Percival's gaze instantly locked on the dark-haired boy in front of him, and he could not help but to study the other. The two of them shared the same name and even a few similar characteristics. Though, it wasn't hard to tell they did not share any similar physical features. He had black eyes while Percival had blue. Percival's hair was black while he was blond. The only thing vaguely the same was their height. Percival duly wondered if the other boy had the same draw to a flame he himself had. Though he wasn't about to ask him, lest he wanted to out himself. "Good to see you too. I hardly think this is the time for jokes, Grey." he huffed his voice souring as he spoke. The boy gestured to the outlines on the floor his brows furrowing. "Honestly, I don't really know, but whatever this is. It isn't good." he said unease swaying through in his tone. Percival truly didn't like the look of things. It looked like a crime scene, and it made him wonder what crime had actually taken place here.

The boy's face grimed up as a familiar girl made her way over to the slowly forming group. Percival would hardly call his relationship with Ileen as good. Their relationship was nothing more than forced civility in a war. Ileen seemed dead set on being the peacekeeper to the tension between him and Dealla. In truth, it felt more like Ileen trying to control the waves from rocking a metaphorical boat. Completely impossible and slowly growing worse with an approaching time. The last time she had tried, it had ended with a trip to the hospital wing. He nodded at her vague explanation of the chalk, well not chalk, lines. "Confirmation basically means to confirm something. It could mean anything. Maybe! It could mean the truth will be confirmed. Isn't that why we are all down here? Because of those rumors? To see how true they are?" he asked not really directing his question to anyone in particular.

Percival frowned to himself as he studied the trail of white powdery substance that seemed to zig-zag into the darkness. He wondered where it would lead them too, and he felt the urgent need to follow it. Though, he decided not to wander away from the small group he had formed. It would be safer to stick with them. He trusted all three of them to a certain degree, and he was certain they felt the same way. Instead of leaving the room, the boy would glance upwards, towards the ceiling to see if there was anything of note up there.

As Piper's wand flame flickered to life along with everyone else's, she took a good look around her. It was not what she had expected. Holy crap. Aside from all of the other students exploring this room, there were paintings lining the wall. Very creepy paintings. Or rather, they were made of the same chalky stuff the line seemed to be made of, so not quite paint. The artist was certainly a fan of eyes.

Turning about, Piper also observed a sudden movement in the shadows and her mouth went dry. She squinted and held her light out. It was a boy. He didn't look too old, but the way he moved, seeming to flee all the light itself, was intriguing. His dark eyes glittered in the light, and he quickly disappeared into a new corridor. There were three new doorways, which were dark, large, and looming - just like the last one. Piper glanced above the doorways, where there were a couple titles written: HOME and NOBODY HOME. The last doorway had nothing above it, but it was where the white powder led.

The door with NOBODY HOME on it was boarded up and locked. Very clearly, nobody was supposed to go into there. This made Piper want to explore even more, but another student was sure to spot it. Piper turned back. Above the door she'd come through, an X was painted. Interesting. So she'd know how to get out. Or escape.

But that wasn't something Piper wanted to think about. Instead, her thoughts moved to the dark shadow of a student running. Fleeing. It was a rather surreal feeling, because Piper often felt she was running from those around her, too. And from herself. And from everything...was she really that fearless in the face of danger? Or was she just stupid?

She was also getting annoyed at the amount of students in there. How am I supposed to figure out what's happening down here with everyone else making a racket? SHE had wanted to be the one to solve the mystery, and now it seemed that a lot of people (who were admittedly better equipped and qualified) were there to solve it for her. At least Piper had her amazing spellcasting skills.

Now, the boy who had run (though he had wanted to use the shadows, he seemed rather poorly hidden) was nearly as unsettling as the awful paintings around the room. Did he know anything about what was happening down here? The sources of the rumors, the crashing, the moans? Why did he want to stay so hidden? The more she thought about it, the more curiosity tugged Piper towards the doorway the boy had slipped through. There would be plenty of students to follow the chalk, but maybe that was a diversion.

It was time to play smart (or so she thought). Piper would carefully avoid the other students and follow the dark boy, completely oblivious to any signs he wouldn't want anyone around, as well as anything happening with the students around her. She slightly covered her wand's tip so that it wouldn't be too obvious where she was going.

With a swift wand movement Alexander how his occasionally stubborn wand seemed to work with him for the time being. Though knowing how rebellious Sakura could be at times he was fairly certain that at some point in the coming exploration session it would probably fail him.

Regardless, it give him light and enabled him to see what was in the large room that they had just entered. Which seemed to mostly be filled with trash, toenails and a collection of hair. He could vaguely recalled having heard that the body parts of other beings could be quite useful. Though he did not know in what way, perhaps in some kind of voodoo ritual. Or perhaps in some other manner. Anyways, it was certainly worth grabbing a few hairs if there weren't any people around to pay attention.

Something that there certainly was as he, to his surprise, noted a brown-haired boy talking to him. "I was hoping to tell you that I'm sorry.". For a moment he was confused at the sentence, then he looked closer past the glaring light of his light and recognized him. It was the boy that he had fought in the fighting pit. Now that he thought about it he was pretty sure he had seen the boy during quidditch as well. A small moment of realization came upon Alexander's face.

Then a look of concentration went onto Alexander's face. He had not honestly thought of the fight club beyond the disappointment of having lost. And that Victor Moore had apparently died. Something which had recently turned out quite well for him, but that was besides the point. Was he truly angry at Flash.

Admittedly not really. He had just been his opponent and been honest in his intent. If anything Flash should be angry of him. Alex had been the one who had been dishonest to Flash, spoke of working together before punching him in the face. He had to admit, though he had done so mostly out of desperation. He did secretly enjoy the sheer look of surprise of Flash when it happened. Though that certainly wasn't what he took from the situation.

Alexander rubbed his chin a moment, before responding. "You're referring to the fight club right ?"

He waited for some affirmation before responding. "You don't have to apologize for that. I suppose the entire thing was 'consentual'" Alexander rolled his eyes a little at the last word. "But really, you don't have to apologize for what happened. It was all a confusing mess really. "

There was a short pause.
"Let's hope this doesn't become a whole new kind of mess."
Alexander would then go to the door to which none had gone yet. The lock door with the quote. NO ONE IS HOME.

Was it unwise to go there ? Maybe. Was the highest likelihood of danger there ? Most definitely. But the greatest reward was often in the location with the greatest difficulty. One would not find treasure behind open doors, instead one would have to force the door open. Even if it risked releasing things that perhaps should have remained behind lock and key.

Alexander kneeled beside the shut door, which had been secured with iron. About at eye level with where the lock was. Then he whipped out his wand and muttered. "Alohomora."
If the spell is successful.
Alex gained a small smile whilst he looked at Flash behind him.
Could you prepare an offensive spell ? I am going through and might be handy if there are any monsters behind the door.

Alexander then took in a deep breath.
Looked to Flash and counted down from 3 with his fingers.
As he clenched his fist he muttered
Here goes nothing.
Then he quickly opened the door.

To his approach and subsequent apology, Varellion looked surprisingly nonplussed. Flash's fear that he wouldn't be recognized at all was allayed when he asked about the fight club, to which Flash nodded solemnly. It seemed he wasn't the type to take things personally, nor hold a grudge. To him, it remained entirely the fault of the person who made them fight in the first place. Flash's long list of excuses for why he did what he did were then unceremoniously discarded in his mind. The violence that weighed on Flash's conscience was nearly forgotten by the victim of it. A bit convenient, really. He certainly didn't have any reason to trust him.

"Quite." Flash's response would betray no emotion.

As the chamber became lit by one dim magical light to another, details of the room they were in brought about some shocking revelations. Flash had been all over the castle, investigated secret passages and places he wasn't meant to be, as any adventurous child his age might. The dungeons, however, were mostly exempt from that curiosity. He only ventured there when he was sure it would lead to discovery, such as when voices Adlai heard led them to the Chamber of Secrets. And now.

He was unrealistically unprepared for how disgusting it was, let alone how rife with fetor. Looking at the disgusting, crude drawings on the walls and the jars filled with anatomical garbage made him want to vomit. He brought out a handkerchief of his and brought it to his mouth, half to cover the stench, and half to pull it together. Revolting... He wished he had the foresight to put perfume on his handkerchief, but for now it was relegated to wishful thinking as he suffered through the vileness of the location. He was really not in his element at all.

Still, he was there for a reason. He wasn't just going to piss and moan, as much as he desired to. The most obvious details were immediately evident upon the light revealing it, the white line leading straight forward, and two other areas of egress-- almost all marked to denote them, as if to help someone from getting lost.

"X... Home... Nobody is home." Flash said them out loud, looking at each in turn. "X is for exit, I guess. But 'home' and 'nobody is home'..."

Flash looked carefully at the closed wooden door sitting beneath 'nobody is home', where Varellion had gone to investigate. Perhaps it was all the mystery novels he read, or his misguided sense of curiosity, but nothing made him more curious than a closed door, and the apparent desire to say nothing was behind it. If it were a trap, it would be the kind that was meant for a person like him.

He intended to stay in the room until Evelynn caught up to him, but he couldn't help but follow behind Varellion as he prodded at the door. He'd listen in to try to keep track of where people where going behind him, but he would want to see what was barring further entry, and why. Drawing his wand, he prepared for something to be triggered or jump out when Varellion opened the door. Just in case.

Opeila was not the greatest when it came to orientation, she had never been. In one moment she was heading towards Flash, the next... she was lost in the crowd of students, mainly Slytherins, who had decided to explore the dungeons like her. This was almost too much to be a coincidence.
Where was Flash?
It was Flash's birthday, she suddenly realized. He was spending his birthday down in the dungeons with a fair chance of being attacked, considering that this was Hogwarts. And this was the dungeons. The place where Howard had said that the hags were residing.

Not to forget the delusional dhampir student that was also spooking this labyrinth of corridors. Now... from what direction did she come again? Where did she want to go? She had no clue, in the end she just followed the majority of illuminated wands- that seemed to be the idea that the majority of people had, so the room was rather bright already.

The stairs were too crowded. She wouldn't find anything special in here, all this place did was causing her confusion. There were too many people in here and as the second year was not too tall, her view was rather limited. She would move on. Maybe she would find someone she knew in the room that came after the stairs.

Sarah wasn’t surprised that her wand had lit up. She’d spent hours mastering and perfecting every spell she could form first year over the summer and she rarely failed to cast when she needed to. Not that it made much of a difference when she walked into the room. A few other students had apparently beaten her to it, with already lit wands as they searched the room for where to go next. She took a moment go lance around, noting the familiar faces of her house and wondering whether any of them had the same strange feeling in their gut as she did. She still felt as though she was being pulled, tugged, further and deeper into these unexplored corridors which now surrounded her.

Her mother had always told her to listen to her gut when she was younger. She’d been told not to do something if she had a bad feeling about it. But did the same apply when the feeling wasn’t telling her to run, rather pulling her in closer? She wasn’t sure. But the curiosity which always filled her was still successfully tamping down any fear which tried to rise up within her and so she kept moving forwards.

She took note of the room, seeing most students walking straight forwards to go through the corridor in front of them. But the doors either side fo the room caught her attention, pulling it away from the way she guessed she was ‘supposed’ to go.

Her eyes caught on two boys from her year, Alexander and Flash. She’d spoken few words to either of them in the two years they’d been here, but now her eyes were fixed on them in curiosity. Unlike many of the students, they too had not been drawn to the passageway at the end of the room, instead focussing on the door which had caught Sarah’s attention. From just a few step behind them, she could hear their hushed words, something about apologising which she had no interest in, not until the blonde attempted to cast a spell.
If Alexander’s spell was successful
She gulped as the door unlocked, taking a step closer so she was just behind the boys, all thoughts of personal space apparently dissipating as the tugging in her chest grew ten-fold. She offered both of the boys a sheepish grin and a softly muttered “sorry,” which told she was mildly apologetic for interrupting but had no inclination to leave again. She watched him ask Flash to prepare an offensive spell, something she’d scarce considered in her haste to find out what was down here and held her still lit wand slightly closer to the door.
If Alexander’s spell was unsuccessful
She watched the boy’s wand spark, the spell failed and glanced between the two of them before taking a step closer so she was just behind the boys, all thoughts of personal space apparently dissipating as the tugging in her chest grew ten-fold. She flicked her wand, pointed towards the heavy iron lock on the door and let out a breath as she tried to cast her spell. “Alohomora.”
Action: If Alexander’s spell fails: attempting to cast Alohomora on the door.
If Alexander’s spell does not fail: Keeping wand alight with Lumos and holding towards the doorway to the next room (#10) behind Alexander.

When their Lumos lit up the room without any hitched, Cash finally can see their surrounding. Cold sweat was began running on their clothed back. Is it from fear? maybe but the dungeon itself was cold as an ice. Cash alongside with Starlee passed their house mates. Some of them also successfully cast the Wand-Lightning Charm.

Is it too late to go back? The green eyes thought to themselves. Eleven people in one small room. That thought alone made Cash's breath a bit shallow and labour. They gripped their wand tighter. The tale tell of their anxiety rising. Cash was trying their very best to keep their breath even.

The fearless beater was claustrophobic. Cash can sense that Starlee picked up their uneasiness when their face become paler than their usual skin color. The pair followed the white line until both Cash and Starlee faced with three options infront of them. The first one, there were a word on it.

Home. Cash tilted their head. Thinking who in their right mind making the cold and damp dungeon as their home. The second one, a passage located in the middle room. There was no clue or any word on it. The last one piqued their interest. The door made of wood (as their poorly lit wand indicated it).

The door was tight shut with iron in it. It looks like someone or something tried to keep whatever in it undisturbed as the word on the door say so. The word on the door say Nobody is home. When Starlee leaned down and touch the ground to investigate the white powder, the purple hair let out a squeaked.

Cash then clear their throat. Clearly embarrassed with how they reacted. Being in a close setting did not ease their anxiety for one bit. "I think we should follow this strange powder. Perhaps it could lead us to whatever this rumor is about?"Starlee stated with excitement in her voice after she done with her investigation on the white powder.

Cash did not trust themselves to speak. They still trying to keep their level of anxiety at bay and in check. So the green eyes just nodded their head as their answered to Starlee's inquiry. "I uh.."Cash tried to speak up but it feels like their throat was closing in.

"What I am trying to say is I am not good in any close room and tight space"Cash told Starlee and finally found their voice. "In other word, I am claustrophobic"They continued. "If we want to make it out here in one piece, you need have a good eye for observation and well, take the lead in this adventure"Cash smile shakily as they swipe their cold sweat from their face.

This is hardly an adventure for Cash but they will brace themselves for whatever will come for and to them.

Dan found that no one seemed to want to talk to him. In fact, they seemed to be actively ignoring his existence, keeping with their little cliques. That was....rude of them.
Fine. If that's how they were going to be, fine then.
"Wow, aren't the lot of ye just the friendliest bunch?"

Then Dan noticed something with his amazing eyes of amazingness. Someone just slinking around in the shadows. Weird.
He instantly recognized who it was, and decided to greet them politely and nicely. Unlike apparently EVERYONE else in this place.

"Hi Selim!!" Dan waved enthusiastically. "What'r ya doin' hidin' over there?! You wanna explore together?"

Now was that so hard to do? Greet someone when they arrive?

Dan started to approach, and he just took off running. Dan was actually starting to get a bit pissed off at this point. Why the hell was simple interaction so hard for someone friendly to accomplish? This was becoming infuriating. Then something else caught his incredible, peerless, godlike eyes. Something weird was hanging from the ceiling across the room... But he couldn't make out what.

He went over closer to it, in order to see what was hanging from the archway. He couldn't help it, he was curious. Just to make sure he saw it clearly, he pulled out his wand.

"Lumos!"
Action: Gong toward the archway to room 4, bot entering yet. So still in room 2. Casting Lumos.

Roleplaying as Dmitri Kazimir Jones
Perfectionist | Perfectionist II | Spell Spread | Terrible Presence
Sta 8, Str 2, Eva 6, Wis 14, Arc 11, Acc 10

Unlike most—if not, all—of those clambering down into the dungeons that afternoon, Dmitri Kazimir Jones was not just fueled by some random rumor.

Instead, he was fueled by rage.

There was a nice lull in the common room prior to everything. It was one of those rare times where everyone had just gotten done with classes for the day and are now either catching up with each other or catching up on some much-needed sleep.

Except for him.

Since being thrown out of the library a while back (for cursing a girl who deserved it, mind you), Dmitri had quickly wrested control of the common room's study-area off the chatty, loud-mouthed disgraces of his house. What was once a center of activity and the hustle-bustle of teenagers was now one particular Slytherin's silent fortress—kept that way simply because to make it otherwise would be to suffer greater consequences than just the older boy's steely glare.

Or at least, a part of it.

One could, at first glance, surmise where the boy's boundaries lay by the schoolbooks, parchment, and other study-materials strewn haphazardly onto any available surface. Everybody learned to keep away, in time.

And so, of course, the boy would notice the unusual number of students suddenly leaving the common room, whispering to each other conspiratorily, having some kind of "big" secret yet apparently not willing to keep it to themselves anyway by the amount of noise they were making.

"Keep it down, or I swear to God..." Dmitri remarked sharply before getting back to his book.

It was only until what seemed like the 456th pair of whispering students that the older Slytherin decided he was over it.

"Alright, that's it. Where the hell are all of you going?" The two younger students found Dmitri getting slowly up to his feet, crossing his arms in the process. If it wasn't his harsh tone that got them to talk, then it was his scathing expression that loosened their tongues.

***

"Our friends told us to meet them down in the dungeons for something cool, my ass." The fourth year mocked the first year's words as he strode angrily down the cold dungeon corridor towards where this fricking "cool" thing was supposed to be. "I'm not about to let anyone fuck up m—Slytherin's chances of winning the house cup this year, and I'll be damned if it's the measly little first years that do it!"

He said just as much to the pair of younger Slytherins a while back after shooting them a dirty look to dissuade them from exiting the Common Room with his back turned.

The boy couldn't deny the pull that the "rumors" would have had on these students. The Castle has been riddled with a lot of mysteries as of late, all of them left unanswered. Not even the professors nor the Headmaster seemed to know. In fact, the boy himself has been involved in one of these situations the past summer, one he'd rather not discuss the outcome of.

Answers were simply too precious and too rare of a commodity around here these days.

However, it's one thing when it's summer break, another when it's in the afternoon of a school-fricking-day.

Dmitri's going to stop these children himself, one way or another. Because I swear to all that is holy I'll murder them in their sleep if they get house points taken off of the house for their crap. In his simmering anger, he almost crashed into another younger student (though this one seemed to be striding determinedly out of the dungeons. Smart kid).

"Hey, watch it." He remarked but in a slightly less haughty tone than another would have deserved. Dmitri couldn't really be fully mad at someone who's actually doing something that made sense.

If only all the other students were like that one.

Speaking of the other students...

Deeper in the dungeons, Dmitri could hear multiple distant voices as well as many pinpricks of wandlight peppering the darkness way up ahead, scattered and too separated from each other to make things easier for him.

He sighed in frustration.

Why couldn't things just be easy around here?! It's not like I can be in two places at once! And it's so fucking dark, too.

The older Slytherin would start to bury his hands in his hair before remembering something.

A few somethings.

One dark outdoor Ball. Feathers. Two separate awarenesses.

And a whole lot of nightvision.

He can be in two places at once! And he wouldn't even have to go in, himself!

With a lopsided grin, Dmitri would brandish his wand towards his feet and whisper a very basic incantation.

Illowy placed the bottle back on the ground before rising back to her feet. Bottles and the occasional jar littered the corridor, as though whatever had originally collected them couldn't wait to get back to whatever hiding place it had within the dungeons to have their contents. Where had it gotten them anyway? And what had been in them? She was sure that would give some answers as to what they might be dealing with down here.

Bridget caught her attention when the girl shuddered; and though it was difficult to tell, Illowy thought her friend looked flushed and nervous. Was she okay? Perhaps it was only a trick of the Lumos' light... For a moment, Illowy started to open her mouth and nearly reached to attempt to offer some level of comfort to her friend until Bridget suggested pressing on. Illowy simply gave a small nod; hopefully this wasn't too overwhelming to her dormmate. And if it was, she hoped Bridget would tell her. After all, she wouldn't blame anyone for wanting to retreat.

Her fellow snake seemed resolute though as they continued into the next room, following after some other peers.

This second room seemed larger, with more jars and bottles; though at least a couple of these still seemed to retain their contents. That was hardly the most notable thing in the room though. What was more unnerving were the strange drawings on the walls; like creatures one might see in their nightmares, and eyes that made her skin crawl.

Illowy offered a small touch on Bridget's shoulder, "I'm gonna look around." she informed, more so wanting to assure the other that she wouldn't be far if she was needed. The third year wandered the perimeter of the room, observing the students as they tried to fulfill their own curiosities, as well as taking time to inspect the chilling drawings closer. Each door she approached piqued her own curiosity further; but none as much as the sealed door, which seemed to have already attracted a small group.

Why was it sealed and not the others? Perhaps that was where whatever they were looking for was hiding. After all, in a place like this, naturally children would eventually find it. If whatever was down here had some level of intelligence, it might assume that children would follow the assumptions that the HOME door would lead them to what they sought. Reverse psychology, in a sense. At least... possibly something along that line.

Looking back over her shoulder, she looked for her friend, making a motion to wave the girl over if Bridget saw her.
