should easily be beating these Hufflepuffs rather than looking like some kind of weak link in the duelling team, an inadequate excuse for a prefect.
She found her duelling partner mildly interesting, in the distanced, curious way one might view an experiment. He seemed to care little for politeness or being liked, displaying open malice and taunting the other team. What was his goal in doing that? Just to have fun? She was snapped out of it when he made fun of her failed attempt at the Wind Jinx. “You talk too much,” she grumbled, rolling her eyes. Hopefully, she would manage to properly succeed during this round and not do as poorly as she had before. The duel wasn't over yet, there was still time to prove that she wasn't incompetent.Doing as strategised

The shell-shock of losing her partner must have hit her hard this round because Frost simply stood there, not raising her wand. She was coherent enough to hop out of the way of Dmitri's impending Flipendo to which Mars exhales breathily. Maybe she'd be okay?
But then, Ruby's spell burst out of her wand, dead-set and brighter than usual. Mars barely avoided averting their eyes as it hit Frost in the chest, sending her flying back to the floor. They grimaced, fingers twitching slightly. Hmm.

A Win for Slytherin!
Mars took in the situation with a large sense of foreboding. Two Slytherins, both on their feet and relatively unharmed, against one Hufflepuff, currently on the ground and worn over. It wasn't looking good for Frost.
They had a spark of hope, though, when they saw her twitch and begin to rise, putting herself back on her feet. What would she do now? What would they even do in this situation? Caught up in the thought, Mars barely noticed that Frost had raised her hand. Startled, they pulled back for a moment before catching themselves.
"Oh, uh—alright then. Hufflepuff forfeits the duel. Congratulations to Slytherin!" They'd extend a smile to Frost and then to Ruby and Dmitri while watching them leave. They couldn't fault her for doing it, not in the situation she faced. Mars hopped off the piste, fingers finding the wood of their wand. Either way, there still lay another stage for redemption.
