A similar sense of ease had washed over Evelynn with Flash's greeting just as he, too, had found his own tension easing with her arrival. Although she had missed the context of Pride's (?) exit to retrieve professorial assistance, she took the implication of Flash's warning clearly enough. Professor Jensen was expected to be arriving at some point to send them all on their merry way. Luckily enough, Evelynn—as a prefect—had every right to be there. And she couldn't deny that in this case, unlike that of the Hogwarts Express disaster, they could anticipate the timely arrival of adult assistance in case things went south. In response, she had simply given an understanding nod.
What she was not expecting, however, was his next gesture. One moment, he was moving along with her, the next she felt a silky fabric being handed to her. Confusion was evident on her features as she inspected the object, but as far as she could tell, it seemed like a blanket of some sort. Granted, she hadn't any experience with an invisibility cloak previously and so didn't recognize one when it was placed within her grasp. Rather than shake it out to give it a good look, however, she simply tucked it into her satchel, trusting that Flash would elaborate. At some point. Right now, it seemed as though he was trying not to draw attention to them, so to do anything else seemed counter-productive to his implied wishes.
Before she could get any kind of explanation, however, author confusions of locations of certain displays and rooms had taken root and Evelynn found herself ushered away by curiosity back up the stairs to the chair and chalk, while Flash disappeared to engage another student. Nevermind. Details. Minor set-back. Besides, Evelynn's thought to take a better look and shed some light on the situation seemed to have actually have been useful. As her spell illuminated the surroundings of the entrance in a neat little green glow, the outlining of a number of nearby bricks grabbed at her attention.
Naturally, she was already making her way over to them for closer inspection before the light of her spell faded. Crouching, she attempted to determine if there was any reason why the bricks shouldn't be disturbed (trap?). And if seeing none, would attempt to do just that, prying them from their mortar-free positions to see what was so special about these magically outlined stones. If for some reason she couldn't get her fingers into the cracks to lift them manually, she would bring her wand to bear and cast the Levitation Charm in an attempt to loose them.

In Search of the Source of the Creeping Darkness
"Look! Don't you see? The shadows are watching, red eyes bulging, locked onto you as insects and spiders coat the walls like a living blanket. Don't you see? They're all waiting, waiting for you to reach out, and caress their depths... waiting for you to enter their twisted world in the pit of insanity."
▁ ▂ ▄ ▅ ▆ ▇ █ ||~♟~|| ▇ ▆ ▅ ▄ ▂ ▁
Light, too much light! Too many voices!
The unstable boy hissed, no longer trying to hide, he didn't care if two people had seen him, he was hardly a threat with how shaky his sanity was. Selim was growing oh so much closer, dipping his toe into a sea of madness, wondering if it would be better in there than in reality.
Shrinking into his dark, tattered cloak, he ran, obviously not caring to attempt to light his own wand. His hand was touching the wall beside him, sickly, thin skin almost tearing against its coarse stone. Following the wall, he darted away from the crowd, his mind hazy with exhaustion did not care about staying with at least one other person... because that would mean one other person who could stab him in the back.
Aku laughed at his prey-like fear, so in contrast to his predatory eyes, but the raven didn't care, he was busy darting into the next room.
It wouldn't be surprising if Selim tripped and fell over something in the darkness, it's not like he could see into the darkness he was rushing through. Likely, he wouldn't run into the walls since his hand was still trailing the stone, guiding him at least a bit.Selim is closest to Room 4, but if that is not accessible, he'd go into Room 3
His first thought wasn't to use his wand, of course, that was never his first thought in these sorts of situations. His wand was annoying, finicky, and loved to mess with him, if the Masquerade was anything to go by.
Once he reached a corner of whatever room he entered into, he'd press himself into it as if hoping he'd be absorbed into the walls, become the walls. Walls never had to worry about things sentient beings did, they were there to encase and protect. They didn't have brains, didn't have eyes and ears and a sense of touch that would trick them with LIES.
He panted, muttering, swearing, his almost-luminescent amber eyes had their pupils blown wide with a primal sort of terror one didn't see normally in humans.
Selim didn't care about solving mysteries, didn't care about finding elusive upperclassmen who retreated into dungeons and lived off whatever they could scrounge up. Selim just wanted peace and quiet. He just wanted to be away from humans and their unpredictable nature. He had enough on his plate, how could he trust other humans and their thoughts if he could barely trust his own mind?
Aku laughed darkly, patronizingly, "Scared, Little Raven? Afraid the big bad students are going to hurt poor little you? I dare say that there are likely far more important things to worry about in these dungeons..." It was doubtful the cruel voice knew whatever dark force that enjoyed tormenting students had in store for the innocent Slytherins in this dungeon [*Cough* Aka *Cough* Lear *Cough Cough*]. No, it was more likely the voice was just trying to drive Selim further into insanity. Either that or it assumed something horrible was going to happen because something horrible always happened when curious Slytherin children poked their noses where they didn't belong.
Of course, the disembodied voice only Selim could hear got the reaction he wanted, because now Selim's paranoid gaze was scanning whatever room he had attempted to hide in. He couldn't see much due to the darkness, but that just meant his twisted brain was conjuring up things for the child to see oh so much easier. The shadows were writhing around each other like a pit of snakes, eyes and flickers of eldritch creatures appearing in their depths, and unexplainable noises banging from seemingly random areas.
Running feet, groaning timber, dark whispers. Really, no monster was needed to traumatize this boy, his brain was doing that well enough.
At some point, Selim's fingers had retrieved his 'chopsticks', the gleaming silver 'utensils' bared in front of him, pulled close to his thin torso so they barely peeked out of his cloak. His exhaustion-weakened heart pounding enough for his ribs to ache and his head to spin.
He took in ragged breaths, and Akuryo 'tsked'. "Tch, calm down, boy, at this rate you're going to give yourself a heart attack. Though, I suppose that'd be a welcome experience for you..." The voice sighed. "Remember what our dear dad taught us so we could calm down. Yes... do that, you're more likely to get attacked if you're panicked like this, you know."
Selim closed his eyes, following the voice's suggestion, and forced himself to take deep, rhythmic breaths, focusing on reciting his favourite poem, 'the Raven'.
His heartbeat slowed, mind becoming more focused as he tried to concentrate on the words he knew by heart.Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore—
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of someone gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door....
“’Tis some visitor,” I muttered, “tapping at my chamber door—
Only this and nothing more.”
When he finished the poem, he slowly opened his eyes. The 'Lies' (hallucinations), had settled somewhat. The shadows still shifted and moved, they always did, and the noises had become sparse. Along with this a curious glowing orb of violet floated about, form wavering and slightly hard for his eyes to grasp as it illuminated nothing, yet still seemed luminescent.
He let out another breath, eyes scanning the darkness as he waited in a corner, sluggish brain trying to figure out his next move.
Gaze narrowing, he peered at whatever Lumos-lit wands he could see around himself, attempting to note where the students were going. If too many gathered in the room he escaped to, he'd likely try to move to whatever other room he could, he didn't want to be near them, too dangerous....
He hated unpredictability, therefore, he hated his peers.
'Twas merely a fact of his life.

In Search of the Source of the Creeping Darkness
Interacting with @Mathias Pride and @Jack Burnett
Just as he muttered the words spoke up behind him, breaking his concentration and slowly turning his head to the boy. It was one of his dormmates Mathias, who had seemed to follow him into the darkness in search of adventure. Although, thanks to his sudden appearance the spell he wished would light up the room was cut short. Percy just stared at him coldly, not even bothering to say a word to the pureblood who soon got fed up by his silence. His lack of interaction alone should have indicated that it wasn't a good idea, but the fellow pureblood took it as an answer to go through with his initial thoughts. Calling Percy miserable in the process he turned on his heels and went back from where he came, not having a single thought about leaving his classmate behind.
What a fool, he came down here to ask silly questions and have a moan at him when he didn't get what he wanted. Hopefully, a ghost will kick him in the ass on the way out. None the less, at least he didn't have to look after him while he went into the second room. The room was dark, other than a pale light of a wand in the distance. He could only make out a few things in the dim darkness, as well as something else that he didn't expect. Close to the pale light ahead of him, something flickered for a few brief seconds. A face... and one too familiar. If he wasn't mistaken, he had seen the face of his roommate Selim Faust, a kid who was seemingly born in the darkness. Maybe Slytherin was wrong, instead of Deathmote, they were seeing Faust who was almost a carbon copy of Kaegen. Maybe Slytherin was wrong, instead of Deathmote, they were seeing Faust who was almost a carbon copy of Kaegen. Yet, Selim at least showed a bit more humility than Deathmote.
Percy kept his gaze in the same spot he saw the boy for a few seconds before slowly beginning to back out of the room. He wasn't scared by the slightest, but even he knew navigating and getting through this dungeon was more than a one-man job. Turning around swiftly he turned and walked back to the steps, in the hopes that there would be a few people waiting for him above.
It wasn't a surprise when he saw many of his dormmates already here, especially Burnett who was probably itching to find out the truth. Percy went over to him and decided to ask him a few questions of his own "Hello Burnett..." sighed the pureblood as he walked up to him, noticing that Rainwood was with him "Good to see you Rainwood, I'm quite surprised you haven't brought a flock of girls to help you on this journey" he said while shooting a quick gaze around the room "Anything happened here?"

She would be lying if she said she didn't jump. She hadn't been expecting her name to be called, even though she probably should have. You didn't leave a mildly cryptic note practically saying you were walking to your doom. (That definitely wasn't what she'd written, but if you thought too much about it it would amount to that.) She looked towards her sister, who was illuminated by the light at her wand and gave a small wave.
"You haven't happened to spot anything, have you?" she questioned in a low voice. It felt somewhat wrong to talk, especially with the light. Or maybe that was just her. While waiting for an answer, she looked around the room. There were 3 ways she could head down, but should she do that without figuring out what was in the room she was currently in first? She grumbled something to herself about making things unnecessarily complicated.
Her wand in her hand had a comforting weight, but she wished she had a more substantial weapon. Like a knife. Or a baseball bat. A baseball bad would be a bit inefficient, however.
Why was she thinking about the usefulness of a weapon that she didn't have? She was trying to find some hint as to what exactly was going on, not create speculative scenarios in her head! That wasn't a good course of action.

Ileen tilted her head and squinted her eyes thoughtfully. This white powder... At first she had thought it was chalk, but no, it seemed to be something else. It was more crystalline, almost like salt.
Still completely absorbed in the contemplation, she had largely blanked out her classmates. The young girl hadn't even noticed that not everyone had gone directly away, but a few others had stopped as well.
Therefore, she was somewhat thrown off guard when a boy, Jack Burnett, did not bother to look, but tasted the powder, put the chair down and sat on it.
Ileen inhaled sharply as he tasted the strange substance and had half opened her mouth for a warning, but by then it was too late.
Thoughtfully, she tilted her head to the other side and bit her lower lip. Jack Burnett. Was he trying to get a different perspective?
She didn't know the boy very well. He often attracted people, and that was something that put Ileen off. Not himself, but the number of people gathered around him. He had been around lately, though, and she had begun to take an interest in him. He certainly seemed smart and not like a hothead - that she liked his humor had been decided at the Slytherin victory party last year.
He suddenly seemed to be torn out of his own world as well, just as she had been when he noticed that he was being watched. Only when he spoke a general greeting into the room, Ileen became aware of who else had stopped.
There was Bridget, a person Ileen respected a lot accompanied by Illowy, another member of her dueling team. Another person she respected besides Jack was Flash, the boy who had been with her on the ball planning team. He was with a pretty redheaded girl Ileen didn’t know.
Hm, Not the worst people she could possibly be stuck with. Maybe they should stick together and further investigate? She had no intention in going into the dungeons alone and the people here were a rare selection of Slytherins she was kind of comfortable with.
“Hey.” She returned the greeting, also giving Flash and Evelyn a nod, and strolled over to Jack as both Percivals also joined the boy.
Ileen gave Jack and Perce a strained smile. "No, not really waiting for someone. I'm wondering what's going on - and try to figure out if we are rushing into something bad again. Do you think this is a trap?" She pointed her wand at the chair and tilted her head. "Anyway, that's not chalk, it's something else. I don't have a good feeling about this." She wrinkled her nose and took a half step closer to Percival. Her whole posture clearly showed that she would rather stay with the small group that was forming..She and Percival Rainwood had a complicated relationship, but they had also been through Fight Club together. So why not this, too?
"Confirmation," she read aloud again. "For what?"
Maybe there was more to it than that? Maybe... She pointed her wand at the chair. "Revelio."

In Search of the Source of the Creeping Darkness

The eerie feeling of the room was not lost on Henry, but his curiosity for what was going on was heightened. There were clearly a lot of people in the room with them, but not a whole lot of light was available to see by. Several others attempted to cast Lumos, a few succeeded and he got a faint idea of where some people were in the room. As he scanned his surroundings, trying his best to see what he could, K also attempted to cast Lumos, using the added effect of Maxima. When K’s wand lit, Henry flinched against the sudden bright light. He was glad K succeeded in giving them some light, but was a little off put by the brightness. As soon as he blinked away the flashes dancing across his eyes, he looked over at K, perfectly visible now, and smiled.
“Thanks,” he said, turning back to the room before him, now having an easier time seeing the rest of the room. As he scanned it again, with K’s light as a guide, he noticed something odd about some of the bricks on the floor. “Those bricks look loose,” he said to K, indicating where he was looking. Without waiting for much of a response, he headed over to them, glad K was following so they had a light to go by. He wasn’t the only one who saw them, though, as another person was already there. By K’s light, Henry could tell she was familiar, but couldn’t quite place why he thought as much. She must not have been in his house, or he was sure he would recognize her.
“Hi, you saw the stones too?” He asked, realizing how redundant that was as she was on the ground, attempting to pry the stones loose. "Would you like some help?" He asked, crouching down toward the floor without waiting for an answer. Henry looked around the stones to see if there was any indication that he could get them free. There was a hole in the floorboards back home that he liked to hide things under. It was impossible to tell it could be removed except for one corner which sat higher. He was mostly just checking to see if there was a larger gap around any of the edges. Whether he found something or not, he attempted to help the girl pry the stone from the ground, his curiosity about why they were loose growing.

With the aid of Illowy's Lumos, along with all the other wands lighting up around her, Bridget would look around the room. She was becoming more and more sure that whatever was down here was a being. Whether that meant a human, a hag, or something else entirely was still unclear. Someone had also been here recently; the dust didn't extend past the edges of the walls, and she didn't think her housemates would have already been able to completely displace a layer coating the floor. There were plenty of bottles and such, too, all empty. Illowy picked one up, commenting on how whoever was down here must be foreign to a bin. Ordinarily, that would have been enough to make her crack a smile, but Bridget had spotted several scuttering things on the ground. Spiders. Even though it was clear pretty quickly these were normal spiders and not like the ones that had attacked them a year ago, she still took an instinctive step away. After the spider attack, she was not a particular fan of arachnids.
Shaking her head, knowing now wasn't the time to let harmless spiders get to her, she continued her search for anything of note. Spotting Flash, she returned his wave with a tense smile, watching as he headed into the next room. Of course he was here, it looked like the majority of their House was. She would raise her hand in acknowledgment at Ileen and watch curiously as Jack Burnett decided to taste the white substance on the floor. An interesting choice, but she could at least respect his attention to details like those.
She would see it out of the corner of her eye, a shift in the shadows. Turning toward the movement, she narrowed her eyes. Was she just imagining it, or were they a little too lively? Moving shadows were never a good sign; wasn't that what the spiders had been, what had killed Victor Moore? Bridget exhaled. She was probably just being paranoid. It was dark down here, and between the movement of her housemates and the shifting lights from the Lumos spells, of course the shadows would be moving around a lot.
There was something else, too. The smell of sulfur and ash, of rot and mold. And another scent, a familiar one. Was that... blood? It was a metallic stench, just like it had been when Victor was stabbed. The smell had been overwhelming then, and it wasn't now; was that due to proximity or time? None of them had gotten hurt, had they? And if not, what was the source? She shivered, this time not from the cold but from fear. What if those shadows were actually moving strangely? What if they could do what the one at the fight club had done to Victor?
She needed to calm down. If all that was true, panicking wouldn't be of any help. She just had to think straight to gain a better understanding of what was going on. First things first, make sure everyone was still fine. There was no screaming, no one with any obvious injuries. Illowy was still there. Thora didn't appear to have shown up, so she didn't have to worry about her. And Flash... she couldn't see Flash, he was in the next room. Swallowing down another wave of worry, she reminded herself there was a simple solution for that. He likely hadn't gone very far, so all she had to was find him and bring Illowy with her. That likely wouldn't be too hard, as they were here to investigate and there was only so much of note in one hallway.
"Think we should head a little further in?" She considered adding in what she'd noticed. Still unsure of whether she was seeing things and not wanting to worry someone else over nothing, she elected against it for now. Illowy would perhaps notice how the color had drained out of Bridget's face, though that could easily be attributed to the dark setting and the harsh light of a certain Lumos Maxima. She'd posed it as a question, but already she was edging towards the next room. Logically, she didn't have to worry about Illowy quite so much right now as she knew she was fine and she hadn't wandered further in, so even if she didn't follow right away, it wouldn't be problematic. All the while, her eyes were watching the shadows, trying to determine if they really were behaving strangely.
It wasn't too hard to locate Flash; she could hear him and there was a fair amount of light from various wands. He and everyone else appeared to be perfectly fine. There was evidence of someone in the dungeons here as well. More jars, these seeming to actually contain something, what appeared to be half a stool, creepy paintings primarily featuring eyes. This room seemed to be a crossroads of sorts, branching off in four directions. The way they came, marked with an X. She stored that bit of information away for later. Three other doors lead to the unknown.
Not wanting to interrupt what appeared to be a conversation between Flash and fellow duellist Alexander Varellion, she stayed silent but stood nearby, arms crossed. Perhaps Illowy would be with her, or perhaps she hadn't followed. Either way, she had everyone accounted for. Simply being in the dungeons was enough to keep her on edge, but at least she wasn't so worried now. Besides, she was here for answers. One potentially imagined scare didn't warrant abandoning the investigation.

It seemed multiple has the same idea when it came to the wand lighting charm although Henry was the only one who added Maxima to the end. As the tip of his wand began to glow and a shining ball of light formed from the tip, the twelve year old instantly scanned the room first ensuring that he was still with Henry Llewellyn and second to see if anything was about to attack them... it was Hogwarts after all.
Majority of what he saw was Slytherin's...Just great... not Henry's favorite group at Hogwarts despite being a member of the house but not worrying about the other occupies too much, the boy couldn't help but notice the scent in the room wasn't rust or copper but blood... taking a slight gulp as he turned toward Henry Llewellyn at the sound of his voice mentioning something that had to do with loose bricks as Henry nodded toward his friend before speaking, " loose? Maybe there's something hidden underneath like a staircase or map?"
The twelve year old would follow his friend over toward the spot where someone else already was and it appeared to be that they were already trying to pry up the stones. After Henry heard his friend speak first and begin to help with the stone that was when he shone his wand lit with the sanding lighting charm toward the two students while he spoke " hey," before leaning down into his friend while he whispered so only Henry Llewellyn could hear him, " that copper isn't copper but blood. Don't panic, I'll keep a eye out for the both of us but just thought you should know.
Henry looked over at his friend once again before looking at the other two, the boy stayed rather close to Henry Llewellyn while shining the light from his wand at the stones still thinking about what that first year slytherin said about getting a professor.
Actually as the twelve year old dwelled on it more, he found when these types of situations happened at Hogwarts there was usually no professor or adult to be found well until it was too late... seriously how safe was the school? At least there hasn't been a death of a student that directly happened at Hogwarts... the boy didn't think at least...
Staying close by Henry Llewellyn and shinning his wand lit wand at the stones Henry was examining the room looking around but also sniffing around for anything that could potentially help him and his friend or gave them a clue to what was going on here.

One would think that after the whole train disaster, this little first-year wouldn't step readily into even more danger. However, adventure called to her and she was not one to turn that down. Even with the dark and dank surroundings and the creepy eye-obsessed drawings upon the walls of the room they had just entered, the promise of something interesting happening was tugging at her.
Cash's Lumos' went off without a hitch, as Starlee had expected. The second-year could do no wrong in Starlee's eyes, and here they were proving themselves to be as great as they were. The pair took in the options in front of them; three rooms, two with words above the door and one with nothing. Starlee took a look back down at the strange white powder, watching as it curlicued around the center of the room and onward into the archway directly opposite from where they came.
She leaned down for a moment and placed her hands on the ground to touch some of the powder. She felt as if she was one of those detectives from shows on the telly; she looked back a the powder quizzically, rubbing the granules in-between her fingers and studying it to the best of her abilities. She stood up and looked back at Cash, who seemed a bit pale for some reason. "I think we should follow this strange powder... perhaps it could lead us to whatever this rumor is about?" Starlee said, with a hint of excitement in her voice, to the second-year. It seemed that they agreed, and it was onward with the pair to the next room.

Michael woke up on the seventeenth at 3 am. He woke up cold, something that he rarely felt anymore. He smiled slightly before pulling his covers back over him, from where they were hanging off his bed. Though he was now warm he didn't see himself getting any more sleep tonight. He sighed as he laid there, looking up at the stone ceiling, thinking about the world above him. He wondered if anyone was up, if anyone was doing as he was. He felt a shift at his feet and smiled at the cat that was curled down there. Henry's feline.
He looked across the room, deciding to get up, maybe he could see the sun rise if he was quick enough. He threw the covers off him, careful not to hit the sleeping cat, and jumped down from the top bunk. The second his feet hit the ground the cold feeling was back. He was only wearing a long shirt, a white one, (where he had got it? He'd never tell) and some white sleep shorts. He wasn't dressed for the Dorm cold, but being a werewolf did have it's quirks. Michael quickly walked over to his closet, his footsteps making a pitter patter sound on the stone floor until they were silenced by a white rug. He decided today he was going to switch things up. Instead of a white shirt under his robes, a white and black shirt. He put on white jeans, and combat boots with white strings. He smiled, perfect outfit.
After all this, it was only 3:34 am still. He sighed and slipped his robes on, black over the white he adored. He smoothed down the robes, before putting on a white tie over it. He grabbed his bag, as it was Wednesday, and he problary wouldnt come back to his dorm that day.
When he made it out to the Snape main room, he looked around, half expecting it to be full, half expecting the opposite. He signed in relief as no one sat in the room. Smiling he left the dorms, the common room also empty. He smiled as he walked through the halls, nearly everyone still in bed at 4 am.
He watched his fingers as they slide across the wall, as he walked down the halls. He walked around the school for a hour or so before deciding to go watch the sun rise. He ran through the halls, taking the stairs two at a time, before looking out of the 4th floor ballroom window. He smiled as he watched the sun slowly rise, he could swear he felt the heat of it. He sat down after he had watched it, feeling sleepy now.

Michael was woken up by a feeling, he was suppose to be somewhere. He furrowed his brows, before his eyes widened. Class!

Hours later, after classes, Mic was walking back to the dorms, before a scent caught his attention, not really the scent, more like the direction of it.
Michael had never went down to the dungeons, he didn't think anyone did. He laid his bag down, slipping his wand into his pocket, before walking closer. There was no mistaking it, the earthy smell, the same one he smelled on his sleep shirt, and the bitter smoke smell. Percival Rainwood.
Michael walked down into the dungeons, not worried at all at he stepped into the first room. He looked around for Percival Rainwood.
